As I was discussing with a guildmate last week, the HoM rewards are a good thing. Many people who complain now about not having them because they did not play GW would be the same people complaining if the rewards from GW2 were to be given to people in GW3 (if it ever happens) who did not play GW2.

Also, as others have said, if you want the reward, do the work. No one will finish your living story or personal story for you if you want to do that. If you want it done, there isn’t an instant done for you. If you want a legendary, I suppose you could just buy one if you had the $$$, but most of us, like me, had to work to get the ones I have. Like everything, if you want it, then do what is required to get it. Even if that means playing a 10 year old game. A game which is awesome BTW. Those are the requirements to getting those things so either do them or do without IMO.

tl;dr Do what it takes to get things or do without.

I like the non combat things as well. There are plenty if you just look for them.

Adventures in HoT
Building Legendary Weapons
Finishing Wardrobe Collections
Activities – Sanctum Sprint
JP’s
And tons of achievements that require no combat.

Don’t get me wrong I like the whole thing. Combat and no combat. But I still have many achievements that require no combat so you really just have to look for them.

Scythe, 6K gold

I dont care about the rarity of this item, the problem is that there are only two copies available to the community with no other methods of acquisition. I’ve been active since beta, but that wasnt enough to assure acquisition of the scythe.

Now, if there was another normal scythe in the game I wouldnt be upset about this, it could cost 125000 gold for all I care, but sadly, this is the only normal scythe in the game, and regardless of how expensive it is, only two people can be obliged. It would cost me more than 2 years of intensive grinding to get that gold, what guarantee do I have that the scythe offer will still be there

What it seems you cannot accept is that there are seasonal items. They are there, then they go. That is life. Even gaming life.

Those seasonal or unique items sold later, in gaming life or real life, have a limited amount available. What good does it do to get worked up about it?

I think it is perfectly fine to ask Devs to help make a way for it to be available, but you should also be willing to accept it if the answer is no.

I think it is a good thing that items like The Scythe are so rare and costly.

Just because the cost is astronomical, doesn’t mean it isn’t available. If you want it, you have to work for it.

I don’t get the mentality, “Everything should be easy for me.” I’m not trying to be rude to anyone, but if you don’t have to work for something you want, what’s the payoff? What skin or weapon or anything else is all that special if it’s always obtainable with minimal effort?

I worked my behind off to make my legendaries. I farmed like crazy to get all the ambrite weapons. I played WvW which is not my thing at all to get my Tribal Armor.

And just like in real life, if something will forever be out of my reach, I just have to settle for what I can obtain.

Why did ArenaNet abandon Elder Dragon bosses

Personally, I am happy for the shift to something other than dragons.

As a player of GW1 since almost the beginning, I enjoyed all the stories, because they were personal and you were up against people/creatures/monsters that you could understand on some level. You could face them squarely.

The Elder Dragons, while cool in concept, are something that a character cannot fully fathom. They are entities with power and history beyond imagining. Scarlet, for all her flaws, was more personally engaging to us as players and to the characters in the story.

I enjoyed the elder dragons, but like many others have said, they are getting stale. I, for one, am glad to move on to a new big bad.

Primodus Outs Faren: Primordus provides evidence that Faren is a fake noble through his converted Whisperer’s agents minions.

Phoenix or Fireball: The elementalist expansion.

Purposefully Ostracized Facet: There once was another Facet in Glints lair but the other Facets couldn’t stand it’s attitude so it was shoved out. That is why we do not have the Facet of Arrogance in game. But it has been laying in wait and will be the big bad of the expansion.

Pigs on Flying: Stop saying that. We don’t.

P####d Off Forgoten: All the creatures that should have been included in game by now from GW and were actually passed over for new dumber creatures, will be back and with a vengeance. “We’re back and we’re mad. Race dependent.

