Actually, i just realized why they cant make it so that the wings and glider combo have a dye channel, its because in order to have a dye channel the back piece should also be able to be dyed and since you cant dye the wings as a back piece, you cant dye the glider skin either. So they can implement a wyvern glider skin with a dye channel but not if you also want to have them as wings, unless they are willing to allow certain back pieces to be dye just like some gliders can and others cant.
Not really, for the glider dye’s they just have to set the backup to ‘dye remover’ on the dye channels. I bet the code base for it is already there just disabled from the UI so the players cant edit it.
But i think its time we get dyable backpacks and weapons…..

Well a better game means more people who will buy the game or stay with the game to buy expansions. Also the content we got for the price of the expansion was quite scarce. Comparing it to the core game that is. So the demands I’m asking aren’t too out of place if you take that into consideration.
They are out of place when you, and other people of your same train of thought, finally understand that Anet’s stated multiple times that all future LS releases, and expanded content will be locked behind HoT. If you dont get what that means, it means that ALL CONTENT from the drop of HoT to the release of the NEXT expansion, you bought for however much you paid for HoT.
and some of the stuff we used to have before HoT too.
True! But how long has it been since HoT launched? It’s getting close to 4 months now. Where is the second set of legendaries? Where is the next raid wing? Where is any new content at all? What are they waiting for? More Gem Store money? Meanwhile all they’ve been putting out is Gem Store items.
all of your questions have one simple answer there, they need time. To build on what they have as a frame work takes time. And as they release new parts to HoT content they want it to be harder, more in line, with their new direction.
But lets not sway here, the discussion is the lack of in game content compared to what is on the gem store these last 4 months.
Yes that’s what it is. They need time, a lot of time. And I think that IS one of the core problems of most complaints they will get from unsatisfied veterans.
I have been playing this game since launch. I dont mind waiting for rich content to be dropped in. Hell we waited for 8 months with out a GOOD content release from the announcement of HoT (Jan3Rd of last year) until its release for that rich content.
In between they did fillers, Gem store Skins/items, recycled holidays…ect.
HoT is released, they dribble out the content..first raid AFTER HoT’s release, first wave of new Legendaries….ect. with filler of Gem store items.
What I am not happy about is the gem store getting more updates then the content that we paid for. HoT is static, the zones are what they are. No LS release has happened yet (by now I would have expected the first chapter), and we just had a QoL release on the 26th (more Fluff and Nerfs). Where is the real content at?
I don’t mind giving them time, But I do mind them filling their precious time/resources with fluff when what was promised has still yet to be delivered.
and that is why I hate the gem store. Anet has made their money from HoT, they continue to make it with new sales. But all we have been getting is fluff. Its time they deliver.
and dont get me started on WvW…

ive decided, unless this shared slot goes from 1 slot to 5 per puchase I am not buying it.
a single slot (or a max of 5 really) does not fit MY needs.
and I am voting with my Gold/CC by not buying it.
If they were to make each of the 5 ticks for the slot to unlock a row of 5 slots, I would buy all 20 right now.
That is where I stand.

im less concerned with whats good/bad looking then I am with the content being released. I look at it as numbers, as thats all Anet really cares about anyway.
Each season release since HoT has had a deluxe holiday Gem kit that included a skin for the glider, an outfit and some other garbage I couldnt care less about. And what did the players get in the game off the gem store? Recycled content with a hidden Gold sink to unlock a skinless shoulder effect.
sorry, but that doesn’t float well with me.
and here we are again, same kitten different day.

The misc weapons are worth mentioning because some of them are sublime
-snip-Some of those listed are super rare drops that you basically have to pay hundreds of gold on the TP to obtain.
That’s a separate issue though. They are obtainable without gold and without use of the gemstore, which is the topic of discussion here. I don’t disagree that they are perhaps too rare, but the point stands they exist in game through content.
It’s not entirely a separate issue. Super rare drops are not something that can be worked towards. Those luxury items/skins likely present a tasty piece of whale bait, and Anet isn’t going to complain if a whale or two wants to go $$ to gems to gold to purchase them. The OP was referring to a system of how armor was delivered previously in the game: dungeon armor, wvw armor, skins from story achieves, etc. These in game means of obtaining skins once existed side-by-side with gemstore skins. As the game has matured, in the gemstore route has been far more favoured over in-game means.
and most justify it with the Gold to Gem conversion.
But has anyone really looked at the Gold to gem conversion rates as of late? If Anet keeps with the current trend, its going to get worse.
gotta remember, there is no gear treadmill in this game its all purely cosmetics. in the past you had varying cosmetics between the gem store and the in game content. But now? Its primarily just the gem store.
Even after we all just invested 50+ into the game via HoT, it just feels they want to gouge us for more.

