The 1 second lag factor is good point which ensures frenzy always hits somewhat. In addition in the heat of battle with all the spell effects going off to expect a player to react instantaneously to frenzy is not fair NOR FUN.
That is the most important thing. Frenzy takes the FUN out of sPVP.
I prefer longer fights, even if I loose, because atleAST i got a lot of time to PLAY my character. That is the reason FRENZY is not fun. Because it takes away time you actually get to play and control your character, by making you die in 2 seconds.

I make this build specifically to go in hotjoin and kill other thieves, only other thieves.

id rather play the game as it is now than have to wait another 6months before they release it. i’m gonna keep complaining about changes i want to see because i want them to know. but i understand they (the devs) also take time to develop and test changes.
It is in the best interests for all players (PVP WVW PVE) if this seperation happens. Otherwise you have three pools of dissatisfied customers because you can’t please all of them. Seperation keeps everyone happy.

Take your post as an example. Look at how much people have to read just to prepare to defend themselves against thieves. But do thieves have to do the same amount of work in order to burst people down in 3 seconds?

It takes MUCH more skill to react to a “I’m going to kill you in 3 seconds” move, than to initiate that move. That is why there are so many complaints about imbalance.
An average player learns the deadly thief combo and starts picking his assasination targets. But the average victim does not have the reflexes to react quickly enough. That is why people are getting 1 shotted left and right in hotjoin sPVP.
Thieves deserve further nerfs, but more importantly frenzy/quickness needs a rehaul

Quickness has ruined SPVP hotjoins. It’s just a bunch of ppl spamming with 2shot builds.
I understand if Anet wants to take time to be sure their changes are positive, but god i hope they are smart enough to realize quickness needs to be heavily nerfed.
I hear you. As a hotjoin fan I am taking a break from this game until they fix Frenzy and the crazy kill you in 2 seconds builds.

Did your even read my post? My whole point was saying that right now if I choose two only equip a one weapon I am severely hindered in terms of dps and abilities. That’s why I’m asking 40 bulk in traits for warriors and possibly Guardians if they choose to specialize in only one two hander weapon.
The current trait of which reduces great sword cool downs by 20% is a good start but it’s not enough.

What if there was a menu option that had you select and choose the control method that you want for your character. First there would be a classic RPG. Second is action combat. I really think the GW 2 combat mode mod is a great thing and I hope a net implements it in the future.
In true action combat games such as dark siders devil may cry or TERA when you press left right or back each character will respectively move right move left or turn around and moved back. Even in the combat mode mod this is not available as the character still turns one you press left or right and walks backwards right then and turns around and walk backwards. I hope some people know what I’m talking about.
Since there was an interview saying that they will be porting GW 2 to console, I am really hopeful that additional control schemes will be added. I’m an avid controller game pad user and although right now I am making do with what I have and playing fairly this game with the controller, I can see the game being a much better experience if better controller friendly options were added.
I have a lot of confidence in A net right now and their responsiveness to many other issues makes me believe that they will respond eventually to this but only in their best judgment not too soon because they don’t want to go back and forth on their decisions.
But I have to say I really hope they do change the camera rather than ignore it because the current setup does feel very clunky
Maybe in the end of they were hoping that PVP players who are very skilled and adaptive what eventually get used to feel of the camera. Because the character starts turning as soon as you press the turn button or the mouse turn. It’s only the camera which lags behind which item it does feel awkward.
the developers chose to have the camera have the inertia as it currently does. For those who still have been noticed when you rotate the camera it doesn’t precisely following your mouse movement. In the beginning there is a slight delay in the camera rotation speed as if to mimic the movement of a real camera. Think of a steady cam or some other film camera being panned in a scene. The camera doesn’t just immediately start jerking to the left or right but instead accelerates into the movement speed.
Many Players especially PVP players complained because this feels very clunky. I agree. mybe why they chose this instead of a completely In real time camera movement system. The answer is because shout casts. Shout casts and E sports is the reason. It simply makes the game more pleasant on the eye to watch during a PVP match. If you look at for example world of war craft PVP videos on youtube many of the top players constantly jerk their mouse and it is very irritating on the eyes of the audience watching the video.
I think the developers thought OK we have an option either we make it very pleasant to watch or make it extremely responsive to play somewhere we have to make a compromise. On one hand players would like a more responsive camera and that would mean the game becomes more popular in PVP. However to make the game into a successful E sport, you also need a large audience who enjoy watching the game. And the more audience that watches the game the more players will be motivated to play the game. So maybe this is their compromise.
I for one am all for responsiveness and I do think the camera is clunky especially compared to the extremely responsive PVP of world of war craft. On a side note I still enjoy the PVP in guild wars 2 much more than in world of War craft. But I also have to admit the PVP videos and shout casts have a very lifelike camera movement has if a real camera was hovering above the player.

