Anyone notice that character looks fine when standing still and swings weapon, but when running the torso looks detached from the body?
I think they need to add reworked animations because it seems they are reusing the upper body animations for both standing and running.
Most noticed on humans and sylavari with a 1h sword.
Do we really need the rock dog yet another NPC in an already crowded mess of NPC pets?
Unless you seperate the PUG solo vs group que, solo-players like me are going to have a very bad time getting rolled by premade groups.
I hated going into a WoW random battleground and seeing a premade.
The answer is not “go make some friends and form your own premade” because I don’t enjoy that. I simply enjoy playing with other randoms.
So I am fine with implementing what you say, only if PUG solo players can have their own que,,, but then, the que times and number of available games would get worse

And of course it isn’t fun when those hotjoin fights consist of burst and bunker buiilds that are way too extreme.
Thiings that make hotjoin not fun:
Getting killed out of nowhere in 5 seconds…
Having people constantly restealthing or long (shadow refuge) stealthing
I play only hotjoins and free tournies, and I dont care as much for doing objectives than having a fun fight with other players. When I spend most of my time in a match running from base to base or defending a empyty node, that is not fun. That’s why I play hotjoin/free, because it’s more about fighting whereas high end tournies are more about playing objectives.
My point is, with all the focus on balancing paid high end tournies, don’t forget there are players who just want to go in for a nice solo PUG random battle and that’s where hotjoin/freetourny comes in.
But hotjoin is too zergy and free tournies aren’t PUG only. If free tournies were PUG only, that would be great for me.
In addition, balance around FUN, fair fights. Fighting certain burst bunker or stealth builds right now feel neither fun nor fair.

i bought gw2 solely for pvp as well
not tpvp, but random spvp
i have to say i dont know another game better currently, the closest is WoW but right now battlegrounds are riddled with bots and blizz isnt doing much

i think the halloween event making changes to the maps was a very good addition,, guards being skeletons and trebs throwing pumpkins
Right now the maps feel a bit monotone and I would like more stimulating color schemes/design
rather than putting in new game modes which would make balancing harder,,, id rather just have them make the maps more happy/entertaining to play in to offset the harsh I KILL YOU NOW mood of PVP
My wishlist:
1) day/night versions for current maps,,, this spices things up a bit,,, imagine a orange evening sunlight glow hitting the forest of nifhelfle it would be really beautiful
2) happy, wacky map colors,,, some color schemees and architecture that makes maps feel less serious and grim
3) future maps: circus, snowy moutains (with log cabins), ancient mayan ruins,
Max stealth duration should be 5 seconds stacked,,, stacking more just makes it extremely annoying to other players
don’t take shortcuts to thief design by giving them longer stealth,,, find some real cool tricks for the class, not abusive stealth abilities that make PVP UNFUN for other players
I am fairly certain that it’s an issue of manpower,,,they dont have a team of 100 programmers dedicated to implementing pvp features,,, code is tough to write and debug,,, it just takes time
in the mean time i try to keep optimistic and support arenanet because the pvp i can see a lot of potential in the future
I prefer whine posts rather than an empty forum,,, seriously the core PVP in this game is very solid and as long as the devs keep pushing balance and features then i am very optimistic
i just want to let people know that there are people who REALLY want to see this PVP shine and simply are forever impatient when talking about their wishes,,,
i hope the devs see through this and just keep working on improving the great PVP rather than misinterpret the complaints as demoralizing “ur game sux”
if your game really did suck, then nobody would even be complaining, because we would just have stopped playing and moved on,,,
TLDR: ppl complain because there is so much obvious potential for it to be even better,,, just keep in mind guys that it takes work and time for the devs to implement things
Yes I enjoy the PVP in this game more than any other game,, that is saying a lot,, better than WoW certainly and i was a hardcore BG hero and arena player
the core IS sound in this game,,,the devs keep pushing it with balances and features and it will be better and better
the whining on forums also shows players care about this game,,, imagine if there was nobody saying anything at all that means ppl have abandoned ship