Healing power with no offensive stats goes against everything GW2 is about.
Even in the newest patch they are very clear about what you need to do at a bare min.
Damage your target, boss mob,…ect and then you can roll out as a support role. But they still require some level of damage to get credit. Running only healing power, Vit, Toughness completely goes against that.
What i would LOVE to see is;
Power/condi
Healing power
Precision
Vitality/toughness
set.

My feedback is about how feedback actually works.
It’s great you guys ask for feedback. I really do appreciate that. However if you hang out in the forums long enough you start to feel that the feedback isn’t going anywhere. This needs to be more of an ongoing and reciprocal conversation. Out of our feedback I would expect a post addressed to the player base saying " We heard you on the following points, we will be looking into them as resources allow. [followed by a list of points]." Then perhaps later or with the same post: “Points 3,7,12, and 15 are going to be a higher priority for us. Points 5,8, and 9 may not be something that is possible. Again this information is tentative and subject to change.”
I understand the player base takes things literally so you have to be carful what you say. But it feels like we have all these threads about good feedback and very little comes out of them. I’m not sure what this disconnect is but it has become apparent to anyone that frequents the forums.
If you read this I genuinely thank you for your time and thank you for making a great game. I hope we can work together to keep it that way.
I understand your thoughts, and perhaps we will be able to do that for some topics in the future; I agree it would be great! But what’s important to note is that we all — as forum members — have a certain level of visibility into our how feedback is handled simply by our participation here on the forums and our involvement in the game.
Here’s what I mean: I’ve seen the request for “gliding in central Tyria” hundreds of times on the forums. I’ve heard it in the game a hundred times, too! So when I see it come to the game, as a player and a forum member I know that ArenaNet listened to player/forum member feedback. I don’t need someone to come and tell me that, I can actually see it in the update notes and in the game.
So while I’m not discounting — believe me, I would be absolutely the last person to discount the potential or the value of further communication; trust me on that!
— I like to think of an old expression that my granny said, “The proof is in the pudding.” In this case, take that odd expression to mean that we, as players and forum members, can see through actual game development that the feedback that we give is being read, reviewed, analyzed, and often implemented!
Again I do love communication, and I positively adore when devs post, or when they ask me to post on their or their team’s behalf. But I’m also aware that communication comes through many forms, including that demonstration through actual game changes. And because of that, I like the idea of productive threads like this, which you should know will be shared with every single member of the ArenaNet team as highly-suggested reading.
Anyway, I hope that makes sense. It’s just a personal opinion, but I like to think it has a certain logic.
I agree with his post. The main reason there’s so much angst on the forums is not so much that Anet doesn’t communicate enough, it’s that Anet doesn’t interact enough. Giant blogposts and requests for feedback do not carry the same weight that just being active on the forums and responding to peoples’ questions, thoughts, and concerns does. Half the time nobody understands the rationale behind balance changes that are made because the game designers in charge of profession balance are never on the class boards discussing them with people the way they should be.
I’m not sure why that message seems to be so lost in Anet’s culture.
anet seems to operate in a push mode only, they develop stuff, usually in secret and then push it to us. Same with information, very little of that is open directly to discussion.
It really is something like the Monty Python spam sketch, no matter what you ask for you get more spam. That might be OK in PvE but is still bad even there.
It is especially true in WvW. When the Golem Rush week happened they could have listened and stopped it dead, they didn’t. Since the new WvW maps have come out there has been very little if any response from anet to issues.
So people are very pessimistic about anet and it’s listening capability.
Mostly what I have noticed in HoT is that most classes, if built and used correctly, are massively OP. My ranger, a design I produced for camp capping in WvW is one of those. I can take on a group of Mordrem without any real problem. I beat Potoni the Massive, a champion, fairly easily last night. OK, the ele who arrived during the fight died fairly quickly but they went right up against the champ and just stood there.
Considering that ele, raids are too tough for that kind of person. They were built for the elite players and maxed out builds – not the average player. anet needs to take both into account when designing raid instances, perhaps by putting in a ‘challenge mote’ for elites and a lesser option for everyone else. A couple of minutes longer and making those green circles always appear in a clear zone would be a great help, preferably not spawning just before a zone transition.
Really that is the failure of the first raid wing, against the plan to destroy the DPS meta, they have just reinforced it. Everything is more DPS, more condi damage, more dps. With that time limit a team with more defense simply can’t make it. Personally there is very little reason to have the time limit at all.
If I find this very difficult to impossible you can guarantee most of the other players do too.
While you are at it check out the adventures, some of them are a bit too tough and losing access from them just because night comes or the Chak Gherent appears or the dev’s granny’s washing is stuck in the machine is silly.
This guy really gets it.

