I second this. Most mace skins are uninteresting but that one actually looks quite nice.

T3 Cultural armors - why so expensive?

Legendary Weapons are priced around 1500g-2000g and they’re just a cosmetic skin as well.

No they are not “just cosmetic”. They will always be top tier statted, no matter what other gear is released. Anet stated catagorically that when gear is released that has better stats than a current legendary, said legendary will be bumped up in stats.

Thats value for its high cost, in that it will never be superseded, it is the pinnacle of gear stats.

Why does it need to? Please answer that.

Economics. An item that is percieved to be “expensive” only maintains its value when said expensive is in comparison to its worth. In a game based on gear stats, an item on the higher end of the price scale should reflect that in stats, or it wont sell as it should.

Less gold sinks is a bad thing and ruins game economies.

Again – for the skin alone Anet is better served selling it on TP.

They aren’t sold on the TP because they are racial. Pretty simple really. If they were sold on the market as you suggest then they wouldn’t be called cultural armor.

As someone who pretty much ‘exploits’ guesting to maximum benefit, I think guesting was probably the worst thing you could do to remove server community and loyalty.

I don’t know if I would call it exploiting. It is a failure on Anet’s part to think ahead, and with the lack of a PTS to sort this stuff out before it is made live.

Well so far the thing every single thread about this issue have in common is that the people complaining about it are all on TC, and to a lesser extent JQ.

Seems likely it’s just an issue with TC being one of the highest pop, if not the highest pop server in NA for various reasons.

It’s 1 chest per character per day. It doesn’t matter if you’re in overflow or go to a different server.

Is this accurate? Or can you repeat on the same character on another server?

As far as I know it is. It’s what people have said in the other dozen threads on this same issue in the last 24 hours. I tend to believe the people saying this than the people who are saying hundreds of people are now guesting on their server all of sudden and they can’t get their last minute dragon chest.

However I’ve personally never used guesting so I don’t know, first hand.

There’s also the fact that people from TC have advertised their server as the pve server since guesting was added to the game. Which might be part of the problem as well.

Also so far it’s really only people on TC and JQ that are complaining about this which have both been two of the highest pop servers in NA since launch.

Lots of reasons why they’re getting overflow’s now but guesting is probably low down on the list.

Ya I know what is going on and it may be different on other servers but I know for a fact that there are a huge number from other servers that are at all of the events. I also know that a lot of ppl are server jumping to be able to do them more than once a day.

This really needs to be fixed. I don’t care if ppl do this but people that are native to the server should get first dibbs and everyone else can go in the overflow.

I am not sure how you would do this though.

It’s 1 chest per character per day. It doesn’t matter if you’re in overflow or go to a different server.

Guesting is not the problem here. Think about it. Guesting has been in the game around 2 months. The change to chests has been in the game for 3 days. The problem only started around 3 days ago. I WONDER WHY.

They really need to push the Orr event scaling out to the rest of the world with the improved rewards. Right now it’s all reward and no risk at all. But when you get a few champions stomping people around at Claw’s, then it’ll be a different story.

Also consider this: with the improved rewards, prices will drop which means your gold will be worth more. I’d do dungeons and other non-overloaded content for gold, then use that to buy the stuff you need. Let the reward rush simmer down, in a couple of weeks people won’t be swarming the events as much.

There are already champions at claw of jormag? Most people just ignore them.

Well, in my opinion: people who’s server is “home” should not miss out on timed events because they’re forced into an overflow from guesting. Now, the issue may NOT be guesting, but instead the new popularity of the chests. Have any devs commented on this? Because it is kinda lame that people in their own home server can’t do things because of guesting..and we shouldn’t be forced to guest to another server because things aren’t accessible on our home server.

Now, I welcome those who guesting, and I don’t think this issue is their fault, but instead a possible oversight on ANet’s behalf, and I get really sad when I see the anti-guesting talk….

That is what I wanted to sent across in my message that home server residents should not missed out on events while guests gets to do the events, but it seems the “forum police” are saying its our problem

People disagree with you so they are labeled forum police? You’re one to talk about being considerate.

^ Here comes the forum police. Why are you so sure that the issue we at JQ and TC is facing isn’t a guesting caused issue? Are you in our server? Some of them even admittedly say they are from a different server which is practically dead.

Someone disagrees with me so they’re the big bad forum police! Whatever that’s supposed to mean.

