I bet you i could still kick your kitten even if you had Ascended gear while i am wearing my full exotic gear. The stat boast isnt that high to be a concern. Learn to play your class and you can kill people who are lvl80 with full exotics even if your not lvl80. Skill > Gear. SO if you dont have skill stop whinning about the gear.

There is no information in the link about fine infusions or them giving 13% increase sorry you been misinformed. Plus the ring is unique meaning you can only wear 1 of them not 2. Also whats the stat difference between a full exotic lvl80 and a blue wearing lvl30 in WvW? I bet you much much more then 13% but yet if the lvl80 has no skill and the lvl30 does i would have my bets placed on the lvl30 just cause Gear < Skill. Learn to Play. And Yes i used to play WvW with basic armour cause i have skill. If i die in WvW its either my mistake and learn from it or the guy was just better then me. At this point in the game i can take 2 lvl80 thieves and still win unless of course the thief is just better then me which is rare cause they all think going invisible and running around is going to save their little kittens.
I have skill. It disgusts me that I can destroy people in WvW so easily already with exotic glass cannon gear, on a Necromancer no less. This will make the problem increase. But hey, its not like I’m the only person saying this.

its 5 point per MINOR STAT, BEFORE infusion. Theres also the GLARING issue of % increase for berserker gear. 1 RING = 2% difference in crit damage.

Actually, it lets you join people in overflows easier, so you can group up for the dungeon cross server.

Been playing game for a week. got the game refunded but said cant refund gems. They terminated that account and serial. Feel like the gems should be refunded because they were for that account for bag slots and bank slots. Makes no sense to have spend $50 on gems for an account that is no longer active. They lied about this game. Those purchases were made in the belief they weren’t going to do a 180.
Anyone else been denied for gem refunds? Even with there eula stating refund is for unused gems I call BS. I’ll be going through my bank if they deny me again.
I have seen topics on this forum citing successful refund of gems. Try asking for information in the accounts section of this forum. Gaile usually replies promptly.

One dungeon in the game now provides not only better loot than all other dungeons in the game (easier access to cores and lodestones, easier exotic drops) it also became a requirement for any PVE player to stay valid.
Want to WvW? Better get yourself some ascended gear.
Want to FotM more? Better get yourself some ascended gear.
Want to grind your legendary? No better place to do it, apart from the gift from WvW.
Oh wait, you want to WvW? Better get yourself some ascended gear.

For PvE IMHO nothing comes close in DPS to a berserker dagger necro. I get 4k crits easily with auto attack, about 8k crit for the whole chain.

If you take the time to learn the swamp, all the traps become predictably placed and you know where they are or what to look for, where the shortcuts are, and can succeed on the first attempt.
This. You can see the kitten tripwires on the ground. Theres more of an issue with faulty collision detection than the actual trap itself. When you run these fractals a few more times, you’ll realize how much you’d rather do Swamp over some of the other ones. The snow one is seriously epilepsy inducing, and I’d really not want to do that one again.

Sadly, if you can’t grind often, this game isn’t for you.
They should have told me that before i bought it, not lying to us. There are other game with are better if grinding is all you do.
I encourage you to get a refund. It is very easy to get one on the grounds that the game is not what was advertised at the time of purchase.

about the “i cant see al content” i cant understand this statement.. i mean u can see the same fractals at lvl 1 or lvl 20, it is just a change in difficulty. do u want a game where good players or players that have more time cannot progress further or have nothing to do?

It just has a high difficulty barrier that’s all. Once you get good at it you’ll want to do it over the other Fractals. Way faster to complete.

I actually enjoy FotM, running with guildies and having a blast trying to figure out the quirks of every little map. I enjoy having the different maps and all the programming that anet had to do to put this into place, and this is how far into the release of this game? 3 months, I cant wait to see what they have 1 – 5 years down the line… to all those that are saying “oh im quitting, because of blah blah blah”, have fun with your next game. The long time players will be here, just like most of us were there for GW1 that long time between GW1 and GW2.

