With the new LS system will you binge play?

I will probably end up doing what I did for the first LS season: if the reward is a home node I want, if what I’ve heard about the story isn’t off-putting (poor quality), if there is an instance associated with it that my guildmates want to run, then there’s a good chance I will actually do the LS “content”.

Otherwise, like almost all of first Season’s LS, I just won’t bother to do it at all.

At this point in the game, I’ve become so disenfranchised (new development continuing to push me out of the game), that rewards have to be compelling enough, with content geared well enough for a small group, that both overcome my absolute reluctance to deal with more arbitrary zone destruction, annoying mechanics and what appears to be predictable story writing.

Would Anet consider a race change feature?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

40 or so alts ago, I would have jumped at a paid race transfer. Now, I’m done investing in PvE in this game and mostly sticking to WvW.

After the April 15th changes, I did reroll one last alt because I wanted to test their new leveling process. Found I could still get to 80 in 4 days.

However, I get the thought of not wanting to roll again and sympathize.

The personal story was one of the issues with race change, and with the new LS hook added I don’t see any change to ANet’s current stance on paid race changes in the near future.

If they ever do figure out a process to make that easy (without creating more rewards/achievements); it’s possible this could be a gemstore money maker.

My suggestion from before was to not allow transfers unless the character had gotten to at least level 30, where the Order is chosen. Because after that point, the personal stories are pretty much identical across all races.

/shrug

Hope you can either tolerate rerolling a human to get the experience you want, or find continued fun playing your current Charr.

Even though BG is full, you could try to get your friends in to join you. BG has a fabulously friendly, helpful community, which I ’m sure you know.

There are other servers out there that are just as friendly and helpful and welcoming, I’m sure you can find them via the recruitment forums.

See PM I sent.

And good luck!

Hope you and your friends land on the right server for all of you (and if that’s still BG, fantastic!)

Agreed! Love the fact that ANet made materials nodes instanced. That one particular ability went a long way to establishing a good community feel up front.

I am also enjoying another game for PvE, and the return to competing for nodes there just feels like a throwback to the previous decade.

Yes, GW2 spoiled me that way. And it’s much appreciated.

If you are following a good commander in WvW (and yes, they do exist), don’t salute, take the time to send them a brief thank you, telling them what you enjoyed. Don’t spend overly long time with them, unless they’ve already tagged down. Trust me, as volunteers trying to help other players and their server, they are busy when tagged, and most appreciate thanks and positive comments.

…and mail them siege or gold to buy siege. They need and appreciate it.

Yes! Every little bit helps.

It’s ANet’s game. They own it. It’s theirs.

It’s been proven, for almost 2 years, that ANet will do what it wants, when it wants to this game despite feedback from customers, despite cries of “pride”, customer experience, concerns over destroying communities, destroying zones, removing content, resetting hard-won levels (fractals) etcetera.

If there is money to be had via the gemstore, what makes any one particular skin and any customer-associated meaning override the necessity of creating much-needed cash to pay the bills? Development, servers, employees require payment, even if the game is “free”.

All of the above falls under the heading of “it’s just business”.

Perhaps the customers in China would like the skins.

Why people criticize Anet

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

goldenwing.8473

Going to keep this response very short:

There are plenty of players who have not played GW1. Some players are voicing concerns based on expectations (many set by pre-release marketing from ANet), experience with other games (sometimes over a decade’s worth and then some), understanding of basic business principles (valued customer experience, vendor communication, etcetera)…

…I’ll just leave it at that.

Why arn't people angrier?

goldenwing.8473

What will getting angry accomplish?

ANet has proven for almost 2 years straight now, that they will do what they want, when they want with this game, for all playstyle modes, regardless of customer experience and customer feedback/suggestions/testing.

It is their game, and they do get to do what they want.

Accept, tolerate or vote with your feet/wallet are the choices left to customers in response.

I would post more, but again, there’s no point.

Anet will only care when another company comes along and does WvW (what we have now) better and it takes away their bling.

For the amount I have already spent on this game (which I don’t regret), I’d have to play another 10+ years of GW2 to get my money’s worth (comparable subscription prices.) I can’t imagine that happening, given the current lack of communication/attention/direction.

I’ve already voted with my wallet by closing it here and opening it for another game.

Still playing WvW though and waiting for CU (target 2015), which is being developed (for good or bad) by the same developer who created the original RvR which ANet borrowed (in concept) for GW2’s WvW.