Why are you so sure it’s not? You’re talking about two of the highest pop servers in NA and they’ve been that way since prerelease.

Guesting has been in the game for around 2 months now. The change to chest loot has been in the game little more than 3 days. This has only been a “problem” for 3 days. It’s much more likely the people on your high-pop server(s) are all just flocking to dragon chest events for the better loot.

And of course when people ask who is guesting, only people who are guesting will likely answer. That’s by no means a proper consensus of who is and isn’t guesting.

Its redundant tangent threads, they are like condition stacks and dragging everything to a halt.

But yeah – careful what you wish for guys, too many people demanding guesting be rolled out ASAP, and look at that it is exploitable as hell…

PTR is looking better each week.

Except for in this case it’s not being exploited. You can only 1 chest per character per day. It doesn’t matter if you go to a different server or not.

No, no it doesn’t pose a problem for guild missions. Unless your guild is so inconsiderate they start missions without all their people present? I can’t imagine the queue being longer than 5 minutes or anything at all like they are for wv3.

So the real problem here is that you just don’t know how to get to places where you need to be on time and not with guesting.

Why would you say we start a mission without our people around? All of us could be ready just that some of us might be in overflow. Not everyone is as free as you to idle around all day waiting

Err…that’s what I’m saying. Why would your guild start the event when people are sitting in overflow? Seems like the problem is with your guild and not guesting or overflow.

If you cared to read, I’ve stated that not everyone has the luxury of time waiting for member stuck in overflow due to overflowing guests which in the first place shouldn’t occur.

So your time is more important than everyone elses. Gotcha. I may have misread your post but one thing I’ve never done is think my time is worth more than another persons.

Anet cannot and won’t give priority to anyone over anyone else. It will cause far more complaints than the few people on here are complaining about guesting now.

Funny, guesting was here to solve people have issues with playing with friend and people having issues with completing events because of lack of people. Now people are complaining “go back to your own server, ours is good now”. For the majority, it probably has to do with more people doing these events because they’re actually worth it now and guesting is just a minute part of it.

Guesting is fine as it is, if they want to apply any sort of fix, limit guesting to 1 server or two servers at longer duration though in my opinion, it’s working fine as it is.

By the way, you know what’s funny, Anet isn’t going to nerf guesting because of you kittens complaining. What you’ll see in future patch notes is if you guys keep this up “World boss chest loot adjusted”. Everyone loses.

Also, the REAL reason to this complaint is kittens going to the event few minutes before it’s over. If you went to an event well before the time it spawn, even if you hit a overflow, you should have no problem leaving it.

Funny thing is people aren’t using it to play with their friends but instead using it to get 3 world event chests per character. These are called leechers. We as residents of our own server should have the privilege of going into any map at any point in time without having to queue in overflow. So what if we want to enter last minute?

I agree, ANet should remove chest loot while guesting. Since you know, guesting was meant for players to play with friends and that’s most important, not the loots

So basically you want to go to an event last minute to get an easy chest and have priority over someone who has been there the entire time? Are we getting to the bottom of this now?

Talk about leeching.

It’s my home server , what’s the problem? That’s why we have website that tracks the spawn times of world events, so we could be there the moment the pre-event starts. I use my time representing my server in WvW and only come out for dungeons and world events. I don’t see a problem with that. I don’t sit in a map idling around doing nothing. Perhaps you do not participate in WvW and only sits around camping for events but I’m sorry, that’s not how I spent my time playing GW2

Congratulations to you. But I still don’t see why you think you deserve priority queue over someone who has been there longer than you. Home server or no.

First come first serve, and all that.

Yea you know, because someone enters your house earlier than you and lock you out because you fail to reach earlier. Totally no problem at all.

If your home server is dead then it’s too bad, but don’t go around denying other players their rights in their own server. Practice consideration and like what most people said, try not to guest high population servers. Go fill in other moderate population servers. It’ll help reduce the overflow issue and also the lag. Try not to be a prick. There’s a fine line between being a prick and being someone respectable.

How about no? I honestly don’t see a problem here. It’s just people who want to show up in the last 2 minutes of a dragon event and have a priority over those that have been there the entire time so they can hit a few mobs to get their gold medal and chest and be on there way.

If you were so concerned about it, you’d show up a little earlier to those events (you admitted you use the dragon timers) and be through the queue when it starters. And nothing is stopping you from going to a different server. After all you have the timers, and I honestly doubt even the lowest pop server has trouble fielding people for dragon events, especially now.

