We were being nice and working our corner of your map and they kept pushing over to our side instead of pushing north. So after they ninja capped the bay 2 times and constantly put pressure on us while we were on SOS bl we figured they wanted us to come play in their BL.

Ebay made Blood Pact raid for an extra hour Saturday afternoon because you made our blood boil :P

I never liked the T1 matchups I have been a part of here and on IOJ. The skill lag is terrible and while fun always having an enemy on the map it also gets frustrating when only the 1 button works. So really for me there were no T1 dreams.

I know there are no tiers anymore but the WvW population differences between the former tiers are still there.

Question for DB. Why is there never any green in Mag BL? Are they really strong on their home BL or are you guys avoiding it this week?

I think I can answer that.

1. Mags is way below us in rating so hitting them would make our rating go up. I personally dont want to fight the former T1 servers. What they do to us is analogous to what we do to you guys.

2. I trolled Mags in the “why the maguuma hate” thread and said their defense is a joke. I think they decided to make me eat my words by showing they can defend when they have numbers. :P

I dont know. This week has had some really fun fights. (crawls under bridge) except when mags are running away from them.

Trust me FA isn’t feeling that great right now either. DB just has way too many people. They can keep a full large zerg on each map 24/7. It isn’t even worth playing when you are up against them.

Not to be a jerk but I invite the 2v1 vs Db. I had so much fun last week when we fought more than we could handle. There is nothing fun about overwhelming 2 opponents, but fighting tooth and nail against 2 enemies pushing us. Not knowing if we can hold, and needing to use great timing for our pushes.

We learned some new things against JQ and BG last week. Mostly we learned that our server is mostly fairweathers.

i don’t underastand how you can expect anything else with being the new bandwagon server. it has been the case with every other bandwagon server as soon as the easy wins stop the new people don’t show up anymore. why did you think this wasnt the case with db to make this some sort of suprise?

It’s interesting because DB received all of its transfers when the “easy” wins stopped. Since we moved to T2, we had one week I would consider easy; the rest have all been hard fought, excepting last week when we were soundly trounced.

sure i have another theory. you got the transfers in t3 they got you to t2 where you didnt dominate and so they lost interest the same as many other bandwagon servers.

No. You are wrong. We were going to T2 because we dominated T3 with our SEA population. The first transfers came the week before we went to T2.

Last week against JQ and BG I kept my spirit up by looking at how well we did, when we could. There were times we posted +200 PPT vs 2 T1 servers. Think about this with regards to what the OP said. It is all about coverage. if you want to win a matchup you should transfer to another server. Otherwise fight the good fight.

I also agree that Anet hates Maguuma. look at the daily “maguuma killer” does any other server get that attention? I also didnt get that daily achievement when i killed you guys last night…must be bugged

I hope this newly revitalized BG gets matched up with SOR next week to see what type of coverage the fairweathers can bring you guys.

The reasons BG is gaining rating and SoR is losing rating have to do with random chance, which really invalidates the difference. The only way it will matter to me is if BG beats SoR in a direct match and overtakes the #1 rating spot. Otherwise it’s just Glicko silliness.

I won’t argue this. It is meaningless, but it would be fun to tweak their nose about it if you are matched up this next week. Think chess. you can set up your troll this week and be a step ahead next week :P

I’ve spent 8+ hours a day in eb since reset and from what I’ve seen BG can’t do anything to us without WAY out manning us or double teaming us with JQ which is just sad. At least as far as EB goes

Have you never followed a 30+ man zerg to take an undefended camp or tower? The way I see it, if you are winning the numbers game, might as well use that to your advantage. I certainly wouldn’t say “hey look 10 DB taking QL, can a squad of 10 people or less please stop them?”

Oh, and you can be sure that BG has fairweathers just like any other server. So some of those people you are complaining about might not be too confident in their WvW skills, and need backup from people who know what they’re doing.

Lastly, you sound bitter. You clearly are not enjoying your time, yet you are spending 8 hours a day in EB. Maybe your time is better spent elsewhere. I’m not saying this to troll, I just think you might have an addiction problem, and I’m trying to help.

generally I don’t spend this much time in eb but this was week T1 and I personally have not seen T1 before . Everyone said we were going to get rolled we are going to lose ect ect and true enough we are getting rolled but T1 just isn’t as impressive as I had hoped theyd be maby that’s my issue just didn’t live to the hype

My main point with the new system is this:

The old system CAUSED the very high difference in WvW skill and population between Tiers.

Ability: Servers were isolated from each other for long periods of time. So new tactics develop in Tier 1 that Tier 2 has no idea about. Evidence: look at many of the post by DB players in this very thread. They are talking about how much different we do things and how much they are learning. If DB had not played us this week, they STILL wouldn’t know about it.

Population: AFTER free transfers ended, the #1 reason guilds transferred were to fight new opponents and get out of the deadlock of fighting the same guilds and servers over and over again. Look at IRON. Their guild was so done with with WvW because they were stuck against Vizuna Square for so long and couldn’t leave the Tier.

Look at the amount of compression of WvW guilds the servers have gone under since free transfers ended. Entire WvW populations were eaten by the current Tier 1 servers. SBI, IOJ, KN, FA, DH, CD and even some EU servers. If those guilds had remained spread out, we’d have much closer matches even with the volatility.

Those two main factors have cause a huge spread in points when servers go up even one Tier. But how to fix this?

You remove the stagnation that caused it: Check.