Gemstore is what you get when your game is FREE TO PLAY instead of having a subscription fee of $20 a month. deal with it
It’s not free to play. Free to play would be no initial costs. My “initial” costs are 100 euros at the moment. Does that sound like “free” to you?
methinks your english grasp is not so good. its a godkitten free to play game. its free to play. playing it requires no ongoing money, unlike, say, world of warcraft. gw2 is free to play. would you like the game to be free to buy as well, and then have mandatory ads ingame and lock exotic and higher armor and weapons behind the gemstore? because anet could do that, you know. they have to make money somehow and since the kittening game is free to kittening play, and they are NOT getting billions of dollars a month in subscription fees, gemstore is how they do that. the only thing locked behind real money purchases is cosmetic items, there is nothing, literally nothing, that is required for actual gameplay or to become a harder hitting character that you cannot get for free ingame. everything gemstore is pretty kitten to make your character look a certain way, and its completely unneeded to be a good player, so i dont know what the hell your issue is, or anyone else who complains about cosmetic and arbitrary things costing money.
The game does have a free2play mode, but to gain most of the benefits to the game you need to buy a copy. And while there is no monthly subscription, this game IS buy2play.
And if you want to do some math and say Anet is going to release a new Expansion every 3 years and you only pay for the baseline price of said expansion, there is now a monthly upkeep of 1.30 cents a month, that you will need to invest on top of any Gem store purchases for new packaged content, you would be paying every 3 or so years.
So make no mistake, Anet is making Money on this game and it is not Free2play for full enlisted accounts.

They need to have a 3:1 Policy on gem store weapons/armors. for every 3 Armor sets ( outfits) and weapons (BL Tickets) released that relate to gem purchases, they need to have 1 obtainable with in the games content that does not require a gold sink or mommy’s CC.
As for the gliders and all of them being on the gem store is just a huge slap to the face for EVERYONE who paid for HoT. Since the glider is a HoT only item, 40% of the skins should have been hidden with in HoTs content (MF combines, Rare Drops, Quest rewards, Crafting rewards…ect)
But no, that is not what is happening.

Gaile – The biggest point you missed here (and really made yourself) is there is no feedback from Anet back to the players UNTIL the updates have been pushed to the game or are road mapped via the ‘release preview’ blogs you guys do.
I cannot recall a time in the last 5 years were Anet had an open Dialog with ‘Feedback’ on the forums in between update phases to deal with ANY of the players feedback which was requested by Anet.
that is the point here.
The OP that you replied to is dead on the head of the nail with this. You guys need to have open communication back and forth with this ‘feedback’ you promise. It needs to stop being one way.
Also, why is there a lack of a PTR still? Many of the changes would have been debated between Anet and the player base between PTR and release. Such as the alacrity nerf.

But why force players to restart when its not needed unless they need to get the update to fix their immediate needs?
During the restart window, the number of map instances basically doubles. They likely want to minimize that stress. They should however increase the window for HoT maps based on the meta cycle, but only if the map is and stays populated.
see, there are ways to handle these update+restarts that they are not taking into consideration.
I do like the idea of forcing restarts on HOT based maps longer then 1 hour though. While I have not been hit with the restart during a meta, I sure as hell wouldn’t want to log back in if i were.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
well the one thing that gets me is the forced restarts. Sure if they need to bounce SQL connections or server clusters that makes sense. But why force players to restart when its not needed unless they need to get the update to fix their immediate needs? If we can play the game after an update for an hour before needing a restart, why cant that be 6 hours or 8 hours? Since it affects each client seperately (on close or crash, or logout you need to update to log back in)
so that those players cannot continue exploiting the exploits they just fixed.
well i mean, thats only 1 reason that isnt always applicable, but its a really good one. and its a good basis for protocol.
Sorry but its not. If an Exploit that is game breaking is being patched and thats the reason for the forced update + restart, there are much BETTER ways to handle it. Such as an in game warning for anyone with logs that is currently doing the exploit to cease or they get banned.
Why make the legit players who are in a Meta suffer cause of the 5% who are exploiting?
yea, that makes all the sense in the world…

They should be taking the Metas into account. Pull a server population and Meta % track, If less then 10% of the players are going to be affected then sure push that 1 hour reboot button. Otherwise, schedule it for after the majority of the players are done.
its really not rocket science.

I love what HoT brought to GW2, I just do not like HoT. I went through HoT to get what I wanted out of it (all Elite specs, story done on my main 3 characters, and the required masteries to get the story done with maxed Gliding for the upcoming patch). Just finished the Gliding max mastery last Tuesday. Since then, I have not stepped into a HoT zone not even to raid.
But you know what? Aside from RAIDs, I am not spending more then 5% of my time in HoT, anyway. Most of my time comes from doing FoTM (gearing more of my characters for the raids…really good Gold Flow from FoTM right now…its more fun then most other game modes for PVE…ect.), like 80% of my game time, then my weekly RAID, following by my nightly Teq and TT kills. In between I am cleaning inventory in LA or DR.
If I were to create a new character, I would probably run it through mapping to level instead of spending tomes (Id probably use an instant 30 scroll, to be honest) so that would put me back in classic zones for a while…but since I am getting gear from FOTM for my alts and such I dont really have a need to run through HoT zones to grind out gear once that alt would be level 80….not that HoT gives any kind of rewards like that anyway.
There really feels like there is a gap between what we get out of classic GW2 vs HoT over all. And I think the biggest question that needs asked is ‘what is the Point of HoT, Post release’. Because for the most part there isn’t one.