Everything is working as intended. And your analogy completely fails since it’s all public.

Wow, you really have a thick skin don’t you? From your replies I can assume you’re a guester and being a really inconsiderate one too, reason being you’re asking the residents of the server you’re guesting to fk off to other server. Also I bet u’re guesting for the sole purpose of faster world event boss kill because your server is either dead PVE wise or just doesn’t give a fk. Save yourself a little dignity and be considerate while u’re in other people’s server.

I’m sorry but ANet will surely see this as an issue as it is always residents > guests and guesting is implemented to play with friends, not to inconvenient residents of other servers. I like what someone suggested in the other thread. Guesting to require an invite by a resident of a particular server.

Swing and a miss. I do believe that’s 3 strikes and you’re out. I haven’t used guesting once since it was added to the game.

This should be our elite shout. It would be OP as hell in wv3, though. Warriors would actually have a use there, with it.

Bring back IWAY! It was there in Beta!

What would be the point of IWAY?

IWAY was suppose to rally a downed friend when you kill an enemy, which is the same thing as the rally mechanic in the first place.

Because it’s an AOE rally with 1200 range. People won’t have to be targeting the person who dies to get the rally. OP doesn’t even begin to describe how good it would be in wv3.

One question…why do you want these legendary weapons so badly?
It’s just a cosmetic item designed as an end-game item to be obtained after several months of playing the game, stats wise you can obtain an equally good weapon within 3 days max.

Nobody gonna look at you in a different manner if you obtain a legendary and neither you become a celebrity, all you do is customizing your character, it’s just for fun…no need to put all this effort if you don’t like it, there are equally good looking skins out there

Here’s the thing. Anet has said Legendary weapons will always be best in slot. That means if they add new tiers of armor and weapons legendary items will be free upgrades.

Besides that, legendary items are one of the big “end game” to dos. The ever moving goal post that are precursors is just not fun. In fact it’s the antithesis of fun, for about 99% of the people who want a legendary. Which goes against anets manifesto.

There’s a scavenger hunt on the way, which is addressing the issue of precursors.

Which has no timeline for completion. Not this month. Not next month, probably not the month after that or even the month after that. Anet has said that pretty much only 1 person is working on it, not even as their main task, and that it’s basically still just an early design concept.

Warrior End-Game High LvL Fractals

Higher level Fractals are easy with Warrior, just did level 9 yesterday (that’s “further level”, right?).

I think he means fractal level 30+. Bosses don’t even use agony attacks at level 9.

Don’t listen to the trolls. Play what you like and wear what you like. After all you’re playing the game for your enjoyment, not theirs.

I’m not sure what you expect when you have 150+ in an area all throwing down their skills at the same time..

You obviously didn’t read the post you quoted.

It’s got nothing to do with how many people are playing in WvW. It’s a problem with the way the game engine is programmed. It’s not optimized well and it relies too heavily on the CPU.

This is why even my PC, which is well above the technical specs for the game, still runs into culling in areas with only a dozen or so people in that general area. It’s the engine’s fault due to poor optimization and programming, it is NOT the computer’s fault that the engine doesn’t properly render its character models.

I understand what you said perfectly well and you didn’t address what my post said at all, as well. So maybe we’re both even as far as that goes?

Go look at any other game that had large scale rvr battles. Aion, Warhammer Online, DaOC, etc. What your computer can handle in a normal situation is completely different when 150+ people are all in the same area. Everyone of those games I listed had the issue of performance in rvr and every game handled it differefently (in Warhammers case, not at all).

I don’t get why you think you should get 120+ fps when there is 150 people all throwing down their skills with particle effects going on while running max graphic settings. It’s just not realistically possible.

Yes, the engine isn’t coded efficiently, and yes it could be made better. But that still doesn’t change the fact that a lot of people being in an area all doing their thing is going to have a huge impact on your performance, no matter how good your computer is. And then you have to factor in the latency of all those people as well.

I do agree though, that culling should not be present when only a few people are around. That’s really kind of annoying and immersion breaking to see people pop into existence 5 feet away from me all the time, especially npcs.

Wait, we’re buddy buddy withe the charr? Does that mean I shouldn’t have sent the flea collars to Butcher’s Block?

Not buddy buddy really. They just have a treaty to work together against the dragons. The charr and humans still hate each other very much. They just realize that if they don’t work together the dragons will likely kill everyone.