Human: Any unusual, seldom-used, American/English/Australian name. All have the same last name for consistency. Albion, Yeriel, Quinn, Lochlyn

Norn: Usually all typical old Norse names for the first name and a combination of old Norse words to form a last name. Sigrid, Dainn, Yngvarr

Charr: I try to keep them discriptive like the Charr names in game. Sirocco Emberwind, Snowwight Driftborn

Assura: At least a double consonant and one word. Oomann, Punnk, Rhizz

Sylvari: All old Welsh/Irish/Celtic names for both first and last. Most Sylvari in game have only one name, but I prefer two. Morlyn, Ianto, Heilyn

yall are getting distracted by great drops versus crappy drops.

regardless of what drops, there is too much item/inventory management you literally have to spend like 15-30 minutes cleaning up full bags.

open all these containers
salvage all this
consume all luck
keep all that
npc all that
tp all that
put this in bank

Its a big hassle

Are you exaggerating or does it really take you that long? My three mains have the max amount of bag slots you can buy, all with 20 slot bags. When my inventory fills up it only takes me three or four minutes to handle all of what you have above.

When the solution to a problem in a social gaming genre such as an MMO is expressed, in whole or part, as, “dont make friends,” in the game, there is an even bigger problem than the one meant to be solved by the presented solution.

Good thing that’s not what’s going on here. With or without linking, people — including WvWers — have always transferred worlds. That doesn’t mean folks cannot stay friends or make new ones. TC has been hemorrhaging players for months and months and I still raid & fractal with folks.

This. We have friends and guildmates on different servers and when our servers are fighting each other it is all in fun. This is a game.

Didn’t you ever play board games? Did you only play these with strangers? WvW is a competitive game. If you win battles, great! If not, it’s still a game.

I don’t know why GW2 gets so much white knighting. Of course the game doesn’t sucks, but right now it suffers from bad management, staleness and overall lack of polish…

We get one patch every 2-3 months, and most of times it’s more of a miss than a hit (Might Phantasms anyone?). It is sad that even a backwater game like Secret World Legends managed to do more in just 2 weeks than what the devs have done with GW2 since HoT launch… And I’m not speaking in terms of content, but in keeping in touch qith the comunity and showing they care about what they think.

The game would be in a much better state or people would be happier if Anet was more honest and straight with what goes on with development, or actually putting to use the Colaborative Development Initiative that’s been dead for a long time…

It isn’t “white knighting” because someone doesn’t share your opinion.

It wouldn’t be any more correct for someone to say that you are acrimonious or a black cloud because you feel the way you do.

tl/dr. Don’t call people names because they don’t agree with you.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_Wars
“Guild Wars is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG)”

The wiki also got recently changed on April 27th to show MMORPG where it has been shown as competitive/cooperative online rpg.

lol
Because there’s no such thing as a “CORPG”.
That’s a term coined by anet to make GW1 stand out.

By that definition, there’s no such thing as stainless steel (a termed coined by a company attempting to pass off “silverware” not made of silver). Every modern term, including MMO, started as someone’s idea of how to label something that they thought important.

MMO has become a catch all for any game that allows an arbitrary number of people to play at any given time. That’s the part that GW1 includes — there’s no limit for sign ups.

But in practice, people play MMOs to share maps with massive amounts of players. GW1 can’t do this. Most maps only allow 8 people (with exceptions of 4, 6, and two with 12).

That’s why ANet called it a Cooperative game rather than an MMO — not to “stand out,” but to temper people’s expectations of the gameplay.

Is that your deduction, or do you have a quote, because I never heard them say that.. Or I might’ve forgotten. If the gw1 wiki talk/discussion on the subject is any indication, it seems that it used to be competitive, before it was cooperative.

No, IWN is correct. They did call it that. I can remember it as well. I’m not to say I remember where I heard it. It was years ago.

GW had different modes as well. They had PvP, GvG and PvE. It is just that in PvE it was all instanced and only up to 8 players could be in an instance except in a couple of the elite dungeons where you could party up to 12 people.

GW had a competitive and a cooperative side. It was never a true MMO that is why they came up with that new term. Again, I cannot recall where I heard/read it, however.

The probelm with loot in the game

jheryn.8390

There’s nothing exciting about it.

