Pretty anti-climatic to just find her hanging on the vine – at least there could have been a cutscene to document what happened to her. I agree that her death was premature, if we had gotten to know her better maybe sympathy or empathy with Marjory would have been greater.
This part of the LS was the most confusing thus far. After I figured out where the arrow cart was, it went alright. As far as the Mordrem Thrasher boss, better instructions would have been better – like saying on the side bar "protect minions and attack when shield down instead of Jory’s annoying voice somewhat overshadowed by the music. Unfortunately when I was supposed to regroup w/Belinda in Fort Salma, I tried to jump thru the Bone Shield/bunker and was totally stuck as in could not get out of it, so I’ll have to do it again. (have tried 3 times and failed LOL) – stupid Ranger sword movement.
Actually, I did the Marionette quite often without dying, the Hologram not as well, but doable depending on the group. The Aerin fight was horrible, but was completed. And, I loved the Bazaar of the Four Winds where the aspects were based on # of charges and not timed. I’m still in my 60’s, but learning new things is important, at least to me. When I stop learning new things they can put me in the ground. <smile>
Okay, so this might sound rude, and I apologize if you take it that way, but it’s sincerely an honest question.
How?
What was it about Marionette that allowed you to stay alive, if not easily, moderately well, yet the jumps (which, again, most of the jumps start from right on top of a crystal which gives you more than enough time to even miss a few jumps) cause a big issue?
Because from my experience with Marionette, most of the fights required you to position yourself constantly and be ready to evade attacks at a moment’s notice. How were you able to do that, but not these jumps?
Also, I take it from your mention of the Bazaar that you would be more acceptable of this content if the crystals only had the limitation of charges, rather than have a timer?
Marionette was a fight, and I am capable of dodging, moving correctly, and fighting. The jumps in the new LS 2 are much harder for me, partially because of not knowing exactly where to go being a new area and yes, the timed aspects added to the difficulty.
So for argument’s sake, let’s say they removed the timer and made it so that you had as much time as you wanted to make the jumps. Would that make it easy, then? Then you wouldn’t have to be concerned about not knowing where to go, as you could take the time to plan out your course.
Yes, it would be much easier. And, I do appreciate your screenshots – will be referring to them for my alts.

As a side note, after hours and many deaths I finished the “Gates of Maguuma” cheeve, but skipping the rest for the aforementioned reasons. Besides, I have many costumes to make for my children & gs for Comic Con in Sept. Farewell!
Wow, although I applaud Anet for deleting much of the condescending, insulting, and downright mean posts to “us anti-jumpers”, I wish they’d not compiled all threads started into this mess of a thread. I don’t recall anywhere in the previous threads where those of us who were disappointed to learn that LS2 would only be accessible thru jumping asked for it to be taken out, only asked that it perhaps not be timed or if there would be an alternative path to take into consideration the real limitations of some players. And, no one was asking for sympathy, just explaining our views concerning forced “timed” jumping in the LS 2 and why certain content may be skipped by some. I’m a deliberate and slow jumper who struggles with timed jumps (not dodging or combat) Personally, I would not care if they added 100 JP’s to the game, but I’d love some new dungeons.
To Filiha I cannot prove to you which jumps are difficult, because they all are for myself personally. Unless you want photos of dead players <g>. If you want to challenge yourself, I suggest you cover one eye with a patch and the screen with vellum, add to that 40 years (along with the lack of sharp reflexes), pain using your hands and the anxiety of not knowing where to go. Not sure what you meant by circular assertions. BTW, PVP has nothing to do with map completion, it is WvW.
To Elden, Teofa and Raenzjar, and others – I appreciate your pleading the case of LS2 jumping, and am sorry for the abuse you received in this thread by others who cannot possible see anyone’s point but their own.
