Well guards just lost a good amount of condition removal with the PoV “fix” . So by extension you all did too.

Basilisk venom is so pointless these days, immobilize basically does the same then for longer.

The hp buff on pets and spirits is huge and very noticeable, if it doesn’t work in wvw though that sucks… the rest of the patch is extremely meh though.

Pal of mine started using “BAD = KICK!” instead of “experienced” in his posts and that seems to work better… but I don’t like threatening players

Can you all clarify something for me:

All player-controlled minions, excluding mesmer phantasms and clones because they were already increased in a previous patch, now have 71.43% more hit points in PvE maps.

Does this indeed include ranger pets and they’re pets ant not really minions? Always thought there was a difference between pets and minions.

At one point in the past (like 2010 kind of past, not that long before the game was released) Anet said that Ranger pets were something special for the class. While pet level and stats would always be tied to Ranger, Level, Pets would have their own multiple evolution levels, that would give bonus stats. The pets would level up as you used them. There was even supposed to be the ability to customize Pet skills at one point.

Fast foward, and all the features that Anet promised with pets kind of, just vanished, either because like other features originally planned and announced, they bit off way more than they could chew and just gave up on it, or they just didn’t see the point in going into that much detail for a Class Mechanic. Had Anet actually done it and not called it quits, Pets could have been something really special to the class, but instead, they are, just mere minions, not unlike the minions/summons/objects the Necromancer, Elementalist, Mesmer, Guardian, Warrior, Thief, and Engineers all have access to. In Anet’s efforts to generalize everything, every class became a pet class…..

If im not mistaken those evolutions for pets like “Dire” and “elder” were in GW1. Im pretty sure I had an Elder Wolf as my main pet on there. Maybe they just forgot how code.

Can you guys imagine how powerful the brownbear would be if it could remove 3 conditions? We would be bowing down to our new Bearbow ranger overlords in no time.

Now pets are useful again and Rangers are totally fixed.

It is nothing personal, and I for one enjoy your spawn camping 24/7. But you have to have downs if you think that spawn camping PUGs for 24hrs a day is not going to create “bad blood” and “bad attitudes”.

So if you are too dense to understand why people are /dance, /laugh, etc….Then perhaps the next 7 weeks may shed some light on your query.

(Props to the core YB people that have stood out in this thread, /laugh at the rest of you fairweather glass-cannon baddies)

Had a lot of single- and small group action in our BL, where i stay for the most part, and that is where i saw bad manners from our opponents. Getting spawn camped in EB is apparently enough of a reason for you to laugh and dance when you get one of us down – which doesn’t happen that often from what i can tell, since you are facing our roamers that are there all the time, no matter whom we face.

I have bad news for you, the core of YB players will be out and fighting no matter if we win or lose. Feel free to come to our match-up threads for the next 7 weeks so that all of our opposing servers can see you represent your server that way. It will provide good entertainment.

Well coming from a long time YB roamer, I have tried to get all the YB scrubs to stop spawn camping and doing exactly what they have kittened about in the past when it happens to them. In fact I have to disagree with Frosch in the fact that Yak’s is a fair weather server and would be PvEing if the tide was reversed.

I would also like to say thanks to all the good fights I have had out there with SF and ET, you have some good skilled fighters. When I have gone down I have only seen bowing and respectful game play. Unlike what I have seen for the most part from my fellow Yak’s, sorry about that… does represent the core old school YB!

This is a professional company. They’ve made mistakes but I’ve yet to find an MMO developer that hasn’t made mistakes. Even companies that are fan oriented and have good communication make mistakes.

If anyone went to any professional developer and said, look, you need to see this video on how to take criticism…well I don’t really see how that wouldn’t be considered at the very least condescending…if not outright insulting.

The point of this thread was to link to an article from a fellow mmo dev that I thought had some good points that some people at ANET might find enlightening. I’m not saying that they aren’t smart enough to know what’s in the article, but it gives them a different way to think and approach criticism.

If you decide to put in twice the effort of other classes to get half the benefit then rangers arent too bad in WvW. Not sure their current status after spirit change in SPvP.

The only time ive lost to a thief on my gaurdian is if im getting jumped. And seeing how it takes no skill to jump people i dont really count that as a lost to a thief.

Sorrows Furnace has been the unofficial NA Spanish server since launch. We have a couple major Spanish guilds and a few smaller ones. Not sure about EU if thats what your looking for.

This has been nicely answered already. We intentionally went with making groups collaborative and open, and we were aware of the potential for abuse. That’s why we implemented the reporting system for it. It was a decision where we decided to trust in our community and make things more powerful and flexible, instead of locking everything up and making it slower/more cumbersome. Honestly, from my experiences using LFG, it seems like this was the right call.

Also, griefing in LFG is not a lot of reward for a lot of risk. It’s just not worth the suspension/ban to cause a minor inconvenience to someone.

how do we report people who joined in the middle of the path (earlier party members dced or left for rl stuff) just to troll and kick the instance opener?

Each of them are unofficial but recognized somewhat by Anet as the community site of that server.
