well you can sort of tank, with endure pain shield stance, and a number of cc’s I can keep mobs busy on my warrior for quite a while. may not be a tank in the traditional sense where you sit and eat all the damage but its more about absorbing the big hits and protecting the squishys

mm might have to give the horn a go, could be interesting, although shield will stay in my build somewhere I think.

If someone is playing well with the party in a pug situation, I am not going to be a kitten and complain about how they should respec to the “proper” build instead. I find people with the “lol u’re playing X build” attitude in a pug situation in MMOs to be incredibly obnoxious. If you want to go heavily into damage, and are managing to do a great job of it, go for it, I’m happy to compensate and cover some of the party support or control if needed. If you’re dying all the time and are a liability, we’ll have to talk though.

Sure if they are playing smart and not getting killed its alright, but I mean its not even the build (I assume you mean traits) that I want to see them change, even one or two signets out to something that can help the group, would make a world of difference

I guess I can see where you are coming from Naraldeth and its awesome if you have a decent group you run with who you know can handle support, but my main problem is going to a pug seeing 2 or 3 other warriors who are all 5 signet GS warriors. so it means everyone else has to cover for them.

In most cases I would just be happy if they all switched one out and used FGJ would be a hell of a lot better for the group.

Hardly shields are amazing I can count the amount of times I have survived due to my shield, see the boss charging for a big attack, screw dodging, shield up, block the attack, then continue the beat down.

I would love an oceanic server but to be honest it doesn’t bother me atm sometimes i’ll get a bit of lag but its not enough for it to annoy me.

Shame on those pvpers doing pvp in a pvp zone, how could they do such a thing.

that puzzle gives you siege blueprints its such a huge help to the group if you cant afford them to get them from there.

Gold wise i have found i make quite a lot just running dungeons, usually around 40ish silver per run.

Gearwise I have found the best/easiest way to gear up is through crafting, I have almost completed my exotic set, you even get to choose the stats you want.

So wait a minute, you are complaining about server transfers costing money because of something that could happen in the future that hasn’t even been talked about by Anet as far as I know?

it costs gems so you can buy it using gold?

If anything they will probably allow for free transfers if they ever do something like that.

Never once had the sorts of problems you talk about in dungeons even in pugs, what sort of group makeup are you using, and what level are you attempting these at?

the boss has a buff that usualy blocks around 3-5 stuns/knockdowns before you can stun them, cant remember what its called at the moment but yeah almost all bosses have it.

Never been two hit maybe you just need to build more vitality/toughness

I’ve been able to dodge or get out of any boss aoe big damage moves relatively easy say one dodge back or sideways.

I find bosses seem to prefer attacking people in melee, but maybe thats just my experience.

GY zerging bosses does feel kind of cheap and it annoys me as well.

the last point about static mobs, i figure you are talking about burrows and stuff like that yeah, there does seem to be a problem with these, most likely a bug.

I think this all comes from the days in wow with DBM making a huge thing saying its time to pop your defensive cds now or you are gonna die, its made people not actually pay attention to the boss, so far every boss I have encountered who had a huge damage move has had some tells at least 2-3 seconds before it happens which gives you ample time to get outa the way.

and I play with around 250-300 ping most days so yeah, the time between the boss emote and skill is more than enough.

What are you looking for, do you want the gear you can buy in WvW for tokens or gear that you can use for WvW.

for either its all up to playstyle.

Dps builds can be useful yeah only as long as the rest of the group has enough cc stuff, they way I look at it though is the more control you have the easier the fight is going to be, might take a little longer but meh its much safer.

Tactics is probably my favorite trait tree for warriors, healing from shouts is just awesome, especially with shorter cooldowns.

I know its not everyone, but just from my experience I have only me one maybe two other warriors who didn’t just use a Pure dps build.

mm I do find it annoying that when running back you need to clear them again, it would make more sense that as you clear a boss all flowers that you have passed are now permanently destroyed.

Meh I can complete that dungeon pretty easy (AC) did path 2 and 3 last night with no problems whatsoever so I think you just need to get better, there are tells before these attacks and ways to avoid them you just aren’t looking.

on top of this I still at a minimum make around 40s per dungeon run I do even after repair bills,

mmm, good to see another sane GS warrior, I am currently using knight crafted gear, power precision toughness, that works quite well.

mm I haven’t noticed this personally since I don’t really use Banners but from what I have seen yeah the range is quite limited at least from using the elite banner, I’ll have a look when I get on tonight and try and see what the range is like. Seems like for them to be the most effective you need to either throw it down in melee range for the melee guys or put it out where the ranged guys are standing depending on group makeup and trying to get everyone to stay in range.

As for the stealth stacking Duration thing I cant see it being a banable offense but thats just personal opinion, If anything they will just nerf it it becomes a big problem.

Haven’t seen it talked about by Anet anywhere though so you never know.

That would be awesome Dread and I do hope it is on the books for a future update.

but until then you don’t even need to retrait, just changing up your utility slots can do a world of difference, aoe cleanses, fears and boons can help out a lot more than just a flat out dps build.

I prefer it when we are losing to be honest, I love going in and taking supply bases, assaulting Dolyaks, especially knowing you are one step ahead of the zerg and if you make one mistake you are toast.

this is only really effective if you have a bit of a zerg of your own though willing to assault towers/keeps while you keep them busy.

mm my dungeon build is sword/shield, but I play tanky whereas it seems you play as a more dps oriented build, have you tried using endure pain with frenzy?