And, before someone complains about Anet shouldn’t have to cave to “casual” players, I’d hardly call someone with 6k hrs., 12- 80’s (3 on their way) , 9k AP, who’s done every dungeon at least once (COE 100’s of times) in 18 months, and gotten the gift of battle the “hard way”, casual.
Thank you to those who have re-affirmed my lack of faith in humanity. My consolation is that you will all be old one day and perhaps wiser.
BTW,PVP has absolutely NOTHING to do with map completion, WvW does.
Agreeing with Mashedpotato. First time I tried it, after an hour & dying 4 times, looked here for advice. The second time I tried, once Aerin started popping that shield it took 5 crystals, and once he was down to about 10-15% HP it took 8 crystals to break the shield. The preliminary fight using the crystals was similar. Unless I was using them wrong. Do you press 2 run into his field and 2 again until you run out of charge time?
Thank you Dulfy!!!!!! You’re the coolest!
Thank you so much Dulfy for all that you have done for GW2 players!
Due to the megaserver there will always be people in every map. That is how it works, fill up a map, and start a new one. Thus, there will always be players where you are.
As far as LS 2 – there are those who like the challenge of jumping (aspected), and many who don’t. tbh I’d rather fight than jump.
I agree with the OP on what GW2 needs to do to not only survive but thrive.
And my point is that your metric is flawed as far as what you’re classifying as option and what is mandatory. For instance, you can still level to 80. And you could not complete the Flame and Frost story if you couldn’t jump accurately (the story instance would not be passable if your entire group died to the bosses that required significant amounts of jumping).
My point is, I understand your point that you would like to participate without having to jump. I’m not taking issue with that point. I’m taking issue with the point where you seem to say that the jumping skill requirement is somehow new. It is not.
Where exactly was jumping skill with aspects included in the Flame and Frost story last year? I may have forgotten that part, altho I did finish all of it to get the title “Avenger of the Dispossessed”.
(edited by dkspins.4670)
The point of the thread, is being forced to use jumping and aspects to progress in Living Story Season 2. It has gotten a little derailed by trolling.
And several other releases over the years have FORCED swift reactions or color-vision. Things that can’t really be trained up (in case of colorblindness).
Jumping on the other hand CAN be trained and made possible.
As I said in another thread, talk to me when you’re 60 and see how well you jump, especially using the aspects that are now timed at 15seconds, rather than # of usages as in the original Lab. Cliffs last year. I mean, I can do okay on JP if I have time to figure out where I need to be. Jumping puzzles are difficult for some of us. But I can fight like a mutha LOL
Music and Taimi , period
I love jumping puzzles.
When I know I’m in one.
Because then I can stop if I get frustrated. Also, seriously, kitten Zephyrites. Am I the only one utterly detached from EVERY character ever involved in LS since Last year? If Majory got kitten d by Ulgoth and torn to shreds by earth ele, you know what my FIRST thought would be?!
“… …Soooo, Ulgoth, are you still up for 21:30? Cause, you know… gotta kill you and kitten. But! But, if you need to like clean or something, like, you do that first”
Because kittening ULGOTH is a more memorable character for me.
And he’d be all like “Niighhh!!! Sure thing Human scum!”
Also Dkspins, that’s crazy, you playing Guildwars made me smirk, it really is diverse in here I +1’d. Also totally agree.
Thanks Omar Aschi Popp! Tell me, is Ulgoth up for 21:30 – Love that guy! Gonna go check him out in a few! And no, you are not the only one detached from the Biconics & Zephyrites (but I do like Taimi – she may not look like much but she’s smarter than we think)
The music is the best thing the new LS has going for it!
Talk to me in 30 years when you’re over 60 and can’t coordinate the jumps. Whoever said that jumping was added (perhaps in another thread) to the LS last year was dead wrong. There is a timer now on the skills (there was NOT in the original Lab. Cliffs, only a usage skill fact, i.e. 10 times to use before you had to find another crystal).
