is that not the point of a thief .
to gank people running to camps and try to find small scale fights and stragglers .

i don’t see how a 100% increase in burst rate for a war is “balanced”
that sounds like it will be insane . for a class that is all ready really good .
lol rangers get fixed speed on arrows :S

y come out of stealth gain stability to get a stomp if u can do it in stealth and draw less attention to your self :S

or use shadow step ?

+1 not viable

edit. pain response is garbage . healing or condi remove
and when u say all u need to do to activate it is get hit at 75% hp . that does not help
and because it only gives one boon it is VERRY easy to strip off your target !
if pain response could be coupled with another condi remove trait in the same acrobatic tree it could be useful . not “fleet foot”

lyssa is like the only choice for sword thieves in acro. :S
pain response if far from a reliable condi remove

condi remove in acrobatics should not be as good as shadow arts
but needs to be reliable.

Assassin’s Equilibrium if it was in a dif trait line . u would not even need to worry about stability stacking through Assassin’s Equilibrium.

and it would have a chance to be useful in a more fitting line.

if it stays in acro they will be forcing us to try to stack it.
just to make it useful.
because the smart thing would be to just dodge the cc in stealth .
not stab them gain stability and take the hit damage at the same time :S

y r u talking about lyssa when this is about the new gm trait for acrobatics and how this is useless in this trait line .

and i don’t know a thief that would waist dagger storm with a dodge just to stack stability with lyssa runes.

if a thief doges during dagger storm they r ending it to run for there life not by chance stack stability.

lol take the stability off lyssa no one cares . they only want it for condi clear and precision for some builds

and plz don’t freak out and say i am putting words in your mouth . but i am not going to hit every point of that book u just wrote

idk quick pockets can be pretty uninteresting not 100% useless can b good for a troll build something with 2 D/P weapon sets lol
there is not enough motivation to go for the gm’s in acrobatics.

“Remember: x/x/10/25-30/x is a spec that exists in real life. Acrobatics lacks condition removal, but 10 SA with CnD is pretty strong for that job. If you’re S/D with Lyssa runes and can’t really leverage Quick Pockets in your spec (maybe because of a Shortbow secondary set), you’d think about taking this trait over AR or stopping at Fluid Strikes.”

the funny part is i would take (hard to catch) before (Assassins equilibrium)

assassins equilibrium. is not going to come down to skill as much as luck :S

it kinda just adds to a list of useless acrobatic traits.

everyone knows the condition removal u get from the acrobatic trait line is not reliable and really does not protect u from damaging conditions

-pain response

- fleet foot

pain response only removes fire bleed and poison once every 30 . and gives a healing boon .
the best part of pain response is the healing boon :S
this is not a reliable condition remove at all.

fleet foot . removes cripple and weakness.
u could call this reliable only to help keep u moving

the last thing u want for a condition cleans trait is.
(pain response)

-it only clears 3 specific conditions.
might even go as far to be called out dated there is torment now
and confusion in big stacks is more common

-a internal cool down . there is no timer to watch .
it would be nice to know when your 30 sec cool down is up.

-it can go off at a time that makes it useless in your fight.

u need to be able to trust your condition removil . and the only condition remove the thief can trust is (shadows embrace)

it would be really nice to get some kind of reliable condition removal for the acrobatic trait line.

pain response and fleet foot just do not even get close to cutting the cake

ya it has a 45 sec cool down .
people like it because most runes now r junk and it is one of the few balanced runes we have to work with.
as of now . till we get the april patch

lol i think the D/P stealth combo is clunky and slow to stealth .
useful for on demand stealth in a tight situation

and u need to keep in mind stealth is the only way for a thief to remove conditions .
so they r kinda forced to use stealth as much as possible.

damage is tied to initiative so if they spam they rapidly lose damage and make them self defenseless.

a thief with 0 stealth. lol that is a dead thief.
they can not stand to fight toe to toe for long .