Regular, fine, masterwork, and rare equipment merits as trash to be salvaged, and mostly everything can be crafted or bought with some sort of currency. Face it, the only decent loot in this game comes that can’t be bought with gold are crafting materials or items you grind for (e.g. ascended items bought using map specific tokens) or skins. Bag slots are used to hold the sheer amount of garbage loot so you can play without hitting the NPC. Does anyone see anything wrong with this?

I propose to reconcile the equipment / sigils / runes in this game.

  • Any equipment masterwork or below has no business in this game. Delete them and make rare equipment the standard (but don’t call it rare).
  • Delete minor and major sigils and runes. and remove the level /rarity requirements of superior runes and sigils.
  • Add exotic equipement / ascended equipement / legendary equipment / superior sigil drops that are untradeable and have something unique about them. Like a piece of equipment that only has one stat, or have an uncommon ability (e.g. increased damage vs a certain pve mob – by the way, those sigils should be deleted as well)

For new players this is all kinds of no good.

For vets, like myself who haven’t raced to max my magic find, I still want the essences luck to drop.

For people with maxed out magic find just think of the blues and greens as mat producers.

Everyone has their own opinion of “grind” but when it comes to making ascended armor/weapons, I don’t look at it like grind but as working toward what I want.

What if racial skills were the same between races, except for aesthetics? Like the HoM pet skins.

Give every race the same number of racial skills, that do the same thing, but with different names and animations. Thus, for example, the sylvari Summon Sylvan Hound, human Hounds of Balthazar, asuran Summon 7-Series Golem, charr Warband Support, and a new norn racial skill (since they have no elite summon racial skill) all summon an NPC that has the same exact stats and skills, but different names and appearance.

Thus there’d be no balance difference between races and at the same time the skills can be improved to matter/be effective in PvE/WvW.

^This. The end.

If it’s offensive spirits mesmer already have this kind of gameplay. If it’s support spirits there is already some of this in the mesmer traits and above all we got rangers spirits that act accordingly. The reality is that a ritualist spirit spammer gameplay would be horrendous in PvP being either OP or totally ignored like what we have with the turret engineer.

All in all there would be nothing new in regard of gameplay with a ritualist spirit spammer.

Mesmer do not have the same functionality. Ranger spirits come closer, but the obvious, blatant fact is that both offensive, stationary spirits are not contained in the same class. Rit spirits were stationary and rits had to compensate for that fact.

As for your PvP comment. That statement is true for all classes and many types of builds so your PvP argument is moot IMO.

Now, if we talk about the essence of the gw1 ritualist, the revenant perfectly embodied it. A revenant commune with spirits, bind these spirits and act as a medium to keep these spirit in the gw2’s world. Most than anything, the revenant use the power of these spirits to fight, support or defend itself. This is what the gw1 ritualist was doing except that he was doing it in a different fashion, leading to a different gameplay.

What would be the point in creating a whole new profession that would copy a gameplay that already exist and step onto the toes of another profession’s essence?

This is way off. The revenant does not perfectly embody the essence of the GW1 Rit. You yourself said that the Rev binds spirits in a different fashion leading to different gameplay. The gameplay the Rit in GW1 used was also what made it special and different from other classes. IMO the Revenant is lipstick on a pig. It has elements of both the warrior and guardian and yet is not significantly different from either to make it interesting for me.

Arenanet tried to reinvent the wheel and failed catastrophically.

In paper, GW2 was supposed to be an innovative MMO, but in practice it was an awful, clunky mess.
These “broken promises” are an attempt to fix an unfixable game, by turning it into a more traditional MMO.

Blaming “traditional mmo players” is silly. The ones at fault are Arenanet and the people who bought into their ideas in the first place. Renown Hearts were in the game since Beta, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

It’s funny how you’re associating Arenanet’s mistakes and failures as hallmarks of traditional MMOs, when games like FFXIV are extremely succesful (even with a sub fee) while GW2 was forced to go F2P to maintain a relatively decent playerbase.

tl;dr play another game

F2P? Hardly. PFF is an enticement. It isn’t actually getting to play the game for free. The limitations for PFF are there for a purpose. If you want to experience the real game then you have to pay for it.