Hammer seems to work well for big groups of enemies due to its adrenalin consumer being a aoe stun,

I like maces on single targets, with shields you have 3 different stuns, one being your consumer,

If you like being in close with axes, you could try changing your gear up for something with toughness/vitality.

I think these are awesome ideas, as to how you would get a mesmer into a keep, thats another story, don’ think they would be considered exploits though

Still a trinity of sorts, Tanky/support, healing/support and glass cannon

As a warrior who uses mainly shouts, I would love to see a shout elite, but untill then I will stick to my signet for solo and Banner for groups.

Well never had that happen, but I don’t talk too much other than asking at the start of the instance if they are gonna change their utilities from solo to dungeoning ones.

yep, thats the sort of build I love seeing, but sadly warriors who use it seem to be few and far between

I found if those pieces are too expensive Karma wise a good combination of Valkyrie and Knight gear from crafting is awesome.

yes change the signet build its got no group utility, I personally use a supoort tanking/shout build, I’ll update a bit later with my actual trait build if you like but its 30 points in both the toughness and Vit traits and 10 in the Power one, and soldier runes.

I currently run with a shield/sword as my main weapons and secondary weapons I use almost everything, don’t have a longbow and GS atm but I do have everything else.

but yeah as Menaka said, go have a look at traits and stuff in the mists.

I would love to see this even if it was just skins for a hammer, skills would somewhat make sense but that wouldn’t matter to me, would look so dam cool on the my Norn.

Currently I run a Sword/shield in my main equips and switch up secondary gear with Hammer, rifle, Mace/Horn, and I play a tanky support, kind of a first one in last one out style where I just do all I can to soak up damage and keep people alive.

But After running lots of dungeons and only ever seeing warriors who run GS signet builds it makes me want to slap each and every one of them and tell them that they are doing nothing for the group.

Sure its a awesome dps build but dam, switch in some shouts or banners please and do something other that hitting the enemy to help your group.

Only once have I run into a GS warrior that had a focus on shout utilities and it worked great, still high damage plus they helped heal the group and cleanse, through soldier runes and traits.

Well rant over I guess, let me know how you feel about it, if you are a GS/signet warrior maybe try and enlighten me as to why you go with this build rather having any support.

Pretty much exclusively use Signet of Rage, but sometimes banner when i notice my group is getting owned in dungeons that rez can help a tonne, when there is little to no time to stop and rez.

For great justice is just from one of the Warrior buffs, its about every 30 seconds.

Well just find something with the offensive stat you want then use it.

mm I would be happy with Party only or Self only, its annoying when it gets taken and people run off with it, or when I want to pick it up and I gets taken.

I can definitely agree that you start becoming less and less Norn like after you choose a faction to join, I think the way your character acts should be somewhat changed by your personality and Race.

well thats a bit silly, its the perfect place for it to get reflected.

I can stay in for around for more towards 10 seconds before its desperate that i need to get out, so after all my defensive stuff I start handing out stuns and disabling the enemy.

When I get too low I just dodge out and get behind my group to regen/heal and wait for cds, then charge straight back in and deal out some more stuns, if i have my rifle equipped i usually switch to that while regening so I’m not standing around doing nothing.

My warrior is Tanky as all hell and block combined with endure pain gives me the ability to charge into a group of enemies and eat the initial barrage of skills/attacks with taking no damage.

Currently I build power/precision/toughness gear so I’m quite tanky in general, this combined with the blocks available and endure pain I can pretty much survive anything thrown at me.

Say for example there are a group of hammer mobs, who all seem to initiate by a charge and knockdown, I run in and eat the initial 3 charges with endure pain, break the knockdown and hit block. my 4 other group members now have around 5 or so seconds seconds to smash these guys while they are focused on me.

I think the problem is knowing when to pull back and regen, sure you have to do it a bit more if endure pain is on CD but its not hard to do.

As for the elites go yeah signet and banner are much better than Jug for all the reasons you mentioned, I predominately use banner since the aoe rally is great.

yes but as a great sword user you are useless when it comes to any form of support for your group.

I like both the crafted knight(power/precision/toughness) or Valkyrie(Power/crit dmg/Vitality) sets since it adds a bit of survivability and some attack damage, using a combination of both for my Warrior, still tossing up what rune I want to use though, will either be Soldier or Dolyak.

if you combine it with a few traits you can rally while in vengeance which is really helpful since its a hell of a lot easier to kill stuff when you aren’t sitting down on the floor

I think it would definitely help, but I think a lot of the problems come from getting overwhelmed with animations from other classes and not being able to see whats happening with the boss and what and when you need to dodge.

All upgrades and Influence gain are tied to the server, so its not lost you just cant access it from your new server. So if you change servers you have to start fresh, influence and upgrade wise that is

I used hammer/mace shield combo from as soon as I got the weapons so something like level 15, I love it so much knockdown and disables, means I can control fights a lot easier

I think this is a great idea, the banners can supply some pretty good party buffs so it would be nice to have some more abilities with them.

as the start of your post, its nice that you can get max level gear relatively easy and the focus is on getting a set of gear you like to look at rather than having the treadmill grind.

mm only place I have noticed where it seems to matter is where you fight the Jotun, I assume you can get a blessing from your Chosen spirit when doing that part of the personal story.

However I have only done wolf so far so no idea if it changes