Recently I was trolled by a player named [[REDACTED NAME]], he kicked me off a frac party 1 sec before i was revived and loot the boss chest.
One player can’t kick you. Kicking requires the support of the majority of the party (3 out of 5 members).
While this is true, the kick function has been buggy as of late. I was able to kick someone out of our party by simply requesting it (it was insta kick) other party members didnt have time to respond.
Just like how the LFG window has been buggy (limiting party joins after 1 attempt, really?) or how entering FOTM has been buggy (instance full? really?!)
Anet has a lot of crap to fix.

How would the Marionette fight become a fractal? We required about 25 players per lane, 5 lanes and fractals are 5 players.
Easy peasy : 1 guy per lane and fight readapted for 5 people. You can even add some npc to the fight per line.
Lol! Sure i can see that going SOO well. Most Puggers I see in Fractals are just ‘1,1,1,1,….dodge(maybe), down, 1,1,1’ Putting that much stress on any single player is not what Anet is about.
I just dont see this ever hitting FoTM with the 5 lanes and how the event was setup way back.
They could just add it to the world and throw it into the rotation.
They could add a portal so that its not ‘in’ the world but accessible none-the-less
They could make it instanced and require 25people to raid it
There are soo many ways they can handle that one boss.
But I would rather see the majority of S1’s content come back to the masses, not just one encounter that is going to drop yet another set of 3 blues, 2 greens, and maybe 1 yellow if you are lucky. Just not my thing.

The parties in question are satisfied, let it go already
No. This is not about the fact that the OP and Anet are both happy with the outcome of this situation. This is about the fact that Anet first attempted to strip the OP of both gold and items, and hoped he wouldn’t complain about it. It is only because of the uproar on Reddit that Anet was forced to go beyond sending him “We’re right, you’re wrong” e-mails and actually do something to rectify the situation in a manner that is fair to the OP.
This is a serious issue that needs to be resolved on Anets side, and other players, as well as potential players, have a right to know that this sort of unethical practice takes place at Anet. You’re making the assumption that Anet knew they were wrong the entire time which doesn’t appear to be the case.
Look, If the OP never went to reddit this would have never gotten resolved and the OP would have still been ‘in the wrong’.
THAT.IS.THE.POINT!
Which isn’t what the person I quoted was saying. I was responding specifically to them and not to the discussion of this thread.
And that comes back to my strong belief that Anet does not have any solid policies in place that their employees follow. As all their CS Staff seems to give different results depending on the day, moons phase, and if we are in summer or winter.
I know they check up on CS tickets, and every so often they just dismiss them however they want until the customer pings back (sometimes enraged).
I have had this happen to be no less then 5 times since playing this game from pre-launch. The first time was about gem reimbursement, got denied by one GM, then got reimbursement from another GM. I can post the Emails from 2 years ago if you want.
Point is, they do not all follow the same rules. And they should. If I am going to get reimbursed anyway, why the wall of denial at the first attempt? That’s just poor customer service.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
The only reason I went to social media was because my support ticket that autogenerated in my email acusing me of buying was not actually handled or looked into and was just replied to with copy pasta of the GMs saying they are 100% sure in their findings even with the loads of evidence I provided to prove I had done none of such until they replied with “this is the last correspondence I will make regarding this issue.” I can’t begin to describe how terrible it feels to have the system come down on you and tell you are going to pay for crimes that you did not commit and would have bear the mark of a criminal forever when you are an honest law-abiding [player].
The other reason I went to social media to share what had happened to me was to bring into the light a problem that could effect anyone who sells goods on the trading post. You could list anything and gold sellers or someone who bought gold could buy that item and basically screw you over making you lose out on your item, your gold, your trading and listing fees, and could even get you banned when it is out of your control who you sell to.
I am overall glad this issue was brought to the attention to the community and to Arenanet staff as Customer Support Lead didn’t even know they had checks in place for RMT transactions on the trading post.
In the end I did get my gold returned to me but what not even a priority to me. The most important things to me were having the truth emerge and to not have bad marks against my account or standings with support and developers on a game I love to play and to ensure this issue was looked in to so no one has to live in fear of using the trading post.
I was most pleased when Game Support Lead send me an email with the body containing “I do want to assure you that I’m looking at how to prevent this in the future. No legitimate player should be punished for good fortune.” That was the most important thing to me.
I was not talking about you, OP, in my response to Anet. I was talking directly to Anet.
You were in the right to reach out to the community when the company (Anet) failed you.
what is sad is that they couldn’t just pick up the CS Ticket again, revise their findings and auto correct WITH OUT posting more on the reddit post. That is what SHOULD have happened.