Open World Free for All Server?

goldenwing.8473

FFA servers in PvE centric games usually end up being a bad business investment.

They tend to self-implode as a small set of players harass enough new players coming in that the players stop coming in, the old ones get bored without fresh meat, and then population declines. (example: see: DAoC and the death of Mordred and Andred servers.)

And yes, alas, the days of losing your gear when killed are long over. As are bounty hunting other players.

Lack of on-going communication on the WvW forum is a legitimate concern, given the experience of WvW players on this forum for the past year at least, including the situations with CDI, questions about map creation and the handling of Wexp.

Numerous threads out here raising concern about this issue have gone unaddressed long enough to create player apathy. (For example: see: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Why-arn-t-people-angrier/first#post4141187)

There are other, older threads which directly raise the concern about lack of communication. (example: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Our-Community-1/page/2#post3935041)

and (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Community-Engagement/first#post3884148)

Those are just a few examples.

Xillllix, I share your concern (as do my guildmates), as WvW is all that is keeping us with GW2 at the moment. We have already subscribed to another game for PvE (moving our dollars there) and CU is due out in 2015. Would love to think that ANet is planning surprise announcements to coincide with GW2’s 2-year anniversary. Given that ANet typically teases new content and is not right now, I don’t expect new WvW content this year. I’d love to be wrong.

Why do people play anything other than a war?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

The better question would be:

Why does anyone play a necro? No mobility, lowest DPS of all classes, no active defenses, and very little group support. The only situation where a necro doesn’t objectively make your group worse is 3-headed wurm for the trash.

Poorly speccd/geared classes that are used in cookie cutter play often do not perform well. A lot depends on the situation and player skill. That holds for every class.

I’m sorry you’ve run into Necros that might have fallen into that category.

Creatively speccd/geared/played Necros can offer good group support (heals/protection/cc), high AoE dps, and shine in Fractals, Explorables (yes, tanking/dps in Arah), WvW and SPvP. They have incredibly high vitality / survivability and intelligent spec/use of DS provides some situation-winning abilities that other classes do not have.

- part of a 4 player group that has done Fractals/Explorables and WvW (towers/keeps) with 2 Necros and 2 Elems.

We’ve found that our Necros (spec/gear) are interchangeable with warriors. (And yes, we also have/play zerker warriors, among other professions/builds.)

To main or not main, that is the question!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

goldenwing.8473

Personal opinion, since you asked: I’d go Necro. Only because my guild has done Fractals/Explorables with only 4 of us grouped: 2 Necros, 1 Guardian, 1 Elem. (We’ve done other combos of Warrior/Mesmer/Ranger.) Most of our Fractal leveling was with 2 well-speccd (dagger/dagger/staff and dagger/warhorn/staff) Necros in the group. Our latest runs, the dagger/warhorn Necro traded out for his Warrior just because he’s enjoying Warrior for the first time.

Our 4-man swat team for WvW is 2 Necros, 2 Eles and we are quite capable of both taking keeps/towers, (even when scouted) as well as defending.

Appropriately speccd/geared, a Necro can tank, do massive AoE dps, is good for PvE, SPvP and WvW.

My first level 80 (out of 29 level 80’s) was a dagger/dagger/staff Necro, used for tanking outdoor bosses in Orr and in WvW, so, yes, I’m a little biased. ( My main now is an Elementalist, for Fractals/WvW and I usually bring a Ranger for Explorables. )

Good luck with whatever you decide.

And have fun.

Bottom line: Play what you love. You’ll be more effective and have more fun.

Guildmate convinced me to give the LS another chance, (since I’ve been playing another game.) Slightly disappointed and not surprised that I got completely through all the story parts (from the start through today’s) in a couple of hours. The writing, although better than last season, was still both predictable and cheesy enough to leave my former opinion of this game intact. I won’t share it because I don’t particularly want to be infracted. I like the game, I don’t like what has been done to it since release. I’m having a hard time taking it seriously.

Still enjoying WvW, and like many other WvW players, have given up any hope for new content there. (See: WvW board for understanding.)

I agree with those concerned about both content and quality. That has been an on-going concern now for over a year.

I’ve accepted that GW2 is what it is and is not likely to change. I’m tolerating what WvW offers. And I’ve already voted by shutting my wallet here and opening it up for another game.

Everyone should play what works for them.

See sig, plenty of experience with multiple classes, including 6 or 7 warriors (I’ve lost track) in different specs/gear. In Explorables, Fractals and WvW. With only 4 of us in the group.

