All servers do this. Technically it is not a hack, it’s taking advantage of certain viewing angles in windowed and tri-screen monitor setups. To report something for what anet has knowingly allowed and has done nothing to change certainly would tell you that they do not care, no?

I say its inconclusive and here is why.

You never went to the front of the tower to check for any ac’s that would have covered the 1-2 questionable circles. Almost all the circles are accessible from that hill at that tower with a wider FOV.

Well yeah if you’re accidentally firing at a weird angle because you’re using multiple monitors then you’re not (willfully) doing anything wrong. Deliberately/repeatedly building ACs to fire over unbroken walls into a keep is an entirely different matter though, especially if you’re a commander. There’s no ignorance defense there.

Also yeah windowed mode still works but nobody tries to defend that like they do multiple monitors.

There is no defense needed.

windowed mode = multiple monitor.

That is how anet designed the game to interact with multiple monitors.

Personally, I run dual monitors with a 2nd screen open to the mos website maps. this doesn’t make me a cheater because the map is powered by anet’s api. But having a 2nd monitor gives me an advantage over an opposing commander. I am no exploiter or hacker. I just use all the TOOLS available to me that Anet has decided to provide.

Since I have only 1 monitor playing the game I will squeeze my game window to “imitate” having a 3 screen setup if I need to hit something I cannot see with full screen on. This again is not exploiting. it is using all the available tools that anet has decided to provide us.

1. Using a wider FOV is not a hack. It is the solution Anet implemented for multiple monitors.
2. Where is that AC you are showing hitting. I dont see the red circle of it’s attack anywhere, much less somewhere it shouldn’t be from that placement.

Using eyefinity to achieve a wider FOV is allowed by the letter of the law. However, utilizing that wider FOV to fire an AC somewhere it otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach is pretty much the definition of an exploit (even though you will almost certainly not get banned).

People who can afford multiple monitors shouldn’t have such a massive game advantage, that much is plainly obvious. However Anet seems unable/unwilling to change the way multiple monitor set ups alter the FOV so feel free to keep holding that false moral high ground!

L2 windowed mode

The south hills and lords room ac attacks are not zoom hacks. They are wider FOV and legit according to the devs because it requires no 3rd party programs. It only requires one to go into windowed mode.

If you actually did split your group for more even number fights, mad props to you and your crew. I have NEVER seen it happen before since game came out. Fight clubs are only time I seen that sort of thing.

EBay typically has a strong reset weekend, but things slow down during the week, especially in non-NA times.

We had a pretty long queue on home borderland. I don’t think eternal was queued most of the night. Not sure about the other BL.

Question for you guys. How large are your groups? It’s hard to count and I am not sure if things are exaggerated or if you really have 40/50 people together.

CoF normally runs about 8 but we groups with GF and were running about 25 with a few extras tagging along.

I can only account for BP who had about 15-20 all night in EB BL. we had a group in eternal as well running 5-10 strong. When you fought our full Db force you were probably fighting 60-70% of queue(whatever that is) at one time. ALS had a large group in there and Rb was there as well in force.

good fights all night. we really liked pushing that nw tower. It would bring you back there all night like a boomerang :P (oh boomerang, you always come back!!!)

Great fights on EBay BL last night, Both EBay and TC brought massive numbers and loot bags for all.

Please stop with the double team talks…It’s childish and will only get this thread locked anyway. Double teams happen because you make a mistake or play poorly and the other servers take full advantage, Especially on reset night.

Example: Last night around midnight EST we (DB) were on EBay BL messing with their NW tower with around 60 players up there. EBay pushed out of spawn (as they did whenever we touched that kitten tower….kudos EBay) with about 80 to wipe us and succeeded in getting about 1/3 of us down and the rest retreated north. Toward the end of this fight TC hit SW tower (taking advantage of us being far up north) and we were too slow reacting to port back and stop them.

We lost our home tower on reset night….A sign of weakness.

Then both servers hit Bay full force (75+ each) and EBay ended up being victorious in that fight. Great job Ebay and TC for playing smart and taking out the weakest link at the time. We made a mistake by not protecting our tower and showed weakness to 2 huge zergs….we paid the price for that. It wasn’t a double team because of any other reason than that, If we had gotten back to spawn faster and wiped TC at the tower the mess at Bay would never have happened.

Again…Great job EB and TC, Was another fun reset.

P.S. – Where are the score updates guys??

If people thought about what contributed to any 2v1 scenario, I would bet there would be a story like this in at least 95% of them. Great summation of events there.

edit: Ebay, you are thinking in lower coverage terms when it comes to the 2v1 that is possibly perceived. Db had 4 full maps with 30min+ queues. I would guess TC was around that too. If your maps weren’t queued then you were at a major disadvantage numbers wise. This of course leads to the weak link scenario described above.

Yep, a little forewarning on the official thread about GvG here would have been helpful.