“Failed catastrophically?” This actually made me laugh out loud. Anet is still hiring for GW2 and they are coming out with continual living stories and releasing an expansion soon. Companies with failing games do not have the resources or willingness by their corporate owners to invest further into a game that is failing. They move on to something else.

The manifesto was a statement of intent. It wasn’t a promise or a legally binding contract. It was what they had hoped to do and nothing more. Times changed. So did the game. So too did their intentions of what they wished to do.

And as far as your assessments of “awful clunky mess”, “unfixable game”, etc. They are not facts. They are simply your opinions. You have every right to your opinions, but they are not statements of facts, and the rather large player base that still exists would refute you opinions IMO.

I’d look at what an MMO is as GW1 wasn’t one.

Address the points I’ve made~

Unless someone says, “I promise” or “I swear” they aren’t promises. They are intentions at best and wishes at worst. So all the people saying Anet went back on it’s promises, obviously have no concept of the word.

As far as time gated things, they are a good thing IMO. What do you actually work toward if you have instant gratification of everything? Add to that the fact that you can buy most of those time gated mats on the TP and it renders most of the time gated arguments moot.

It may have been your opinion you were trying to express but it came across as fact.

Which is irrelevant. In a debate you argue on the merits of your opponent’s statements, regardless of whether those statements are a opinion, statistical fact, or a vociferous diatribe. Squabbling over whether a statement is a opinion or fact is the argument of a plebian incapable of mounting intelligent discourse.

I grow tired of how many threads get derailed by petty arguments over trivialities.

It is anything but irrelevant because you just more or less repeated what I said. It doesn’t matter if he thought he was delivering an opinion, it came across as a fact. In other words, the merit of his actual statement. Also, debate is oral and even there inflection and voice tone play a part.

And you grow tired of it but it didn’t stop you from adding to the derailment. Because honestly, what did YOU add to the OP’s topic?

Oh really? So you and Djinn took the OP’s statement “This is ANet’s understanding of game” as an indication of his mystical mind-reading powers? Truly?

I mean, I’m not the brightest bulb but it seems to me the post was easily understood and required no clarification: The OP is salty he lost in PvP and then got his butt kicked in PvE, too. Now he’s on the forums complaining about it.

Was that so hard to understand? kitten .

As I stated, and you obviously didn’t understand, is that it is perception. What I perceive someone saying and what you may perceive can be completely different. So like the OP, you got bent out of shape because we perceive something different? Interesting.

I agree with you, although I said it much more politely, the OP was complaining about not winning in PvP and tried to tell him that Anet cannot fix player versus player so he can win. Did you not understand that either?

My question was about your statement “That is their understanding of ‘game’”. How do you know what Anet’s understanding is? Did you read it somewhere? Please provide that information.

To be honest Djinn, I’m tired of your permanent desire to find errors and false statements, while everybody who can read between lines clearly knows that what was written is an opinion or an impression, based on indicators rather than evidence. You don’t need to point out every time that something you write is your opinion or that you believe that something is like this or that. 90% of what people write in forums is an opinion. If you see something that doesn’t have a source or evidence attached, treat it as an opinion, it’s that simple.

Would it make you happier if I had worded it like this: “My impression is that this is their understanding of ‘game’”? Adding this to all the stuff we write wouldn’t make it more readable or easier to understand (no, I do not have evidence for this statement).

I don’t remember what your method is called in communication theory, but please try to stop it. You are not adding any value to discussions by doing this.

Thank you

Inflection, emotion, intention, innuendo and subtext are often very hard to perceive when untrained writers (and often trained ones) put pen to paper so to speak.

A person cannot blame others for they way they interpret passages of others. When you or I write something, we often know exactly what we mean. When others read it they may not.

I have seen many of Djinn’s posts. He is very factual and succinct. I don’t believe he was needling you or trying to punch holes in what you or anyone comment on. He is just getting clarification.

I think the case here is you need to look at your own writing objectively. I agree with Djinn. It may have been your opinion you were trying to express but it came across as fact. You may have seen what you wrote as having indicators, but I too and others probably didn’t. You knew your intentions, we did not.

