The only information related to group content I’ve seen so far is the Wyvern and Fractal Masteries.
The only info that we know regarding the Legendary crafting process so far is:
The methods by which you’ll craft these legendary weapons are similar to the existing system, but we’ve refined it into more of a journey, similar to precursor crafting.
Personally, I read that as the different gifts will be got at different stages in a way that fits them thematically, as opposed to now where you can work towards all gifts at any point.
That’s pure conjecture on my part, though.
Hmm, then I should go ahead and craft bolt then and wait for HoT to determine how they even go about making the new ones.
Problem isn’t the beta portals, it’s the RNG system. It’s a total mystery and many believe that it’s a broken and cheating system. Magic find is increasingly becoming more and more useless with more things bypassing it entirely. It’s long rumored as well that long running accounts have a lower chance to get item drops then new accounts.
There is something fishy with the loot drop RNG system if you ask me.
Do you have any evidence that the RNG is rigged besides “I didn’t get a portal, and that guy got 2! RAAAAGE QQ!!!!1!1!”?
There’s a lot of foil-hatting going on here, even for a videogame forum.
His post was entirely non-ragey. There was absolutely no QQ. There was a bit of tinfoil-hatting, sure, but you’re really exaggerating what he said.
And given that portal drops were confirmed to not account for Magic Find, there’s a slightly valid complaint: players who built up high levels of Magic Find are losing out on their benefits.
This is part of a long-term move from drops (which MF affects) to bags/chests (which MF does not, except SW loot chests), so it’s not exactly new.
I got a portal, I’m not complaining I’m just saying a lot of people aren’t entirely sure what Magic Find even does. There is a lot inaccuracies in statistics that doesn’t measure out about loot drops in the high end tier of items. With the way things are moving to with silverwastes and drytop being nearly entirely chest drops and bag drops as primary sources which magic find doesn’t effect. I think something needs to be said by Arena Net as to what is Magic Find, whats it’s for and how it effects everything and their plan for the future regarding it.
Need I remind you of upcoming ranged mortar option. Heal on bast finisher, with a super long range blast finisher on mortar for ranged support healing.

It’s expensive but not nearly as expensive as just making a new on, but allows you to change the stats if you really desired it.
Something like this for a Mystic Forge recipe would be fantastic. Wait, no, that could also ruin sigils/runes. Nope, I like your original idea better.
Only problem is I don’t think the games tech would support such an item. Maybe allow them to be infused and have selectable stats?
Oh I’m aware, I’m just wondering if it’s worth my time to farm instances now so I have 500 tokens from all of them just to be sure I can craft it once a good one comes out.
Many weapons just have ugly as home made sin legendaries, pistol shortbow mace scepter….all the underwater ones.
I really one some kitten looking pistol legendaries so I can make a kitten dual pistol thief that looks like a demonic cowboy. But nooooo….you have to give them literally the silliest looking pistols that can ever be created.

Having high in precision is really only taken by Mesmers, and thats for reflect damage, beyond that everyone else wears beserker with high in power. As you get plenty of precision with it being a lower stat of the three.
I whole heartedly agree that beserker is way too powerful, but nerfing the stats isn’t the way to fix it. It’s making it not the best EVERYWHERE would help fix it. Adding more high armor bosses in instances. Adding bosses that just take a long time and can’t be done faster so that conditions can make some good damage.
Is going to be new dungeons added with HoT that the new legendaries will require tokens from or are they going to use tokens from existing dungeons for the gifts? I’m trying to get ready for them, got my gift of mastery and fortune already. So I’ll need is Gift of the Blankity Blank.

I was a subscriber long before getting a portal, though I subscribed again after getting a portal for double measure.