We’ve all seen these threads pop up from time to time and although it speaks to the game design, it also speaks to a perspective that is not necessarily embraced by all players.

Warriors are fun, and are effective.

And so are other classes, for other players, doing other parts of the game. Including PvP.

PS: not saying I support or don’t support ANet’s style of reporting griefing; I can understand why they have not made it easier to report griefing and how the reporting itself can lead to griefing. Apparently taking the time to create an email means the situation actually warrants attention and probably cuts down on the unnecessary and/or potentially frivolous or retaliatory uses of reporting specific players/guilds.

I was merely pointing out ANet does have a process that has been in place since release.

It’s a known fact that for WvW, Anet does nothing with reports communicated in this way. If PvE reports are treated the same way, you’re just wasting your time.

We know issues reported for WvW keep continuing. WvW community is very aware of which ones those are, unfortunately. Guessing, based on past experience, that PvE related issues are treated differently. Also, in PvE, screenshots would actually capture names (instead of “unknown”).

GvG promotes exclusivity.

Many players came to GW2 and are staying with GW2 because of the inclusive, server-pride based WvW play.

The same question was asked a year ago, and six months ago, and more recently by players new to the WvW scene who do not understand this is just the way it is.

This forum has seen more developer interaction on an on-going basis than other sub forums have seen.

Same reason I enjoy other games: challenge.

Because the fun is in the challenge and learning how to overcome it.

And in WvW, even with same old strategies, same basic principles, the challenge is not necessarily the same every time, and the outcome is never certain.

Competition (see: Reverence’s post). Spot on.

Inclusive community. No matter how competitive, how much server pride is involved (also a great reason), there is a larger community of WvW players who all know that without each other, we have no endgame to enjoy. We all have that in common.

Time to remove servers -> REAL "Guild" Wars

in WvW

Posted by: goldenwing.8473

goldenwing.8473

Hmm, I have been convinced by you and other posters about the value of inclusiveness. But I think my proposal can be adjusted to support it.

The key question is, for the random PUGs that don’t want to join a guild and just want to hop on and play, does it matter where they are playing?
If the answer is no, then we can have some sort of system that assigns Mercenaries to Alliances on the fly. We can just do it randomly, but I’m thinking of a more complicated system that tries to make people happy:

- Alliances can specify that they are need of more players at the moment, which will increase their odds of receiving Mercenaries.
- Mercenaries can specify whether they want variety or continuity. If the former, the system will try to assign them to different Alliances, if the latter, it will try to assign them to Alliances they have played with before.
- Alliances can blacklist particular players. (possibly with some form of regulation, like they have to give a reason for the blacklisting that can be reviewed by ANet.)
- Or maybe some sort of thumbs up / thumbs down system that will tend to bring together Mercenaries and Alliances that like each other.

Although I have been convinced of the value of inclusiveness, I haven’t been convinced that competition and community aren’t mutually exclusive.

You just need to look at all the negative feedback about stacked servers, bandwagon transfers, lopsided matches, unfair matchmaking, outnumbered buff, etc etc to see that the current system doesn’t encourage players to feel that wins/losses are within their control or meaningful.

Or am I judging too much from forum whiners? (such as myself) Is there a silent majority out there who are really passionate about their server ranking, winning the WvW seasons, etc, and feel that their victories and losses are fair and entirely dependent on their community’s effort?

Appreciate your openness and respect your attempt to provide a good, fun environment for many players.

Yes, there is a majority of players in WvW who are absolutely passionate about winning, their ranking and feel those are dependent on their community’s effort. Most of the core WvWers. those regulars who talk about server pride, who are concerned that the megaserver structure inhibits their ability to run into Lion’s Arch, or one of the major cities and rally the PvE, PvX crowd to come help when the battles get hot are extremely competitive players.

That is why there is so much concern about what are perceived as the negative results of the flawed implementation of GW2’s WvW coupled with server transfers:

all the accusations about stacking, bandwagoners, lopsided matches, win trading, etcetera are in part because many feel those negate their community’s efforts as they are trying to win.

Community, competitive spirit and winning are not mutually exclusive.

How the win occurs differs:

One perspective values winning through and with and for community.

The other often fosters winning in spite of and usually by excluding parts of a community.

Excluding community within an MMO incents those excluded to leave the game. In other words, those players who are “cut” from the “sports team” aren’t going to just sit in the stands and watch and cheer for those on the field and be happy about it.

