I just throw on my food buffs and go roaming I don’t think about if stuff is fair for my enemies because I sure as hell know they aren’t thinking about me.

Besides that more finishers, armor or weapon skins if they add any cool ones. Another finisher if they add some cooler ones. I want the SAB boom box now that you can use in WvW but it’s gone.

You can level up fast in wvw by sticking to zergs, around 3 levels a hour if your zerging hard.

Man i understand completely, i post experienced only or know what your doing in the description box and yet i get a wild rang of people who clearly cant read. It is so annoying when the dungeon drags on just because people obviously lied about being experienced.

I finally got my last achvie last run but id be up to do this dungeon path with you in hopes that it doesnt take forever.

Oh Im sorry, did you just say you arent the top represented class in the game (next to warrior with 14% both) , where 3x% of the people participating in MLG (more than eles, which had literally ZERO representation) which is one third of the total amount of people, more than some other classes combined. I cant go into a dungeon run without having a ranger or two, hecvk , even my last TA run was 4 rangers and poor loner ele me.

Seriously, stop spreading those things about the ranger class, you have NOT been neglected, you have very OP speccs in PvP, people play them all the time. PLease stop putting us together, we are in a WAYYY worse state than a ranger could ever fear.

You could not be more wrong if you tried. The state of rangers is terrible. Eles arent exactly in a great spot but they are not in a worse state then rangers. You are letting your emotions getting in the way of facts.

From my knowledge, there are no exotic weapons for karma (I could be wrong). What you’re describing, however, is the cultural weapons, which cost 63k karma and are rares. They are mostly bought for skins, but if you want to progress in gears, instead of just going straight for the top, you can buy it. I think it would be better to just use the karma for exotic armor pieces, then you only have to worry about your weapons.

You can get exotic karma weapons from WvW venders but i thnk its PVT only

No prob but GS and hammer guards dont have any ground targeted AOEs and if you just use shouts then for ultlities then you should be cool?

Ranger shortbow/GS/sword/dagger/axe dont have an ground target aoes

Thieve d/d p/p s/d p/d d/p dont have any ground target aoes but a good number of our ults do.

Nope but id love for you to explain how i see it every day….well see half of it everyday….

They way you make it sound is that we enter stealth and hit the instant good mod ultility and become visable again and kick kitten .

Only way to heal quickly in stealth is either to get far away enough to get OOC heal up and come back or use SR with the heal in stealth trait and even then you still dont heal a ton.

When traited you lose a condition when you go into stealth and every 3 secs afterwards, nothing compared to my shout guard.

If you actually play a thief for a few days you will understand them and suddenly wont get rolfstomped all the time, thats what it sounds like is happening to you.

I’m having the same issue with Battle of Claw Island. I’ve tried it 3 time so far, and it never gets past “Fall back to the central courtyard”. The dragon lands, then nothing happens.

Happened to me a few days ago, i just ran around and finally ran back and fourth under the dragon and he eventually used fear and got everything back on track.

Gave up for tonight due to nonstop teleporting generators (not hyperbole, the teleporting would not end), endure pain occasionally, mysteriously not working during the big stomp attack for me, boss not resetting, hurling me into the aforementioned telegenerators, and mesmer/ranger illusions/pets goofing things up horribly. Would have asked the mes and ranger to change characters but I’m playing with guildies and those are their only level 80’s. Had to switch from my engie to my warrior as well, which I’d rather not do, but eh. Simple fact is that he just does more damage and survives better.

Also at one point the clockheart hurled me into the air where I got stuck on nothingness and ground to death by gears below. No frickin’ clue what that was. Ah yeah, and getting hung up in the telegenerators during the electric floor.

We had no problem with any part of the dungeon besides that glitchy, nightmarish encounter and we were all having the issues save for my weird endure pain thing. It really is like the whole encounter just broke for us. Gonna try tomorrow, and hope to get lucky with less bugs.

So many bugs with the clockwork boss, ive had all the problems you and other people have posted about. Ive beaten the path 4 times but those bugs only show themselves if you dont beat him the first time, which unfortunaly with pugs tend to be each run.

Thief is completely useless outside of trolling stragglers. They should have more of a role in zergs.

agreed. my thief does just fine in zerg. then again I don’t use permastealth as a crutch like scrubs do.

I wouldnt call someone who plays a different style from you a scrub, that just sounds like you have some pent up tears from fighting a enemy you didnt like. I roam and dont rely on perma stealth in either of my thief builds, and I dont zerg much so i dont have as high as rank as some of my zerg happy friends, but thats the life of a thief at times. SB is great in a zerg tho.

Necros do amazing damage (unless for some reason you build tanky on a necro) while still being incredibly tanky.
Nothing to do with the guards lol, necro can handle itself very well with the right build, those scrubby melee are there to soak up the damage while necros do the damage. :p
They are really, really strong in zergs lol, and roaming.

Id argue against that, so much condition removal, near perma stability on some classes, knockdowns and lack of stability on necros all cause for one un-happy time.

And thieves wonderful ability to lose all conditions and regain to 100% life from 5% in 3 secs.

Pick the class you like the most and get good with it. When you get more experienced you won’t have as much probs surviving with those classes

Yes it’s smart but you can get exotic weapons for free with dungeon tokens or WvW badges of Hone(tokens) You could really gear you player up by just playing WvW and buying gear with the badges of honor. But the quick and easy do would to either spend a couple of gold on a weapon you want from TP or just run some easy dungeons to get the gear from there.

Now what type of stats you want depends on how you want to play your character and you should hit up the warrior forums for more info on that.