They could bring back S1 quite easily. Sure it would be a bit messy but its perfectly doable.
And they could use the mega server to do it. Anyone who has unlocked/gained access to S1 should be able to activate said events on a new underpopulated map. Open a LFG and start inviting players into the S1 map, just like we currently do for SW/meta maps to gain a higher success rate. Rewards should be the same as they were in S1 for completing an invasion map, with an added currency to buy S1 Vendor items that are now locked behind the Laurel Vendor.
S1 could have its own control board, you click a button to spawn yourself into a new map and the events start up. It could be 1 or 2, or even 3 phases to get the story/dynamic content going (such as the portals, maybe they spawn for 3 rounds, then the map completes and closes…ect)
same with Marionette and the before ruined LA.
There is no logical reason they cannot do this. The code for S1 is still around. They just need to build an interface to allow players to access the content on special spawned maps.
And this takes it away from the Personal Story idea and puts it back into a giant, 300man, global map. the way it was first experienced, the same way it should still be experienced.
that is how this could work.
It’s not that easy. If it where I’m sure they would have done it already.
Id rather see a portal spawn at X time for the marionette. So it’s on a timer like other world bosses. Make getting a group easier and such, even though I hate timers.
The truth is no one knows how ‘easy’ or not something like this would be. I am just simply giving an idea that is suitable to the means. Running it against the mega server and letting it be in the world is doable.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
How would the Marionette fight become a fractal? We required about 25 players per lane, 5 lanes and fractals are 5 players.
The Marionette is a boss fight, it doesn’t belong to a raid either.
It could work like swamp, dredge or underwater, where there are different paths. You get a defend event in one lane for a period of time, and then depending on the fractal level, you get one of the five boss fights. Something similar could be done to add it as a personal story instance.
Heroes, thats how it would work.
Running it in a 5man FOTM is not the way. It would not be nearly as good as when it was in the open world.
But if we had heroes that we could organized…it could work.

they didn’t give the gold back.
I am they. I assure you; I did. =)
Thank you the information. It was very disturbing to think that the trading post was not a safe place to sell items and that ANet could remove gold and not restore items from innocent accounts, unless a fuss was made as shown on that thread. Perhaps you should go back to that thread and state exactly what was finally done and what the policy is for items bought with RMT gold as the thread ended without this information being clear.
And this is why these situations shouldn’t be posted on Reddit of all places. Now you have to spend EXTRA time to fix the situation that has already been dealt with.
complete time waste.
Or….
It’s an opportunity for them to clearly state the policy regarding RMT transactions and when accounts will be sanctioned. As far as I know this has never been stated and unless openness and clarity is bad, then this is a good place for them to get their message out.
They cannot even agree on a refund policy, what makes you think they can agree on a RMT/TP policy?

Hey guys; Chris is out for the week but I’ve been looking at this and the bottom line is that this was a single incident that was mishandled when we removed the gold before looking deeper into the account’s behavior.
We made things right with the player because it is not our desire to punish someone who clearly took advantage of a buyer who didn’t check their source. They did not engage in RMT activity and should not have had their gold removed which is why we gave it back.
On the other hand when this happens – An account buys something worthless for a large sum – it is almost always RMT activity but it still falls on mine and Chris’ teams to investigate the account before removing the gold.
If you (as players) engage in fair gameplay you should feel confident that neither CS nor GS are aiming to take action on your account – but we make mistakes. If we do; reach out and we’ll fix it. You all know me well enough by now to know I’m going to do right by you.
Personally, I think you guys should have never replied to the player the way you did on Reddit. It should have been done via a support ticket entirely. I really do think that is the root of the issue as we see it. And the fact is, the player base doesn’t need to know how you guys handle each and every case.
Everything else aside.

My biggest question about this, why did Anet hand out any Gold for this transaction at all?
Why not just ban the buyer, and then roll the seller’s account back (I Assume TP listings are part of the account rollback feature?) and then thats that.
The fact that anet posted this on Reddit is troublesome enough as they should really not have openly posted about this at all. But rather kept between the account holder and support.
But what happens when a player lists an item for 3k-4k and a RMT account holder buys said item and gets banned when the Gold is traced back to accounts that are flagged? The Item in question is lost (lets say its a legendary that someone put a lot of time on here) and all that gold is just up in the air.
There NEEDS to be a policy in place about this kinda stuff from happening, and it needs to be a policy that the accounts that are not found at fault get rolled back OR the item gets reimbursed. Let the Gold hit the Void, so as long as the seller can get their item back who cares.
Then what happens if at time point a, you sell an item that is used by gold sellers either now or in the future. Then at time point b, you finally get the precursor drop from the mystic forge and it’s the one you want. Then time point c comes along and rolls your account back to point a, with point a being before point b.
So now innocent players are likely to lose any progress in the game if their irk is bought by a gold seller? In my opinion, that’s worse, because what if it had been eight months like what happened with the reddit poster? That is a lot of achievement points, gem purchases, skin unlocks, possibly even a few characters if I make alts.
You do know that your entire account doesnt need rolled back, they can just rollback what was affected. Thats the beauty of database systems.