GW2 is not a sport.

It’s an MMO.

Where players expect to be able to play themselves. Otherwise why have the game?

I signed up to play GW2 based on that “fundamental flaw” of WvW (e.g. 3-way server vs server.)

What aspect of Server vs. Server gameplay do you love/need, that would be missing from my Alliance system?

As far as I can tell, there’s only one key difference between Alliance v A and Server v S – whether “teams” get to choose who to recruit or exclude.

Incentive.

Being a part of something bigger.

Inclusivity. Automatically. Without the exclusivity inherent in the sports-style “pick me” team approach.

This is the biggest difference between most of those that prefer GvG gameplay versus those that prefer community-oriented play that benefits both the WvW community and (the larger) PvE community they belong to.

The difference is players focused on the technical aspects of playing versus those that are focused on the social aspect.

This is concept aside from tangible rewards.

50% of a given population will focus on the social aspect of a given situation. This has been scientifically proven over the last 40+ years. We’ve also seen evidence of this in GW2 based on the number of threads / posts related to WvW, the megaserver’s impact on WvW and continuing threads regarding server loyalty. For those players, a server is more than a collection of players grouped together in anonymous sports-style-picked teams. Those players are playing for more than just a technical playstyle, for points, for rewards, or ladder-style bragging rights. (And btw, those are not mutually exclusive with technical excellence/skill.)

Again, see the numerous threads in this forum over the last year+.

Yes, 50% of a given population would enjoy the technical aspect of a given situation, without specific concern for social content. There are multiple MMO’s that offer this style play, including the two latest “contenders”: TESO and Wildstar.

At the moment, GW2 offers the only (flawed as it is), community-oriented approach to PvP , which borrowed from the best community-oriented PvP that has existed to-date in the MMO industry (DAoC’s RvR.) Many are hoping CU (which is being developed by the same creator, Mark Jacobs), will replicate that same community-oriented feeling, enough that the game is actually player-funded.

Again, see the many eloquent posts out here talking about server communities.

Neither playstyle is better than the other, the focus is different. It is possible to have both in this game, which has been suggested multiple times.

Eliminating the current design concept (which everyone agrees needs adjustment), eliminates the differentiation that GW2 offers as a game.

If I wanted GvG, I would play Wildstar’s version which has the concept implemented in a way that was designed from the get-go and not something that would be spliced in after the fact, displacing players from the original WvW intent at release.

I agree there is a constituency of players in this game that would like to have viable GvG implemented. There have been suggestions and discussions back and forth regarding this for over a year, including ones similar to that from the OP.

There is still not consensus among the players regarding GvG versus server vs server.

Megaserver creates issues for WvW but does not necessitate the elimination of the original design.

See: threads here regarding previous GvG suggestions, server loyalty threads (including suggestion for rewarding loyalty), and countless threads asking for improvements to current server vs server design.

If this is SEA, then the reasons for this current situation have already been discussed here and on the matchup forum.

There will probably not be any significant change to this situation during off-season for the reasons previously discussed in those threads.

If you are looking for reasonable play / fights / fun, you may need to transfer.

Good luck.

I’m absolutely not expecting any (significant) changes to WvW within the next two years, based on the last two.

Given that most of the up and coming content will be LS-related, I will continue to do what I have with it before: play some, ignore most, log on for my guild (dungeons/fractals/WvW), play WvW and continue to research other games while waiting for the next one that provides the best possible fit for my playstyle. (Currently playing Wildstar while using GW2 for WvW.)

Again, I assume an indefinite status quo for both my expectations for WvW and what ANet actually delivers. ANet is, of course, always allowed to surprise me. Hopefully, in a positive way.

5 man team

A lot depends on exactly what you plan to do, builds and how well those classes are played. Our 4-man swat team runs with 2 staff eles and 2 necros. We are running custom specs that work with our individual strengths as well as providing group synergy. There’s enough dps/defense to hold our own against 12-20 man groups, and we can still take lords fast enough under pressure in a scouted keep or tower.

We’ve also run guardian/ele/2 necros and all of us have experimented with warrior. Necros are staff/dagger (one is dagger/warhorn, the other is dagger/dagger).

Looking at it from the other side, generally we don’t have problems going up against warriors/thiefs/eles/guardians. Well-played mesmers can give us fits.

