Toxic event farmers still an issue

tl;dr some people behaved abominably toward the OP and I think the OP should report them (& I hope that ANet can identify them and take appropriate action). I think it’s a bad thing that some event/event chains are more rewarding if they fail and I think ANet should fix them.

I just don’t think it’s as urgent as some people suggest. I think there are other issues in the game that are more important (and some that aren’t as important but are much easier to fix/change).

This^

Anet will fix things when time warrants it. Once upon a time there was a Frostgorge Champ Train and many players practically lived up there.

I saw people get harassed there like the OP was when they killed one of the champs “out of order”. Eventually Anet fixed it for both the economy and the harsh social climate.

Anet does take player griefing seriously, but as IWN said, smaller individual occurrences may not be a top priority, but they usually do address them.

Difficulty Level of raids

jheryn.8390

That is just in no way true. Anet built raids to be the most difficult content in the game. It isn’t guessing or speculating about it, that is literally why they were built to give elite players a platform.

And as far as players “not wanting to learn”, that is rubbish. Maybe not 100%. There are several people I know that can pull off dungeons. They have been taught and have tried, ad nauseum, to participate in raids. They have been through dozens of tries in the raids and they simply cannot pull it off. They want it bad, but by their own admission, cannot do it. Calling people ‘lazy and ’unwilling’ is not really understanding players who are not as skilled as you.

In what way they can pull of dungeons? Pressing key numero uno and getting carried by the rest of the 5-man-group?
Because I call it rubbish that a player who can run Arah without any problems will struggle at Escort, or Mursaat Overseer, Samarog, VG, Trio and Cairn.
Yesterday night we carried 4 ppl through Cairn and MO and they had 0 clue of those bosses before. Earlier we killed VG 3 new players with a short explanation only.

Of course raids are hard at the beginning but after a few weeks 8 out of 13 bosses are solid kills.

Yes his explanation make 0 sense, i mean the player can dodge attacks and do mechanics on arah like the boss that does an green attack that snares you and grow a poisons tree ( the one with the gorillas ) , but for some reason cant dodge a blue circle on VG? its literally the same thing press dodge button, dodge the green/purple/rainbown color attack, boon you are done.

Well, since you don’t know me or my group or have any basis whatsoever to make those assumptions, I honestly don’t care if you understand or not. Making assumptions about what they can and can’t do is way off track as well. Please don’t assume you know what their skills sets are or are not.

When I said breeze through with those people, I meant that we can accomplish it with them without spending hours in there or constantly wiping. Even great players make mistakes. Many times they may die in the dungeons but they have waypoints to respawn from. They don’t have to deal with timers, not being able to be resurrected, and any other number of mechanics that take more skill than dealing with poisonous trees. You don’t have to have certain roles for dungeons. Sometimes we do dungeons by just taking one class type in the group.

I’ve just got the feeling instead of acknowledging that there are people with different skill sets, people with limited abilities, and those with real life restrictions that limit their ability and time to play, you just want to be hateful about it. You probably don’t understand that other people can’t just be as good as you with or without practice. You also can’t seem to understand that Raids are harder content (and were created to be) than any other PvE game types.

If you truly believe that dungeons are on par with raids then I wonder how well you do in raids. I wouldn’t think very.

Or maybe they won’t because they choose not to learn.

I’ve also been a part of both raids and dungeons, the literal difference between then and now is a timer and more mechanics. Not more difficult mechanics, just different ones.

Nothing you see in raids is any harder in practice than what you see in dungeons/fractals.

That is just in no way true. Anet built raids to be the most difficult content in the game. It isn’t guessing or speculating about it, that is literally why they were built to give elite players a platform.

Norn for me. Their lore isn’t bad, but they are basically GW2 Vikings.

Their personal story doesn’t have much interesting either. Nothing that you care about.

Even the human story, which would take second place has things I remember. Not the Norn.

The worst lore for a race in my opinion is the charr. They no longer worship gods. The end. I don’t find anything rich or interesting to draw me into the race.