D/P stealth combo can be easy to counter if u use pulls pushes stuns daze to stop them from using there black powder combo before they stealth up.
specially if u time it when they have shadow refuge on cool down and they r a lil low on initiative

a thief is running for there life when they r doing the D/P stealth combo .
break that combo and the thief will break

question . when picking the new grandmaster traits will be be forced to choose between the old grand master traits and the new ones ? like will they both be competing for the same slot ?

or will u be able to pick a old grand master trait and a new one on the same trait line ?

will any of the old grand master traits be moved down ?

i think the the initiative nerf was fair.
but they broke the sword weapon set when they added the cast time to IS/IR.

the thief is a squishy class forced to fight toe to toe for the most part.
IS/IR needs to be a reliable skill to avoid mass stun.
even if they cut the return distance or something else to make it a balanced skill

but the initiative change did make some traits useless

pu mesmer is the essence of easy to play .
just let your clones do the work .

war is easy now. u just smash buttons and smash face . while watching your hp regen

i don’t think thief is the easiest class to play . but the number of top notch builds on the internet make it easy to get started playing.

y is it a surprise that other classes zerk builds do not hold up against a zerk thief.

the thief is meant to have the highest dps . they will win

u don’t build full zerk when u play other classes .
unless u r willing to take the chance of running in to a zerk thief .

ya i do understand . ir was not a “stunbreaker” before dec 10th. and i guess it should not be a true stun breaker.
but the cast time should be cut out so it can work like it use to.
maybe cut the return distance down to 900 or something .

idk how people would feel about putting the cast time as a after cast . so that u can move out the way still.
but not be able to come back in the same second. ?.?.? i guess acting as a short cool down.

we r a squishy class for the most part forced to fight toe to toe . and with the mass amounts of stun flying every where.
some stun breakers can get canceled out way to easy.

we should be able to use ir when stunned to get out of the way . and follow it up with a stun breaker like we use to.
idk but i really hope they fix the skill it feels pretty broken as of now

i am not asking to nerf the mesmer or any class .
i am asking to buff stun breakers.
the amount of damage, cc ,hp regen ,condition clear, and speed, wars have is insane in wvw and for a lot of class it is to much .

they can cancel out some stun breakers with mass cc making a useless stun breaker with a long cool down.

i would like to see the stun breaker back on the thieves sword.
the mesmer sudo stun breaker on sword 3 should buffed to a true stun breaker
elementalist could use some shorter stun breaker cool down time.

but i can’t see a reason the thief should not have the stun breaker on the sword
and IS/IR is broken as of now

i have never played engi so i should not speak for them

but the mesmers sword does break stun
it is not listed as a stun breaker but it still works
it is a meh stun breaker . that should be buffed to a true stun breaker

IS /IR is so broken in its current state.

it is a true head ache. to have skills that do not work properly

anet said this would make for a more active play style. when they nerfed the thieves IS/IR
it hasn’t even achieved what they wanted.
unless they just wanted the thief to break down like a cheep wristwatch when confronted with stuns ?

mesmer sword
it has 2 sec of immobilize
is a leap combo finisher
and a stun breaker.
that makes a clone

and the thief IS /IR has ben destroyed.
has 1 sec of immobilize
one condition clear.
no stun breaker anymore. and a cast time that makes it useless to properly dodge a attack.

i run a sword build . and i just can’t see how the nerf to IS /IR is fair in the least.
for a class that must attack toe to toe . the sword should have a stun breaker

the mesmer staff . phase retreat can at least be used when knocked down.
which is something IS/IR should do at the very least.
with no cast time.

but plz fix IS/IR and give the stun breaker back .

and how the thieves last patch broke IR on the sword . and at very least it should be able to be used when knocked down.

all i am saying is there is a big difference when it comes to thief vs war & mesmer vs war.
lol the war has so much cleave on there weapons they hit the clones on accident all the time loading up conditions on there self.

thief is forced to go head to head . we need a way to deal with mass stun . mesmer can at least run and keep distance with long-range attacks to avoid devastating hammer blows .

ir has a cast time . as short as it may be . when u only have a fraction of a second to avoid a stun . IR needs to be able to use instantly.

besides that some stun breakers get canceled out by mass stun .
making a useless stun breaker ! with long cool downs

yes of corse i know there is food to reduce stun duration .
and the runes would break a lot of thief builds . so lets just throw them out the window.

