GS/Axe will never be op in pvp at least not now. It has now uniqe usage in a teamcomp and is just inferior to classic mesmer/thief comps. Especally when chronomancer hits.
Not to mention that GS/Axe warrior will probably be a wasted spot if you consider how many strong builds will get introdcued with HoT: Reaper,Chrono,Druid,Revenent etc.
No place for a warrior using gimmick-builds.

Atm. Shoutbow is meta and not Gs/axe and Shoutbow is the only reason why you would ever bring a warrior in the current pvp state. Everything else is just suboptimal in comparison with other classes.

After I had said that you would only beat bad eles with that, you told me how bad/unexperienced I have to be that I don’t see how well an axe warrior works against cele eles. Further you confirmed tarcis post that zerk warr has a 50%/60%/70% winchance against eles which implies that zerk warrior should ushually win against cele ele.

A mesmer makes zerk warriors suboptimal- because they’re inferior in a teamcomp -simple as that.

Every team has a thief… so…. mes/thief > warr/thief – I just said thief/mes because it’s the classic paintrain combination.

Much better burst, instant skills, blinks, portal, stealth etc. Zerk warrior doesn’t even come close to the potential a thief/mes comp provides.

If a zerk class would have a 50%, 60% or 70% winrate against even pointholders, I’m pretty curious why not a single top team except Radioactive ( if you even consider them top tier) is playing with zerk warriors.
I still think that zerk warrior works well in combination with a bunkerguard against thief/mes comps but beside that it is atm. just a wasted spot and inferior to mes/thief in every aspect. But let’s see what the patch brings along.

Options to avoid a shield / eviscerate combo:
-use elexir s
-use your second elexier s
-blind the warrior before
-chill the warrior before
-knock him with rifle
-dodge it
-tank it and heal up

zerk engineer has a tough time against zerk warriors that’s true but it’s not a 1v1 build to fight on nodes and has even problems against thiefs – so why even bothering

a soldier engineer on the other hand should win against zerk warrior easily

teamcomp-wise mace is defintly better just because of the utllity it offers. Long stuns, weakness, interrupts etc.
A zerk warrior with axe/gs is just an inferior form of a mes/thief comp.

Especially with the shield buff Mace-warrior could be used on the one hand as roamer to +1 people and on the other hand as pointholder to a certain extent. Allthough I have to admit that I really doubt that this is gonna happen.
There are coming out so many strong builds like chronomancer,reaper – maybe even druid – that I don’t think that builds like mace or axe warrior will ever have a place in serious teamcomps.

Yes, maybe it will become more common after ele nerf but I really doubt this. After the ele nerf shoutbow will be just too good than playing anything beside that. And why would you want to bring a zerk warr if you can have a thief + mesmer in your composition. Especally chronomancer will outperform zerk warriors in every aspect in combination with thief.

That’s why I wrote LoS/Disengage. Rousing Resilience will make shoutwarr way more strong. You already took this trait aginst bursty thief/mes comps over cleansing ire. If you use this trait after the patch a “shake it off” will heal you about 5khp + 1000 toughness – that’s insane against powercomps

But probably people like Alköre and Rom etc are just lacking in skill and are worse than you.
I’m curious why you actually don’t get offers from those top teams to join. I mean you would be very valuable in those teams – cap close and kill the crossing ele.

Quite simple. On point. Autoattack till about half hp (axe) whilst keeping preassure with stab. Wait with burst so he can’t pull out after. Frenzy then said combo and dead.

yep sounds pretty much like the basic rotation which I’m using with my shoutbow aswell against eles.
One difference is that I’m using geomancy/doom on lb – so everytime he’s on waterattunement spam sowrd autoattack and swap weapons for the geo/doom proc right after he left waterattunement. Using lb #4 and #5 and sword leap #2 only if you have placed your firefield to get might / additonal burning. And watch out when the ele is on earth, he can disable your firefield which is a huge disadvantage for you.

