we have taken soooooooooooooooo many nerfs it is not even funny any more

and it is not like they really fix broken stuff/ or compensate for the nerfs they make

i play this game for the thief class ….and i am not going to put money in to it if i dont like the direction my class is going

i have played alot of classes but i love the thief and that keeps me coming back to the game !

dubble swords / great swords

but really i wish they would change the boon steal on flanking strike/larcenous strike

to the first part of the combo “flanking strike”
and have larcenous strike just be a normal hit like “flanking strike” is now

it would still be a not spam-able boon steal …. but u would have a better chance to steal a boon

or just make it so larcenous strike can steal 2 boons

lol i am olny saying this because the amount of people who olny want wars for dungeons ! and the “NEW”?

thiefs are good for healing downed players in dungeons with shadow refuge !

but really u just need to be good enough to never get hit because u will die quick … a sword pistol …. black powder pistol whip is the way to go 4 dungeons if u r running a thief ….

but a support class can be better for your team

all it is a “BALANCING ACT” to entertain a few people complaining about character X!

the best thing they could do for the game is to add new classes weapons and more skills more traits…

they need some game changers not more “balancing acts”

new weapons
more new skills traits/utilities /elites
and more siege for wvw

if they can focus less on story content

this game has a good story and all and the up dates are cool and all ….

but the combat is getting stale …. it would be really nice to see some new classes

we did get some new skills but to be honest we need some game changers

new weapons could help ….

most of these complaints/ ideas must be from new players just coming to the game ….
this has ben a on going conversation for ever and not one of these r new ideas ..

same old same old …

but for the targeting issue .
if u dont already have a key assigned to target nearest enemy u really need to set it up.

or learn to play with key and mouse like most good thiefs.
so u can click them in a crowd . thats what i do in thief VS thief zerg fight
also key and mouse really is superior in this game .

u can dodge attacks just by moving your mouse in odd directions and throw people off
who dont use key and mouse

i dont think a evade/ miss should break stealth ….

as it is right now it is all ready really easy to make a thief blow there stealth time with a single well timed dodge.
wait 1-2 1/2 secs and dodge depending on situation more or less.
-shadow refuge not included

breaking stealth with a dodge /miss is a lil to much .
specially if u r a class that has a lot of access to vigor.

blocks breaking stealth makes 100% sense that i just cant just disagree with
but dodges /misses really start to break it all ….

when a thief goes in to stealth they r doing 1 of 2 things stalling for time or setting up for a back stab. – depending on weapon set up
and we r talking about stalling seconds lol.
timing is everything

reveals can be really op
but we do have sickem . but it takes some luck for the AI to land it :S

but a boon strip/ steal would be nice….
same goes for blast finishers

out of the classes that can use stealth … thief / mesmer / engi / ranger ….

ranger should have more stealth than mesmer and engi …

but it has the least amount of stealth …
it could be pretty nice and help the class

i mean if u r a hunter how do u hunt with out your camouflage XD
u dont u get eaten by a bear lol XD

maybe if it is a thing where they r in stealth for a LONG amount of time.
but we dont have perma stealth any more …

and the timer would need to be something longer than the amount of stealth time “shadow refuge” gives.

making it so D/P cant use shadow refuge to help keep them in stealth.
but the thief has so low hp this would really hurt …

lol i cant even tell u how many times i make it out with like 50 hp lol .
and if that one person standing next to me would have just keep pressing 11111 he would have hit me with his sword while i was trying to make my quick escape and killed me.

but i under stand frustration fighting a thief .
but u can beat them 1v1 if u r a step ahead of them .
it helps to main a thief and than move to other classes . if u want to fight thieves 1v1

but most the other classes r set up for some kind of team support so if u r not playing a thief it is best to use team work to out trick the trickster

that would become a mandatory trait the thief could not play with out :S

really though a lot of these things mean ALL new traits for the thief..

but stuff like limit stealth more

-Limit the amount of stealth in one time period
-Increase the CD on Stealth abilities.

just means a thief will run from a fight more when they dont get a kill and wait a longer time on the sidelines waiting for cool downs

-Give every class some Skill that can give them stealth.

stuff like this i am 100% ok with does not mater to me as goofy as it sounds….but because i can hit another thief in stealth with a good guess and seeing where there last move may have taken them
like a D/p heart seeker stealth combo.
it can be easy to guess where they will land after a combo like that.