I can beat most players 1v1, but Frankly i know it’s a lopsided fight to fight bunkers 1v1 but I love the challenge even if I lose

i have two 4 (5 traited) cripples: axe 3 and sword 4 I think that is plenty of cripples and actually the most you can get out of a warrior for cripple
obviously you can have autoattack or another ability cancel the block and still give extra adrenaline when block is canceled
to have a 2nd key that cancels the block makes it extremely awkward to use especially in a fast spvp situation where you always end up accidentally canceling it
coming from SPVP:
Mace 2 and Sword 5 block abilities,,, accdentally hit key twice and cancel the block,,, remove the cancel effect please
Sword 3 Hamstring range needs to increase otherwise with latency this is incredibly difficult to land
Shield + pistol engineers
I can barely dent them and I am pretty good at not getting kited
They just backpedal and lay bombs and eventually kill me
My DPS is good axe horn and 2h sword and decent all around burst dps/defensive build
Try the LUMA sharpening I think it does leaps and bounds with improving the feel of the game i have mine set to full 3 because i enjoy the crisp detail
also DPX is great can increase the amount to get more color saturation
and lastly the gamma slider for midtones highlight shadows i only touch shadows and made all the shadows have a blue-ish color which is very pretty
how do you not see more scenery when you zoom out
if there is a tree at the corner of the my screen and i zoom in, the tree dissapears and then if i zoom out again the tree reappears in the corner of the screen
Obviously if people didnt have fun doing this they wouldn’t be in the guild
Keep in mind we ENJOY playing ingame police/detectives finding bots and reporting them
it’s like saying people who grind are “dumb because it’s not fun and feels like a 2nd job”

nope i wasn’t trolling, i had much to believe that zoom and fov were the same, but OK maybe you guys are right about the FOV being different than zoom, although I have my doubts and I am merely raising a proposition with my OP
but you have to admit zooming out DOES increase the amount of stuff you can see on your screen which accomplishes much of what FOV increase does as well

Just to point out, we can already zoom in and out which is the same as a FOV slider
Its just increasing maximum zoom out that is the request which the recent patch is testing
@the last two responses: obviously we wouldn’t just rely on whispers and would observe the players behavior over days weeks
on tarnished coast we have a team of 40man dedicated players growing bigger that go around snooping for bots and report them as a guild when we are sure they are bots
we dont just go for the obvious bots either we will monitor a player for weeks and spy on them its really fun like playing detective
And that is why a anti-bot guild is needed
we search the crevices and crannies in search of the less obvious bots, whisper them, then report them
What if each realm had a big group of people who made guilds specifically dedicated to raoming around the world as a big search group to find and report bots?
I think maybe this would be fun it would be like a police patrol looking for criminals
Imagine a big 50 group of people finding botts and cheaters sending multiple reports to get the attention of arenanet faster
your guild can also play detectives and hunt for people who are doing other malacious activities in game on your server

So I think if a thief goes whirling axe I’ll just use that as a chance to hundred blades him or eviscerate him since they do more damage than whirling axe and he has less armor than me
I hated this ability and was sad everytime a thief became invincible when he stole it from me

Right now with a range of 130 this ability is extremely frustrating to land. I suggest making it
around 200 range. It would improve the viability of 1h sword in pvp

After you have reached the highest rank in PVP and there is no more PVP armor to unlock, you can start earning more points toward the ability to unlock more and more PVE sets. It’s still ONLY FOR AESTHETICS no stats
But you still have to have earned those sets in PVE. Through PVP, you can unlock the ability to wear more and more PVE sets in PVP.
Maybe earn a token to apply to a PVE item to be able to wear it in PVP

i cant pinpoint when it happens but with the trait there are times my swap weapon cd is still 9 or 10 seconds when it should always be 4 or 5 in combat