Experiment, play what works well for each of you. Don’t go “cookie cutter” or “best practice” if it doesn’t work for that individual player; that can end up creating the ‘weakest link’ which can impact the group. Good luck and most of all: have fun.

Why arn't people angrier?

What will getting angry accomplish?

ANet has proven for almost 2 years straight now, that they will do what they want, when they want with this game, for all playstyle modes, regardless of customer experience and customer feedback/suggestions/testing.

It is their game, and they do get to do what they want.

Accept, tolerate or vote with your feet/wallet are the choices left to customers in response.

I would post more, but again, there’s no point.

Ironically, people bought this game because Anet did what they wanted to when they developed it. Somehow, people feel empowered because they play the game, and believe they should be able to dictate what the company that makes the game is doing.

We live in such an entitled society, and the reality is, no one is entitled to jack kitten in life.

Anet has to consider a lot of factors when they alter the game, not just 1 persons views. They do research, they pay attention to what is already popular in the game, they listen to people, etc. Also, whether the WvW team wants to do something or not, they have to get approval from people above them, who might not even play the game. And, in the end, it all goes back to NC Soft, who published and funded the game.

So, yeah, people can get angry, people can cry, but they should just take a business class, and maybe some game development classes, or read some articles on www.gamasutra.com about how the game industry is ran. It is always easy to be an arm chair developer, but the actual process is anything but easy.

Enjoy the game for what it is, and what you bought it for. You didn’t buy GW2 when it came out, to boss around the developers, and to make them bow down to you. No one buys a single player game, or a console / PC shooter, to boss around the company that makes those games.

Get real people. If you don’t like the game, if it is really causing you this much unhappiness, then play something else. It isn’t a job (unless you are a gold farmer), it is entertainment. If I am watching a crappy movie, I just stop it and try a different movie.

Yes, it’s business. It’s management, it’s marketing, it’s vision. And it’s about the development process.

And it’s about the customer, without whom none of the above matters.

Balance.

I take it your question has now been sufficiently answered? It’s understood these days, that for karma from WvW, EotM is the place to go.

If you’re interested in actually acquiring karma (which is more of a PvE pursuit), try the boss schedule on Dulfy; there’s a major event every 15 mins, all you have to do is join the world event train.

As a retired software developer, who fully understands programming (not scripting), I have nothing to apologize for regarding any complaints I may have made regarding this delay.

I also understand the importance of customer experience, marketing, testing, prioritization, scheduling, respect for customers and resulting customer loyalty.

Glad to see ANet decided to offer a compensation for lack of some of the above. That may help create a sense of goodwill among some of the playerbase.

Now, as a former manager, I could also ask: what are ANet’s plans to ensure this does not occur again, given the performance after both S1 and S2? I’m only a customer, however, so my choice is to either wait and see what happens next time, or leave before then assuming the pattern has already been set.

Please Boost Dragonite Ore Drops

..snip

In short:

Most players got their Ascendeds
The ability to get mats for Ascendeds was nerfed after most players had theirs
New players will have a much harder time, as will folks gearing new alts
And now people whining about the mats building up in your vault, and want to make it even harder for new players and those with alts?

Talk about rolling up the welcome mat! I think that’s bad for business.

The phrase I was tempted to use on my post above was “anti-community”. I understand asking for profession nerfs from PvP and WvW players. That’s a given in any game. Asking to nerf drops? That impact the folks standing next to you helping you fight those bosses in events and dungeons? I still don’t get that.

Please Boost Dragonite Ore Drops

“If you want Dragonite, go farm World Bosses.”

Most of the world bosses give 3-5 dragonite ore and farming the ore that way is extremely unefficient.

Every time I show up in Orr, all the temples are done and this used to be the only safe way to get the ore.

Am I supposed to spend hours in Edge of the Mists, flipping the Red Keep in order to get ore?

Arena net should either increase the dragonite drop rate, or put the temples on a timetable together with the world bosses. Not to mention that the Megadestroyer doesn’t even drop ore.

It is extremely frustrating to be sitting on all the mats needed to craft an ascended weapon or armor piece, and not being able to do so because of the kittenty dragonite ore.

I hate the megaservers and how they messed up the Temple Events

You know what’s frustrating? Sitting on so much Dragonite, that I need to constantly have to go to my crafting station to turn them into Ingots. They need to nerf Dragonite and increase Empyreals, because I’d rather do my content that happens to only give Dragonites.

Note – I haven’t done a temple is weeks, so my Dragonites don’t come from there.