Next we’ll probably see account-shared bags of all sizes ranging in price from exorbitant to astronomical…..
I would like to see a buy-back feature in the gem store so we can return the items that are clearly obsoleted by new items. Extra salvage-o-matics fall into this category. If I could return them to the gem store, even at a reasonable loss of say 20%, that would be a good idea.
Actually what they could just do is give a vendor Gold value to all BLTP Items that are not locked into the wallet. Say the current gold value of about 80% of what the gems were worth on the date you bought said item.
This way, if you bought an item 2-3 years ago and yes you did you get your value for it, you are not completely out of the gold/gems for it.
I do not feel sorry for the players that bought more then 1 of each of the unlimited use items and now are mad cause of the account inventory slots. That is just complete entitlement. It would be no different then buying a 1080P TV 3 years ago and expecting to be able to return it because you just bought a brand new 4k TV. Its nothing less then entitlement.

Envoy Armor 1: No will accept you in raids?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: ikereid.4637
Here is the issue with the current raids, take this however you want.
The raids are built for 10 players that function about 90% of Anet’s exceptions. 10% can be anything from Human reaction delay, to Network Latency, or to Class Cooldown limitations. But the 10% is for error correction and being able to still complete the raid.
The raid is NOT built for 8 players to carry 2, unlike in pretty much every other MMO to date. That is how 10man/25man WoW raids were setup. So that 75% of the raid had to perform at 90% while the other 25% could fail at their class and the raid would not suffer.
In GW2, there is very little room for Error. That is why the 1%, Critical thinkers, Min-Maxers are winning at RAIDs and your traditional PUG is not.
Also Raids are still ‘new’. I bet in 6months or so after the majority of the first raid has been completely released and conquered Anet will adjust the raid to accommodate for 75% success rather then the current 90%, which will fix the issues I am seeing with the raids and that many others are reporting.
Community issues aside.

Your not forced to pug with strangers , your meant to group with people you know and play with. raids are not designed for pugs at the moment, they are designed for communities of people who can communicate and play together as a team.
The pugs will also be filled with ‘min-max’ raiders from other games that can only think in terms of ‘min-maxing’ and trying to micro manage fights because they learn from videos and ‘swapping people in’ aka booting people because winning is more important than playing together. things will relax a bit in 6 months.
AKA, Critical thinkers and the 1%. Which is what the Raids are built for.

What I really want to see is the big guys (teq, kitten, jormag) becoming “map wide” events. Think Jormag…but with two more phases on two additional spots on the map. I know it might be a bit of a technical strain but I’ve always wondered, why do teq and kitten keep landing on the same spot…they don’t feel alive. But if they had more phases on different parts of the map…Epic?
One can dream…Agreed, I really loved bigbosses like that in games. They terrorized the entire map, made you scared of them if you happened to encounter one on your own.
I know you don’t actually mean them wandering around, but just at certain locations.
Though I would love the first one.
I think wondering around is exactly what he means. I think these dragons should be so massive and kitten that they OWN the maps (Much like DS with Mord and his Minions).
I personally think that Claw should be able to leave FSG and move to other areas to spread the influence of Jormag, during the Claw’s Spawn cycle. But I know, thats asking a bit much.
Something like this;
(BTW I was there for the Nov 2003 Kill- and it was Epic!)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EverQuest#Kerafyrm
The guild Blood of the Spider on The Rathe server was the first guild system-wide to kill Ventani (the fourth warder) on July 28, 2001, and therefore wake the sleeper. The event caused a stir on the server when Kerafyrm went into multiple zones, including Skyshrine, killing everyone and everything in his path.
On November 15, 2003, on the Rallos Zek PvP server, the three top guilds (Ascending Dawn, Wudan, and Magus Imperialis Magicus) assembled over 180 players with the intent to wake and kill The Sleeper. This was in response to an attempt to wake The Sleeper by an Iksar monk named Stynkfyst, who partnered with the largest random-pk guild of the time. Having been a former member of uber-guild Ascending Dawn, he had the knowledge the random pk guild needed to wake The Sleeper. The top guilds did not assemble their forces until word of Stynkfyst’s intentions had spread, and it became clear that he intended to wake The Sleeper, forever preventing future guilds from farming the old loot table. Until this point, waking The Sleeper had not been seriously considered by any guilds, as it was believed that waking The Sleeper would make the offending guild’s players kill-on-sight to the other guilds of the server. After 3 hours and 15 minutes, at 26% health, Kerafyrm disappeared (despawned). The players talked with the EverQuest Game Masters, and there was a general consensus that a bug had caused the problem, although some suggested (backed by statements from one GM) that higher-ups at SOE had purposely despawned Kerafyrm, because it was not intended to be part of the story.
The following day, the players logged in to find that Kerafyrm was back in his “sleeping” state, ready to be triggered again. There was also an apology on the official EverQuest forums from SOE, explaining that they had stopped the encounter because they feared the players were engaging the boss in an unintended manner. Although annoyed (the players pointed out that the reasons SOE gave could not have occurred, and felt lied to), they attempted to battle Kerafyrm once again.
On November 17, 2003, after a nearly 3-hour battle, Kerafyrm was defeated. He had between 100 million and 400 million hit points, likely around 250 million (most EverQuest bosses have 2 million at most), was immune to all spells except wizard’s manaburn spell and Shadow Knight’s Harm Touch, possessed two death touch abilities (abilities that automatically killed players), and attacked players for 6999 damage per swing. By using the cleric’s epic weapon and other resurrection spells, the players were able to bring their dead characters back into the battle faster than Kerafyrm could kill them all.