I am a slow deliberate player doing jumping puzzles who has done just fine in EVERY dungeon, dodges well, etc. And I loved the original Lab. Cliffs last year during the Evon/Kiel campaign. This new direction is unacceptable in my eyes, feeble as they might be. <smile> I really was hoping for more open world events like last year where I actually felt any emotion towards the protagonists.
But please don’t say you can learn, for some of us that ship has sailed. Back to FF & SR
I’m in total agreement Baldrick, I absolutely despise jumping puzzles and fail at them miserably (I’m older as well, like in my 60’s) and most that I’ve finished I’ve had help from kind mesmers, despite playing 5.5k hrs. There are already 25 jumping puzzles in the game. But, I realize they cannot please everyone.
For myself, I feel no emotional investment towards the Biconics (aka Destiny’s Edge v 2.0) and even less towards the Zephyrites. There is nothing occurring storywise in the open world as in LS 1 that players under l. 80 are able to do as before. Last year, the kick-off was riveting and I really felt badly for the Charr and Norn who’d lost their homes – this year meh. I’ll keep d/l ing the patches, hope that one of my dd’s who plays the game or my son in laws can help me finish puzzles involved and/or wait for a Dulfy guide.
I especially do not like having to jump using those stupid crystals (I suck at jumping, I’m old, so sue me) maybe Dulfy will come out with a guide within a couple of days with a friggin map. The first little bit w/fighting Inquest was fun, but it’s lame that you can stand on top of the dragon and he just breathes while youu’re in Dry Top. And I was hoping that as last year, there would be events to do in the open world.
On the positive side, since alot of players are doing LS2 the world events like MAW, SB, etc. are alot more fun and even challenging since there aren’t 100+ players trying to get their share of the pie
As in expansion? then no. But the new Living Story Season 2 which starts tomorrow July 1 will be permanent content. Not sure what it will be, but am looking forward to it. I’ve close to 6k hours in game and still haven’t done everything there is to do. Like Danicat above, I enjoy the story like talking to the NPC’s, personal story missions, and have 2 AC paths to go before I get dungeon master. I’ve all professions to 80, and dupes in some. For me it’s about the journey, not the destination. Enjoy the ride,
One suggestion I have is to join a guild after a bit. It’s much more fun to run with others. Have fun!
Dont touch the combat that is the best part about this game the thing they need to touch is the balance of skills no the combat.Combat is incredibly fluid and responsive and non other mmo or rpg or mmorpg have combat as good as this 1.
no other mmo? Ever heard of Vindictus or Blade&Soul? Heck even Tera has a system closer to real action combat. I don’t get how people think 1 dodge button revolutionizes mmo gameplay….
I absolutely hate this style of combat. I never played shooters and i hate when i can’t move my mouse without moving the whole screen. Also i need to have the possibility to click my skills with the mouse. And the thing that each swing with your weapon drags you forward was also totally annoying for me.
My biggest fear before i could actually play GW2 the first time was that they could have a combat system like those games, because then i would have deleted the game after maybe 1 hour like i did with Vindictus, Neverwinter, DCUO .. Tera i managed at last to play for 3 days .. but in the end the combat was more like a physical pain for me.
You can play Gw2 without using the Mouse to click skills. You SHOULD Play Gw2 without using the Mouse to click skills.
Using your Mouse to click skills, will make you less effective.
I’m 50 .. i never learned typing so i use 4 fingers to type now and have to look constantly onto the keyboard to not hit the wrong keys. So thats why i prefer to click skills with the mouse.
So please don’t tell me how i should play .. thats as much helpful as telling me : you should play guitar as Al Di Meola.
Not quite. If you wish to play by clicking skills with the Mouse, that is your choice, but then don’t complain that you are not as effective as if you just clicked the 2 key, or used a proper gaming Mouse.
One can complain about the layout of the marathon course, but if one insists on Hopping the entire way on one leg, one doesn’t really have a leg to stand on.