You know, my bank is overflowing with empyreals. I can legitimately get a minimum of 90 to a hundred in less than 20 minutes on a daily basis at every reset. I could get double that if I had all my alts trying to do so, might add an extra 15 minutes, 20 minutes top if I actually have to move 1 or 2 of them.

There is no way in hell I would EVER ask for ANet to nerf a drop because I have too much. I understand there are other players in the game who cannot do what I do because of the sheer volume of alts that I have.

I do not understand the players that complain about "I have too much for my playstyle, please nerf other players. "

The idea of exchanging materials is a good one. Allows players who enjoy their particular playstyle, and/or who have time constraints to be able to make progress with their ascended gear viable without forcing them into play that they do not or cannot do.

I have 2 characters fully geared in ascended. I have 2 more that have bits and pieces and third I was working on when the megaserver changes went in that affected the Orr temples.

I play WvW late nights/weekends with my guild. I run dungeons with them on the weekends (explorables/fractals), and used to run the bosses during the week (late morning/afternoon). The bosses and temples were fun events, sometimes with less than a half dozen people, challenging and social. Until Megaserver.

As other posters have said, the Orr temples are now haphazard, catch-as-catch can. Everything else is on a 15 minute timer. Events do not repeat as often. I could do Fire Shaman or Dwayna 4 or so times a day on my home server, using different level 80s which was a lot more fun than catching the boss-train with only one profession.

Events have gotten laggier, spammier, (sometimes harder because it appears not everyone understands the encounter), and less social. When it got to the point where I was constantly wanting to turn off map chat because it had devolved down into Barrens / Goldshire conversations, I felt I might as well have been playing another game. And people complained about an occasional issue in Queensdale? I miss playing with folks from my home server and the culture we developed there.

I also don’t understand the people who say ascended is only good for Fractals. I won’t take a character out into WvW now without ascended/laurel imbues. That was my last refuge for playing this game: WvW. That was my motivation for getting dragonite. Even with the fact that my guild can turn both Hills/Bay on the same map with only 4 of us and help take Garri/SM with the rest of our community (yes, I play on that much hated T1 server), my guild and I are not “swimming” in dragonite.

Community has been diluted. drops nerfed, trains destroyed, and with it the social aspects of the game that I used to enjoy on my server.

Ability to get dragonite has been nerfed with the megaserver/bosses on a strict schedule/Orr temple changes.

At this point, I’ve stopped playing PvE, stopped trying to get any more ascended gear, stopped trying to find anything socially rewarding outside of WVW. That’s also why I won’t do EotM: for me it represents the ultimate loss of community that I used to enjoy about this game.

Sorry for the digression.

I’d like to be able to enjoy GW2 PvE again, to be able to play the way I like, to enjoy encounters again instead of being on a strict schedule that ANet made, with map chat turned off.

Instead of feeling like I need to “man up” and play the way everyone else thinks I should, including ANet. And advocating for more options (like exchanges) against those who claim that farming dragonite their way is the only way, the easiest/fastest/most abundant.

If I wanted to play that way, I would have chosen a different game that actually provides BETTER rewards for doing exactly that.

Without a DF to fight for as part of the motivation, and with the use of server transfers, the original concept has been implemented in a far different way.

Also: do you allow wall climbing? (Just asking. )

PS: Repairs: encumbrance anyone? Spending gold/plat rather than making a milk run to a supply camp.

Guild and I are playing both Wildstar and GW2.

We are continuing with GW2 for WvW.

Since GW2 is “free” if you choose to play it that way, nothing to stop anyone from picking it up for some WvW fun.

To answer your question though: WvW continues to be what you / your guild make of it. Nothing has changed there. Play for PPT, or fights, or both. Roamers are now mostly going cond build (see patch notes April 15th).

The only thing of interest is that WExp is now account bound.

There have been some tweaks to traits. ANet decided to overhaul, er, change, the trait system leaving it not particularly better or worse off.

ANet is still non-communicative about the present and future of WvW.

In short: come back for nostalgia’s sake but don’t expect it to be much different than when you left.

Lol, your post brought back forgotten memories: “Bob” the Midgard giant who would punt you literally to the next zone…

And omg, yes, the kiting.. lol Good times.

What’s even more funny is that Wildstar allows guilds doing GvG to summon a Boss mob they have previously downed into the warzone.

If ANet allowed something like that, imagine the coverage in off hours.
