I don’t want the skins. They’re n ot my cup of tea to be honest. and I barely have enough time to play GW2 to start another game now.
I’m just curious why people even care. It’s not the first time a gaming company backtracks on something they said before.

It is not unreasonable, but not fool proof either.
Is someone who never spent a dime on the game after buying it, and started playing after HoT, and just got GW1 to get the fancy stuff for GW2 more loyal, than a player who started to play GW2 at the beginning and has spent maybe hudreds of dollars on costumes and stuff, but doesn’t want to try GW1?

So if people don’t care about showing off the skins or whatever they have, and think that othrs having the items doesn’t devaluate their own items or how they earned them, then why they care at all? How does it hurt you that others can get the items for less work/money?

The feeling I will never understand is: " I earned this, so I dont want others to have it with less work". I couldnt care less if others have it, it is not going to take away what I did to earn it. They are taking nothing away from me. I dont need to go around showing off what I got. Im just happy I got it.
I remember the core game went free after a few months after I got it, and I couldnt understand why were people angry at it. I kniw we paid for it, so what? Things change and they will keep on chaning all the time.
That is the elitist way of thinking Im refering to.

the elitist concept is “if you want this, then spend money”
I’m a firm believer anything in GW2 should be obtainable by playing the game, and not by spending more money.
If someone has to actually buy GW1 then he is forced to spend money, that is why I am against it.
Like I said I understandthje feeling, but it is still elitism. If I buy a pair of expensive jeans, and the next week they’re on sale, am I going to be mad at the people who got them for less money/effort that I did? I don’t think so. Specially if they go on sale years after I got them in the first place.

I would love to be able to get all the shinies of a game by playing that game and not another one. So I understand the OP in that.
But I also understand that if these special things were promised as only for those who played GW1 those who played it prefer for them to stay that way. It is elitist, but understandeable.

why is it that the more muscled bodytype for human males has the exact same legs than the more slim ones? it looks ridiculous, it should have bigger tighs and legs in general, he looks like one of these gym guys that only do upper body and never get to do leg day XD
I’d love someday to use that body type but not with those legs…

I’d love for them to do it that way. 1 new map+ a few LS chapters +1 dungeon/fractal/raid wing +1 new legendary weapon.
A few of these around the year and I’d be really happy. I prefer shorter but more often new content than wating years for a lot of content.

I know we have invisible shoe armor skins, why not have an invisible chest skin? many of us would like to have barechested male characters, right?
I know we have been talking about more armor choices, specially for male characters, but this would be an easy way to give us more variety. ANd it should br pretty easy to do, since there is no modelling required, just add an empty chest skin, and that’s it.
I would like to hear what others have to say about it

look more girly? how is having sexier and skimpier armor girly at all? women and men have equally interesting things to show, it only depends on what the viewer is interested in. men have used leotards and shown their bare legs for quite some time too.

fair is that both males and females, gay and straight can choose to dress their characters the way they want, skimpy, or more covered, with long robes or form fitting clothes. what we have now is not fair as only straight males get to see skimpy armor on the gender they care about. so theOP request IS about fairness, not about his/her specific tastes. it’s not game breaking of course, as it’s just aesthetics, but doesn’t mean that people don’t care about it, specially in a game like GW2 where aesthetics play a HUGE role.

PC is too often used as an insult, for people who are asking for FAIRNESS in treatment. it’s a way to just dismiss it as a whole without even mentioning the topic at hand, so please let’s just talk about armor choices and less about real life social issues.

Half-naked females, fully draped males.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

coso.9173

This soo much!
I’m a gay male and I also want my eyecandy why only straight dudes get to have it? both gay men and staight females get the shaft if they want to see sexy male armor in this game. Specially for medium armor male human, ZERO skimpy options. I want to make a sexy thief with form fitting armor, and maybe an open chest piece or leather straps or something. ZERO options for that.
I don’t mind sexualisation in games as long as it is equal, if not then it’s just a bit sexist.
and that’s not being PC, it’s just being FAIR. I don’t get how some people have trouble imagining that others might actually want to look an attractive male body with armor that shows some skin, like it was something only straight males feel.
no one wants to take away your female sexy armor, so stop being so defensive. we just want MORE option for both genders. simple as that.
While that happens I’ll continue to play other MMOs with more equal armor treatment cough ESO cough
It’s good this topic keeps appearing, so devs know it IS an important topic for many of us.

don’t all MMOs let people who get the expansion have some advantages anyway? in other games you either get better equipment, raise level cap, or many other things that give obvious advantage over people who don’t buy it.
I don’t really get why people would not get HoT by now, doesn’ it bore you to play the same stale game over and over?

tattoos, and earrings for both genders, would be awesome. Also, a way to hide armor parts (specially top armor) would be great for those of us who want to play a more barbaric/sexyier looking character.
as for bigger boobs and more sexy female armor, I’m against it, just because the only way to have it fair would be to give us guys a way to have bigger butts and pecs, a completely different sexier underwear and the same amount of sexy armor, and that will never happen without people complaining about that.

Eh, just play an asura wielding small weapons like daggers. You won’t even see the weapons, so can imagine them to be anything. Dual wielded spoons, anyone?

Well, I specifically want them for my human, to make him look more like a monk. so an asura is out of the question.

Being ignorant about a specific issue is not an insult. there are lots of things that I’m ignorant about, cars, mechanics, advanced economics, straight people, etc…
but it’s true that either people don’t realize that the game is already filled with real life issues, or just decide to ignore the other real life issues and complain about a specific one.
Of course if I talk about specific real life issues, like the war between israel an palestine, it has no place in GW2, but talking about wars in general is an issue that has its place in the game. Same about transgender, talking about Caitlin Jenner has no place, but transgender people in GW2 exist, and therefore it is part of the game too.