New Infinity Tools Op

jheryn.8390

Yes some will. What does it cost Anet to keep them around to let those who want them still buy them?

It costs them decrease of purchases by everyone else.

It doesn’t. They are just lines of code they put into the TP. If they sell they make money, if most people buy the new ones, then they still make money. No decrease.

If you are in this for utility, and you can choose between two tools, both of which cost the same but one of which is functionally superior to the other, why would you ever pick the other one?

Again, it isn’t just about utility. To you yes. To others, maybe no.

It’s the same as with new tier of gear. You’re much more likely to pay a lot/invest a lot of effort into a gear set if you expect it to remain top tier forever, than if you knew it will be replaced by a better one at some point.

Well, if you look at it that way, you may be playing with sub-par gear for years until the “next best thing” arrives.

I simply wouldn’t have bought any.

The most important word in that whole passage is assumption. And yes they did make that statement. I remember. They have also made statements about making things for sale you could also get in the game.

Do you think that somehow that second statement should give them a pass on breaking the first one? Because i don’t.

I believe those statements were in the same time period. They said they do what they did with the watchwork mining pick again that it was a mistake. They did say they would have no problem recreating something you could get in game. You can get unbound magic harvesting tools in game.

The new tools are just permanent versions of the ones you can buy for karma. They did not make something that gives advantage only buy purchasing it like the watchwork mining pick. You can get the same advantage for karma. You want a permanent version, you have to pay. No P2W like the mining pick. You have options.

some people will still buy them. For others, those that are after utility, the old tools suddenly became worthless. For some, the worth of tools they already had just went down.

Yes some will. What does it cost Anet to keep them around to let those who want them still buy them?

Worthless? They still are able to harvest infinitely. If they feel they are worthless they have a strange sense of worth.

Even for the ones I purchased that I don’t necessarily care about the aesthetics, I used them and got benefit from them for a long time. I’m not going to complain about what is in the past.

I am, because my purchase was based on the assumption that there will never be a better set of tools. And that assumption was a result of explicit dev statement. People were concerned about this possibility originally, and did ask about it. If at that time Anet responded with their classic “it’s not off the table” answer, less people would have decided to buy those tools.

The most important word in that whole passage is assumption. And yes they did make that statement. I remember. They have also made statements about making things for sale you could also get in the game. You can get harvesting tools in game that have the same unbound magic bonus as the infinite tools. They cost karma instead of gems and have a limited number of uses. They still have the same function. You don’t have to buy gems to get the harvesting bonuses. So they just made infinite tools that do something you can already get in game.

As far as the car analogy, it is not wrong. You do expect to get a new car over a course of time, you do not expect to get a new car every time the model you have is upgraded.

Guess what??? After failing a couple of times in raids you will breeze thought it just like TA and arah p4. Who would knew that you get better if you try, instead of giving up without trying :O

No it is because raids are much much more difficult. There are rotations and mechanics you must have down. Etc., etc., etc.

And raids are not easy after failing a couple of times for many people. Maybe not you. Maybe not me, but for some it is the way it is.

Not really.

Raids are on par with the launch dungeons and the early days of Fractals (aka before ascended gear and a metric ton of power creep). Not so much harder, but people have this affinity to believe that because they can’t, won’t or don’t that it’s somehow harder.

Sorry, but that is simply not true. Raids are much more difficult than early fractals or dungeons. I’ve played them from the start. Raids are much more difficult.

Many people believe that they can’t and it it is harder because it is.

I think you underestimate your guild mates here. Pretty much any player can handle raids, if they are willing to spend the time required to learn the encounters. It’s a steep entry, I agree. But it’s not an impenetrable barrier. I’d argue it was pretty much the same with dungeons, albeit on a (slightly) different scale.

Well, you don’t know my guild mates, so I think it fair to say that you really are not in a position to kitten them. I am. As I said earlier, not all people have the same ability and time. Many of these guildmates are people with jobs and families that leave them little time to learn encounters. Dungeon’s are infinitely easier to do.