I was thinking the same thing.
As I recall, the warning was implemented at player request. Players were accidentally salvaging items that they did not intend to salvage, just as back in the day (GW) you could sell valuable items with a single click. So the devs added a confirmation process to ensure that you do exactly what you intend to do.
I don’t recall seeing a warning for green items, but I don’t mind a bit getting the message in relation to golds. But then, I’m not massively wealthy, either.
I’ve done countless silverwastes in the past week, I got like 400 ecto’s from salvaging all the rares. I found the popup annoying, but it did help to discern which were of better use to use a higher salvage kit.
I farmed for a week in silverwastes with nothing. Decided to switch to Dry Top 40 mins after reset and got one within the first 5 mins.
How about a craftable item, few ecto’s a new insignia other items, and you can use it to reroll the stats on ascended gear.
Basically you craft a new item that is fairly cheap aside from the new insignia and it changes the stats to that new insignia.
Only concern I have for trait revamp is that it doesn’t really address anything of what mesmers have been asking for. Clones and phantoms still die way too quickly in pve and are extremely limited to one target. We have almost no AoE apart from clones, which after main mob dies they disappear. Our damage is outright horrid outside of reflects. Chromomancer doesn’t address any of these. If anything it makes it worse, more support more utility and no anything else. Oh well at least I’m wanted for utility.
I really hope I still get access to greatsword, f5 off a cliff then f5 right back up and greatsword 5 those poor saps off a cliff that wondering over.
They’re both Korean, and to Korean’s fashion in hair and outfits is a top level concern with MMO’s. Which is why they always have like half a million hair options and trendy looking outfits. Gotta look good.
You are an unlucky one. Every map I get on is a normal do the events, not seen a chests farm map in ages.
On my maps there are no chest farmers, but i also never see people doing events.
Only when the map is at 90%+ suddenly they all appear out of nowhere.Problem are not the chests but the whole shuttle mechanisms.
Yesterday was great, people helped out and stayed for 2 to 3+ vine wraths. Then today it went back to normal. Jump to a complete map, do breach and vine and leave.
I would think with people actually wanting to try to get a portal, they’d actually kill things and progress faster. But I guess I’m expecting too much from this community sometimes.
Can you do something to stop chest farming? It’s exploiting a map and annoying to those of us trying to actually do the map. They cause the difficulty to be bumped up to the point where those trying to do things like defend forts can’t do it because of all the players around that aren’t helping. It’s annoying and aggravating that between map jumpers that only stay on maps near completion and chest farmers it’s near impossible to do silverwastes in the way it was supposed to be done.
It’s exploiting the map and the people and I don’t think chest farming or taxi’ing should be allowed to still work. They need to be changed to discourage this unfriendly and harassing behavior.

ArenaNet is (again) having horrible communication. They told people how to get access to the beta, but they haven’t announced when will the beta be, or what kind of content it will have, or any other relevant information.
What if someone spends a lot of time grinding for access (because that’s effectively the only way to get access, by grinding), and the beta happens to be in a day in which said someone is busy? Whose fault do you think that would be?
ArenaNet should at least have told us when is the beta going to be, and what content it will feature. But no, they didn’t manage to do even that.
What part of closed do you not understand. Closed beta means they don’t talk about it, that you don’t get know ahead of time unless you’re in it.

And unless you are one of those people it’s none of your business, so you don’t need to know. They will be informing those that get in, when it is and what it’s about, because that is what closed means.
There may or may not be an NDA attached to the close beta, but most likely there won’t be. Closed beta just means invite only. It has nothing to do with the level of secrecy involved with that. NDA’s will determine, if applicable, what you can and cannot talk about in closed betas. To be honest NDA’s are kinda a dying trend in gaming. They used to be great for generating hype but now that the market is so flooded with new games companies are more compelled to talk about things.
Yeah, that wasn’t really my point. I don’t think there will be an NDA, not considering the amount of information they’re released themselves. Once they let you play the game at the cons they generally drop the NDA.
What I’m getting at is, since it’s invite only they’re not announcing a time. It isn’t like an open beta where anyone can come in so you need to know when it is. In a closed beta then invite you and only those who are invited get told when it is and what’s going on. Since, technically, no one has actually been invited yet, since the contest is still on, there has been no reason for them to provide that information to anyone.
They will announce a time when it starts. They announced the last one anyway. I think they’re holding off a testing weekend to see how this whole portal drop thing works.

It rewards people that actually play the game, instead of sending off invites to accounts that are either dead or played at launch for like 3 days and quit.
By your logic i should already have one considering the fact that i been playing on SW since last ls patch (97 coat box and counting). So far been farming 16h without luck and i start to doubt that i will ever get one.