This will probably be the closest matchup we have had in a long time, have fun folks.

My experience is that most dungeon ele and Necro are bad. Someone prove me wrong, mostly just the necros tho

Backs are accessories…

Back pieces are armor, they break down from defeats and must be repaired, just like all the other armor pieces. Also, it’s a visible modification to your appearance, which accessories do not do.

Most backs arent visible and they use accessory upgrade gems so they are accessories. most backs are only visale when you put a skin on them.

The op is right in general since there hasnt really been any new armor besides what bismuth listed.

I mained a Ranger in gw1 R/N. rangers on this game are so bad compared to all the good skills and damage we had in gw1.

What i do know is Necros are never the answer to PUG dungeons. Keep them far faarr away, they think they are doing good damage with their conditions.

Ive had a lot of bad experiences with PUG necro teammates, never again.

Let me tell you how some people end up being “elitist” because i recently feel myself moving in that direction.
Ill tell you a few things about myself and dungeons:
I do not like to or want to kick people
I dont care about what classes you are as long as there isn’t multiple of the same class in the group already( This excludes wars or guards)
I dont give a flying kitten about what your APs are
I dont rage at people or quit if we wipe a few times (unless purely special people are being special, then its probably better for me to leave)

now let me tell you why some people may become elitists or act in a elitist fashion.

People dont read descriptions:

When you post a description on LFG for experienced speed run for TA UP path and you get a level 25 who has never ran a dungeon before, its annoying

that can basically be condensed into people who dont read descriptions at all and dont know the minimal level requirements.

You will be amazed at the amount of people who will ignore the description and just waltz right into a party. When that happens a lot in a short period of time (and ohhhh it can ive been experiencing this a lot lately) you just dont even have time to deal with it anymore, kick.

People dont put descriptions like “Experienced only” to be jerks, we do it so we can quickly run a dungeon without wasting a lot of time and having to reexplain everything each run.

People dont listen:

If i find out someone joined and doesnt know the path i have no problem guiding them through the dungeon with the rest of the party IF ONLY THEY LISTEN. There are people who never communicate or respond.

If you cant at least respond and you are messing up? Kick

There are people who constantly die the same way or from something you warned them about.

There are people who just constantly die, no one has time to constantly revive a single person or wipe because people dont want to take advice.

People dont know how to play their class:

I do not have time to teach you how to play your class and to use the dodge button to avoid telegraphed attacks. No one is saying you cant die or make mistakes but if you are constantly that guy who cant play his class it shows, it slows everyone down.

People rage quit: This is because a combination of all the things i mentioned which can simply be avoided in a experienced group since most things should be running smoothly.

I also dont want to spend time telling people how to use WASD to run past mobs in Arah or TA speed runs. if i say stick with me that doesnt mean start running ten seconds after the group takes off and then getting stuck behind, dying, waypointing, and now your stuck back there and cant get to us.

I also have come to realize that Necros dont bring alot of damage or help to the group. This may have just been the last 10 or so necros ive had to group with but i no longer want them in any group i create. I will now just kick any necro that joins after all the necros ive had to experience on LFG.

People who post experienced LFGs are just looking for an smooth quick run for various reasons, whether it be time or the fact that you have run it 41 times.

All of the stuff i mentioned may be fine in regular PUGS but not when someone is trying to speedrun.

Ill let you know that support isnt a real role in this game and people dont tend to appreicate those who try to play that role.. Now that we got that out of the way ill give you an opinion on classes that could try to play that role.

Guards would probably be the best since we have alot of aoe buffs and heals and we have reflection skill. All of that is handy in dungeons or wvw and you will be welcome into any party. Not exactly sure how you plain to play support in the game so ill wait for a response before continuing on.

The cut scenes need to be skippable.

farm gold and spend the 1-2g you make on the keys in the TP and save yourself alot of time.

One player with a bad attitude can have a huge negative effect on the party. In my experience, pug issues come down to…

1. Failure to stick to a plan
2. Failure to communicate
3. Failure to adapt
4. Refusal to follow
5. Lack of patience

More often than not, the people rage quitting were contributing to the problem. I would rather have four new people with me that can stick together and are capable than one Prima donna that is going to do his own thing and have an attitude about it.

Ill say this is very true. Besides what he said this path is a pugbuster for the unexperienced. You should always try to atleast read a guide or watch a quick youtube video if your unexpereinced with a dungeon path. That might seem like a lot to do for some people but it can save you and those around you alot of trouble and time.

After you read up on how to do the dungeon you can either
1. lead the next group yourself
2. join an expereinced group and just do your part to get it done.

Ive watched youtube before paths plenty of times and joined parties looking for experienced people and have never had a problem since i knew exactly what to do and my team was none the wiser that it was my first time running it.

All this thread has turned into is a big cry session about our number of fairweathers running about.

Sylvari! Seriously they are better looking as ranger than any other class. I really wished I can re-create my ranger as Sylvari but I am too lazy to re run as lvl 1 ranger again.

Yeah silvari are the most “natural” choice, my ranger is one.

Everything about the ruins is boring and unrewarding. No one is ever at the ruins so you end up sitting there bored just to cap and repeat. You can’t do it solo. No rewards, you are better off at camps or towers atleast you can run into people at those places. People just tend to avoid the ruins, they really don’t belong in WvW as they are now.

You will not get through path 1 in 98% of pug groups. Trust me I tried a few times since lfg has been out and haven’t been back. Path one isn’t hard if you are playing people who know how to use WASD to run past mobs.
