I guess i was the only one who enjoyed the fight then. It felt like such an epic battle to fight such a huge dragon from an airship with laser cannons.

What are you on to? Gw2 is gorgeous and looks better than most MMOs in the market.
And it plays much much smoother than other games that look worse on my pc, so its not really badly optimized either.

But we already filled the destroyed city trope.
I like each race getting their lwn starter zone, it gives more importance to the different races. If we all started on the same zone with the same quests we would all get bored 5 tines faster.

I prefer Elona myself XD but I’d love to get anything new.

do horns still show up when fighting? or are them like town clothes tonics and they are removed when in fights?

I agree, I feel much more rewarding to have a rare skin and a beautiful armor/weapon than getting my +15 weapon of awesomeness that looks just like the same and either costed me a fortune or a ridiculous amount of playtime to get it.

they have minions because every antagonist bad guys needs minions, they just HAVE to, or they won’t be respected at the annual baddies con.

I only have trouble when facing world bosses, there’s too many effects going on, but for pvp or normal pve I don’t think it’s that cluttered. :P
But I’m a filthy casual so don’t mind me.

I have 5. for now I play 3. One is my main, one only when I play with my bf, and one that I just started as an alt for when I’m bored.

I tend to play only 1 character. I don’t have much free time so I prefer to use it on one char, instead of having a bunch of kitten alts XD

I love that the focus of the game is not in endless grinding and upgrading stuff. I come from another game that to get the best equipment you now need to either spend aprox 8000$ or play for 4 years the current content (only dungeons, skirmishes and PVP) for about 4 years to get it. There’s also nothing that rewards exploration,. it’s basically become grind and refine online. Like a sad, expensive facebook game.
So I’m glad to see GW2 is different, it has exploration, jumping puzzles, a great story arc , and getting the best equipment isn’t the final focus of the game, and even doing that is not that long or expensive.

I like the idea, I would actually prefer if we could use whatever we want skin wise. Skills are pretty clear to help identify a class in PVP too so it’s not like we would get confused either.
I use medium armor, but I’d love to use some of the light or heavy armor on my char.

I’d love to see more hairstyles too, GW2 has a pretty nice selection, but still more is always better
I’d love to see something like an undercut too for males

hello everyone. I have a problem with the launcher.
my bf is downloading the game and the download bar is just passed the “playable” a while ago. but the “play” button is still greyed out.
He is logged in into the client, we even tried logging out and logging in again and nothing.
any ideas why is that?

Dont care much for modern clothing. Id love to see town clothes as armor instead of tonics though.

You know guys you can disagree with the OP without personally insulting him/her right? I know it might sound like a complicated thing to do, but it actually isn’t.

I would love for it to be a possibility, I wouldn’t get it for my character, but others could be interested.
that being said I think the main reason is that they don’t think enough people would be interested to justify the aditional work for it.

I had no idea it was an anniversary, I would have expected some kind of event though even a small one.

Guest your character in Tarnished coast and head to various taverns in the world, you’re surely find people RPing in there. You can also search in the GW2 Roleplayers site for guild invites There are quite a lot.

I wonder why everyone says that all modern MMOs are WoW clones? Excepting a few, I don’t see it. How is GW2 a WoW clone? Because it has armor and levels and dungeons and crafting? I think too generic to categorize it as a wow clone

I guess it could be true, it may be not that people are going for more casual games, but that people are becoming more casual gamers themselves, and moving to new “shinier” MMOs, it’s also a possibility.
People used to stay years on good games, now maybe people may just play for 1-2 years at most and move on.
it’s a pity because one of the things I like about MMOs is that they’re an ever evolving world. and playing it for jus a short while makes you miss most of that.

I don’t specifically know about GW2 player dwingling, but Neverwinter, WoW and Tera have evidence of people leaving (and not enough people coming) so I don’t think it’s just a wrong impression.
That being said, people o the internet tend to exaggerate things.