Have i complained ? Or at least have i complained about GW2 ? Now i haven’t,
i have only said that i DON’T want a shooter like combat like Vindictus.I would only complain if they change that like some people here want.
So if people complain here, in my eyes it are those that want to turn GW2
into another Vindictus or FF XYZ or whatever.
I totally agree with you Beldin! And, no you did not complain, just expressed your concerns. If Anet turned this into another FFXIV where there are 20+ individual weapon skills per class, that would be the day I quit playing.
I understand your having to deal with the keyboard, altho I was lucky enough to be a secretary in the old days (yes, gals, that’s what we were called) so I knew my way around the kb. And, I do have one of those “newfangled” multi-button mouses which I’m having difficulty learning (lack of brain cells being over 60) LOL . But, I guess us old fogies shouldn’t be playing video games according to others, unless we play the way they think we should play (interesting tho the comments were from someone who doesn’t play anymore). Poppykitten, play the way you want!
That said, I enjoy GW2 because of its ease of play compared to other games, and I would truly hate for it to alter the combat system after all this time.
Best part of GW2 is that I can play exactly how I want, with 15 toons, 13 of those 80’s 5.5K hours, but not required to do this quest, then the next, not have to roll for dungeon rewards, etc. I can play the game my way and don’t have to spend a dime if I don’t want to do so.
Worst: The toxicity of the forums, people who say they’ve left to play other games, yet continue posting why they hate the game so much and how WoW is so much better, etc. Seriously, just leave already. Truth is, I don’t care. Decided it’s best for me to just not check the forums, save for the class part as well as release notes.
I fairly certain that Anet is slowly building up to LS2, they’ll have something about poi’s tomorrow and Lion’s Arch Lament next week. The videos they’ve been releasing, I would imagine, are for new players to let them know what happened last season, summarizing the effects of Scarlet’s actions and we shall see what they choose to show.
Seeing how it’s 11 days away, I’d imagine they will be releasing more info about LS2 shortly before.
Sheesh! People complain when ArenaNet shows future content and when they don’t. Can’t win I suppose.
“Scarlet’s war” did change the face of Tyria. And, I did cry when Lion’s Arch was destroyed. The night before the attack, I joined my guild and so many others on top of the Lion knowing he would be gone. I actually took pictures of all my toons (13 at the time) in LA despite not really hanging out too much there, but map chat was always entertaining. Look at the changes to Kessex Hills as well. And soon we will have a new dragon and/or its’ minions/champs to deal with.
Sure there were parts I didn’t care for, but the majority was entertaining and her attacks in most of Tyria were lucrative. F&F was also good. The ending of her “war” was so-so.
I think they (Anet) are just trying to tie S1 into S2 – The players who’ve been here 14 months know what happened, new players don’t.
OP: But when you say “all your fans” thought it was average… Hmm please don’t speak for me. Just because you weren’t bedazzled by S1, doesn’t mean everyone else feels the same as you. I, for one, am looking forward to S2.
yeah, so.. basically { see attachment }
Its a joke that you think only Com tag free events are where players “coordinate and participate”.
I’m in favor of an option for players to turn off the Commander tag visual from maps if they so choose. Otherwise this thread is nothing but people kittening for the sake of kittening.
Man I wish there was a way I didn’t have to deal with these PvE commander tag haters on this thread.
Oh wait now… there is! IGNORE
Would be amazing if that same tactic could translate over to PvE tags in GW2. Just AMAZING.
If I could, I would +1000
I use my tag exclusively for guild events/missions/etc. and rarely pop it unless I’m helping random players with what they request, as it is easier telling them to “come to my tag” than saying I’m NNW of this waypoint. As it stands, I’m trying to learn how to lead in WvW slowly.
These threads pop up often, but I couldn’t resist replying <g>.
It could just be me but, since the launch of the megaserver, it appears, to me at least, that more people are playing.
