This probably isn’t going to be a popular statement with a lot of you, but I’m all for getting the GvG comments out of the WvW forums. It’s pretty much irrelevant in a WvW matchup thread, although it does bring a certain amount of drama to the table. The drama I don’t mind, but all the high fives, GG’s, ect., ect. are quite boring.
That being said, I doubt Anet will giving anyone a GvG format and/or map to play on. They’ve got Spvp tournaments and you have the ability to PAY for your own areas to fight in. There’s your level playing field and your GvG format. I can almost guarantee that would be Anet’s standpoint as well. I’d be very surprised if they actually did create an actual GvG arena for free.

What else is there to talk about? Bragging about population and PPT while pretending it’s skill has gotten a bit old. Oh hey, we can talk about the only changes anet has really made in this past year, wexp and siege buffs, further reinforce karma train zerg blobs. Oh wait. That topic is stale already too. Face it. GvGs are the only interesting thing going on these days.

GVG’s happen in WvW so ppl have every right to talk about it in the matchup threads.

Outta curiosity, which guilds from gw1 is HzH made up of? Is it from the HzH alliance back in the glory days of AB and FFF (with guilds like OMEN, CAT, VEIN, DoA etc) or the one during the speed clear days?

those guilds eventually merged into the guilds that ran the speed clears and farmed JQ/FA which eventually merged into HzH.

AB died and with it the FFF that we all once knew :P

With JQs “dominating” of Maguuma, they still managed over 13k points per day while being night capped and gaining no ppt for half of every day. It must be embarrassed to be JQs NA squad.

DB’s NA has performed better vs Mag in the same time zone, and they aren’t a “tier 1” server that JQ claims to be.

Come back when your NA crew doesn’t fail so hard. #3 vs #8 should really be a little more impressive.

I think most of db would admit that we are smack dab in the middle of T2 if there were tiers anymore. It is funny because when Db was T3 and FA and TC were floating between t2-3 with us and mags, it is the same position only more people…

Your disgusting mentality is the reason why GW2 and wvw will lose more and more players. sos and cd are not even playing anymore, because they are getting destroyed non stop on EQ. Even if their players decide not to quit GW2, we may have nothing to do until the reset. Meanwhile other players (on other servers) are gaining new WXP upgrades.

The reason WvW will lose players on weeks like this is due to the terrible match making system. There is no reason a server of DB’s size should be against CD (don’t know much about sos). We honestly just don’t have the numbers to cover anything, it’s just zergs everywhere. Oh and as i said earlier, the fact that DB pushed our mini zerg all the way to the spawn stairs on EB made things so much better. Lol we get it you are a huge server, we have no chance, hell you are already up double our score, so why not show some class and at least let us get out of spawn before the bag farming starts. A few of us just sat on the stairs with the invulnerable buff and we were still targeted and fired at lol. It was ridiculous.

I remember way back when we were middle of T3 for months, and TC did the exact same thing to us when they came down for 1 week.

Nicely worded troll indeed. Well done. I could, of course, ask of you the same question. But since you’re wondering, I was in FIRE, came over a bit after they did before they absorbed RE. Great guild, great people. I’d be the one spending hours on end seiging up and fully fortifying a tower only to have it lost to one group while the DB group was busy trying to hold onto a paper Bay which they seemed to believe was more important on the home map.

Of course… if you didn’t notice, that’s part of the problem right there.

Triangle defense(what I call it) where you hold your triangle and expand as you are able to on every map is really only truly effective in T1 mtchups with 4 full map queues. When you came to Db with fire we were not having that type of coverage. With lower wvw population it is more effective, PPT wise, to hold your whole BL and thrd of eternal with a force including all 3 keeps. Then you can expand into any other servers home BL if they push you with whatever forces at your disposal outside of those zones.

It is the ebb and flow of map control. Including tactics that involve map hopping whic is not possible on T1 servers.(this is also something that is not happening on Db much anymore either with recent influx of population.) Honestly JQ commanders are probably not as good as top lower tier commanders because all they have really known is commanding 1 map. Not the macro strategy of multimap control.

This is something that Mag always used to be tops in, with their near universal VOIP use. The response time as a server is one of the best when they decided to play ppt.

If your guild is EXCLUSIVELY interested in GVG and no other part of WvW, a week of fighting SoR and BG would quite possibly be the best week you could ever have.

You really oversell the difference between T1 and the rest of the game. I have fought in T1, I have fought many of the top guilds, all that is different in T1 is the volume of people and the amount of coverage at all time zones.

Quality of play is not improved, in fact it is harder to find the good guilds/players because of all the blobbing trash you have to sift through to get to them.

I would also go on to say that the average skill level of players is lower on more populated servers.

We run tactical gameplay, we don’t care much for GvG, we play to win, if we wanted we could but thats not JQs usual play-style .

HzH does not mind GvG at all. Since our humbling run in with TW we have been changing team composition and training. We are willing to GvG we just prefer it to be with guilds that can be respectable with one another and not trash talk.

Mags will be respectful of anyone who comes out to fight. Especially pyro and drep and me.