-“Flare” skill that Hunter’s get in World of Warcraft….
i mean we do have “sickem” for the ranger … and it is OP V.S a thief …. if the AI can land it though :S

-Drain health while in stealth (Or can be traited to heal…Only in thief)

now stuff like this ..? punish us for r only survival mechanic ?
we would be taking damage just to remove conditions ?
or would be a mandatory trait that the thief could not live with out

this goes back to where we need less stealth reliant traits.

the only problem with anti stealth mechanics is that it is incredibly OP V.S a thief
more OP than a stealth thief VS other classes.

revealed times temporally brake the class. because how many traits r based around stealth

revealed makes it so u cant remove conditions and a lot of other things
far to many of r traits r based around stealth and breaking it can mean death in seconds.

but i bet i can chain more skills together than i am

well i am excited to get to lvl 80 to play in wvw
i find this as a much more fun support class than my guard

i tryed to look at the link but it didn’t work for some reason ?

ya XD all ways swapping utilities real fast out of combat and coming back with a better plan

this is a fun class and it shines where u make it shine
but it really is kinda a support class .
but a really strategic support class all i can say is i am having fun

this is a great class XD
it is really strategic and your strategy in varies situations is what makes it strong

u have a lot of access to a verity of conditions that can be used as a weakness to specific classes.

ok ya i guess i should keep that in mind .
that they can be customized for anything

i guessed i focused to much on movement /blocks/ knocks/quick skill recharges.
just to fight thieves.

i will try some rifle builds .

the engi seems very situational.
so i will try a different situation and build around it .
with the idea in mind-… if i am planing to be defending attacking or what ever.

whats a good pvp build ?
i have ben running a p/s turrets and wrench kit build with rabid amulets and undead runes .. swap out last 2 utility for anything
cleric is fun to for the healing

traits 0/0/5/3/6 dodge build …. it is great for staying alive and adding support damage
but i cant 1v1 any one with out the support damage of my turrets .
great for killing thieves but nothing else lol
i get wiped by necros

any builds anyone has ben having fun with lately

hi i am a new engi.
this seemed like a fun class.
i have just ben playing pvp so far planing to go to wvw soon.

but my question is how important r the turrets to u.

i have tried a hand full or 2 of builds so far
i like p/s and i understand how turrets can synergies with p/s

but i dont want to rely on the turrets for my damage ?

i feel like the turrets r the sole strongest weapon of the engi
and i dont do enough damage with out them ?

what does everyone think about there turrets ?
do turrets do to much damage and we cant put out enough of our own with out them?

or what ?
i like the turrets
just not how i do SO MUCH less damage with out the turrets

u did not lose damage from the lyssa nerf !
what 5 seconds of furry lol.
no we lost condition clear.. and 5 seconds of unconditional protection

y r u not useing more offensive runes for a back stab build ?
u must not be in shadow arts at all ?
but lyssa is great for sword builds. or anything lacking in condition clear really

i am still using lyssa
the 5 seconds of boons did very little i almost don’t even notice a difference with lyssa because i all ways saved it for the much needed condition clear any way

just bummed the condition clear is limited to 5 conditions now

the problem is not that conditions out damage direct damage

it is that there is more conditions than condition clear can handle anymore .
and zerk has no defensive stats .

cant kill your target quick enough . and cant keep up the condition clears

there is no middle ground

thats the worst idea ever . makes it so basilisk venom is broken on lyssa.

the low cool down is not much a advantage

specially when i can get like 30 sec of full boons on a ranger . i did not mind a longer cool down because i had a better and longer lasting effect .
vs 5 sec of boons that can easily be stalled

classes with out aegis could actively block a back stab with there elite.

and i am a thief that uses dagger storm a 90 sec cool down elite with lyssa

it hurts my ranger lol or any class that can stack boons better than the thief …
thief is not good at stacking boons at all.

i feel like lyssa had a lot of mis placed hate .
the whole reason the whole nerf lyssa thing started is because people where seeing thieves with full boons
