FA is getting kitten by this pretty hard this matchup. It´s impossible to defend anything with random DCs and crazy lag.

well the good news is everyone is getting affected by the same thing…the bad news is there is a ton of unfounded accusations of double teaming going on :*(
I am avoiding FA BL because i like staying connected to the game and i assume there are a lot of other people doing the same thing. TCBL had a long queue this afternoon because i think people were avoiding FABL other than as a temporary stopover or until they realized what was going on.
Most boring reset weekend ever, especially with FABL stuck in a black hole. I’ve gotta say though – I have not seen 1 standout player from Dragonbrand and it disappoints me – even Kaineng had their standout roam groups, 5-mans, and solos. Some guardian with Eternity or whatever came at me at Danelon and I wrecked her in about 15 seconds on my engi.. Then I promptly got ran over by a zerg lmao. Really all I’ve seen is zergzergzergalerg from DB – either they’re camping a tower or keep in a mini-zerg or running around in a big zerg. Trust me, I’m not a zerg-hater in the slightest. When the time comes for a big fight, there shoudl be big fights.. but in those off-hours it seems DB’d rather keep 1 scout to in a keep or tower to blow a whistle and get on a loudspeaker than send out some decent small groups. Congrats to DB, you’ve got an butt-ton of coverage- you can have T1 in the midst of Arrow Cart Wars 2 =D
10 vs 1 is all i see. would be funner if skill was involved.Plus the arrow card buff Is in favor of the zerg mentality.
The steam rolling 10 vs 1 way of playing has to be extremely boring,and shows zero skill in playing.
You are so right about this. That 1 player should learn 2 play with others and increase his skill in socializing in a massive MULTIPLAYER game

all weekend long i have been getting kicked from FaBl along with a bunch of my server mates.
I have a real simple rule when I see a 1v1, if no one is around watching it, while im out roaming. I will dive in and help my server mate up until the opponent is in downed state or hes says stop. I then let him spike the potential ganker, or if it was a duel he can let the person revive and I can say “im sorry” or /cry and be on my way. And if it was a good duel it just resets the fight no harm really done.
The above applies to most areas of WvW, The windmill is a different story. I never go over to the windmill area unless I intend to duel, there really never is any reason to be over there otherwise. its just an open area.
FA BL was not fun today… i would disconnect. log back in. run across the map and rejoin my commander. and then disconnect again :*(
Can someone from DB please inform [CO] that the windmill behind south camp is the unofficial dueling spot? They have been griefing it for a while now.

I think this AC problem could be fixed by just adding an ammunition supply in addition to the actual supplies to build the equipment. Players hold ammo on them, and when it drains, no more shots from AC’s, or any other siege equipment. They have to hop off and another player hops on with ammo to continue. If they don’t have ammo or they’ve wasted it blindly firing arrows outside the gate, then it’s too bad so sad.
They could add ammo camps, and little ammo caches. Ammo could drop off players etc..
…or just have supply be the ammo. 1 shot per 1 supply. do that for every piece of siege.
Fully upgraded north tower with a wp in your garrison and the +5 supply buff sets a good staging point for assaults on other borderlands. Lock up the NE tower with siege and 1-2 defenders when its upgraded and run supply from there for your assault if you push on different maps.(this only works in T3-T8 because map jumping is less effective with queues)
As well as all the other siege. The despawn timers are GREAT!!!!!

No hills doesn’t need a nerf. The other keeps need a buff. Like Garrison inner south gate. When are they ever going to fix that.
this^^^^^^ even without the water gate bug garrison is easy enough to take and the bay is laughable. SMC is just big and the different EB keeps are all easy to take except the north one, which is moderately difficult.
The bay can be longsieged from any direction and from inside defensive points. I personally like the stealth catapult corner near the south entrance.

Thank you for addressing this under emphasized point out. Db was on it’s way to tier 2 whenever one of the servers above it faltered. These new members of our community have taken a challenge upon themselves to help shore up our numbers in times we are weaker. They know what they are getting into, and it has nothing to do with T3.
Welcome!!! I have already run with a [re] and [rb] and had a good time. I cant wait to revisit T2 with some new allies in the trenches.
If you can defend a choke point with a ballista you can get a LOT of loot bags.
Because Katniss, they are transferring not for what T3 offers… but for what they potentially see T2 offering by them being on DB when DB goes into T2.
On behalf of Warsworn [WAR], we welcome any new guilds to DB. DB’s community has always been very welcoming of newcomers, and no reason for that to change at any point now or in the future. Believe it or not, DB takes a very casual approach to WvW in that none of our big guilds are out pulling 12-hour shifts in WvW. Please don’t expect that of DB’s guild if you are arriving from T1, it might be a culture shock to see how laid back we are as a community heh. We also have near zero drama between our guilds, and the bigger guilds all pretty much work very well together and get along all the same.