Some like TA and Arah have slightly more difficulty, but there are no timers, enrage, party requirements, builds, etc., etc., etc., that you need to do them. In many raids, one or two people dying means wiping. Not so in dungeons. Make it to the next waypoint and all is good. Also no ressurecting in dungeons from dead.

Again, I love raids, dungeons, and fractals and do them all. They are not all created equal.

Sure, many players would have troubles taking roles with more responsibility. But for the most part they don’t have to. There are encounters where you can be tasked with something important regardless (Matthias, Sloth, etc.) but there are others where you can simply dps. Surely someone who can deal with the oozes in Aetherblade can handle few White Mantles and a warg at Escort. It’s a long journey, but it begins with just tagging along and doing your best.

The escort is by far the easiest of the raids. We have indeed taken some of these people along for that. The other raids, however, just require to many skill sets and damage output for these guild members to keep up with.

The oozes in Aetherblade are very easy if you just have one person who is knowledgeable about how to dispose of them. You can guide your teammates along. Same with most of the encounters in TA. In raids, everyone has to be good at playing their character, know what they are doing in the encounter, and be able to know boss mechanics. On top of that the difficulty scale and damage required is infinitely higher.

You are probably a good raider and it is often easy to think that other players can be just as good. What may seem a cake walk for people like you and me are often a mountain to climb for others.

For me, one has a superior animation, one has a horrid one, one has a decent economic fringe benefit, one has a more useful (to me) economic fringe benefit. Which is of those is objectively superior? They are just different.

Aestethics is subjective and is different for everyone. If we compare their non-subjective qualities however, watchwork pick and unbound set are definitely better than all other options.
Besides, i don’t think anyone should be penalized for their aestethic choices. That’s the very reason why we have skin transmutations in the game.

You are right. Aesthetics is subjective. That is exactly why some people will still be happy buying older sets. They like the look and don’t care about the added bonus.

Then not having this bonus would not have impacted them in the slightest, right?

That is the point. Whether they have the bonus or not, people will still buy them.

Even for the ones I purchased that I don’t necessarily care about the aesthetics, I used them and got benefit from them for a long time. I’m not going to complain about what is in the past.

It’s like buying a car and two years later they come out with the same model that has more features. You don’t go to the dealer and ask them to retro fit you old car with the new features.

What is unfair about that is that many PvE players that are casual, role players, and play for the lore/content they will never be able to experience the lore/content in raids because they will never be at the play skill level required.

That specific argument seems pretty moot. There’s a lot of lore/story in explorable dungeons. I highly doubt said players will make it through Arah or TA Aetherblade either. And these have been around for years.

Not true. Arah and TA are both cakewalks compared to any raid area. I’m a raider and I like dungeons. Some of my guildmates are those people that will never be at the level to handle raids. On both Arah and TA I have grouped up with these people and we mostly breeze through. Even the hardest dungeon content is easy compared to raids.

Some of these people have also tried to raid with my group and they just don’t have the skill level to contribute to the group and no amount of healing is able to keep them alive. Many would probably be capable players, but they have lives and families that don’t allow them to spend large amounts of time in game.

Most of them, however, are players from the start of GW1 and love the story, history, and lore of the game. And my previous comments are due to my knowledge that these people are disappointed in not having any access to that lore.

@sly

I am not wanting a dedicated team to focus on anything different. But it is obvious that there are many who do. Again, they have as much right to ask that it happen as does any of the hundreds of players on here asking what they want, including you. You want faster release for raid content. Fine. They want an easy mode fine. It is just my opinion that you shouldn’t be telling them what they should or should not want.

As Hjorje mentioned above, unless you are one of the coders for raid content, you really don’t know if it would be any kind of serious drag on release or not.

Don’t you think raids would be released a lot faster if they didn’t have all that lore attached? Well, that takes time to develop too.