You make transferring to lower servers cheaper: Check. (When they lowered the pop cap, they did it for everyone, its cheaper to move to more lower pop servers than ever before)

In six months we are going to see a much more even top two or even top three tiers than we see right now because of this system. Because guilds will move off the stacked servers cuz they will realize how much of a blowout they are causing in their matches.

HOD was stacked. It no longer is. The guilds will spread out because now they won’t be afraid of boring matches because they will get to fight good opponents if they roll the right random number again, instead of having to hope for a server to implode.

I was going to troll this statement about skill but you are correct. Db has a long way to go before we have the common use tactics to set us on that next level. Our new members of the community seem to be very open to sharing what they know about different tactics from different Tiers.

I will say that in small scale and solo roaming there is a serious level of difference from T1 and T3 TBH. The smaller servers like mags and FA have better individual skill I feel. But in these matchups that isn’t the game.

Agreed, it was stagnant …but the system they just put in with its current implementation is pretty freaking horrible. I realize you may be having more fun this week because you aren’t getting blown out, but there are some pretty hefty blowouts going on in some of the match ups making people not even want to play (on all sides).

Do you really think putting the top ranked NA server against a T4 server is fun for anyone? Heh

My personal opinion is this week where we are getting demolished is better than last week in terms of fun. The roaming is a little scarce for my tastes though.

I appreciate how TW didnt come to Db to mess our glicko up even more after last weeks match.

What a great idea! That will go real well for a guild that is rebuilding after being gutted by the “legendary” egos. Even if EMP were in a position to GvG right now it wouldn’t settle anything. There are still going to be hard feelings among certain individuals. If anything it would just make the drama even worse than it is, and I think we’ve had enough of that already.

There was a time that Db took pride in having no server enemies….

Db was going to T2 before anyone came here on the backs of our SEA coverage. At most we would be a T2.5 without the new guilds. With them we were a solid T2.

Judging what Db, as a whole, did on reset night is a little unfair for the majority of Db players considering how it is the first time many of them have played in T1 with the T1 lag.

Is there any way to have the EMP/RE chest thumping go to another thread? Then people wont have to wade through pages of comments that only apply to 1 % of the people involved in this match.

Nah i quite like the current system, theirs something about sitting in a massive 100+ man teamspeak party with your server mates and all speculating on who you’re vsing once reset kicks in everybodies like ERMAGARD who are we vsing. Once you notice it’s Tarnished Coast and Fort Aspenwood everybody goes dead silent for like 1 minute. Then theirs the one guy who starts cracking up laughing and everybody follows suit and just starts laughing hysterically like “we’re screwed”. I like that =)

Try being the server that TC and FA smoked the week before last and going against JQ and BG this week….

Under the idea that a good commander does not ask more of his squad mates that he is willing to do himself…

If a commander has increased supply carrying capacity from any source that gets mirrored to his squad in a 1200 range. Or just have a +5 supply capacity within 1200 range.

This would help to define s role for a commander tag. I think different commander roles are one of the things commanders are missing.

Or maybe have Wxp ranks on commanders mirror within a moderate range. Siege bunker/damage commanders would hit keeps, guard killer/supply carrier commanders would flip camps or run supply and repair.

Are you referring to the PYRO vs. Agg GvG? There’s no shame in losing to Agg. They are a competent guild with excellent sportsmanship. To my knowledge, no Agg member engaged in trash-talk in this thread. On the other hand, were we to accept a challenge from BP, we’d find ourselves in a zugzwang. Were we to lose, it would be a loss against BP. Were we to win, it would only be victory against BP and therefore meaningless. Same goes for EA. On the other hand, I’m sure Paralda wouldn’t refuse another challenge from Agg. We may not win as many GvGs as our D|ERP brothers and sisters but we learn and adapt.

WOW, whats with all the BP hate? I mean other than Calvin, who only really comes out during the mags matches to mix it up with other pro PvF Warriors, BP is a respectful lot. Most don’t even come to the forums.

Oh no I’m familiar with Mag forum warriors, I’m from SBI. And I do remember that during our last stretch facing Mag I stopped logging into the forums until a different matchup.

Strange how they are much more reasonable and plesant in game. I mean this is the only time we’ve been able to work with another server and pull off a 2v1 and it is great fun. Actual stragegy being used, why can’t we talk about that?

I was there… Chat was something like ‘Magumma is here to help!’, ‘Do not engage Magumma if at all possible’…. Not sure why part of our zerg ‘refused’ your help

I know a bunch of us were cheering for the reinforcements. Thanks for the help and sorry not everyone accepted it.

To be fair, early in the day after Magumma capped SM and DB was trying to retake it, SBI flooded in and attacked DB from behind and tried to stop all reinforcements. When DB made a push into the lords room, SBI tried to crush them from behind. I was downed on the stairs, was trying to rez and a Mag came all the way down the stairs to stomp me…I was like ‘what the kitten! We were just trying to help you keep SM’…guess he didn’t want my help This possible, unofficial 2v1 thingy (we deny that it’s actually happening) still has some kinks to be ironed out…

You guys shoudl consult with FA and TC about 1. working a 2v1 and 2. keeping it quiet :P

I think I annoyed some people when I suggested the 2v1 earlier on, but it wasn’t meant as an insult.

Also can we drop the failed GvG thing from months ago. There was misunderstandings. The first one was thought to be a 30v30 and apparently was not. Then when it was 25-25 we spread out into 5 groups of 5 so you could count us. and waited. and waited. and then we were told that we attack at xx:xx server time(sorry dont remember the time details that far back)

I remember ND from a long time ago and they didnt hack.