FA. Forewarning about GvG brings unwanted attention from trolls and in some cases have not happened because of this. If you see Swords south of the south camp and find out it is a db/cd gvg just leave it be. That means your BL has 20+ enemies filling the queue for your bl from both servers that are not going for points.

also the question as to why db and cd would choose fabl for the gvg. The ease of access from spawn is the answer.

Ask yourself this question the next time you fight the tier 1 heavies.. having your outmanned meter kept turning up means you have to choose your fight carefully.. eg. ytd in EB overlook hill.. took out 3waves of DB didn’t we?

But overall DB zerg have balls unlike TC they don’t scurry to nearest tower when you caught them on even ground.

P.S DB Comd try not to drop open field ac when you already have overwhelming numbers.. One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards.

To make any competition with 3 teams on the board at the time competitive the 2 weaker participants must focus the 1 stronger participant. Or think about it like war, why did the Germans in WW2, And Napoleon earlier try to conquer europe before pushing into Russia. Why do all the Mideastern countries, who hate each other like Iran,Syria,Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc.. all show a united front against the US.

It is about winning. anything less is playing for second. If both weaker teams focus the stronger teams border land and both push north, instead of vulturing off the south mags, the defending server will have to make a choice. What do they lose. Then later when they got to recap the other location they lost the one they decide to keep is vulnerable.

This is basic stuff here.

The idea is fine. Having no limiters and not having the score reflect the purpose of taking points off higher ranks servers is the problem. And that all falls with Anet.

If TC started this week with 0 points, Maguuma 100k, SoS 200k (i.e. handicapping the servers based on their expected performance) then maybe some people might care to play a bit more. But its still a horribly uneven matchup.

At this point the system seems worse than WULD…..

So Saturday morning comes for me to check the ofc forums and see who mag is going to whine about this week, see this match up, I lol’d and started reading. All of a sudden i see a really good idea that would just destroy WvW on lower pop servers even more. Can you imagine how disheartened a server would be to see a monumental lead they were given just melt away. Or that same server actually managing to win and then get NO satisfaction from the win cause they were given a handicap.

This games entire WvW population needs to be redone. Anet literally did WvW backwards. Think about this for a second. If they opened up with free transfers and RNG matches I think they could have transitioned to the stable matches and paid transfers with a more accurate rank/tier system.

Ugh. Here is my take on this issue.

As it stand eBay has very little Oceanic and Asian presence. So most of the guys you see on at night are the little amount of that that we have and our NA presence that decided to stay up late.

SoS and DB do have this presence. So when you guys are fully active at night (When eBay raids, you guys are just waking up) we have mostly just gotten done with our raid. You guys, on the other hand, have just begun.

So really, I think it has to do with more or less how desynced our servers are when it comes to play time. It doesn’t just revolve around population.

I would like to say that you guys can and do field more than we do however. It is apart of the whole picture, just not the entire thing.

The fact that not a single one of the 6+ (cause their numbers keep fluctuating) SoS guys stealing the camps I’ve been working for all morning will fight me on even semi-square terms… Wait, maybe that’s because when I actually brought another ranger in we killed or downed all but two of them… It takes a downright lack of respect to sit back and watch a solo person take the time and effort to kill all the guards at camp, then mob-gank that person for the win. I could laugh it off if it was just once, maybe twice, but not all morning long. To the point I’m feeling actively followed about. A person doing all they can for their server who at the time is horribly outmanned and hanging on to +20 points at the time I began this message.

We’re aware of the Code of Conduct, Slim. Don’t think we’ve breached the line of open disrespect yet. What we’re having right now as far as I can tell is a conflict of views, that’s all.

Funny thing is, I’ve noticed a lot of sportsman-like behavior on the field from both servers. Numerous times I’ve had DB zergs pass me right up in the open field, one actually kind of swerved to miss me even, while on the way to their objective(s). I’ve also had bows and salutes aplenty, both before and after fights.

I bet he’s furiously used his report feature….

If DB/SoS getting this upset by what’s been posted then I dunno know WTF they’d do with a full Ebay Troll Onslaught….

How lovely it must feel to have not one, but two servers with a similar population and participation to yours so much that it’s an intensely close game. Must be great to actually be able to have a somewhat balanced match in a tier. Please tell me more about how that feels. Being a Maguuman, I wouldn’t know.

Actually Ebay is right in there too, so there’s 3 other servers that will result in extremely close matches if we get paired with them. As for how it feels, it’s kind of like smashing your face into a tiered wedding cake and not caring what anybody thinks.

Ebay is a solid opponent, they just have no off NA coverage really.

IDK thats a toss up. I like Guardians persistence but Saiyr can cut people down in 1 sentence. But like other Gummybears on the battlefield when saiyr meets resistance he runs and hides :P

I vote GuardianOMS as number 1. Saiyr is number 2.

Ok maybe mags PvF just need a strong opponent. One willing to engage. Up your game people. I read mags threads for my amusement and this one is seriously lacking.