Bad eles will die if you use this basic rotation, decent eles don’t care about your rotation and good eles have a rotation themselves.

Asked Blackjack in my guild about zerkwarr vs ele and got this response:

@online: read my post , I have written why tarcis won the “1v1s”. First one he resetted the fight and won by a lucky eviscerate and bad plays from the ele and second one he won with rampage.

And to stalemate eles you don’t have to play your self proclaimed banner shoutwarr. Every shoutbow build -doesn’t matter if cele or settler – can stalemate eles in a 1v1. But none of those builds will win against an ele unless he’s terrible.

I really doubt that even in the NA scene phantaram would ever lose a 1v1 on a node against an axe potato warrior in a serious tournement game unless he’s using rampage
And recommending people to play WvW-builds in pvp because you would kill eles with those builds is not just a lie it’s pathetic.

Using Gs /Axe is just bad in tpvp and a wasted slot unless you are in WvW/Hotjoin and pls stop trying to tell those people that you would handle eles with that build. With that build you can deal with bad eles and other than that if you can land some lucky eviscerate.
Zerk warriors work well against thief/mes comps and is terrible against sustained comps like duable/tripple ele and especally in a 1v1.

Zerker is best to deal with them. If u can’t out dps their sustain it’s worthless, and they sure can out dps your heal sig. They don’t, unlike warr, have factors that make defensive stats redundant, such as invuln, in this case, the stances. Sure, mist form, but they don’t dps mid mist form, thus also making dps stats redundant.
Evis warr wasted slot? LOL! I suppose u crawled out of shoutbow and found yourself dominated, without such carry, that it’s all of a sudden ‘unviable’. Tell me then how for example Anastarcis , and Team Radioactive, who played/play two Evis warrs.

Tarcis killed one ele in his video with rampage after the second attempt and resetting the fight – the other ele died due to a lucky eviscerate.
WTS has shown how zerk warrior does not work against sustained duable ele comps.And everybody has already known that it’s just worse than a thief/mes comp before WTS even had started.

But I’m sure Rom who tried zerk warr against Kervs ele 24/7 is just worse than you and didn’t notice that zerk warrior wins against ele lol.
You will lose every node and every 1v1 against decent elementalists on a certain skillvl which is one of the reasons why Rom swapped to shoutbow – that he won’t lose in a 1v1, but can stalemate them in a 1v1. Zerk warrior is gimmick and I would never recommend anybody to play this in serious tournements etc unless eles get nerfed.
And if you consider mes/thief comps, potato axe warrior is indeed a wasted slot in comparison and I’ll never understand why you ever would bring a zerk warrior with roaming builds unless you can not play anything else besides that.

You can defeat bad eles who eat every single pindown much faster if you would do a proper rotation or rather if you would do a rotation at all.
Means using geomancy/doom proc when he leaves water attunement, leaping with sword 2 through the firefield for might and not using lb f1 when he’s reflecting on earth, etc.

And no without Banner you wouldn’t have lost. Unless you are even worse than this ele but I really doubt that this is even possible.With three shouts you stalement them at the same way like your build does.

If the ele is using hoelbrak and life leech sigill even a cele necro shouldnt kill an ele and if you fight on nodes where you have a lot of los opportunities like on legacy waterfall they will hold also most of 2v1s .You actually have to use your thief to +1 the ele it you want to win the nodes

Beside that the key strenght of the ele is that the rotation becomes so much more easy because they are just an allrounder. They have great mobility with that they can outrotate guards,they can be used for +1,they are great in 2v2 and 1v1 and can also used as pointholders

If you change the AI in that way that for example cleric gear becomes the best, you just have another meta. Maybe zerker meta changes to cleric meta then.
Maybe Soldier gear + berserker trinkets will be the best , maybe 1 condition player + 4 zerkers – who cares? Then you will have just another optimum meaning another meta, which is pretty much the same and doesn’t change the fact that there will always be ONE way to play, ONE class composition and ONE Gear mix which is the BEST
