I like GW2 trailers and videos, the last one from HoT was awesome, but I also enjoy the less realistic ones like the fractals video, it was simply awesome.
Also the beginning video after character creation is also very nice.

I remember when instagram stopped being iphone exclusive and went to android aswell. I remember seeing hundreds of complaints and whining from iphone users claiming that the android users would cause too much drama, and they wanted it to stay exclusive, never even noting that the ones causing all the drama and ruckus were themselves in the first place.
Here it’s a bit the same. toxic people can be found anywhere, I can log in to WoW, a paid game and still find my fair share of kittenry with relative ease.

coso.9173

I want to start this topic saying that GW2 has an amazing and beautiful soundtrack, I love many of the songs we haved ingame and the quality is really good. It’s one of my favorite osts in MMOs, and videogames in general.
That being said, I read a while ago it was possible to change the music played in game by accesing the music folder and putting playlist files in there. I don’t want to change the music itself, but I’d love to change the order on them (like putting some darker music from dungeons at night), But I haven’t been able to find the music folder. People say it’s right next to the screenshots folder but I can’t find it in there.

Also. I’d love if field music (meaning music that plays in the open, outside cities) would be more specific to the place you’re in, like having music for snowy areas, for swamps, for deserts, for beaches etc. Sometimes it’s a bit anticlimatic when I’m in a creepy swamp at night and there is a beautiful happy calm music playing.

I’d love any help on this

I agree, thinking men should not wear revealing clothes but women can wear them is a sexist argument because it means you see women as eyecandy (partially or totally) and refuse for men to be seen that way because you think its ridiculous or degrading.
Back to the topic, i think most of us agree that male characters need more options. Thats all we are asking for.

Toren, if you can’t even see the example because you’re at work, you’re probably not informed to reply.
I’m not talking about wearing female clothes, so either stop trolling or reread my post.
One of the examples has a bra, if we take the bra off, the outfit would work for a guy. How does that even come close to want to wear female clothes?

I’m not interested in arguing weith trolls so if this is your intent, I don’t have more to reply to you.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I’m not advocating leather thongs for males, but armor that show the bare chest? tight pants? sleveless shirts? That’s all I’m asking for. (Not that I wouldn’t like to be running around in Lord Faren’s speedo, but that’s another thing altogether XD)
For medium armor things like this could work greatly for males:

ANd I agree funky fat tighs, I’m on my way to get the glorious chest piece for the exact same reason, and I hate PVP with a passion, but like you said it’s the only one that doesn’t have a skirt.

how come female thieves have revealing clothing options and male thieves do not? why would only the female one fit the aesthetics of the game?

Because it wouldn’t look right seeing a male thief wearing that same clothing? I don’t subscribe to gender theory, sorry. There are intrinsic differences between the male and female form. Artists for thousands of years have recognized this fact either implicitly or explicitly.

that would be the case if I were asking for males to be wearing skirts or clothes made for women. But none of the examples I gave you consist on skirts. All of those examples would work on guys (with the obvious exception of having a bra on the first example)

look at this Phoenix Namor armor: http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/12/125864/2447176-marvel__2_.jpg it’s pretty much the same than the first of the examples I showed you, if we look at the type of revealing clothes, and it works for a guy just as good.

Just because YOU are not so used to see males with more revealing clothes it means that it’s any less natural.

I tend to have my replies ready in 20 secs or so, but I’ve rped with people that take 4 minutes each time. it just happens and I would never tell them to speed up. it only means that I’ll probably will have to go before we have finished a longer conversation though, considering I don’t rp for more than 1 hour usually.

here are some examples of heavy differences in medium armor for males and females:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sneakthief_armor
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Assassin%27s_armor
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Krytan_armor

Most of the rest are pretty much the same for both genders, which is a great thing, compared to many other MMOs around. But still it means that males have no revealing options for them.

When only females can wear skimpy clothing it reeks of sexism.

Male characters wearing heavy armor have some “skimpy” options to make them fit a barbarian type of theme. In fact, I usually apply those skins on my heavy characters because playing Conan the Barbarian is fun. The term “sexism” gets thrown around a lot today when it shouldn’t.

Medium armor (human)has absolutely no skimpy options for males. For females no armor type has no skimpy choices.
and about sexism, depending on the definition you consider on it. I think that having almost no choices for male skimpy armor and many choices for females is sexist.

I actually like the male hairstyles, this is one of the few games where I have more than 1 choice that I like. That being said, more options are always good.
As for clothing go, I agree, I tend to see mostly female characters in skimpy outfits and I thought It was like tera that most female armors where like that, but then saw all female armor in game and most of it is not skimpy at all, but it’s the players that consistently choose the skimpy ones much more often than the rest.
I wouldn’t mind much if we males had similar options, but we’re not even close. I play a human male thief and I have NO skimpy options at all. 90% of the choices I have are long trenchcoats and clothes with long drapes on it. The few ones that are shorter are not skimpy at all. I don’t really mean I weant to go around fighing in a leather thong, but something like a leather harness for medium armor and pants with some holes in them like female have would be great.
When only females can wear skimpy clothing it reeks of sexism. And even though I know ArenaNet is a pretty decent company about that (kudos on that by the way) they could still make things more even for both genders.
The main point is to have choices, both for males and females. I don’t mind skimpy females much in here because they choose to do so, in other games like Tera, they don’t have much choices, they have to dress like that.
So please, ArenaNet, give us choices and make things more even, that’s what many of us are asking. The daydreamer’s finery was a nice step, but doesn’t really work for melee or non magical classes. Besides it has “buttflaps” too like someone said in other topic XD

I’m sorry you have had bad experiences with RP, I’ve had the complete opposite happen to me. I’ve met almost only great people.
like others said, getting some friends or guild to rpn with can help a lot, you can even have more deep plots and story than just random tavern RP where many people don’t really go past their first meetings with eachother.
As for elitists, rude people and similar issues, you’ll just have to learn to shake it off. Keep the kind people around you, and let the rude ones go. Don’t even look back, they’re not worth it.
You can PM me if you have any questions or need any help, I’d be glad to help you out.