As he and others have said, fun and relaxing are subjective. Even so, Anet cannot make sure you get to beat other players in sPvP. If you lose many matches in a row, that is luck of the draw. There is no way Anet can assure a win for you when you are battling other real people. They can gear the game toward players winning more than losing in PvE, but no where else.

Top 5 Beauty

1. Divinity’s Reach – The most city-like of all the racial cities. It is simply beautifully crafted in all ways and truly looks like a city populated by a race of people. My favorite map, hands down.

2. Frostgorge Sound – This map is a wonderfully crafted map with interesting places, and the most beautiful of all the underwater maps.

3. Queensdale. Most reminiscent of GW1 maps for me. Also, it just feels like an actual place. Beautiful artwork as well.

4. Bitterfrost Frontier – I love the giant trees and mountainsides. The hot springs area right next to the ultimate cold area make this a beautiful map to look at.

5. Desert Borderlands – One of the best crafted and most beautifully drawn maps depicting an arid climate.

Most fun to play in:

1. Silverwastes – love the events and the loot. The Vinewraith is a fun cooperative event.

2. Dry Top – Same reason as Silverwastes. These two maps have the most interesting and diverse activities of all maps.

3. Verdant Brink – I like the meta and the map combined. Events are varied, loot is good, and meta bosses are fun.

4. Auric Basin – Like the Vinewraith, the Octovine event is a fun cooperative event. Tarir is beautifully drawn. The whole map is varied and interesting.

5. Draconis Mons – Where else can you be Spiderman in a beautifully rendered map?

Something tells me that Balthazar has been ousted by Menzies or another entity who defeated him and claimed the role of God of War, but in a not honourable way, hence precipitating him toward his current actions. At least, it would make sense of his behaviour.

This is my theory too. His line “They abated me, they dimmed might light… But now they will see me.” indicates a loss of godhood as well.

Whether it was Menzies+Dhuum coalition, or the Six Gods, or some new, unknown entity is unclear. But it does seem that Balthazar has been usurped but, like Dhuum and unlike Abaddon, survived his overthrow.

This event clearly demoralized Balthazar and made him loose faith in his old beliefs – not just about honor in combat, but also the worth of his followers’ lives (he was a very pro-human god in the past, and cared greatly about human life as shown with the story of Kaolai, the Scriptures of Balthazar in GW1, and the Orrian History Scrolls). He’s become clearly apathetic and hellbent on revenge, regardless of the cost to those around him.

I agree with all you’ve said in this thread Konig. One little thing to add to evidence pile for Menzies is that his sword made an appearance in the gem shop. I honestly don’t think that it was a red herring. My gut just tells me that Menzies has taken Balthazar’s place by force or by admission by the other gods.

The other gods would not be in favor of him harming Tyrians. Dwayna loves humans and Kormir was human. I am sure they for certain would not be pleased with Balthazar’s current actions.

I believe we will be seeing at least some of the other gods in the future.

Worst Guild Wars 2 Map?

Tangled Depths – For the same reasons listed repeatedly before.

Brisbane Wildlands – The whole map is dull. Even the large skritt area that is supposed to be amusing, is not.

Southsun Cove – While the Karka Queen event is good and the beach with the tiki bar is funny, there is very little to do there.

Plains of Ashford – Like Brisbane, it is dull. There are some reminders of GW1 which are hard to notice, there isn’t anything of real interest going on.

Lake Doric – Just bad design all around with little to admire in the way of aesthetics. Now that the leather farm has been nerfed because of the clever way engies set up their turrets, it really isn’t worth frequenting. I still think it was a mistake for punishing engineers because they found a clever and totally legal way to farm.

All of this is subjective however. Some maps listed above as being bad are some of my favorites, like Dry Top and Bitterfrost. It’s all in what you like I suppose.

Suggestion: Guild Merchant Revenue

IMO I would say no to this because of the variety and types of guilds out there.

My main guild is a guild made up of friends who love to socialize and help each other. That includes our guild hall. We have regular donations from almost all people when we need something. Likewise we have some who are “in-game richer” than others. Again most give what they can the richer ones give more usually. But there are no dues, no requirements, no minimums. This guild is maxed on everything and we are relatively small with about 30 active members.