Yes, you are seeing more players on each map, yet the total number of players is smaller than a month and a half ago. Anet gave us the Megazerger 2 months ago without checking it’s viability as well as what effects it would have on the player base. Personally I know of at least 15 people who have stopped playing (thus, buying no gems) in the past 2 months. But yeah, the world looks rosy since maps are fuller, it’s just that we’re condensed.
Fast forward a couple of months, and where are we? Anet have fallen almost completely silent, meanwhile very little has changed in terms of the Megaserver.
But they havent. They still post and ask for feedback from the community about other things. For instance, we’ve just recently had dev threads asking about build templates and balance feedback.
To me, this is was makes the silence on a change to the game’s dynamic as fundamental as the mega server so hurtful, confusing, and appalling.
My falling silent comment was referring to the Megaserver system and feedback only. But you are right, it is a kick in the teeth that perhaps the biggest issue in the game (certainly the most hotly debated) is being all but completely ignored by Anet.
You are correct, it is a kick in the teeth that after 43 pgs. on this thread, as well as 20+ pages on the RP thread, and another 20 pages on the World Boss/Guild/Megaserver pages have not been remotely addressed by Anet, except the one message on this thread saying “we have a team looking into it”. I believe they were hoping that the complainers would just disappear or fade into the mists. It would hold alot more water if one of the devs were to post ANYTHING on this thread. As it stands …
There is not one dev who mains a Ranger, which is quite obvious since Ranger class only had about 5-6 minutes on the ready up. I’m still not sure why they said Ranger had the strongest long rang single target damage of the game when Engie is better, warriors are stronger with a LB. tbh, I’m quite disgusted.
They do not want to acknowledge the pet’s deficency and liability at times. A pet who cannot dodge damage is a liability/weakness. Even if they were to program a mechanic or method to make them dodge, I’d be happy.
Sadly they think we’re just fine as the pariah of the professions.
I left the game as well, completely uninstalled it.
Why? Because there was nothing for me to do that I found enjoyable any longer. Before you start with the anti train nonsense, no, I do NOT mean the trains. I did do the trains once in awhile, but not for the loot. I did them as an easy way to get the dailies out of the way, and for the fun of it. Yup, you heard that right, FUN. Playing and chatting with your fellow players is fun and that is the reason I play multiplayer games.
When I would log on, I would check the dailies required and gear my play time to getting them done as well as doing world events. World events where fun and if I could get dailies done that way, great!
After the megaservers and the time changes, I was rarely able to do any world events at all. The world bosses became nothing more then huge zergs with so much going on the screen, it was impossible to even see the boss. Then there where the “bosses” that died in seconds, LOL!
Farming? I gathered pretty much everything I saw and salvaged anything that would give me magic find. I had a very nice collection of rares sitting in inventory, massive amounts of almost all materials, and gold, I needed nothing.
I had full ascended armor, weapons and trinkets. The only thing I did not have was a legendary, but there was not a single one I would want to use, so that was not a goal.
So what was there for me to do?
Skins? I have been using the same armor and weapon skins since launch, I like the way I look.
Wvw/Pvp? No. Been there, done that and not willing to deal with the toxic community.
Dungeons? Again, been there, done that.
World events? See above.
Living story? Yes, there was that. Unfortunately much of it was so incredibly bug ridden it was not enjoyable to play and what was enjoyable, was removed too quickly.
Titles? Yeah! I like titles! I spent YEARS getting titles in GW1. Sounds good, until you realize just how incredibly BORING killing 1000 of any single creature is or clicking on something 10s of thousands of times until your fingers bleed.
I loved the GW franchise. I have multiple copies of all GW1 chapters and collectors editions of all and the collectors edition of GW2. GW2 is not Guild Wars. It’s fast becoming a poor WoW clone with better graphics. I watch. I hope. But I seriously doubt there will ever be anything to make me want to reinstall it again.