What about having a slider that lets you adjust your keyboard turn speed. There are some players with shoulder injuries who really prefer to use keyboard turning over mouse turning even in PVP.
PVP players as skilled as they are and as adaptive as they are wILL GET used to the camera in eventually not even notice it. Just my speculation however this to me makes the most sense because there is no way the developers did not bring this up as an issue when it is such an integral part of a PVP gaming experience
It also makes for a more realistic feeling camera because of the inertia. Shout casts and PVP videos look much nicer because usually what you see are the top players jerking around their mouse quickly and the screen jerking and shaking. This isn’t exactly easy or pleasing to watch.

I tried this with hammer warrior f1 ability but it doesn’t work. I think the wiki may be confused with Quick cast.
To be clear, Quick cast auto-casts the ground target wherever your cursor is. What I’m looking for is something that auto-casts the ground target at the location of your current target (i.e. the foe you have targeted).

Now you cannot just swap weapons and have both weapons be great sword. It does nothing to call downs remained the same. It’s the same with any other weapon if I equip main handed axe in both weapons sets even when I switch sets the cool downs for the axe remain the same.
Yes I know there are some traits that benefit the great sword but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t still kittened to play with only the great sword. I would just like to see a bit more of a buff. I don’t want to be overpowered I just want to p on par or at least close to on par with other players.
When you say no that’s not have the class is designed my reply is that is why I am suggesting a change. My change is requested due to the fact that I think a warrior should be dedicated to using a single weapon if he chooses and secondly that I view it is extremely awkward two imagine a furious two hander wielding warrior stowaway his big weapon and pull out another big weapon.
Basically a class should be only limited to one pet at the time. necronmancer mesmer each have three pets and then there are elite abilities like thieves guild. The screen is so crowded during a PVP match that I am a hard time seeing and targeting.
But another issue is player skill. An elemental list has to control his every move every ability is bound to some key that he has the physically press. Yes you can summon in earth elemental but that is just one pet not three. The more pets you have the more automation you have if a mesmeric and summon pets to fight for him and all he has to do is run away then where is the skill in that compared to that of an elemental list.
It makes other players feel like they are fighting npcs when they should be PVP. The player who has more skills should win. But in this case the player who has who has NP C’s win for them wins.
Yes you can counter argue that it takes skill to know when to summon pets but the problem is once summoned those pets start fighting for you. If I cast the fireball that fireball will only damage for me once but if I summon an illusion that illusion will fight for me until the player enemy dies. Now adding the fact that I can summon three NP C’s and you make the fight even more biased. And not only do npcs do damage for you but they also trick other players into targeting them which means safety for you. So now the NPC becomes the damage ability as well as the healing ability to last for a long time without the player having to take any further action.
I can take the idea of having only one pet because after all some classes are rooted in having pets and it’s a fun thing to have a pet. But two make the pet as powerful as the player or even more so and to have three pets is just out of control.
Any class can kill you fast if you are low on health and if he can do a much faster because heart seeker scales that’s a very fair. A thief lies outside of battle and waits until somebody is low on health and then goes in for the kill. That’s not very fun for other players to always have to be paranoid thinking that a thief is going to pop out and heart seeker them.
Basically no other class makes other players have a less fun in a less enjoyable time in PVP as the thief. The other classes that come close would be the classes with a lot of pets because it makes them hard to target and just confuses other players making the screen a mess.
But the current abundance of NPC pets is another issue.
No sorry but you cannot just sneak up two someone like a thief does and kill them in the same time frame that the thief would. Heart seeker is designed to scale with lower HP so a thief just wait outside and waits until the team gets that somebody low on health and in the thief runs in or shall I say shadow steps in and start spamming his ability a
It’s just frustrating to experience this type of thing as a victim. Any thief who thinks that their class is fair needs to rethink.
I guess the thing is I listened to really loud music when I do PVP I actually enjoy the year randomness and chaos. I certainly wouldn’t be able to play organized PVP because I wouldn’t even be able to hear a voice chat because I am music playing.
And so it’s not so much as hot join being really o my god this is fun as much as it is my best option. That being said listening to really loud music or just music you enjoy and doing hot join PVP is still pretty fun. I just really want to see the balance issues worked out
It is not fun being repeatedly ganked by two thieves who are from the same server or are on each other’s contact lists. It’s absolutely disgusting to see this type of thing in hot join PVP
And you’re right being zerged is not fun but maybe if they increased player base defense and made larger health pools that would help the situation. Right now players are dying way to quickly especially to burst classes. I can dodge a few hard seekers from one thief but in the last game I played I had these two thieves griefing me the whole match. I know now what kind of person thinks this is fun but it’s probably some prepubescent or teenage boys who get a snicker out of making people miserable.
Thank god there is no full stealth thief like in world of war craft world of war craft. There are even people on the forums asking for full stealth ability I am just laughing thinking yeah because you want to go around thinking ganking people and not having to die at all
The player base for thieves is a really large right now in S PVP. Like half the match all I see are these going around spamming pistol whip, heart seeker,