Other guilds have their own systems for getting gold from their members. Some have dues, some require minimum participation, some are expected to donate X amount when the guild needs something.

In any case, if certain people in a guild are not doing their part, large or small, then maybe they should rethink why they are in that guild.

IMO, what the OP is proposing can be looked at like a tax or like charity from Anet sources. If you belong to a guild I think you should actively participate not just leech or expect Anet to support your guild.

I agree that there needs to be more contrast between day and night.

There is some incredibly beautiful places that would be amazing with lighting effects at night. DR, LA, and The Grove would all be beautiful if lights from Businesses and houses in DR/LA were allowed to shine in a darker environment. Same with the glowing plants in The Grove.

Other places would be much more suspenseful and would be more fun in the dark. Can you imagine darker combat in Orr and HoT?

The day night contrast has been one of my biggest disappointments since the game started.

My hope is that they’d stop worrying about the “right” solution and get working on a “right now” system. Perhaps just displaying the builds, so you can manually edit to match.

This. Definitely this.

At very least, just having the ability to switch the traits and skills in a saved build would be enough for me. I can switch my own equipment. On several of my characters I have a power and condi build. On my druid I have those and a healing build. If I didn’t have to switch the traits and skills around every time, that would be a big help.

Additions to Material Storage

Thanks for taking this up Linsey!

I would love to see all of these in storage, but if I had to choose which items to eliminate from your long list, these are what I would choose to NOT make it into storage.

Rare Crafting Materials The ones I left below can be eliminated IMO because those that you buy for the MF, you usually know mostly what you need and can buy exact amounts. You don’t have to have them in storage. Others are things you manufacture or can spend easily enough. All a very situational and don’t need to be included IMO.
Mystic Crystals
Philosopher Stones

These two you cannot buy exact amounts (which is why I left them out of my list).

Ascended Materials Same as rare crafting mats above
Lesser Vision Crystal
Vision Crystal
Gemstones and Jewels

Lesser and normal Vision Crystals are drops from some achievements, and from bags. You cannot control getting them. Same for gemstones and jewels.

All the others, I couldn’t agree more with you.

I can see that. Although, I am not sure that enough of these items are generated to warrant material storage space. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see them included.

It’s about perception. If you create a system that players perceive to be bad, many won’t use it and you won’t get a dime from them. With a few minor tweaks though, you could be making your players happier AND generating more revenue, for what would amount to a very, very minor change in coding.

You said it right there! It’s about perception. Without exception, no matter what they do, some will always perceive the BL chest system to be bad. Many will not buy them because of their perception. If they altered it the way you suggest, then many others would find it equally as bad.

Obviously Anet is doing fine with what they are doing with the BL chests now or it would be altered.

That’s an argument that says whatever is current doesn’t need improvements. It’s an argument against ever changing anything. What’s the point of the forums if not to suggest better ways to do things? Suggestions that ANet might not think about or to let ANet know that they may make more money with changes.

Edit: the fact that ANet has recently made several changes to the blc drops suggest that they are not happy with the money they’re getting from them and are trying to improve sales.

My argument doesn’t say that people should voice their opinions and suggestions. I think they should. I don’t think, however, that changes the fact that the BL chests are a gamble and you take your chances. They are designed to be just that. You can ask a casino to change the way their slot machines work and give a pay out every time you play, but that is both ridiculous and isn’t going to happen. They are designed a certain way for a certain purpose.

And no, the recent changes do not suggest Anet is happy or unhappy with the way the chests work. When they made the most recent changes it was not in favor of players. We used to get three guaranteed drops with one seasonal/festival drop. We would get four different items. Now we get three with a very rare chance at a fourth. That was not listening to players, That is actually giving out less. If Anet was unhappy with the way the chest works, it was in their favor, not ours.

All that said, I do believe that Anet listens. Items have been included that have been asked for like wardrobe unlocks. That is good and understandable. However…

I don’t believe that BL chests function as a random drop with mainly common/minimum use items are they way the chests are designed and will always continue to function that way whether we like it or not. Items may change, but the way the chests work are the way they were designed to work.