I miss you Shining Squirrel (fellow former guildie of yours) I can understand why you left, but don’t understand why I’m still here LOL. I guess I just keep holding out hope for something new as in content. ::sigh::
Still I do miss you and wish you well – Beetey

I also love the craft of cooking and finding new recipes to do. Yeah, I could look it up on various sites, but discovering is much more fun. This applies to the potions as well from Artificing.
-Is it really adding to your overall experience? Yes, I’ve experimented running with and without – definitely prefer adding some vitality for difficult events/tasks.
-Does it make things too easy? I don’t think so.
-Do I always use it? Why? Yes, especially in dungeons with the potions. It does help
-Do I usually win 1v1 fights against those who don’t use it? I hate PvP
-Do I craft my own for fun? Or just buy it off the TP? I craft it myself primarily, or buy from TP if I don’t have ingredients. However I do use Quality Maintenance Oil/Sharpening Stones/Crystals rather than Master since I need that Crystalline Dust.
-Do I offer it to other people when I see them without it? Why? Of course! Alot of players don’t think about using F&N (esp. my daughter). Like others, if I’m in a dungeon I check the icons and offer those players something they could use. And, why, the answer should be obvious. If it helps, why not offer party members/friends/guildies something to make their experience better. Undead slaying potions are quite useful in Arah.
I do not in the least find it tedious to make them or even to buy them. Those who don’t use F&N whatever the reason, forgetfulness, laziness, being cheap, etc. do so at their own responsibility.
Currently, I play another MMO with friends in EU on an EU server and experience similar lag for the last 6 months. Haven’t noticed an increase in lag, but it’s a different game, so I don’t know if would increase in GW2. Playing with friends (at least for me) outweighs the lag.
Definitely agree about playing how and with whatever professions you wish! Like you I’ve at least 1 of every class, all 80’s. About the Ranger, I have 4 of them, 3 are 80’s. Hands down my favorite class to play. Yes, you’ll find discrimination against the ranger. Best advice is to really learn to play the class well, including pet mgmt., and join a largish guild so you’ll have folk to run dungeons with whenever you want.
TA and HotW are easy with ranger, and I’ve only ever run fractals with mine.
Gear up your favorites the best you can, as you wish. Leave the rest, gear them up with drops. One thing tho, having lots of 80’s makes gathering Empyreal fragments should you wish to make ascended weapons or armor, a lot quicker.
what a horrible idea OP! I’ve got AP, but about 20 gold. Outfitting 16 toons is like having a gazillion kids, expensive! A couple of silver isn’t a big deal, but sure as anything I’d park a toon at each event and never leave if it were more. Not a big deal to anyone else, but I’d quit playing. However, I would venture to say Anet might miss the 30$ a month in gems that I spend LOL
On Maw, the biggest things are:
1. do not rez anyone! takes away from your personal deps
2. do not close portals, immediately go to the boss and start pounding on him.
those two things sadly should get you a champ box in addition to the main chest and little shaky chest in the corner.
Haven’t done Modnir Ulgoth, due to others complaints. Orr is a problem with the defense/offense issues. I don’t join random parties often, altho I hear it’s better for the loot. My toons are mainly Zerkers.
My ref to #1 is probably one of the saddest thing about the megaserver World Boss issues ( which Anet has ignored and not responded). Everyone vying for the teeniest little loot has made players into piranha – but there’s only so much to go around. People rarely revive others, although I tell myself not to do so it’s been ingrained in me. <g>
Do far it’s a crapshoot, unless you follow steps #1 and 2.
Thanks Anet!
This situation is pathetic, people started to sell the taxi for the pavilion where they do gold challenge. I think that this kitten is not correct, then Anet take measures pls
Welcome to the wonderful world of open world coordinated zerg content.
Because raids are not social and only for mean and bad elitists ^-^Actually it’s;
Welcome to the great and powerful megaservers.
