It’s likely been said before, but the “Living Story” is a terrible way to deliver an expansions worth of content simply because it’s all 1 shot. With the trial now on, say you talk to a friend about how great the Molten Alliance events and items were (because you liked it). They want to see that too! Nope. Gone forever now.

If/When they deliver an “expansion” it needs to be delivered forever. They can dole it out, a bit at a time adding zones until they have the full content delivered, but unless they add to the Personal Story it’s just more open world blah blah hearts why-am-i-helping-farmer-hayseed blah “content”.

The Living Story is the actual antithesis of adding new content to a game. It adds temporary content for people that are playing at that moment.

I’m not overly thrilled with these since they are soulbound as I run one of every class and I doubt I’ll ever plunk down enough funds for 8 sets of these.

I dont think they will put in a set for 2,400 gems, that’s a bit much.

Edit: this isn’t directed at you, TC, or anyone in general. I’m just getting tired of seeing people claim to need loot-based motivation to play a video game.

The sad thing is some gamers are conditioned like that with online RPGs.
Why kill the bad guy? Sweet loot.
Why do this mission? XP to level me up to a point I can use really sweet loot.

So on and so on.

If the gear/loot has no in-game benefit then that condition doesn’t exist.

And that’s just for cosmetic items. Never mind the better gear/BiS items that actually impact gameplay.

MMO’s… ALL MMO’s in the history of always have gear advancement to a point. There’s not one out there that gives you starter gear and that’s all you need.

Really hard with all the body types they gave. They should have a graphic for each piece for each race. If equipped by Charr use model/texture F… that kind of thing. Still, very hard to go back and implement retroactively.

The Shadow Behemoth is the coolest looking one IMHO, with Shatterer coming in a close second. I like the chain leading up to SB and enjoy the fight itself (though mechanics would be awesome – at least it’s not “MORE ADDS!”).

The mini-world bosses are fast due to the zerg. Try any of these with 8-12 people and they tend to go longer. Add to that the % of those being deleveled and the time required to complete drops quickly.

I really don’t see the point of legendary trinkets. They don’t have any visible graphics. Plus, legendaries have the same stats as the highest tier, which is ascended and we already have ascended trinkets.

Ah, but Legendary will always have the same stats as the highest tier… even when the highest tier is raised.

GW2 is generally easy except that people are still struggling with nobody having a role/job/what-have-you other than “DPS&D*”

Even to this day, Arah Path 4 takes time, dedication and a lot of coordination. If the rest of the game were Arah path 4, however, nobody but the hardcore crowd would bother playing the game. If you can’t find your peace in Fractals 70 or soloing Arah runs, perhaps the game isn’t for you. I know for a fact that tPvP isn’t “casual” by any means, so give it a go.

What is this “Arah”? I’m sorry, there is only one dungeon and one path.

There seems to be a growing amount of once-per-day content. A few daily quests were fine, but now we have personal ore nodes and once-a-day charged quartz creation, and from a look at the upcoming crafting rumours it seems it’s going to get a lot worse.

Can’t we just play the game at our own pace? One of the great things about the game mechanics and the payment model is that it allows people to play as and when they want without penalising them. Once-per-day content ruins this.

Please don’t let this great game degenerate into a repetitive daily grind, inhabited by nothing but lifeless addicts, like certain other MMOs which will remain nameless!

Log in every day for half an hour or else! It shows “active daily players” for their stats.

Eight. Two are 80 and in full exotics, my warrior and my guardian. I have one of every class and every race is covered off. After the two 80’s my levels are static at 30 for the remaining six. They have their first epic skill, and I stopped there.

I do the quickest/most mindless 5 and that’s it. If I get another incidentally, fine.

Gathering I get done doing the # of mobs or kill variety. Events I sometimes look for. Usually I can just hop in to a starter zone and finish all 5 in half an hour (depending on requirements obviously).

Usually I then go play something else, or rarely finish a zone.

As above. Companions add up quick and M.O.X is a given. If you’ve got the plat buy the mats and get one of the listed armors.

Companions need to be in your party to be available to add to the HoM (in addition the normal requirements), IIRC.

There was something like this in Guild Wars 1. In the old Lions Arch there was a vendor who would record your account unlocks and things purchased from the in-game store. You could also show the vendor items which you had unlocked prior to its implementation so other characters could have access too. It worked pretty well so I’m not sure why it isn’t in Guild Wars 2 as well

GW1 also had Cosmetic slots, something that we don’t get with GW2. :/ I wish we did, it’s a much cleaner, better system than transmogrifying… sorry, transmuting.

I wish the costume vendor would make a return, and that “town clothes” were useful.

I got my wings tonight but now I need good back piece to use the skin on. I’ll be 80 in half a level and I don’t want to wast the skin on a cheap back item. Any ideas on what i should go with?

Some generic green item off the AH. Once I get my ascended back piece I’ll transmute it.

Well GW2 has ridiculous amounts of armor and weapon clipping so I’d stay well away from capes for now.

One of each class, and 3 of them are human. Human’s just “look” better imo.

GW1: Started as an Ele until Dervish hit, then Derivsh forever.

GW2: Started as Warrior, but Guardian has taken over.

No, I don’t find GW2 fun. The lack of direction is a big deal for me. It’s just … wander and do hearts, you know, because. The personal story is terrible and because the racial one is over by 20, you’ve only got 3 orders and if you’ve done those (or don’t care) then you’ve just got the same 40+ story that everyone has. No differences at all.

I find the skill system limiting and quickly falls in to the “One Build to Rule Them All” depending on what you’re adding to DPS.

The recent changes to the timing of the low level Boss events, (Maw and Fire Ele), now mean “Whoops, missed it. Guess I won’t see another one today.”

I’m struggling to level a 2nd character to 80 just because it’s so boring. Heart, heart, heart, heart, yay zone complete, heart, heart….

My warrior is one of the squishiest toons I have. I run a Sonic Boon build and gear and … Jeebus I wish my heal had a recharge 1/2 of what it is now. Then again that may be the fault of the LOLMelee design brigade.