Another disadvantage would be the spell not being able to be used to target ahead and end up missing a running player.
If you cast the spell with a moving player targeted the AOE will land wherever the player was when you activated the AOE ability. It is not like other spells that will follow a moving player.
1. Yes obviously there would be advantages but there would also be disadvantages such as not being able to set traps and have precise control.
Say if two players were close by if I were skilled enough I could AOE target so that both of them wore in my AOE circle. But if I turn on AOE auto targeting then there is a chance that one of the two players might be missed.
2. Now I am not referring to a fast ground targeting. I already tried to that. I mean not having two use the mouse cursor two target AOE at all. It’s simply targets your current enemy target.
There is a warlock spell in wow craft that was originally in AOE target. But they changed it to having an option two auto target your current selected enemy because in many players wanted the option

I suggest cutting cool downs by ¾ if I choose two only use one weapon. And two allow this only for hammer and great sword

First to be clear about what i want: Already in game is Quick cast which auto-casts the ground target wherever your CURSOR is. What I’m looking for is something that auto-casts the ground target at the location of your **current target (i.e. the foe you have targeted).
Something about having TO release my right mouse button and target an aoe really breaks the smoothness of a fight
What about having an option to automatically target your current target with a AOE? turns it into any other range ability, many people would prefer this.
This does not turn it into a Normal Range ability because it doesn’t follow moving targets like other range spells do. It will only be cast at the position of the enemy when you activated the ability. Therefore it is easy to miss moving enemies when you have AOE auto targeting (not the same as fast ground targeting which is already available in game).
No it is not an advantage because you lose out on many of the tactical elements like setting traps. I simply really dislike using AOE. Especially because it prevents me from using many of my favorite weapons.
Hammer warrior? Nope because the AOE. Longbow ranger? No AOE targeting please.

Are there any players out there that you would like To see some traits that allow you to use only one to hander I really don’t like the idea of having to switch out of the big heavy two hander in the middle of the fight.
So can we just played a warrior dedicated two only using one weapon? And I don’t mean swapping from great sword two hammer. I just want to specialize an only a great sword or only a hammer.
1. option to disable combat text/notifications. I don’ tneed “new event nearby” poppign in the screen while i am trying to watch my enemy.
2. option to disable UI elements. Screen is too cluttered as it is. Party health bars should be hideable.
And once again, WAY TOO many pets for too many classes. One pet max one turret max is all we need. Take away gaurdian weapons or make them untargettable. Take away gang of thieves. My suggestions may not be best, but I hope this gets improved because targetting is a mess right now.

Happens after launcher downloads the 2mb gw2.tmp file. I have to delete the old exe and rename the tmp. Then it works.
Can we make it a gray flash or yellow. Seriously have to look away.
