I actually really like the new content, the maps are gorgeous and the events are fun.

all wing types should be made into glider skins.
Also all cosmetic mounts should be made as glider skins too.

“oriental” is offensive? I have never heard that before. english isn’t my main language, but in spanish “oriental” (the same word) is not an offensive word at all.
about my dream expansion, I’d love to see something with lots of creepy things, maybe the shatterer, with destroyed towns, and awesome ruined places.

auto glide? I don’t think this has happened to me so far, and I even umped down the volcano…

ah so there are in fact no gliding zones in Tyria then, does it have more to do with map boundaries or Jumping puzzles or something else?
also does it go live tomorrow?

I think outfits should be fancy and spectacular. armor should still look like armor, but still we need town clothes in some way or another (and not tonics, I mean a way that we can dye them too)
why not have them as armor skins too? It can’t be that hard to have them available as skins for all armor types.

one of the things I loved about WoW is that each time you used the /say channel your character would emote like talking. (and even had different emotes for questions or exclamations, depending on the text) it also worked while seated. it was really nice for RP too.

I’m pretty sure there is a view distance slider though but I have to check.
I know when I put lower graphics the view distance is drastically reduced.

uh they do? there is a camera distance slider, I use it all the time.

how would bard wbe related to thief at all? I see nothing in common between those 2 classes.
I would prefer another take on it, there are many thief related issues that could work that have make much more sense. (just my opinion of course)

I keep using it all the time so I prefer not having to go through another confirmation window. just be careful.

I do world completition and exploring, Jumping puzzles, and meta events in HoT maps mainly. I also do fractals once in a while when I want to have short group content. Also world bosses.
I’m thinking in beginning with legendary weapons but it’s a huge task so it scared me a bit.
If you think the whole game is boring you should better take a rest. We all get burned on games at some point.

oh yeah, new maps to play in the new living world story and hopefully to learn a bit more about the next antagonist.
Also, more creepy places? creepy abandoned houses, dark gritty cities, creepy graveyards, spooky forests and etc, with creepy music (they can even use the one from the branded areas, it’s pretty creepy)

never gonna happen, but a way to have some sort of user generated content. small quests and adventures that we can design for others to play.
selecting npc’s and monsters from the game available library, and edit maps, write dialogues, make quests, and stuff like that.

can’t you just wait for that charr to move or something? anyway people have already told you how to select standard models anyway

still, hearing someone say she used to be a dude is not shoving their sexuality on your face anymore than hearing someone on the street talk about his wife/girlfriend or something.
again, imagine if we gays complained everytime we heard ANY mention of a heterosexual relationship, in the streets, in the movies, in videogames, in tv series, etc… can you even inagine the nonsense that would be?

Animals, for the most part, use sex as means of reproduction so I can’t see a Charr digging the same sex. I don’t see Asura as digging the same sex either. Sylvari are A sexual so they don’t count.

I disagree, if that was the case, there wouldn’t be homosexuality among animals, and yet it’s widely known by now that many species actually have homosexual sex and relationships. For example, penguins, who actually can form a bond between 2 members of the same sex, or dolphins, or many types of monkeys or male bats who have the highest rate of male homosexuality among mammals If my memory serves right.
Also, Sylvary are not asexual, (and even asexual people can still have sex btw) it has been etablished before that they do in fact have sex, but just for fun, not as a means of reproduction.