On the subject of recruiting and getting more players for NA. Db has known it was only a matter of time before we would see T2. Ever since SOS fell through the rankings Db has been laying the groundwork for better coverage because we could be in the same rough position FA was in for months of possibly bouncing between T2 and T3 depending entirely on how bad the next server above us either falls apart or makes a misstep.
No. Having the enemy name (and health bar as a result) is critical in telling if there’s someone being stealth-rezzed right in front of you.
I would recommend a grey name, and the healthbar can still be present.

I don’t think it’s very nice to take credit for your entire PPT (whatever it may have been) simply because it happened during your official guild raid time. I think EA has the right idea of focusing on defense considering DB’s SEA population. It’s not always beneficial to go on the offensive.
I wasn’t taking full credit for the 335+ PPT. There were a bunch of guilds and players playing last night. EA is an amazing guild. I am pretty sure DB SEA guilds are ok with going through paper gates instead of having to siege a fully upgraded keep. This was more an excercise in “we can take what we want, when we want, and no one can do anything about it” because we can out maneuver you.
People are saying we should have focused on defense when all our keeps were already reset on our BL. So what is the real loss in letting it go, when we(DB) are still topping the PPT? Ill answer my own question, a few rams.
You may notice that I dont bring up the score totals and only refer to PPT. This is one of the metrics BP measures itself by during our raids. I also notice that the first score update from NA TZ last night is from after our raid. Funny how Pinko had to wait until then to post it.

@Dragonbrand SEA crew (NNK, TFV, etc…) I can’t help but wonder how you will even handle tier 2 when you reach there. I have witnessed on several nights, or rather SEA prime time, that you attack Maguuma or Yaks Bend and if the defence is a slightly good from one of those servers you kitten off and move to the other BL and try take that BL and then return to the previous BL when more people are asleep. I’m not complaining about pvdoor because I know that’s just how it is. But your SEA crew always give up attacking a BL if there is defence, in tier 2 I doubt you will face no resistance, as a matter of fact I wouldn’t be surprised if TC matches your numbers during SEA, but if you can’t even slug it out and take a BL while there is some resistance then how in the kitten will you ever take anything in tier 2?
I guess you haven’t really faced a challenge during SEA prime time for a while, other than Kaineng when they rose the ranks but Kaineng destroyed your asian crew. I really hope your SEA crew learn to face resistance sooner rather than later, because quite frankly many people from Maguuma and Yaks Bend find it hilarious how shallow your SEA crew is. This may sound harsh but I’m merely stating a fact that your asian crew really hasn’t had any challenges in the last 3-4 months and so I guess they haven’t had to improve.
During the weeks with kaineng our SEA team pulled 400+PPT. IDK what you mean when you say they weren’t tested or challenged, and they certainly weren’t destroyed. Maybe they didnt turn all the maps our color entirely, but this is pretty impressive I think. Dont be a whiner. It reflects poorly on you and your server.

Yeah, this match has been fun so far, screw points. Friday night was an awesome fight against YB for our west keep back (trying to taking east keep back was less awesome on our part). Saturday…don’t even remember Saturday. But guild raid on YB yesterday was really fun because we had other commanders doing stuff on the map too which let us stay mostly as a guild group the entire time. Also that TG guy that was randomly jumping along with us outside YB’s west keep by the water is awesome, I hope nobody killed you
He didnt get killed by you guys for at least a little while. I watched the whole thing while in the tower outside the DB spawn after you took it* :P I watched that whole battle in front of the tower from on top of the rock and was cheering you all on. Without culling that was truly something to see. You guys have some phenomenal movement as a group. That was also some solid flanking you did too after you pulled back to regroup.
*i ran in before you capped and stealthed until you were gone.
People still play thieves in WvW? I rarely see them anymore.
Since culling ended seeing thieves rarely is a step up I would say.
on topic my opinion on this subject is pretty simple since the recent extra second on revealed was added. qq l2p qq.

The math is simple, if a server is trying to win. Every single control point that you take from the 1st place server is double points towards that victory. each tier should be a 2v1 with the 2nd and 3rd place servers fighting to wipe the 1st place server off the map.
Why are arrows not projectiles? Swirling winds should destroy those inc arrow waves.
because they could then be reflected…
If you are in the EB JP trust no one and kill them all.
YB and DB will always end up betraying any kind of mercy shown towards them.
I found a few cool DB players, one BP thief in particular who just stopped and had a chat with me randomly last week. Though they are mostly ever only people who duel and Fightclub so Quantity is limited this tier.
That thief might have been me I often chat up the enemies in JP’s.