Again, not all people could get that lore whether you think they could or not. You don’t know everyone’s situation so you can’t make that claim. Try again.

Since you are obviously part of the “target audience” that you keep bringing up, it is very easy for you to rail against those who are not. You may not realize this, but target audiences change all the time because of demand.

It’s obvious that you are probably a skilled player. It seems you have little compassion and maybe even disdain for players not of the same skill level as you. I know raids are supposed to be the hardest content in the game. Making an easier mode with less or no rewards doesn’t mean that raids will not still be the hardest content in the game.

Sometimes your subjective desire outweighs objective positives.

Take two cars. Both have identical warranties, features, paint and body types. Everything is the same but… The only differences are that one is a luxury brand and the other is not and the luxury brand costs twice as much. Some people will buy the luxury brand even though both cars are identical in looks, guarantee, and performance because that is the one they desire. The other is objectively the better bargain, but it was passed up for a label.

The objective criteria is not putting enough (if any) effort/talent/soul and simply producing medoicre quality auto-tuned content. The objective criteria is quality. If you’re not doing it good enough, then it’s quite obviously not done good enough.

Again, you are missing the point. Quality is also subjective not objective. What is quality to one person would be garbage to another. The only time quality is substantive is when a set criteria is established. Like quality of diamonds, water, coins, etc. Quality of art is and always will be subjective.

You only get to decide for you if something or someone is “not doing it good enough”. You don’t get to decide that for me. I just believe that you cannot grasp the difference between subjective and objective.

Objective = Set. Proven. Quantifiable.
Subjective = Up for interpretation. Opinion. Not able to be proven.

What is unfair about that is that many PvE players that are casual, role players, and play for the lore/content they will never be able to experience the lore/content in raids because they will never be at the play skill level required.

While I have no problem with difficult content, if they are going to include heavy lore content, then that content should be accessible to all, not just the premium player.

As Lillis, Hjorje, and others have stated, there are various other ways that could be implemented to let non-raid level players experience the story and content without rewarding them with exclusive loot and currencies.

IMO to exclude people from rich lore, if that is what the game is to those people, is unfair. Locking lore behind elite content is wrong.

jheryn.8390

If I exclusively said that ‘noone has the right to enjoy the poorly written Trahearne’, I encourage you to show me where exactly I said that, and upon seeing my quote, I’ll admit on having a stroke at the moment of writing.

Something being bad doesn’t mean noone can enjoy it. Bad tastes exist, and I have them too, in certain spheres.

I think maybe you are missing the point of what IWN is saying. You saying that Trahearne was “poorly written” and he is “something bad” is subjective not objective.

As much as I cannot stand Trahearne and I also believe he was poorly written, I have a couple of friends who think Trahearne, his dialog, and the voice actor were superb. They like his lines and writing. So he is NOT an objectively bad character in any way. He is a subjectively bad character.

You and I might think Trahearne was poorly executed in every way, but in order for him to be objectively bad, everyone would have to agree. There would have to be a basis for you claiming that.

I quite like a few Nickelback songs, but if I ever dare to call them a ‘Great’ music band (which I won’t, because they’re not, but let’s assume for the sake of the argument that I will have an opinion like that because I enjoy some of the content they produce), I should be smashed over the head, because they’re sooooo painfuly much kings of “average” you could slap their photo next to a dictionary definition of the “average” word.

Again, it doesn’t matter who the artist is or what form of art, you will always have people claiming (including experts) that they are Great, average, or poor. I guess I need to ask, what makes you the final say on whether something is great, average, or bad?

Subjective opinion is prefering pork over chicken. Trahearne was an objectively poorly cooked chicken, metaphorically speaking.

That also is not subjective opinion. That is preferential bias which is liking one thing over another.

Objective statements are ones that can be quantified by fact, data, collective consensus and proof. Even “majority opinion” is not objective. It is simply an largely held view.

Subjective statements are ones that you and others may feel to be true, but they are only true for the individual.

