Definitely. Megaservers aren’t working as promised, in fact, nothing is working at all, and instead of a fix we get a stupid option that is activated by default without the majority even knowing, that simply brings more problems than it solves.

I am a German player, I use German as my client’s default language, but I am NOT afraid of, nor to I refuse to speak English in the open chats. I even LOVE to do so, but thanks to that stupid option switched on by default I am simply ignored because no one who uses an English client can actually read my postings in the chat.

That, on top of all finally ruined all the fun for me. Of what worth are all my fancy skins if I can’t do more with them than standing around somewhere? There’s not even any RP left to keep me logging in.

Why not 4 seperate Mapchannels in the first place? One could chose which to show and which not, and which to type in and which not.
The whole block everything but… and get blocked by others you may even read if YOU turn that option off is building more barriers than it actually removes.
Some people won’t even notice it’s there and think they’re on maps with only their language.

Duh the whole megaserverthing is a true desaster and it is getting worse with every day passing… x_X

Anyone seen the recent changes to the chats Anet did?
(Could be intresting for EU players, but it still doesn’t solve the whole problem)
I know a lot of people who have their game set to English instead of their native language for several reasons. So either we’re forced to play in our native language or won’t even see it in the chat anymore, or we have to stay with the mixture for now.

I really hope Anet would get the sorting to work as they promised.

Yes, i have.. Can’t stop myself from laughing about it.

That was the first thing I did when I read that. xD
Not only that you can’t even answer people of a different language anymore if you haven’t activated this option because THEY may have it, and don’t even know as it is active by default, the whole thing makes things even more complicated imo. xD

I’d rather like to choose what I want to see and what not, rather than the “only this or nothing” option. I’d be in for German AND English, not only bacause a lot of people actually play in English even if they’re German or French or Spanish. Now I can guess if my question / answer is even heard…

There is exactly NO point in guilding up at all (besides that it is a) impossible and b) not a solution at all and c) Just stupid) because the sorting doesn’t work at all! Even the few still existing overflows seem to be better sorted than the megaserver maps are.

Plus in Europe you have the language mixup and people who think it’s their right to play with their native language around always. Well – that’s Anets fault, they planted that intolerance by first allowing language type servers in the EU and now frankly removing them completely. Off couse people do not want to accept that.

So the whole problem doesn’t only affect Roleplayers, it affects people from language based servers in the EU, it affects large bosskill guilds that soon will have the megaserver enabled on the bossmaps (Sparkfly / Bloodtide) Even PvP’ers cry to remove the heart of the mists from the megaserver. (Guess that’s for language purpose again, so might only be the EU)

So, to make it clear, EVERYONE but the casual PvE player IS affected by the megaserver. And it is their full right to stand up, voice their concerns and even complain. Roleplayers, as well as the French, the German and whoever else doesn’t feel comfortable anymore. Even servercomunities that are divided even in their hometowns now have that right. Everyone has.

They’re just going on adding maps to the megaserver.
I wonder how long they’ll hesitate to take Tequatl away from us, as well as the worm too.
They’re convinced that everything works nicely… Well we know that it is not, but are our words of ANY worth to them? I don’t think so. I really lost my believe, yet my hope.

So once PvP is done and Tequatl is gone this limits my playing time to 15 minutes a day it takes to complete my daily, and nothing more, because I’m sick with what the megaserver is doing to the game, and everything else has not the strengh to keep me logged in if I can’t have RP if I wanted to, and right now it is impossible.
Not to mention the Gems I won’t need anymore.

Hotjoins are technically Custom Arenas, just hosted by us. The Reward Track progression limits apply to hotjoin and player-owned custom arenas. You can still jump into Solo Queue or Team Queue to progress without limit.

Sorry for the confusion.

Hi, is there any possibility that this limit could be removed in hot join but remain in player-hosted custom arenas? As a casual PvPer I have no interest in joining Solo or Team Queue, and it’s unfortunate that I won’t be able to progress even in Anet hosted servers beyond the limit.

Don’t be afraid. I’ve tested team and solo for the first time ever. I never had the courage to, but you won’t get flamed or stuff. Even on Team you can go solo and be added to random other users. A lot of people enter there right now.

Plus, by loosing a team fight you earn almost as much as winning a custom match, if you win a team you get sooo much more than winning custom. It’s a win-win thingy.

And if you’re lucky enough you can even find a nice group just as I did. We were all just casuals but we had tons of fun and we could even manage to win.

SO just go for it. It’s easier than hotjoin.

Just wait until Divinity Reach is touched as well. Then the last possible RPing spot will be gone.

And yes, it IS even worse in the EU. I paid 25€ to change servers. (A German one, to add that) and for what? For being put on the same map with French, Spanish, Slovenian, English and Players of whatever nationality else. And that happens on EVERY Megaserver-Map I visit. So the sorting doesn’t even work at all.

(Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against these nations, just the mixup of languages makes me sick! I chose a German Server for a reason!)

