if a ranger can hit a thief with sick em …. that 4 sec of denied stealth can quickly mean there death …
and i think it stacks to . so if 2 rangers hit u with sick em …. lol u feel like a helpless thief.
anti stealth is so strong vs thieves.
lol not many people use the anti stealth traps . but if u hit one it is ridiculous.
any utility u have slotted that uses stealth becomes useless and the thief just breaks down.
it is like forcing a cool down on utilities the thief never used ….
if they r in shadow arts they can no longer remove conditions
u break the class essentially

play a thief and u will never need that mechanic .
a good thief will know where another thief ran in stealth and still be able to hit them
also pay attention to your auto attacks. if they change u r hitting them and could use a more powerful skill

i liked lyssa on my ranger more than on my thief because i could really use the boons.
i would mix rampage as one. and the pet siamoth skill to consume plasma to easily gain 30 sec of stability and other boons for a LONG TIME ….
plus i would use the elite to gain aegis to actively block back stabs.
the thief may have a shorter cool down . but the boons only stay for 5 sec. which really is nothing.
i dont see the cool down as a issue

the gas is getting nerfed
withdraw does not help with condition ? immobilize chill cripple :S
pain response would be reasonable if fleet foot was not garbage
if pain response could be coupled with a weak condition remove besides fleet foot.
sword builds would be slightly more flexible when it comes to conditions .
pain response is not much of a condition clear at all :S
any way looks like lyssa is nerfed

this is what we r forced to do lol. ….rely on a rune to play sword builds effectively
as sad as it sounds ..
thieves never get buffs only nerfs lol ..

if Basilisk Venom had more than a 45 sec cool down it would be the worst elite in the game … it is the equivalent of a normal utility skill …
it is like having a under powered 4 utility skill with lyssa being the only thing that gives it any credit :S

there is no real reason to run lyssa on a back stab build ..
and they can easily stealth which makes a world of difference

there was a picture from a video of lyssa when some one was showing the new pvp or something
lyssa will remove 5 conditions and give a boon for every condition removed
Basilisk Venom it is more like a utility :S
Devourer Venom a utility skill has a longer duration compared to
Basilisk Venom a elite :S
mixing lyssa and basilisk venom is really the only thing Basilisk Venom has going for it as a elite :S
but the only way u will even out the time difference for different classes is if everyone had a 45 sec cool down elite
the only reason sword thieves u lyssa anyway is because the acrobatic trait line is so incredibly weak when it comes to condition removal

no not often at all but it would be nice if it was not limited any way .
yes i under stand the benefits of stability and aegis.
like i said i dont mind the nerf … because we use it for the condition remove !
i dont need that gimmick.
it was such a short amount of protection.
in a fight vs a thief i would hope they would blow there elite like a fool
because i would stall them for 5 seconds and attack XD lol
it only hurt my play style if i used the elite with out using it as a condition remove
if anything this unintentionally teaches thieves to play more conservative and not do foolish things
like blow there elite to only gain a few seconds of boons.
that could be used against them with skills like corrupt boons the necro skill

as a thief i don’t mind the the nerf because we use lyssa for the “CONDITION CLEAR”
for the sword builds the acrobatics trait line lacks condition clear big time.
the thief sword builds r kinda pigeon holed around lyssa for the condi clear :S
people see the boons and think it is op
but in reality they don’t do that much for u.
but i do wish the condi clear was not limited to 5 conditions and maybe more than 5 seconds of boons now that u can only get them from actually clearing conditions

in 80 % of my fights
people don’t think to use imob chill cripple weekness VS a sword dagger dodge thief
people don’t think to break the D/p stealth combo with pulls pushes stuns
when the thief is low on initiative.
people don’t think about denying the D/D CnD.
they only think in a fight i am going to hit u and strategy does not matter.
and by not being patient and waiting for a time to attack they just panic and press buttons .
making it easier for the thief to win
because the thief wants u to panic and wants u to waist skills so they can make a attack when u r on cool down

+1 encourage people to run in smaller coordinated groups … team play
mindless blobs moving from point to point is not team play …. its farming
D/p can be easy to counter .
it is slow and predictible
go to where they will finish there black powder / heart seeker combo and attack.
or use pulls pushes stuns to stop them from finishing there D/p combo before they stealth.
specially if u time it when they r low on initiative and shadow refuge is on cool down
u break the combo and the thief can break to.
dustiny explained it pretty well in the d/p section.
but the thieves healing “grandmaster” trait
its nothing compared to the war’s healing signet

it is not the regen in stealth trait
they use there heal skill in stealth so they don’t get interrupted
don’t get me wrong the heal in stealth helps a lil
but when u see a thief go in to stealth at 50% and come back out full they used a heal skill .

This is a thief nerf.
therefor, it should never be implemented without significantly buffing thief survivability options out of stealth. D/P and D/D would become unusable instantly otherwise.
IMO, stealth is not a problem right now.
I almost never side with thieves, but he’s right. That reveal change would destroy dp and dd.
My solution is to make backstab cost 3-4 initiative. If you spam backstab and miss, you should be punished somehow (but not revealed). Maybe move BS to f2 and then give a stealth auto attack so that the intelligent thieves can still clear blind/aegis at no cost.
the thing about making missed back stabs cost initiative
is it would only hurt in fights where it is thief VS anything in stealth.
the only time a thief will spam the stab in stealth is if they r trying to hit another player in stealth .
just making stealth on stealth fights harder for no reason

they didn’t really go in to detail but they did mention it

RFI “clearly superior choice over Shadowstep for stuffing control effects”
because it is not true …
RFI has its place ….the +6 initiative is really nice …. i am not saying it is bad …
i just can’t say it is clearly the superior choice over SS.. i guess it is a personal preference

if u use k&M how do u not see how much better SS is over simple old RFI…
if u use K&M all u need to do is press a button to go to the place u want .
with insta cast there is not that big a dif if u actively use your mouse .

the smart thief uses the mouse……. mouse control is king ,,,,
one hand to fight .
one hand on mouse for movement
u can dodge so many attacks with just a lil mouse control.
u need a key board set up that works for u .
there is no imparment only improvement.
and yes i would call it the lazy mans…
because i hate to use my mouse . even though i can do better with it
it takes more work than just using my keyboard as a big xbox controller lol

RFI is nice don’t get me wrong . i love it because it is nice not to ground target and move back instantly
but i can’t say it is the safest choice when i have had it cancel out on me mid evade.
i wish RFI would work all the time. i don’t know y it gets canceled out mid evade sometimes????

it is great for pvp never once had a problem with it in pvp …
but wvw it can get canceled out

shadow step can help … but it is more important as a stun breaker !
u shouldn’t use it just to remove conditions. thats just a nice side bonus
unless u spec in to shadow arts for condition remove .
u can easily be over run with conditions if u r not running lyssa

what if they make (Assassin’s Equilibrium) .
activate on gaining stealth not coming out
so it worked like cloaked in shadow. blinds on stealth
it would be more reliable
reviled time would be the cool down
and blinds / dazes from the sword coming out of stealth would not over lap as much making the stability useless

no there is not a nerf to s/d but the stability from lyssa helped .
just (assassin equilibrium) i just can’t see how it will be reliable .
might just go back to d/d . for the blinds on stealth . or something
now i really hope they make some serious changes with (assassins equilibrium).