Warrior: Dervish. Since the six gods have left, the dervish has abandonded magic derived through devine means and have reverted to their martial ways and pulling what magic they need through bloodstone sources. I think this coudl be a way to give the staff to Warriors. There are current staves that are in scythe form.

Elementalist: Corsair. There are plenty of corsair mages and this magic could further the arcane line type of magics.

Just a thought.

I will also say this – the excuse that they dont communicate the way they used to because of how the community responds is silly imo. These are professional game developers and a company that makes a good deal of money from the sale of the game. Surely they are professional enough to take criticism – even extreme criticism – for what it is without falling apart.

It isn’t as if they can’t take criticism, but the backlash was beyond that for HoT.

Anet hyped it so much that the community blew the hype into a giant monster that most companies couldn’t accomodate. When it wasn’t this god-like version of an expansion that people had dreamed it into being, they went apekitten.

Granted, it most definitely was less than most seemed to want even without the hype and they did not give some of the things they promised, but it wasn’t the failure/object of hate that the forum/internet community at large made it out to be.

If it were my company and I endured the backlash Anet did over HoT, I would have stopped hype and communications too.

next class weapon you want and why

As far as Warrior opportunities for weapons go, though… theres:
Staff for a martial-artist.
Dagger for a brawler-type
Shortbow for a more skirmisher style (Because Chuka+Champawat is an amazing bow)
Mainhand Pistol for an Officer-type (Warriors need defensive support options)

It’s funny that I thought about similar things to these as well, but they all seem to be duplicates of other classes.

The first three are so like the thief/daredevil reasons, that I thought, “Why two of them.”

I know the skills/techniques would be different, they just feel like retreads.
The last one is a great one I didn’t think of. That would be great and I would be on board.

I guess my biggest problem is that every other weapon seems more caster and doesn’t really feel like something a warrior would use.

I know they will have to pick one, but Warrior already seems to be saturated with available weapons. I do like your pistol suggestion.

That was why I picked rifle in my list. It was my snarky attempt in saying they already have everything.

we were given information in these matters what we got was far less what we were hyped for tbh. Tbh it has become a meme today that gen 2 leggies will be a sellimg point of expac 3 LUL

That kind of proves my point. We didn’t get some of the things promised, but most people complaining were complaining starting with “I thought it was going to be…” and “They made it seem like…” People over hyped the information that was given.

I agree that they didn’t provide some of the things they promised. That sucked and was wrong IMO, but they didn’t over hype what they actually provided. The community did that.

Any hype they have given in the past usually winds up biting them in the kitten here and on reddit. They get crushed when content doesn’t live up to people taking the hype and blowing it into something bigger than it actually was. So they stopped altogether. People can’t say it wasn’t what they expected when there was no information given to expect anything out of.

I think there could be a happy medium to get people excited, but I have no idea what that could be. Maybe they could vague something up that would interest people and get them excited without giving any real information or clues away.

I will agree that something should be done to keep us interested other than LS content we have come to expect.

As far as the new zones go. Like pre-HoT zones, they can easily send us back to these places for other things and new events. Maybe we don’t have much reason to go back after the LS, it doesn’t mean we will have no reason in the future.

small guild problem

They OP isn’t saying he wants it handed to him on a platter. He is just saying that is beyond painfully difficult for someone like him to do anything with his guild as it is main just him and very occasionally a friend.

The OP and others in this thread may personally feel that it is “beyond painfully difficult” to “do anything with his guild” but that’s simply not true. As myself and others have pointed out, it isn’t that difficult to make good progress on your guild hall. Many missions are soloable, and the only ‘difficult’ point would be the amount of materials that are needed for certain GH upgrades. This isn’t a roadblock so much as it is a speed limit. You’re only going to make as much progress on guild unlocks as the time and effort you put into it.