The bulk of you still think that because I’ve been playing longer you feel like you’re entitled to something. Random is random, to everybody.
That said, the drop rate is really low on purpose. For Anet to base the long time appeal and vary the drop rate based on how many players they want in the beta. If they seen not enough people looted it, then they’ll increase the drop rate.
You have the false idea that the drop rate is a static drop rate, it’s not. It’s a dynamic drop rate.
Which has nothing to with being competive enough to test beta. Any fresh lv 80 random can hop in, kill one mob and get invited to beta, just like that.
Which is still better then inviting a random account that doesn’t even have an 80 and can’t even test anything. This isn’t a balance test, it’s a test to discover bugs in the new areas and such. Find spelling errors in quest text, because believe me beta testers are grammar kittens and will find spelling errors. Find out if dynamic events work, if there is any stray holes in the earth. Things like that, that don’t require too much competitive or competent thought behind.
The real only requirement is do you have an 80?

which is essentially what the RNG portal drop is answering. Beta isn’t a sneak peak headstart. It’s not a I get to play early club like most people think.
I crafted 7 daggers, first 4 attempts some random trash dagger. Used it and 3 more crafted pearl daggers got Spark. RNG is RNG, I literally didn’t spend anything and got spark on my second try.
I’ve also known people who wasted close to 3 to 5k on the mystic lottery over the years for nothing.

Ascended is really not that bad… I think the cost is appropriate for BiS gear. You can easily get enough money to do it by just playing the game for a while and accruing gold/mats. That’s what you’re supposed to do; it is a casual game, after all.
Oh I have enough gold to buy all the mats for all 3 tiers, it’s just an issue I really don’t see the reason as to why exactly. Sure it’s better, but not by much. As far as I can tell ascended is really only used for fractals because of an asinine agony damage system.
Yeah I mean, that’s fair. I did Fractals a lot, so I needed more ascended gear. But since I can foresee-ably afford to equip all my characters (that I use, anyway) with ascended, I might as well. Except my Ele, since I have yet to do any work in Tailor.
I don’t do instances, I can’t deal with the pug mentality. It wrecks my already low self esteem. I choose to do mostly solo activities. I should be finishing Bolt soon, and debating on just buying Bifrost.

This is NOT how it works though.
You can’t just put in time and get one. It’s too random. So someone who does it for 5 minutes and doesn’t play the game can most definitely have about the same chance of getting one.
Sure RNG is RNG, but even if it’s a player that only played in silverwastes for 5 mins it’s still a player that is 1) high enough level to be there 2) can navigate himself to even get there and 3) is competent enough to kill something
All 3 of those factor’s can’t be determined by an email mailing list. I think it’s a brilliant way of ensuring you get competent players into the test.

Granted I agree that ascended gear cost way too kitten much money for a single set of gear with single stats. My mesmer has 3 sets of gear and my guardian like 4. The only real use to ascended gear is getting a “meta” build zerker set for instances but I really couldn’t give a toss about instances. If silk wasn’t so kitten much money I might actually care about making it.

Umm, the builds you used before will use the same gear now. Thats not getting changed.
Now new builds will use new gear stats but that hasn’t changed since the dawn of the game.
If your build and gear isn’t considered “meta” when the patch hits then thats your fault for following meta and not just playing a spec and gear you enjoy.

Oh, good, so I’m not the only one who finds its layout utterly arbitrary and difficult to get around. It’s a shame that I feel compelled to con my guildies into going in order for me to care about that misshapen mess at all.
After seeing the very poor and confusing design of silverwastes and drytop, I’m honestly afraid for HoT. I have a very firm feeling it’s going to equally as confusing and take me like 3 months to figure out how to get around. Hell I still haven’t figured out how to get to part of silverwastes.

They seem to be spreading out traps and shouts to make those Runes more useable. I think Thief will get the trap build to be honest, I think they’re getting a sniper like specialization and will put heavy use of preparing for fights in advance.
Chronomancer’s I honestly haven’t a clue how it’s going to work. we’ll know how they work this week when they announce the first.
Yeah 500g is max to get a week. Though you can also convert to gems and send them a gift from the gem store.
It only feels solo friendly cause maps are near empty most of the time. Most maps past the starter zone racial maps are less and less populated.
I’d love to see the map generating server favor larger population sizes.