I don’t really enjoy eastern MMOs, it’s a whle different mentality and usually not one I enjoy in games. they tend to be too grindy, and a bit too fanservice-y.
Also many times they have costumes and stuff that don’t fit the game setting at all, like car polices, school uniforms, and many many other types of fanservice versions of regular costumes.
Maybe B&S won’t be like that, but from what I’ve seen so far it really looks like it’s going to go that way.

homosexuality is just as much of a topic for kids as heterosexuality.

again, about the charr, I think we have to think about an important factor that could help us get a more informed point of view. Do charr have sex merely for reproduction or also for pleasure? does any npc say anything that could answer that?
if charr have sex merely for reproduction and are a militaristic nation, then homosexuality would be probably more frowned upon. Do thery also have sex for pleasure/fun/social reasons? (like real world humans) if they do, then they understand that sex is not solely for procreation and maybe they wouldn’t frown upon a gay relationship, which doesn’t produce offspgring on its own.
Also, even if they did care about having lots of kids, if we take the 5-10% (some say 3-5%) of homosexuals among a community, it wouldn’t affect much their numbers.

anyway back to the original topic, homosexuality in charr, if it’s not specified by the lore, it’s finally up to each person how they think it would be. We tend to humanize fantasy races, no matter how alien they are by our own experiences, and I think a safe middle spot is that some charr will mind and others won’t. So if someone wants to rp a gay charr they can, and if someone wants to rp a charr that has trouble with gay relationships then he can too.

there is nothing sexual in the relationships mentioned in game, just romantic relationships. If you see something sexual about it maybe it’s just you.
Let’s try to keep this to charr homosexuality though ok? the OP didn’t ask about our opinion on homosexuality in general.

no one is shoving anything down your throat, they’re mostly npc’s and you can choose to talk to them or not, you can also choose to read this topic or not.
Just showing a homosexual couple is not shoving down their sexuality on our faces, the same way as showing a straight couple is not shoving it either. It’s just showing a specific relationship between 2 npc’s.
Could you imagine if we gays complained about “straight propaganda”everytime a straight couple is shown in a videogame or a movie or a series? it would be pretty ridiculous right? because that’s how ridiculous some people look to us when they claim than just showing a homosexual couple of npc’s is “homosesxual propaganda” or “shoving their sexuality down out throat”
please remember that everyone is different, there are many things I don’t like, but I won’t complain when I see them because the world is not all about me. there are different people everywhere.

I don’t really like the outfit system. I mean it’s nice that I can wear it when I want and then go back to my armor, but they have basically put all of their effort into them and not on more armor skins. I want more armor skins I can mix and match. I STILL can’t find a medium armor chest piece that I enjoy for my human thief. long coats, jackets, etc make up 99% of it, what about mire form fitting armor? there’s only the glorious chestpiece but it covers from the top of the neck all the way to the waist with not a single inch of skin being shown. why do the krytan set looks awesome on females and on males is ANOTHER long coat? armor should look basically the same between males and females (with some exceptions) but most of the time the differences are ridiculous. In outfits it makes much more sense that they look different, but not in armor. The krytan set could be the same for guys and girls, but removing the bra for the guys and there. an awesome tight form fitting set for the guys, and no another long coat. Same for sneakthief. what’s sneaky about drapes that go all the way to the floor? I want agile looking thieves too.

Like others haver said, Charrs consider men and women more or less equal now, so I don’t see why they would shun on homosexuality (considering in most cases homophobia comes from male chauvinism).
and about them not having aring much for relatinships, I don’t know, I’ve read many npcs talking about their “mates” (wich could be male or female)

it looks like most of the people commenting here just are tinking about PVP. not all of us do PVP, remember that.

i like how the future changes sound so far, with the little information we have, I really hope they deliver what they claim.

or maybe new JPs in old maps that were added with the expansion?
I love trying new ones, even if I can’t complete them.

I hate PVP, and yet I had to do it to get an armor skin I wanted, so we all have to do content we don’t enjoy to get things we like. I personally LOVE JPs I think it’s original to have an MMO with them, most other MMOs are just kill enemies, grind items, rinse and repeat forever.
the few JPs that are required to get something else (the fractal one, and a few skill points) are really easy so just like I had to suck it up and play pvp to get my armor, do the same, and learn to jump.