You are spot on, Mudbone! I’d buy thousands of gems if I could get my server back. Yanno, a place where you know alot of names, if not the players themselves. I remember awhile back my guild had an elitist who was selling Arah, and berating other players whilst doing so. Needless to say, his kitten tude was kicked to the curb haha
I could swear that some of the voices here were off for the joys of WoW or some such, hopefully not to return.
But, there are a few who have quit the game and still check the forums. tbh, I don’t think that spending $ for gems is going to make a difference in quality, after having spent twice the p2p sub cost the entire previous year esp. after the “QoL” feature patch which imo totally wrecked everything. But I do know at least 10 good friends who’ve stopped playing, several with end-game items, legendaries, etc. They were bored. We shall see what the next few months hold, and I’ll pass the word along on if the content is worth returning for. Of course, I’d love for them to return.
Am not on TC, but guest and will ultimately move. Had started a little RP’ing w/former guildmates most of which were on TC and have since moved on. Is there a website with guilds who still RP and want new members, despite the Megakitten?
This website is still very active from the looks of it, and has a subforum for guild recruitment: http://www.guildwars2roleplayers.com/home
Thank you so much!
I am beyond weary of these threads, where the OP says “do rangers suck?” “smelly solid waste”, ad nauseum. Granted there are alot of crappy rangers out there, as well as the nerfs we’ve received over the past year and the horrible AI of our pets. Rangers have that horrible stigma “bearbow” attached to them. But, I’ve seen some awesome rangers who run with bears.
Earlier in the thread, some one was talking about swiftness. Aside from Engineers who have speedy kits, the only 2 classes who cannot equip a signet for speed are Guardians and Mesmers, who have to rely on their weapons (staff and focus, respectively) to gain a speed buff. Everyone can use runes to gain swiftness. I can run using SoH as fast as a thief using their signet. Not that that makes any difference.
I will say that of all the classes Ranger is my fave (I’ve 4 of them, 3 80’s and 1 30 and about 2500 hrs. as one) as well as at least one (some more) of every other class at level 80. One thing alot of rangers don’t do, is pet management, which is vital to any ranger’s success. Like it or not, they are a part of us and really can’t be ignored. IMO, rangers are cake to level, but difficult to master well. Ele’s and Mes’s are much harder to level, but cake at 80.
As far as PVP, there are Rangers on highly ranked teams. Have had alot of success 1v1 against most classes, esp. thief. Depends on the player, but I’ve seen some truly awesome rangers in PVP.
People can think what they will about Rangers, I don’t really care. We’ve waited for changes by Anet, and maybe someday they’ll come about. Assignment of various traits need to be reassessed. One can only hope…

Sadly, Anet seems fine with just addressing concerns with LS2 and have chosen to ignore the big fat elephant in the room, namely the megaserver. That, in and of itself, is quite disheartening. Nearly 2 months is more than enough time for them to speak of the cough: QOL cough feature patch in April. It’s sad, since they’ve lost so many players due to their reticence. ::sigh::
Seriously? I know that alot of people didn’t get squat from S2. Better to delay then…
The only surprise that Anet (or rather gift) is to end the MS altogether so I can get with my peeps regularly. A girl can dream…
Yes, rangers are positively OP! Need more nerfs. Now if we “command” our pets to use attack or f-2 they will revive the mobs or enemy players. And if we command them to return they will jump off the nearest cliff YAY! (that would be better)
Seriously from what I’ve read, the patch (if there is one) will be about the Mistforged weapons and fixes for the WvW season that just ended.
On the first page of the thread, Satharina added up all the skimpy vs. non skimpy armor. (thank you!) For women, it tallies Light: 1/2, Medium 1/7 (altho there are lower cut chestpieces), and Heavy 1/4. For the men, I’d love it if Anet could allow male characters to hide their chestpieces. <g>
I’m pretty certain that this is a fantasy game. Being born in the middle of the previous century I’ve not seen a single dragon, harpy, nor devourer. However, for the Light armor classes of female toons, I’d suggest a Devout garb for total coverage. And for the Heavy classes, Scale, Reinforced Scale, or Guild Defender to avoid those unsightly breast-cups that several have complained about, although they will flatten one right out and there is the issue of the larger derriere. Medium armor wearers should avoid the t-3 Human at all costs, most of the rest of the trenchcoats will do nicely.