Support guard isn’t dead, it’s actually getting massive buffs to it. You just have to choose what kind of support you want to be. That’s the intention, pick what you want most. You can’t have it all.
You can be a very very viable symbol guardian, or a viable staff boon aegis guardian. It’s all possible.
I really don’t think you understand the trait system at all.
I’d like to see the circle fade more towards the end of the circle. So it starts off bright white and slowly fades to grey. The more points you put in the brighter the rest of the circle gets. Just to make it clear where it starts.
The only people I know who are swimming in Obsidian shards are people that make silverwaste kittenty. The shovel group farmers and map taxi’ers that jump from map to map looking for one at or near the end instead of actually helping a map out.
They said specializations change the profession skills, so somebody is getting an f5 profession skill. Most likely ranger since they already have 4 and it was confirmed pets aren’t going away.
Really those collections are for rich completetionists. It’s not worth the hassle of wasting your money or gold on completing them. Get the ones you like and move on.
Yeah NPE was possibly the worst thing about the game now. Literally everything about it apart from getting rewards to level is counter productive.
The new trait system is absolutely terrible beyond a doubt. It makes classes harder to level and leveling more boring and sucky because you have to wait a ridiculously long time to get traits that are core to a class to even function.
They’re interesting when the zones are full and lively. Honestly the servers keep the zones pretty kitten empty. For merging all the servers together I’d like to see bigger more occupied zones. When I did world completion awhile ago most maps are dead.
I was wondering myself. When did healing get nerfed? If nothing else, I’d love to see a huge BOOST to healing and regeneration. It’s quite lacking right now compared to burst damage builds.
Healing never got nerfed, as far as I know that poison aspect was in since the beginning. If it was added later I don’t remember. Though the benefit of healing bonus is very very small. So small it makes it useless in pvp, as you’re giving up offense stats. You can just use say a celestial Elementalist and they have great healing capabilities and great defense and great offense. Gee I wonder why you see a royal ton of celestial ele’s out there, maybe because they provide best of all worlds really.
That said, meta is bullkitten. It’s not a thing and it doesn’t revolve around the current most powerful. Meta is just the most popular. Boon stripping and condi cleanse are extremely powerful in spvp right now, as power condi builds are seeing a large revival to counter celestial engi’s and eles.
Threat is based on damage, higher damage higher threat. There is no threat modifiers at all in the game. It’s nearly entirely based on who gets the largest chunk of damage out in the beginning and keeps it. Until Heart of Thorns adds Taunt, there is no tank skills in the game at all and nothing to even hold threat or anything.

Heart of thorns is adding taunt? That would be AMAZING!!!!
Taunt just forces the enemy to target the user for a set amount of time. After that it goes back to normal. There still isn’t a tank as there is no threat mechanics in the game. Just a taunt which is itself a crowd control with extra flavor.

Spvp is a total waste of time. Why do you think vast majority of the entire game avoids it? Have you ever done unranked lately? It has such a massive crapshoot of a rating system because there just isn’t anyone that does it. Nobody does it cause balance is a total kittening crapshoot. If they increased all spvp to 8v8 then it may bring some life into team builds and not be the same old meta crap.
This again, I’ve seen this argument for bringing this armor set back countless times. It looks literally exactly the same as like half a dozen other medium armor sets.
Medium armor is the most overused and none unique of the three armor tiers. It’s all trenchcoats/dusters and a wide brimmed hat or a bandit mask. Like half of the kitten sets in the game are a very slight change to that set already.
We don’t need more of the same medium crap in the game. We need more variety not more of the same.
I admit I’m not a fan of the lack of options on weapons but I really don’t experiment with weapons and use the same ones so it doesn’t bother me too much. I really am not a fan of backpacks or back skins at all. The hobo sack is massive and just doesn’t fit into what I want my character to be. It ruins my character entirely and is just a visual nightmare to me. I hate it, and would pay money to get rid of it.
Is there a way to disable the stupid ugly hobo sack when using engineer kits? It’s literally the main reason I don’t and can’t play an engineer. I hate that stupid backpack. Is there a way to disable that? Or can we get a way to disable that?