Myself and many others have made significant progress on their guild halls with only one or two people donating materials. Is it expensive? Sure. But there are lots of ways to make gold in this game, and if you truly want to upgrade your guild hall on your own or with only one or two friends, you should expect that it’s going to be a slower process than if you had 50 other players contributing.

Another factor is that the guild with 200 might only have around the same number of people contributing as the one with 5.

Khisanth, “might” is the big word in your phrase. I believe you are probably right in many cases. In some cases, like my guild with around 50 regular players when we built our GH, giving was very generous. Not always the case, but for some it is easier.

I am also am one of those drunkenpilot. My personal guild is still at the beggining stages, but I am working on it. I also don’t care how long or fast it takes to build up.

We don’t know the OP’s situation, however. For him/her it may indeed be beyond painfully difficult to do. We don’t know what the OP’s situation(s) are. So while I agree that even one person can make significant progress on a GH, I don’t think it is fair to assume that others have the same time and advantages we do.

One thing I think we can both agree on is that with one person it isn’t easy or inexpensive to do. What is a challenge for us, my be insurmountable for others.

I am part of a small/medium guild and we have a maxed guild hall. I also have my own personal guild that I acquired a completed guild bank before guild halls.

A few weeks ago, I decided to get my own guild hall for ease of getting into my guild bank without having to lose my place in the map I was in. My guildmates from my larger guild helped me acquire my GH.

I don’t plan on doing a lot of upgrades in my personal GH, but even alone I know I could do things over times. I know several people who have done just that.

But people want to one step to completion and forgot that no one is force to build a village with facilities designed for village-sized populations.

If want to build village facilities then pay for it. Sad, I don’ understand nowadays people.

I get what you are saying, but it doesn’t address the OP’s original post or the way the guy I quoted replied to the OP.

They OP isn’t saying he wants it handed to him on a platter. He is just saying that is beyond painfully difficult for someone like him to do anything with his guild as it is main just him and very occasionally a friend.

next class weapon you want and why

It fits to me because it is about as basic a weapon as can be had. Leather shields were common to indiginous hunter/gather cultures as well as many fantasy ranger type characters I have read over the years.

Shields don’t all have to be huge, ornate bulwarks crafted for nights and jousters.

Warrior – Rifle as I think they should be proficient in all mundane weapons.

Is this a joke?

Yes it was. Good catch. I have never cared for using a Rifle on a warrior, but more than that, they already have about every weapon a warrior would use, I figured that we had to start recycling.

u should understand, if i can do it, you should be able to do. maybe you need moar friends? or maybe you just need to git gud. either way, this is gw2 an mmo, not a 2 player co-op game. if you don’t like it, find another game. if u do like it, well, thats fine too, either way, doesn’t change anything for mi

just don’t cry to change my game, u need to change the way u play, not the other way around

That’s not advice, that’s being snide and hateful.

The OP came on looking for answers not to be treated with disdain. Many people have similar concerns. It doesn’t mean that their concerns are unfounded. Not all people have the time, temerity or ability to do the things like you may do. This is supposed to be a game played easily by the casual or pro player. His question is valid.

On an overal level, I would love to see many of the offhand and just main hand weapons be used in the other hand.

Would love to see off hand scepter and main hand torch. To whom they would go to, I have no idea, but I think they could be easily placed.

I also would love to see underutilized weapons get a boost.

Specifically, I would love to see:

Elementalist – Offhand Sheild with great arcane applications.
Engineer – Shortbow with explosive arrowheads
Guardian – Shortbow as it is a natural progression with already having Longbow
Mesmer – Dagger as it fits in with the “entertainer” aspect of the class.
Necromancer – Either offhand axe for the creepiness or torch for the same reason.
Ranger – Shield as it is a natural fit for the class.
Revenant – Warhorn to call things from the mists.
Theif – Rifle for a sniper type of character.
Warrior – Rifle as I think they should be proficient in all mundane weapons.