Thanks for your advise. They don’t care that you are a good client he has spent about 1000 euros in GW1 and GW2 since 2005 . its sounds crazy but some people love this game so much and I’m sure that there are people that has spent even more money.
5 mails in each mail a diferent GM person and everybody telling him no. he only received 2800gems its just the cost of the 5 shared inventory slots right?
So I guess he can try again.
Despite of i haven’t enoughs gold to purchase gems the new item is very interesting
Its not that they dont care, Anet doesnt have a policy that all of its employees follow. so you can get mixed results depending on when and what day you open the ticket on.
But yes, 2800 gems is the cost of the 5 slots.

Here is the snippet from the above link:
“In the future, if we release further Guild Wars 2 expansions, we plan to offer all of the prior expansions, the core game, and the latest expansion for one single purchase price.”
Yeah. Free to play will always be JUST the core game. When a new expansion comes out, they wont add old expansions to free to play. They never said that. One will ALWAYS have to pay for an expansion to get expansion content/features.
They may split the F2P and the packaged game a bit though. I can see GW2 being on its 5th Expansion and the F2P folks getting up to Expansion 3 for free to just keep them interested and the gem purchases flowing.
What I cant still get behind is the price of HoT for what we got out of it so far. To many Gem store HoT theme’d items that should have been included with the base HoT game though collections or otherwise. Glider skins anyone?!

Claw of Jormag is up there for me. It’s meant to be epic but it’s just irritating and boring. The fear and knockdowns aren’t fun and I’d love to see a rework of it.
I have to agree. Since the theme of GW2’s story seems to be around the Dragons, Shatterer getting reworked, Teq got reworked, Claw needs reworked too.
I always found it kinda strange that a dragon, Like Claw, would never let its ‘food’ get close to it and we had to fight a wall, watch a Giant cannon clip his wings (I always LOL’d at that) then support golems to explode on its foot, instead of face to foot fight him(like the other dragons lol). Lag aside, the fight was never ‘Epic’ Enough.
There has to be a more interesting way we can encounter and take down Claw, then what we are currently doing.

Hell even on Teq, you can join at :55 and still get a 98% success rate now thanks to the damage changes.

GW2 @ high/ultra settings at 4K resolution with 60FPS is easily achievable with 980Ti, TITAN X, etc.
Its also achievable with a single 290, 290x, 390, 390x, 295×2 and the Fury, FuryX, Fury NANO all cheaper then the 980Ti/TitanX.
So basically what you’re trying to say is, Nvidia is ripping off it’s customers. I actually have to agree there.
its not Nvidia’s fault, its the press’s fault. But Benchmarks pretty much tell the story
The issue with GW2 over all is its still DX9 based. So no matter what GPU you buy, the CPU is always going to be the limiting factor.
IMHO, for 4k there is no real point to buy anything more then a Fury, 390x, or 980 right now(Sub 500~ Range). Or just wait for Pascal to release and see what new features come from HBM 2.0.

Im sorry but I find it funny that you guys who purchased 3x 3x 3x of the gathering tools to be expecting refunds cause of these shared slots. Entitled much?
Even after the shared slots, having unlimited gathering on multiple characters is STILL a serious QoL feature. You should be happy, and not demanding refunds for something that you purchased with the intended use just cause a new feature comes out. I mean seriously here…
You should complain about 1 slot for 700gems, when we get 20slots (1 bag slot) for 400gems, or an extra bank tab for 600 gems. The new addon does not match up with the other inventory upgrades….THAT is something to complain about here.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
700Gems (124G~ or $10USD) for 1 slot that is shared is completely insane for what you get.
Think of the uses that is getting missed here by limiting it to 5 slots (Cost aside)
Full Ascended set swaping,
BL item’s, (Trader, BLTP, Repair Can,..ect)
Boosters,
BoA items between Alts for leveling,
Zone specific keys/currency,
Basically everything that we use the bank for now, that would make it a SERIOUS quality of life change to have more slots to use this with.
That being said, I vote for 20 slots. Each TP gem purchase should unlock 5 slots (Yes, at 700 Gems each, which is pretty close to Bank Tabs Unlocks and Extra Bag Slots,…so No it should NOT be more then 700gems).
THAT I would invest in right now.
But just 5 slots? No, Anet you can keep your lousy 5 freaking slots.

