I say just make the projectile speed increase to that of the ranger’s bow attacks and put some upfront damage on fire2 and earth2 so they can actually do something without waiting 5 seconds and things may improve dramatically. If not, explore the idea of giving staff some blast finishers to use with combo fields to add damage.

D/D Ele is the choice of ADHD sufferers world wide for stimulating game play.

It would probably add too much overhead given how poorly optimized the code seems to be at this time, but would this be a potential solution to break up balls without making things over powered on other situations?

AE damage hits 5 targets or 1/3rd of the players in the area of effect, whichever is greater (rounding up).

0-15 = 5 targets hit
16-18 = 6 targets hit
19-21 = 7 targets hit
22-24 = 8 targets hit

So on….

Your siege is 100% useless. It blocks trebuchets, catapults, ballistas, arrow carts, everything.

Who cares, attack multiple spots at the same time and make this useless. If they are protecting siege outside of the walls, then push out and get them or portal bomb them.

Not only that the heavy hitting AOE wasn’t ranged, it was pbaoe and you couldnt move while PBAOEing.

Yes, that is exactly how DAOC worked. It was feasible one for guy with really good AE to wipe a zerg if they all clumped up nicely.

Yeah, but the reason why is was fairly balanced in DAOC was due to the interrupt system. This game does not have that.

most people do not do, is QUICKLY fire off a 3-4 rotation combo in a group of people.
Example: Meteor Storm > Eruption > Shockwave > Ice Spike > Chain Lightning Spam.

You can get much better effect doing that differently. Just sayin.

This is what I’ve been thinking as well.

There’s no reason why they cant with traits, make the Ele have both the fast paced, attunement swapping builds everyone currently uses, and also a more static, fire or air mage where you mostly use one attunement, and swap occasionally for the odd CC or something.

There is no such thing as an even half way decent elementalist that only uses one attunement primarily.

Those thieves should have gotten assisted on and burst down when they left the ball, and ranged shouldn’t have been so squishy that they died to two thieves like that to begin with. Not only that, they weren’t even running a guardian and you still couldn’t crack it?

My favorite is 20 of us or so against 30-50 enemies. That seems to be a good number to withstand their sheer numbers long enough to out play them.

Turtle balls are incredibly easy to break. The only time they work is against noobs or when you have superior numbers, in which case you should win anyways given equal skill.

What’s up with all the elitism in this thread? Is there a new movement of superior elementalists that I never heard of? You don’t need to brag with your stats and keep your equipment hidden. There are excell sheets out there, where you can put all the gear and calculate your stats. Everybody can get the same equipment, if they are willing to spend the time and/or the money.

Post your gear, post your builds, so new players can decide which way to go and what gear to farm.

Feel free to whisper me in game and I will show you my exact gear in both my sets.

Most of the matches are balanced in North American (too lazy to check Europe) this week to a reasonable extent. They’ll put in guesting as soon as they can and probably put a fee on transfers then. I don’t actually lose sleep over it.

The only matches that you can say are truly balanced are Tier 3 and 5

Huge score differences usually reflect coverage issues more so than anything else. In my current matchup, we are generally ahead in points during NA prime time, however one of the other servers has a huge oceanic presence. Basically they get 500+ uncontested ppt outside of NA hours because there is nobody around to stop them.

We did lockdown reset. Sor was ticking at less then 130 ppt for hours. Pretty easy to do. Keep tw locked down in bg bl defending bay for hours while we take your stuff elsewhere. We had your garrison in sor bl and your keep in ebg before oceanic even started. It was so bad the cries of 2v1 started immediately.

Not sure what you are talking about, by the time I logged we were well ahead in points. Keep breast thumping though and complaining about why you get so much hate for your server. It amuses me.

I said points not score. I have always maintained that I care less about total score, because the only thing I have some control over is PPT during the times I am actually online. It should be obvious to you what I am referring to and thus my statement is accurate.

You gain score by a consistant point lead. After 3.5 hours, we had score lead of 800. Thats an average point lead of 57 per tick. Did you lead in points for 30 minutes? So no, still inaccurate.

Given that we were ticking at 100 more ppt than BG when I logged and I was referring to ppt, how can what I said be anything other than accurate?

Example: Like literally 1 time since I have transferred here has someone not had the needed siege. That is hardly half the time, more like 1/1000 of the time from my perspective.

I can now achieve 69% crit damage and 48% crit chance with food, and I still maintain 1661 toughness and 620 healing. If I switch up food I can have 59% crit damage, 48% crit chance and 720 healing, or 620 healing and 1771 toughness. I change food depending on how the day goes. Being kited by too many pistol thieves? More healing. Anyway, I’ve been considering using a sigil of bloodlust as opposed to what I’m using now, a superior sigil of corruption. I will have to test it out.

Similar to my alternate gear set when I want to see more big numbers for kicks. I drop toughness down some more than you for more vitality, 89% crit damage and 73% crit chance with aura/stacks.

Perception will add 12% more crit chance at full stacks btw.

This has been making the elementals worthless for a while now outside of PvE.

Also to the posters talking about taking condition damage. If you are cookie cutter bunker, you should never have conditions on you for more than a tick or two. You can afford to run less vitality if you want. I personally don’t, because I feel like I do way more damage being able to sustain it when fighting multiple opponents and the extra vit helps with that.

1700 ish toughness here and 20k health with food. 53% crit or so with auras. I have just enough heal power to keep my big heal at 2200. (700ish I believe does that, though I may be off some as I am at work and cant check)

Personally, I think adding any condition damage from gear is a total waste in WvW. Why add 3k+ damage (depending obviously) or so over time from bleed/burn ticks that can easily be removed, when a single crit on your big hitters is going to add that much more instantly. If we had more ways as a D/D to keep consistent stacks / more conditions on more people it would be worth it…. but umm yeah.

Edit: Thieves I guess, but who cares. They cant kill me alone anyways. I usually just ignore them if I am roaming alone.

Reset was back and forth all night. Pretty well fought and even until a little later in the evening. Pretty typical of reset night when everyone has equal forces out. BG up to 300+ ppt at one point, SoR at almost 400ppt at another, TC up in real high too at one point. good stuff.

I think it is more than a little ignorant to assume that BG doesn’t have very good NA presence and that our SEA/Oceanics are the only reason we are winning.

Its tough to say whether or not it is the only reason when we simply dont know. I can tell you that right now it is the reason beyond a shadow of a doubt though. All day long while I am at work, we lose 400-600ppt as our borderlands sit empty. Our doors and npc guards are a horrible defense. It is an impossible deficet to make up during NA prime time when we have to actually fight other players.

Yanno, I find it interesting, SoR, that you don’t seem to understand how much damage BG is doing to both of us. We have both been attacking Stonemist, true, and we’ve both broken through on different fronts… maybe not the inner gate on your end (As far as I know) but still…

So then why are you sending zerg forces at Ogrewatch? We’ve been trying to hold our forces back off you. Through a combined two-pronged assault we could probably be able to wipe out the forces in Stonemist Keep. Then of course fight each other for whoever ends up owning it in the end, yes, but still…

At this point I don’t care who has Stonemist as long as BG doesn’t still have it fortified and waypointed by tomorrow morning.

Anyways, nice double team with BG on us in SOR BL. Good tactic to stay out of each others way and hit us at the same time all night, it worked well. Really had our backs to the wall all night.

Besides, SOR just needs an oceanic presence to stop the PvDoor and it would be competing for first every week.