I have all nodes and harvestables in my home instance and my order of preferance is:

Human – Best Aesthetic IMO and 2nd easiest to farm.
Asura – Nice aesthetic and easiest to farm.
Norn – 2nd best aesthetic IMO but very spread out.
Char – OK aesthetic and very spread out.
Sylvari – Nice aesthetic but most awkward to farm IMO.

MMO Introverts Unite (individually)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I tend to be very introverted as well. I played all the first seven years of GW1 solo. In the last three months of playing GW1 I joined a guild. I still didn’t use the voice chat of choice for my guild but did team up on occassion.

When GW2 rolled around, my guild transitioned to the new game and I became more involved. Even became an officer and started chatting on occasion.

Eventually, my old guild was to big and had a lot of in-fighting. I left that guild and joined up with some other ex guild members and other people who were creating a small guild of friends. At first, I was just a member and after one of the main officers left I was asked to become an officer as well.

I find that growing to know each member of my guild has made me more social. I often still play by myself as is my nature, but find myself more and more joining in on Team Speak and socializing with these people because (and only because) I know them well. I now do engage in a lot of group activities with my guild mates like fractals, raids, dungeons and guild activities.

I still play a lot of nights solo but engage with my guildmates in guild chat.

So thanks to my current guild, I have learned to become much more social. IRL, I still stick to myself a lot. Socializing IRL still hasn’t become much of my thing unless they are good friends/family.

Did GW2 lose its identity?

I disagree, completely. When you play with people who don’t even know what a rotation is, you don’t do nearly enough damage.

Also people that can’t do rotations wouldn’t cut it in fractals or dungeons.

What do you mean “wouldn’t cut it”? Wouldn’t be able to do Fractals or Dungeons, or wouldn’t be accepted into a dedicated group? Because the former is patently false.

I am right there with Djinn. My group runs dungeons and T4 fractals all the time. We accomplish them in a decent amount of time and have a lot of fun doing it. Those type of opinions are false and need to be kept to yourself.

Our casual guild has no problem with any dungeon and depending on the group, very little problems even with the most difficult fractals. Many of these people are decent players but they certainly don’t have rotations down. Even so, fractals and dungeons are not a problem.

So I am with Hjorje, Vayne, and Djinn. Knowing rotations is not a requirement for doing enough damage for fractals and dungeons. I would say knowing the content and how to deal with it is what is important.

We NEED 30-40 Slot Bags

First let me start by saying I am the biggest pack rat alive. I keep so much stuff that I do not need to keep it is crazy. I have all bank slots purchased and a fully expanded personal guild bank and several mules. I still fill these things up.

But I have to agree with those here that say the main problem is inventory management. Very often, I have to go through and de-junk. There are many things that I hold on to that frankly not worth keeping. That is on me. I choose to keep this stuff and I can manage it.

If I would get rid of stuff initially, I wouldn’t have to manage at all and have space to spare.

I thought the “salty” parts were funny too. I didn’t find them mean spirited at all.

It just shows that they are human. Also it shows the community that some things are in the game for a reason and constant complaining about it will not change things.

So I wouldn’t say those comments were mean but rather ironic.

They confirmed they working on another expansion shortly after HoT.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/48zlyd/im_mike_obrien_here_with_gw2_dev_team_ama/

It probably got cancelled the very next day. You can’t trust a business.

You can trust a business wants to make money. Cancelling an expansion the day after they announced it publicly is a good way to lose money; I think we can safely rule out that theory.

No, I work at a business factory and my job is a business man. Job #1 around here is to be greedy and evil, if you can’t do both we will find someone who will.

I’m curious what a “business factory” is and what kind of job a “business man” is.

As IWN stated, and you did in a strange way, it is a business’ desire to make money. So why tell IWN that he/she “No”? I think IWN was spot on.

I think that the next expansion will be announced sometime this year and hopefully dropping next year.

I was being facetious. I do agree with him, I was presenting a sarcastic and disingenuous counterpoint for a cheap laugh, basically.

LOL. Sorry. Didn’t pick up on that. It seemed serious.