Seriously, tho I voted #1 especially concerning the lack of feminine skimpy if you will Medium armor, and would also love to see more love shown to females of the Charr and Asura, as well as to the male toons as far as choices of armor.
Yes, I am a woman, a mother, even a grandmother (gasp), former card-carrying member of NOW, voted for ERA in 72. As I said before, GW2 is a fantasy game, people should not expect realism in such.
Agreed. Yes, there have been 41 pages in this thread, another 20 or so in the MS-RP thread, and more in the 3rd thread lumping Guild/MS/World Events, etc. I’m certain that Anet will not rescind their decision on the Megaserver, altho I truly wish they would. Today, whilst levelling a brand new player asked if I was on BG server and I tried to explain the MS. They asked if they could level with me, I said sure! and off we went. As I was explaining some of the ins and outs of the game, levelling in QD I dc’d. Of course, I had no idea what MS we were both on, and we weren’t in a party. Had to log, re-log several times, guested to BG and after several minutes found the person again so we could continue.
Due to my certainty that Anet will not revert back to the old system, it would be helpful if they could institute a flag or something above, say the chat box that shows which server one was on. Anywhere on the screen would be great so that problems like reconnecting with someone wouldn’t be such a hassle.
If I had my druthers, I would rather them go back to the old ways, pre-MS when the World Bosses/Events weren’t Zerg fests. The absolute most memorable moments for me in GW2 were 4 of us on FA fighting Tequatl (pre-buff) for nearly 30 minutes before a few others showed up at 7:30am and two other players and I doing the Maw (after buff). It wasn’t that we did it for the loot, it was for the fight itself, as well as the satisfaction that we did were successful (after much reviving). Now many of the World bosses are just show up, tag a few times, and call it a day – Can you say boring?
I miss my home server, and being able to do missions, and not be one of a hundred out for a crappy loot drop from a boss.
Interesting experiment, Xovian. <smile> I can do my makeup in 2 minutes, and my hair in 2 or less (having children will do that to you LOL). You’re quite correct, the sexes are different. – Was trying to teach my SO to play (he’s since quit playing), and his responses over what armor he wore, were always “I don’t care”. ::sigh::
The T3 Cultural human chestpiece is what I wear on my thief, and I love it. Most medium armors are trenchcoats which I despise. I’m a woman, my toons are all female, and I want them to look like female, eos. Your wife and daughter have good taste <smile>
Stupidly on my part, I had 14 chests of PVP stuff I hadn’t opened in the bank (I don’t care for PVP or WvW) that sadly disappeared when the 4/15 patch hit. If they come back, it will be in the Gem Store
What i really would like to know is how many of the voters are actually women.
Female here, voted #1, esp want to see new non-trenchcoat medium armor
This is a fantasy game, everyone should be able to dress how they want, and can for the most part. I’d love to see more interesting medium armor other than trenchcoats. Don’t want to look like Carmen San Diego. The scale heavy armor does not have cups for the person who was concerned about it. I like the skimpy armor for all weights of armor. Hmmm, I’m a woman, voted for ERA in 72, playing only female characters. It’s a fantasy game after all, and is quite PG compared to other games out there.
That’s an excellent suggestion Tolmos! I’d just started getting into RP with a friend from TC when the megaserver hit. Bad timing. But what I’d done was so much more fun than do this heart, do this event, map exploration, yadda.
Danica of Anet just posted on the other MS thread that they have a team dedicated to the solution of the MS problems.
If they would just make one per NA or EU strictly RP I’d gladly pay the 30$ US to transfer to it.