I’d really really love to make a Norn if their males were not absolutely ridiculously proportioned, i have no idea why the females look perfectly fine, but the males.. oh man, what’s up with the short legs and tiny heads? why do males always get the ugly stick? do guys really enjoy playing with ugly characters that much?

I think the game is amazing, it’s fun entertaining, has a stong lore and respects it. it’s more to it than just kill 60 enemies and bring me 30 magic cats like other MMOs out there.
I also enjoy the more progressive stand on it, supporting diversity and such when other MMOs prefer to stay on the safe side and not mention it.
Also caracter models are very nice, the maps are beautiful, there are jumping puzzles lots of secret areas, and many things to do.

I loved that in Ragnarok Online, each class had a different whole city! that was amazing. Much harder to pull in a game like Gw2, but still giving each class more of a sense of community, a place to gather is a nice idea.

housing is not the same as garrisons.
But speaking of WoW ideas, wha’t I’d like that WoW is doing too, is class halls. it would be nice and would bring more lore to each class and would also serve for RP purposes.

more armor choices, and I mean real choices. no more jackets/coats/long drapes for medium armor. Leather Harnesses for males, more form fitting armor, things that could be useful for a barbarian or a athetic kind of thief available for all races, not just norn or charr.
We guys also want to feel sexy sometimes ;o
And as for new places, I’d LOVE a dark sinister city, with a dark victorian england vibe to it. Also haunted places, haunted houses, haunted ships, haunted graveyard, sinister and dark forests, creepy tower ruins, creepy towns, BRING ON THE CREEPY!

more diversity is always good. I think for males we have some poc options, if you make a human male mesmer, the base character is a black guy and he looks pretty good. but there are some tricks to make faces look different and more asian/poc/arabic/etc.
I also support the non gender locked hairstyles, even though most MMOs do it that way.

even though we have waypoints and asura gates, many of us actually enjoy riding our months across the beautiful maps of this game. I don’t really think it will happen becuase it’s probably too late, but just saying that having waypoints does not replace mounts for that reason.

we would get much more clipping than we have now, but I think it’s a fair price to pay for such a cool feature.

this is a good question? how indeed? the expac is exceedingly thin with very little replay value (tougher monsters and unpleasant maps…and no reason to do them-no rewards). everything about hot is cheap and mean and without soul and players pick up on this rather quickly.

so that leaves us with recycled holiday events (that are shells of the originals) and a weekly release of gemstore items.

there is no talk of the big things that people want/expect (again mounts/player housing/new races/new maps/reinvigorating the crafting system/character customization options) instead what little information we get from anet involves legendary weapons and perhaps legendary armor at some point.

these are very tiny additions to the game. tinkering at the edges when broad ambitious plans are called for. the tyranny of the stingy mind-thanks colin and john smith!

notes-i do realize some people like hot but some people also like 2 and half men. bad taste isn’t proof of popularity nor quality.

just because you or others don’t enjoy the expansion doesn’t mean at all that you can’t count it on what’s been added recently to the game. Maintenance mode implies the game doesn’t get new content (or significant content) a whole new expansion IS significant content, no matter how little you enjoyed it.

Norm make me sad cuz Braham looks amazing in the artwork. He’s proportionate, ripped with muscle, looks bada** and etc. But in-game the Norn males look fat and deformed. :[ Females character models always seem to get more attention in most games though. It’s tough being a male in the virtual world.

I made a male Norn Guardian during release cuz I like Werewolvez and such (also wanted one of each race) but ended up disliking the way he looked and made it a female instead since she didn’t look deformed. Eventually deleted her though after finishing Norn achievements and made it a Male Sylvari instead and don’t have any Norn characters anymoar.

I’m a BIG BIG fan of werewolves too, and this was one of the reasons I made one too. but I didn’t even get to lv 10. the way they look was just too much for me
and you’re right, Braham looks wwicked awesome in that drawing, why can’t Norns look like that?? ripped, defined muscles but still human looking, with a smaller waist and a normal sized head.