but i know that even other classes have trouble with the amounts of stun a war just throws around like it is nothing .
mesmer might be the best choice to deal with a hammer war because of the amount of clones they spam and war hits with there huge cleaves
and i would say it is a lil easer for a mesmer to pick two stun breakers than a thief

thats a video of a mesmer ?
that is a dif story . they r not as squishy as a thief . just spam conditions
at times had 14 stacks of bleeds with good crit damage still . even if u don’t have a lot of condition damage 14 stacks of bleed will go right through your toughness . thief just can’t run a hybrid damage build quite like a mesmer can.
and the thief must fight close. where the mesmer can do great damage while moving away from u to avoid the hammer

and the mesmer has phase retreat on the staff. it may not be a stun breaker but u can still use it when knocked down ,
which is something IR on the thieves sword should do at very least. if not give the stun breaker back

it comes down to.
to many stuns not enough ways to deal with them for a lot of classes
stunbreakers have really long cool down times . and some can be canceled out by mass stun .
something needs to happen wether it is reduce hammer damage reduce stun breaker cool down or what ever but there needs to be a compensation of some kind

the warriors cc/damage is out of control. and a sigil of force and paralyzation on a hammer will be insane as long as stun breakers r on a insanely long cool down and no one can deal with mass stun.

they took the stun breaker off the thief’s sword and broke the weapon set .it was the only way to deal with mass stun .

something needs to be done about mass stun or the damage that comes along with mass stun from the wars hammer . they out shine the thief easy right now
with insane speed insane hp regen .great condition clear. mass stun and huge damage to go with the mass stun . and heavy armor to top it off

stun breakers r on insanely long cool down times .
and some of the stun breakers can be canceled out by mass stuns
making a useless stun breaker with a long cool down :S

that war really did not seem like a great player
and yishis is next lvl lol

he ran because he knew he did not stand a chance . and i can bet his build was less than ideal

they sent the thief’s sword out the window by taking the stun breaker off IR
making the weapon set next to useless. the only reliable weapons we have is d/d and d/p backstab

the thief can’t properly break your mass stuns with IS any more .
and stun breakers like withdrawal which have a long cool down can be canceled out by the mass stuns.

they need to either fix the huge damage of the hammer.
or give the thief back the stun breaker on the sword. or another way to deal with mass stun.

but i can’t talk just for thief . that much power and stuns is crazy and there is just not that many builds that can handle it . with stun breakers on such long cool downs

the wars hammer. damage/cc out of balance can’t have such huge damage with that much cc…. that is OP

the thief is at least squishy and the high damage is balanced by low hp.

the only thing a war can not do now is go in stealth . war out shines the thief easy right now

if having that much cc/ high damage. great condition clear . insane hp regen. insane land speed and heavy armor on top of it is not op .

u r worse than the thief class by far.

it is a joke how a war can (just stand there) "not doing a single thing "

and i am not talking about immune skills.

but still take mass damage from MANY people. (& still having balanced damage) just to happily walk away in clear view with a small army chasing them !
that is truly op!

it CUTS your damage when u spam . most spamable skills don’t do to much damage .
there is.
(heart seeker). lol not going to lie it is pesty when u have a noob thief come in in the middle of a fight and spam heart seeker the sec u get down to 50% hp but kitten happens
not much dif than a lock down mesmer jumping in the middle of a fight or a few specific glass builds

and there is (pistol whip) lol which is just dorky and a clunky move

and i guess . short bow cluster bomb but that is normally saved for thieves in stealth
and is not all ways a good idea

i am not even going to count #3 on p/p..no one uses p/p

they really r the only moves that u can spam that do real damage .

idk it is a noob thing to spam the cut in damage is just not worth it . and it can leave u open for attacks idk i say let them spam it makes them easier to kill

when a class is labeled highest dps by the developers is it not meant to do just that !

there may be a lack of build diversity so u see way to many of the same build running around

u don’t keep nerfing a almost broken class when it has ben hit with so many nerfs.
or there will just be more of the same old junk running around

as for rework buff lacking classes . buff team play.
give reasons to bring lacking classes.