This should tell you where to go for armor. I would recommend the power/vitality/toughness gear at least to start. I think every guardian I know runs these stats on their armor. They then round out the gearing for whatever build they are running with trinkets. (crit or condition or healing for tanks.)
“20/30/0/0/20” this trait spread is a “glass cannon” build with no points in either of the durability lines. You need to have more defense and life.

Actually Anet has hinted that the leg trait affecting carts is going to get fixed. But I’ve seen every server do it, so there are no righteous good guys here.
Actually since it is a broken mechanic BP decided internally not to use it so we wouldn’t get reliant on it. so technically any BP talking about it can be a self righteous good guy.

+1. the issue at hand is not stealth and thieves. It is contesting the WP with a single attack. Just because the OP and his FA teammates were unable to counter the same strategy that his own server mates have used. LOLOLOL I think “Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.”
This is not the way to fix population problems. It is open to many forms of manipulation. Whining on the forums you are outnumbered will not solve your coverage problems, recruiting players to your server will.
As to the guardian above. It sounds like you and a thief had a solid stalemate. Well done. How does it feel to be the wall the thief was bashing his face against with no good outcome?
While I was annoyed that he could get away without much effort, I still /laughed that he had no chance of beating me, and it did have a purpose:
Was on TC Borderlands (I’m on TC) and it was pretty empty. A guildie and I were taking the southern most camp and this thief kept running over with perma-stealth to prevent us from capping. So I ran him off then stood at the entrance and he could never get passed me while my guildie took the camp.
so you were literally a wall he bashed his face on :P
I feel toughness makes each hit point more valuable. Since there is no “Holy Trinity” in this game with dedicated healers to bring you back to full HP’s each one of those hit points are even more important.

The thief is perfectly fine. Our burst damage is completely in line with other classes. Survivability isn’t an issue for us because of stealth, we are supposed to rinse light armor classes and one shot them. Without perma stealth it has got a bit more difficult so they should probably fix that so that no one can see us ever.

I’ve hit similarly speced guardians for about as high on Kill Shot out of a Valkyrie+Cavalier warrior build and about 10-13k out of a full round of shatters + Blurred Frenzy at the same time.
I would also point out if built right the shatter mesmer can easily drop a second round of shatters on the opponent as fast or faster than a backstabber can pull off a 2nd backstab. And all those shatters can drop conditions on top of you too.

I find this complaining by a Fort Aspenwood player to be very satisfying to me. You guys have a thief who does this all the time for hours.

What about the Elemental who can ride the lightning into the lords room in a tower without breaking down the wall or door and solo the champ and his minions. They should reduce the distance of RTL by half and nerf ele’s dps.

HAHAHAHAHA. So a thief backstabs you on your tank for lets say 1/3 of your HP’s. you still have more life than him(probably close to half again as much as he has). Learn to dodge roll. The only time a thief has ever landed a second hit on me after coming out of stealth is if he was using basilisk venom.
If you dont have heavy armor then invest in some toughness and you can get the same effect.You got to understand that endurance regenerates pretty slowly and you can at most dodgeroll a couple of times, while the thieves can conserve their initiative while in stealth, then back stabbing for no initiative. Having played warriors for a long time, alot of thieves i encounter, the only thing i could do was, wildy slash and hack the air, while the thieves appear again only to backstab and disappear. 2 dodgerolls aint enough for the backstabbing from thieves, which bring down tanks easily. the time between backstabs are too short for warriors to recover endurance, not to mention, healing skill cooldown, which is much longer like 25 seconds to 30, whereas thieves initiative go back up quickly from CnD in like 5 seconds.

3. Backstabs have at least a 5 second cooldown, without any repositioning due to revealed debuff. That CD should get you at least untraited 3 dodge rolls.
4.If you dodge roll or cc a C&D you have wasted half the thiefs initiative pool on most builds.

I have been 1 shotted by zerker 100B warriors even after I popped stealth. Stealth is not invulnerability.

After reading this post I decided to go mess around in sPvP with a thief again to see if they were really as bad as the OP says. Haven’t played a thief in 2-3 months and after a couple of games was still able to kill everyone in a couple of seconds and stealth my way out of any mess no matter how much I screwed up. Had the highest scores in the games I played by a large margin and even got someone to whisper me “l2p” after killing him multiple times effortlessly. Thieves have nothing to complain about.
Edit: Also tested out the perma-stealth build and it still works quite fine.
Typical empirical proof in these kinds of discussions: Someone can kill someone with something so that thing must obviously be OP.
Please point out where I said thieves were OP.