This is not a rant against Gw2, or any particular game. It’s just something I’ve noted in the various MMOs I play.
People say that GW2 is loosing players, I also visit the forums of WoW, Neverwinter, DCUO, Tera, and others, and you know what they ALL have in common? More players leaving than the new ones coming in.
So my question is, where are all those players going? Is the MMO genre becoming stale and people are prefering smaller more casual games?
Myself, I love MMOs, I love getting immersed in a rich world with a rich story and being able to play while I talk with people all around the world about game stuff or just general life stuff. But I wonder if people like me are becoming less and less interested in it, and prefer something quicker and more casual, like LoL or maybe World of tanks? (just to name some more casual games)
Please don’t turn this topic into a “I’m leaving GW2 because…” this is not about it, do you think the market is changing? Do you think MMOs need a change? How do you see the future of online gaming?

I also play Neverwinter. it being a DnD game you would think story is an important part of it, but sadly it really isn’t.
in the last expansion we got 4 new areas (3 of them reused from before and an actual new one) and in those new areas, there isn’t even a proper questline, there are just some “vigilante” quests that are just “kill 4 cats” and stuff without any related story and when you do 16 of them you go to the next hub.
It’s really really tedious, and compared to that, I feel like GW2 has a really rich and great story.

I don’t know why people complain about story in GW2 this is one of the MMOs with better story out there. There is actually immersion on it, other MMOs barely have a story at all.

Experience with thief: I’m still relatively new to gw2, so not much, it’s my main and I’m lv 80 but there’s lots of things I still don’t know. I have tried many different weapons, but I use mainly D/D and SB for PVE. I’m willing to learn the playstyle, and I’d love to join so I can ask for other thieves advice.

ah yeah, I have D/D as my other loadout, I use that for multiple enemies and stuff like that

I have been playing with P/P lately and it’s working prety nice. Many timed I need some range from enemies and pistol is good at it. I know it’s now very good for multiple enemies but still. I use mainly skill 3 for attack and 2, 5 for support.
anyone know if there is a way to make it better?
I’m running a condi build so I use venoms.

Maybe I’m just dumb but I haven’t been able to find in the forums what’s the story to HoT? what’s actually happening in it? is it a continuation of living world season 2?

cool character, now if we only had any content that matched him, an old city, a spooky mansion or castle, scary graveyards, dark forests, etc…

.handsome characters (specially males,females are almost always beautiful in most MMOs)

I knowe there are several choices for VO (I don’t know if they work properly though, I once selected french and nothing happened)
I was wondering if there are any plans on doing a spanish VO. I understand english well enough, but it would be awesome to hear the characters talking in my main language.

I don’t get all the hate, why are people mad that he’s the leader of the pact and not the player? how would that even work? all of the players are the leader of the pact? it wouldn’t make sense.
Besides many of us don’t like being the leaders, and prefer to be on the field, in facto probably most of us. He’s more of a tachtical leader.

Is there Any chance we’ll get new weapon types in the future? And what new weapon would you like to see?
I’d love to see a whip,like in castlevania games, it would be so kitten. I know we’ll get something likea swordwhip, but I want a full fledged whip.

I love the acrobatic part of a thief and I sure hope the spec includes some of it too

I don’t want thief spec to be a caster thogh, I hate magic classes in games, I prefer physical ones.
that being said the idea is still cool.

things can be pretty grim for us now, but believe me, balance is not nearly as bad as other MMOs I’ve played.
I come from Neverwinter and unbalance in there is really really crazy. In here things could indeed be much better but I’m glad that it’s better than there.

Have we gotten any names on the thief specialization?
or does anyone have any idea on any possibilities? i have no idea on any class name that could give me an idea on the playstyle.

Ah, so you think it’s better to craft my own armor than earn karma to buy the orr pieces, okay. I’ll see how that goes, I’m watching some leatherworking tutorials and I have to see how expensive it is to get the needed materials for it.

Let’s hope the devs will eventually realize that tings are not being fair to our class for now, and change some stuff around.