Yes, noticed it during the dragon event in Frostgorge yesterday. Really crappy fps followed by smooth fps moments later.
This is normal, actually. Happens at all boss events where there are a ton of mini’s present. The smoothness happens about 60seconds after mass combat starts and after the minis are hidden.
has done this to me for years.

They will adjust for the 4k HUB before to long, its just very very low on their priority list. Cause as mentioned before, 4k is very small in terms of exposure. Not very many players actually have that kind of setup. Let alone the GPU to drive games at that resolution.

At the moment I wouldn’t consider it at all, and I will never pre purchase from them again. The fact they even mention another xpac at this point makes me ill.
Yeah I know, my first thought was “well aren’t you gonna finish hoT first?” I mean they haven’t even released 25% of the new legendaries, WvW is a mess, only 1 Stronghold map released… Not even gonna mention raids…
Creating expansion takes years. They started working on HoT right after the main game release. You know, company like ArenaNet has many teams and each works on something else. From what I have read about the balance between regular updates and expansions, I understand that we should expect new story update every 4-6 weeks and that way we can go kill another dragon in 2 years instead of 3. I think that is nice….
On launch they clearly had the story for HoT done (see COE) and I believe they planned on a GW1 model of expansions but they tried living story since gem sales took off after launch. They did not start building this expansion until a year ago, believe what you will. The super secret WvW plan that’s been in development for over a year? Is a smoke screen to cover their failure with HoT where WvW is concerned.
They want to return to a GW1 style of expansion? Fine, but they need to kill the gem store model first because I won’t buy xpacs for a Free To Play cash shop game.
Peace.
1 We know fine well that Anet planned for living story instead of expansions and the reason for HOT is they realised there was huge demand for an expansion and that people were unhappy with living story in the main.
2 Its Gems instead of paying $15 a month for a sub, and expansions instead of living story. Its really not that difficult to understand is it?
I don’t know when you bought the game but when I and many others did the gem shop wasn’t supposed to intrude into the game, in fact it was promised that it wouldn’t. If you’re new here welcome but don’t revise history for someone who was here for it.
Gems were defended when LS was the model but they’ve gone with the expansion model again so yes I expect them to change. I hated how gem store driven Anet went post launch, I’ve disliked it all along. I hate that they turned my B2P game into a Free To Play game. I am disappointed with the expansion as it’s meta event not open world content. I hate the state of WvW and PvP balance.
I understand you disagree but I own a BTP expansion of a now FTP game and if they want my money again things will have to change, understand?
How does gem shop intrude into the game?
Are there special boosters unobtainable elsewhere?
Special Gear?
Some awesome pvp pots?
Is it necessary to be able to play end-game?
I don’t see any, they kept their word. I may not like how frequent gem shop updates are compared to the rest, but that doesn’t mean it suddenly “intrudes” into the game.
Game being free to play increased sales and it’s one of the best ways to sell a product, feel free to take your money elsewhere.Mind your tone. I’m a paying customer I need permission from no one. Going Free To Play devalued my purchase to zero, I have every right to have a problem with that.
Expansion drops and more gem store items have been released than were added to the game with the xpac.
They have only released 3 legendary weapons but had gem skins ready to go, that’s interfering.
Right back at you, your post suggests that letting a crapton of people try the game for free is somehow bad for it.
Going free to play did not invalidate my 3+ years of fun, but it somehow invalidated yours, like I said, feel free to take your money elsewhere.P.D. Still waiting on those examples ’bout the GS “intruding” into the game.
Dungeon gold was nerfed and wasn’t replaced or moved to another part of the game and they said they would. Gold generation being nerfed was absolutely about gold to gems. Thanks for the interaction try a softer target
Actually, It was. It moved to FOTM encryption chest rewards.
Not at the rate that you used to make running dungeons.
Very Close. I am averaging about 3g-4g after 2-3 Lv40 Runs. And that’s with just encryption chests, not including Ascended salvaging, Exotics, Rares, and other crap we get.

— I like to think of an old expression that my granny said, “The proof is in the pudding.” In this case, take that odd expression to mean that we, as players and forum members, can see through actual game development that the feedback that we give is being read, reviewed, analyzed, and often implemented!