Because it’s been 250 years, the charr have overthrown their Flame Legion overlords, and the two races now have a peace treaty that have groups on both sides trying to undermine the treaty and re-ignite the war. Yes, you missed pretty much ALL of the story.

As for destroying your home, technically humans destroyed the charrs’ home first, so after hundreds of years of back-and-forth, they’re calling it a draw.

Pretty much this. The Ascalon area originally belonged to the Charr long before the the humans took it over.

In any case maybe the OP hasn’t made it far enough into the story to reach ebon hawk and learn about the Queen and the treaty with the charr yet.

On second thought. Ebon Hawk wasn’t part of my personal story (which is odd because it’s one of the coolest looking cities/areas in the game) as a charr, you just have to go there to learn about it. You also get hints about it when Logan is near and doing the story missions for dungeons.

P.S. Visit Gwens grave while you’re there. I did as a charr and it felt like sacrilege.

WvW is tough on high-end systems as well. Please do realize it’s a game released in 2012, no matter what, it will be rough somehow on every system. There is no way around it, that’s just how games are today overall.

“New games are always tough on every system” is not only a false statement, it ignores the real problem.

The problem is that the game relies heavily on the CPU instead of the GPU for a lot of its functions. Which is something they’ve known since back in the betas, but never optimized the game’s code to fix. That combined with culling only getting worse means that the “minimum specs” probably are a tad dishonest right now. I have a friend or two affected by this problem, they literally cannot even play in WvW at all because it slows things down too much.

They need to optimize their game or else raise the specs to more appropriate levels. It’s not fair for people to buy the game thinking they can play it well, only to get a nasty surprise after buying. It’ll taint their image of the game.

I’m not sure what you expect when you have 150+ in an area all throwing down their skills at the same time.

It’s going to tax even high end systems. Could it be better? Definitely as far as culling is considered but it’s still completely playable for the most part.

Anet just needs to do what NCsoft did in Aion. Make it so you have the option to only show nameplates with no character models being shown unless you target them. It worked amazingly well in AIon and one of the few thing’s they’ve done right in that game. That way the only thing the servers need to handle and show to players is where people are at.

What this achievement points loss, after a so called server maintenance / reset, further confirms to me it that Anet does much more ‘tweaking’ to the game during these periods than they let on.

This has an impact on players who have been or are trying to collect statistics on loot drops, ecto salvage rates, etc. This basically invalidates any probability assumptions derived from statistical analysis because the game is not even a natural RNG system.

It is more likely that Anet fiddles with a lot more game mechanics during server maintenance than with designated patches or content updates.

You have to take into consideration that just a few weeks ago they made big changes to the achievement system and over the next month and a half they are making even more and bigger changes to achievement’s too.

What could have happened was them putting systems in place that are going to be working with the update on the 26th. And all the achievements that got reset or bugged out are likely ones that they will be changing in those updates**. Yeah it’s annoying but it’s honestly not a huge deal.

That being said, the point that they make more changes than what they actually say is going on during those server maintenance’s is a good point and something a lot of people, myself included, probably never considered or put much thought into.

**If this is true and I’m thinking it is, that means we can look forward to new slayer achievements. One’s that go beyond 1000 kills, which seems rather shallow considering I had a lot of those complete within the first month of the game being released.

That makes it even more embarrassing. If it’s the case that they are doing a great deal of reworking the achievement system, they should have thought of more testing.

Sadly…anet’s QA with this game has been embarrassing since launch. If what I said is true it shouldn’t really be all that surprising given the history. We’re still playing though so I guess they’re doing something right, but still…

The only other company I’ve seen that had worse QA in their game was DICE with Battlefield 3/BC2.

Ascended Amulets, Cant Infuse?

I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure they said the amulets can’t be infused from the start.

Honestly, they needed to add amulets to the fractal vendors that can be infused. Who cares if people had relics stockpiled. Hopefully they will address this oversight in the next update.

Question About Which Level 80 Armour To Get

in Warrior

Posted by: fellyn.5083

fellyn.5083

Toughness won’t help against conditions but it will help against everything else. Vitality will help against conditions because you have more health but doesn’t do anything to actually mitigate damage.

By Seraph do you mean the tier 3 cultural weapon or what? If so that’s only rare and anything exotic will have more stat points.

For warrior there is pretty much only two choices. Knights or berserkers. If you want more survivability go for knights. If you want more damage go for berserkers. You can always mix and match to get the best of both worlds, too.