This has been the breaking point for me too.
I can tolerate most of the things OP posted but the breaking point for me is this:
-Luck gets rewarded, not effort
I’ve spent most of my play time (800 hours from headstart to today. also played betas.) on trying to make a profit so I can afford to forge the Dreamer. I just wanna shoot rainbows that’s all. I’ve made 100g during that time with a lot of effort. (I still don’t have the precursor) Now random people who spent even less than half of my playtime get rewarded double the money that I’ve worked up from headstart ’till today just for participating in a 2 hour long event, while I got 2.5g for the same event. Yeh. Thanks but no thanks.
And this isn’t just about todays event. That was just the breaking point for me. It’s been like this all along, I just was able to tolerate it up till now. How could you make a fortune? Get lucky with a precursor drop or get it reforged from the MF, or find an exploit and abuse it. (side note: I’ve reforged 216 exotic shortbows. nothing.) … or be a mastermind on economy I guess.
Luck rewards Arenanet with the most money via gem store purchases.

I’ve yet to start running the new Fractals, but I’m not too concerned because I know my guild will help me out. If you don’t have access to a guild, you could always try to start your own lower difficulty group.
Also, as people start to hit a (skill/gear) wall at higher difficulties, they may be more willing to take on people who haven’t progressed as far, as they would get an easier run from doing this.
Whilst this certainly would be nice, I wouldn’t count my chickens before they hatch. Here are the implications on helping a lower scale player:
If they are already at 11+ difficulty, the first run of the day will award them with a chance to get Ascended rings. This opportunity however, will be squandered if they did a lower difficulty fractal; they’d simply get a reward which includes no chance of getting Ascended rings.
Players that help you out will be unable to progress their own difficulty, which in turn, means that other players may need to help them out in future, to stick to the progression that everyone else is at.

We finished it in 10 minutes. Easiest Fractal by far. We hope to get into it every time now instead of completely laggy fractals like Ascalon.

Its rare seeing zerg fests these days in the regular PvE world seeing as how many people left the game. For me seeing a Zerg outside of Orr is a welcome change.

You can buy gems to convert into gold to pay for repairs. That way, you won’t have a problem taking part in events.

I’d be surprised if they are not taking metrics of our behavior and opinions. They aren’t idiots, we don’t know what pressures or issues are motivating them to change course.
All I know is it’s unsettling and disappointing to me to the point of desiring a full refund. Some of my in game friends share my opinion others don’t. I just wish Anet would detail their plans so I can make an informed decision about my future with this game.
That’s only speculative currently, with this new patch its really hard to tell at this point.

Actually, IIRC, only you miss out on moving up in difficulty. The other players will progress onto the next fractal just fine. They’ll have to get someone to replace you though.

With all the negative topics, just thought I’d say I’m freaking enjoying this game. One of my best purchases EVER. Bought it 1 week after it came out and still enjoying the hell out of it. Grats Anet.
I do share some of the worries of my fellow friends here about ascended gear, being left out of groups or falling behind friends (pretty casual myself), but you know? not all that worried really.
I’ll keep my own pace, and trust this is just what they say it is, a mechanic to help introduce new high end stuff on the long run without sacrificing players that play casually like myself.
I also keep in mind one of the best features, no monthly fees, if this where a monthly subscription MMOs, I would never have even tried it, but now I’m pretty sure ill be buying the expansions too.
Anyway, I guess I just wanted to give a thumb ups to Arena Net on what they have accomplished so far

You need to buy additional bank slots to bank these items. Arenanet doesn’t do things for free you know.

Took part in event (over 3 hours of play), got DCed and when I got back on the event was over. tried to change the server and world, but still can’t get reward. Will something be done about this? If so, who would I talk to about it?
I’m sorry this happened to you, but I don’t want anything done about it. If players got compensated it would severely effect what I feel is my character progression, i.e. everyone else would be just as powerful as me. This is vertical progression after all, not everybody-hand-in-hand-as-a-community progression.

Compensation won’t happen and I imagine a few hundred – low thousand people at the least will be quitting. Some people getting 300-400gold out of this event while we’re left with nothing but a 11silver repair fee.
11s is nothing. You can easily get that back by buying gems and converting it to gold from the Black Lion Trading Company.

I believe I am allowed to think like that too, this game has to many issues to simply ignore. Seeing as that its your definition of failure applied to this event, I shall apply the same definition to the rest of the game. A failure.

The weekend was a terrible idea gone wrong. Add a great deal of content to a game with lists and lists of compiled bugs. Add it on a weekend when you introduce a free trial. Add it during peak server times and make it one time only events. Recipe for disaster.
This certainly didn’t help. In the future, ArenaNet needs to be more aware of server and client limitations.
