Both Tera and Aion are Korean MMO’s. Koreans care about fashion and aesthetics literally more then the game itself.

Combine really fashionable character models and hair styles with really fashionable clothing add in some super insanely grindy game design and you got yourself a hit korean MMO.

First I’m going to assume you meant Precision.

Now the only time I can see this being used is soloing, if you want more health.

Otherwise you’d use Beserkers, or in the case of Teq where you can’t crit against him anything else like Soldiers that doesn’t have precision or ferocity.

on launch but keys and chests were extremely common drops in the world. In one sitting i’d usually get one or the other or both.

They only became rare when they added things like, the hair contracts backpack items, and skin tickets. Before nothing really could be sold besides armor dye so the chests were common to obtain and easy to get keys.

I don’t like how it is now, they made them harder because of the rare valuable items but didn’t adjust the other contents to not be meaningless dribble items.

I personally haven’t seen a drop in the drop rate of keys.

Keys, short of the few guaranteed spots you get keys, are part of the loot table. And as such, subject to RNG. Which has a tendency to show streaks in the short term. Unless you tracked upwards of a hundred thousand drops, accounting for any boosters you may have to magic find where appropriate, there’s no way to really know if the drop rate has gone up or down since launch.

There is in knowing I haven’t seen but like 2 drop total since NPE when I came back to the game. I know they went down, I didn’t have magic find at launch that I did now and I got way more then I do now with my 100% magic find, which is a total bullkitten stat btw.

Basically the highest valued thing from the chests is a Contract for a hair stylist. It’s valued at give or take around 1400g. It’s only obtained from the chests and nowhere else.

Other then that, tickets and scraps are the only things to generate money.

Well I am done giving my opinion about balances. ANET created this support unbalanced years ago. Like the symbol of swift nerf which made us the group swiftness (bleep) and just slower when running solo. They have utterly failed at balancing the offensive lack that guardians experience but hey we never have been the killers and I accept that…seriously someone in here wrote that ANET has been trying to resolve our offense…with what spirit weapons OMG lol lol lol yeah I would be better with a level 1 grey greatsword/butterknife skill or better yet increase burning of 1 second cause that will make a difference in WvW with all the extra fire and/or condition removal. I could waste a lot more time on this but I already wasted enough. I will continue to be the (bleep) and say THANK YOU ANET!!!

The main problem with guardians is also the main issue with necros. The basic fact is, the condition system blows chunks and needs to over overhauled completely.

Having one burn per target is what kills guardians damage. There is no stacking of burns just stacking duration, which hur dur doesn’t help when they die in like 15 secs. They appear to be changing how conditions work but if you have a reliable way to generate condi immunity (whatever its name was) then that pretty much negates the entirety of the guardian class as the bulk of their damage revolves around a not so well thought out burn mechanic.

I’m still hoping the guardian specialization is something that focuses on pure offense and actually can kick some kitten .

Man you got me hoping burn stacks in intensity now instead of cover condis I was already hoping condi for LB with hexes like an improved version of GS #5. Need more info tough.

Have you guys not seen medi-guards in spvp? …

Medi guards also give up literally all of what make guardians desired for the sake of damage that is lower then warriors, thieves, elementalists, engineers……..They’re strong for guardians but they’re not strong in itself. They’re really easy to country and very predictable as they give up literally all of a guardians defense.

Yeah they need to do overhaul to the condition system, it is one of the reasons that zerker is so meta. Plus to condition damage is such a worthless stat for nearly everyone and plus to healing is taken by literally nobody. They need to sort out the systems to make it so people don’t go and stack power and zerker builds.

I won’t be sure until I see how it will be implemented in full, but so far i like it.
Like xyonon said, it offers more counterplay by having stacks instead of flat out immunity to cc, and more counterplay is always a good thing.

That is true and would be great if they totally balanced things out.

Guardians have the lowest health pool in the game, and some of the lowest base damage because of all the defense they get. One of the strongest aspects of that defense is stability which they have in massive amounts. Nerfing stability nerfs a large portion, if not only portion, guardians are taken to anything competitive in pvp. Nerf that without buffing other aspects of guardians makes them a worthless class to have as a whole.

If things get balanced right then it can be a very good thing. Currently guardians are too strong in global support due to many Stability group generators. Which make them a must have for groups. Limiting the potential of stability and spreading it out can help lower them in terms of support which can bring them up in offense, as they are very very very struggling in offense department and ANET seems to be trying to bring that up front for them.

I think stability is really really strong. Though the changes will undermine a lot of the strength of guardian skills and make them well nearly worthless. I really hope they go through and adjust some of them for potency. Stand your ground sounds like it’s getting a major neutering.

Though it begs to question, new stability does the stack get removed and clear you from a current CC? Like Teq tidal wave, if you’re currently knocked down and use stand your ground does it still consume and work? Currently it acts as a stun break because it provides immunity.

Totally broken, A for effort though.

Player hides inside enemy keep > pops commander tag > entire zerg insta ports to him for a free cap.