What I will add to this is that, we all know what we could get out of the chests if we buy or obtain keys. If you are not willing to accept what the RNG gods give you, then you shouldn’t play. It is a slot machine and you KNOWINGLY take your chances.

Additionally, those things you are speaking of have worth if you want to use them. It isn’t as if they cannot be consumed just because you have a permanent version.

Again, you know what could come out of those chests. I say there is no use complaining when you get what you know could drop. We all take our chances.

To flip that argument around though, wouldn’t more people be incentivized to buy keys in the first place if they KNOW that they won’t get pure junk items and can salvage even the most “useless” items for something else?

I do not spend money or gems on keys specifically because of the unrewarding nature of getting a pile of junk. No amount of “what ifs” in the good loot table will offset that feeling. If we got a token for BLTC items or if they had a vendor value, the “junk” status would be removed because I could always convert them into something I personally find useful.[/quote]

And you SHOULDN’T spend money on them if you don’t like the risk/reward. That is the right thing to do.

Don’t, however, underestimate the greed factor. Some people will keep buying keys on the slim hope that they will get one of the rare skins or permanent contracts or nodes. So I am sure Anet is making plenty of money off of these people.

If everything that came out of the chests were “OMG! Look what I got!” then why play the game. Just buy chests. Rarity, especially extreme rarity is what keeps people buying." If everything was good out of those chests, pretty soon no one would buy them because we would all have everything.

Again, I am sure there are many people like you who won’t purchase keys, but there are many more who will just for the CHANCE at something good.

^This. Of all the things to consider, this is not a priority IMO.

Disabling mob aggresivity for node farming

OP you get that this is more than just a farming game right?

Open world stuff involves… …stuff in the open world. Monsters, creatures, events, nodes, etc., etc. They are part of the game. Deal with it.

You wouldn’t go out into the middle of the woods to pick berries and expect bears, large cats, and insects to leave you alone because you are picking berries would you?

Mini Ho-Ho-Tron – I just have a fond place for Ho-Ho-Tron. I love the replica Ho-Ho-Tron’s comments during Wintersday
Mini Oxidecimus the Shadow Raven - One of the coolest looking minis IMO and I farmed my kitten off to get it too.
Mini Angry Wintersday Gift - This on just makes me laugh.
Mini Mystical Dragon - You don’t really have to do anything for this, I just have a fascination for Asian culture dragons.
Mini Jack-a-lop - What’s better than a bunny with antlers? Also, not everyone has one.

There's no reward for higher lvl content.

I think the mastery system should expand on offering class combat skills. We have too few skills at the moment to use and I would love to grind and grind and grind to have more choice in combat skills. Why do I think this will work? I think combat skills are similar to gear in that they are linked with being powerful and becoming more powerful when acquiring more combat skills. If you want to take this idea to the next level make it possible for us to customize the looks of the combat skills. That is a true Fashion Wars. Customizing the looks of the combat skills, the colors, the moves etc. I don’t want to be a fashion designer I want to be a powerful soldier.

Just an idea though and only my opinion your opinions may vary and I understand that your opinions are just as valid as my opinion.

I’ll agree to this somewhat. I would love it if we could work toward more utility skills. One thing I loved about guild wars was there was such customization of your skill bar.

I would love to have more diverse skills or even skills that work in different ways like we had in GW1.

If we had the chance to work for different skills it would not only give us something to do at endgame, it would make builds and our characters more interesting.

The map is amazing. Beautiful to look at and divers. There are places to just enjoy the surroundings and plenty of places to do events.

That being said, I don’t feel the need to go back there except to farm the daily orchids and unbound magic.

Nothing draws me back there for game play. It just makes me sad too because it is one of the most well designed maps in the game.

That is my problem with most of the new maps. Nice place, but no sustainability.

While playing a dedicated healer in GW was often fun, it wasn’t always lucrative so many people didn’t play them.

What made it worse is that many groups never got off the ground due to the fact they could never get a healer in the group.

I don’t think it is a good because I believe that many people would be missing out on content because they couldn’t get a healer. I’m afraid people wouldn’t want to play the healer role just as in GW.