Limit each team to 4 commanders, once activated they are unable to be unactivated unless you leave the map entirely.

Commanders are visible to everyone, dorito is seen to all players but only appear on minimap to allies.

Make commanders similar in loot drop to siege lords so there is hefty incentive and desire to kill them.

They now become the single source of battlefield movement and the single highest valued target to everyone else. Just like any form of military transit.

One of the single most annoying aspects of the game is first time travel. Going around and discovering the entire kittening world is a huge major gigantic pain in the behind. So what they put in something that can be used to make it less of a pain.

There is entire zones I’ve never set foot in and world bosses I’ve never done because I have not a kitten thing discovered on that entire side of the world.

Can we get a teleport to commander?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

This would be an extremely broken mechanic.

Anything that makes WvW easier to go into. Group based pvp with no way to rejoin your group is a major gigantic pain in the kitten . There is many times when I join an edge of the mists see the commander on the other side of the map and decide it’s not worth trying to get there. Leave and try again in 5 to 10 mins.

There needs to be some kind of way to get around the map. A teleport stone on key places, something. Anything so that when I join I can get to where the group is in some reasonable amount of time.

I’m getting kind of fed up joining a WvW or an Edge of the mists and the commander is on the complete other side of the map without any way to get over there. You run halfway there encounter a zerg and die and have to start over. Can we get some better movement abilities?

This has little to no effect on pve side of things, most people have the waypoints near things anyway but those that don’t have no real way to get to things like boss encounters.

So can we get a teleport to commander if on the same map?

I thought necro had very high single target dps. It was there lack of group support that made them not desired in group play.

They’re low in damage as the basis of their class relies on Conditions which are sub optimal to power based builds. There is a lot of issues with condi based builds just not being as good at all. They’re not useless don’t get me wrong just not as high as power builds with zerker gear.

What I’m saying is there is no viable reason to get upset at specializations. Considering we know literally next to nothing about them.

We do know, that it’s not a permanent thing. If you hate the idea of druids, fine don’t be one stay a ranger. Fine with me. There will be times that a druid will be awesome and times when it won’t. It may appeal to some it may not others. It’s something different and new which is really needed.

They mentioned they change the profession skills all together. For engi’s we may see a removal of kits or turrets to get something else, like those floaty orby things. Mesmers may lose shatters to gain a new mechanic.

“I play how I want…”

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: heartless.6803

heartless.6803

The problem isn’t the casuals playing how they want. The problem is the upper try hards who get annoyed at casuals. They’re always the problem in every mmo. The elitist try hards get annoyed that everyone else isn’t following the max dps build variation and because of that they’re seen as inferior.

There is a small handfull of time gated events, and for the most part you can do the entire game in whatever gear you have.

Now builds are indeed extremely problematic right now. There isn’t enough ingame support that teaches how builds work and how to come up with better ones. The whole trait unlocking thing means new players just use whatever ones they have unlocked rather then ones they should be using. It’s an absolute mess and needs re-evaluating.

Why cant we have difficult content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: heartless.6803

heartless.6803

The problem with wildstar’s endgame content was that it was too hard. Unnecessary challenging content isn’t fun for the general crowd. There is a very very small fraction of players that enjoy it, but reality is that faction isn’t large enough to pay overhead cost of the game.

Alternative end game is the best course of action for an MMO. Having multiple paths of accomplishment is good for the general health and well being of a game. Fractals being one of the best examples of this. Scale-able content that offers diversity in challenge while not ending up a necessity. Because reality is, if fractals 50 offered the same look as fractals 1 the only people doing fractals 50 is that very very small percentage of people that like challenge. Most wouldn’t do it, because it’s not fun to most people.

Why cant we have difficult content?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: heartless.6803

heartless.6803

The issue with harder content, like 40+ fractals, is that it requires substantial gear for it. The issue with content requiring said gear is that the gear itself is a massive long grind. Majority of the game has a horizontal gear progression with a steep incline at the high end. Going from exotics to ascended is a massive grind. Legendary weapons take a lot of time and effort.

Which is why you don’t see a whole lot of it. To be honest I’m hugely glad they don’t. It puts less focus on raiding, and other content as the “thing” to do.

Actually Asura more resemble creatures like Skritt or dredge. Both having a somewhat gender ambiguous look. Not biologically accurate but whatever it’s a game.

The entire game economy is based around legendary weapons. Gold farming methods, crafting profession choices, instance clear speeds all revolve around getting precursors or crafting legendary weapons.

Basically the only way to make any decent amount of money is the following options:

1) Flipping seasonal items in off season
2) Playing the TP
3) getting lucky and getting a precursor.

Beyond those three methods, there isn’t a single reliable way to generate decent income. I’m saving for a commander tag, and it’s going pretty hard so far. But I also don’t do a lot of pve, so it’s slower for me then normal. Just wish there was a better way to get the greatsword precursors. The cost is what drove me away from even attempting to craft one. Why work all the way and be held back by a 1400 g item? It’s better to not even bother trying until I maybe, most likely not, get lucky and get one myself.