I don’t feel comfortable anymore.- Especially not if the same silly discussion starts over and over again every five minutes. “This is a Megaserver, it’s INTERNATION speak English you idiots!” “French people suck…” etc pp… I can’t hear that crap anymore really. There’s no friggn’ tolerance out there. That’s not what I wanted when I paid 25€ to change my server. That’s not what I am willing to endure in the future.

I wonder if I could get my money back to migrate to a US server? At least the main language would be English over there.

That RP is impossible under these circumstances and that the crowded chat doesn’T help, that cities should be untouched etc has been named often enough.

If there’s a lack of money, Add-Ons are a good way to make a LOT. Far more than the Gemshop could do while it is still possible to farm gold to exchange it for gems.
But with a lot of upset people leaving money will leave too. And right now there ARE a lot of people who are REALLY upset.

Suggestion: Spawn time (World bosses)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: kuscheldrow.6415

kuscheldrow.6415

Hi!

I just want to mention that the times for the usual appearance of world bosses are a desaster for most of the EU. Some are just plain stupid.

First of all, no one does the bosses in the middle of the night / early morning, not even during vacations or the weekend. Second, the Karka-Queen was used to be killed right after Tequalt fell, which was a good way to get it done with her. The 3 headed worm just ONE hour after Tequatl leaves NO space for preparation, especially if we are forced into mega servers soon.

There are people who actually work, or have children, their family and whatsoever.
They are not going to kill a world boss while working, or having dinner with their families. Therefore, I’d suggest a new schedule.

What I came up with is the following (Times are German times, Summertime active, GMT+2 that is I guess)

Tequatl: 12:00 / 16:00 / 20:00
Karka-Queen: 12:30 / 16:30 / 20:30
3 Headed Worm: 14:00 / 18:00 / 22:00

That’d be fair times, plus it would leave enough space for guilds who care to summon the bosses for themselves. So everyone had a chance to get to them if they want, pupils, mothers, fathters, part time or full time workers, those who are on vacation and whatever.

What do you think about it? :O

Just wait until Divinity Reach is devoured by the Megaserver too. I bet some people (those who spend their evenings in DR) didn’t even notice the changes that took place already. As soon as they’ll experience it too they’ll follow our begging soon enough.

Although I’m already certain that we could beg on our knees until we starve, nothing would change anyway. It’s adapt or gtfo as usual…

As for a global RP-chat: No way, no thanks. First of all, with 500+ people using that chat you can’t possibly do RP at all. Especially not being in different areas etc pp. Second, a global chat would invite even more trolls, or LFG stuff whatever just because it’s global. Plus the flames for everyone stepping in and asking “What’s the RP chat for?” And finally, we do not need that!
I’d rather love a way to assign contact groups to your friends list, and chatcolors to that specific groups to recognize them better in all the spamming going on. But that won’t happen anyway.
I mean it’s simple, the reasons for logging in are being cut shorter day by day. Dailies are now done in 15 minutes, if even, with all that acbound stuff + Crafting levels on max you have everything you need, No need ot farm anymore, dungeons get boring if you do them everyday, same goes for fractals, once the PvP traits are done and there’s no living story around there’s not much left to do for the so called endgame. Not to mention that the daily Tequatl kill will be gone as soon as Sparkfly Fen is devoured by the Megaserver too. RP is impossible so… With all the pretty skins there’s nothing left to do than standing around, and that is nothing more than wasting time, which you could, and should spend on more important things or hobbies where you are even acknowledged.

Yeah first of all megaserver should be removed from cities and it should even STAY removed. Not only for RPing purposes, but to keep server-comunities together.
There is no point in more people in a city. Everything you can do there can be done on your own (except RP ^^) or be asked for in guilds / friendlists.
There is no point in mixing languages in those areas where you usually spend your time crafting and / or chatting or whatever.
It rather destroys the RP-environment.

I don’t care for the outside maps, but Megaserver in cities is just awful.

Divinity Reach stil seems to belong to certain servers, Gendarran plus overflow too, THe other cities, heart of the mists, Southsun Cove e.g. are already devoured by the Mega-Server thingy.

Pro’s:
Finally there is life in the Mapchat!
Cities seem more vivid

Con’s
As a roleplayer you’re trolled right away
Emotechat is spammed with auto emotes and stuff like that, no RP possible
People are spread all over different maps, ignoring guilds friendlists, homeserver and what’s even worse: LANGUAGE. No RP possible.
The usual flames (and it won’t get better, rather worse) The Germans don’t like the French, the French don’t like the Germans and the English, the English don’t like anyone, everyone is blabbering in their tongue (which really hurts the eyes if it gets mixed up like this!) Few are polite enough to speak English, others don’t, some try to force them, people insult each other bla bla bla… The same discussion as on any international server, only here it is even worse, because we HAD a choice, we DID chose our preferred language when we created our characters or changed server, and now our decision is worthless, because it doesn’t matter anymore.
Static boss times…. it just doesn’t feel dynamic anymore to go by scedule…
Permanently contested waypoints if not on the map – this is one of the worst things anyway…
Worldboss organisation will soon be impossible, and worldbosses will probably be prestigue to large kill-guilds and a few lucky ones who happen to be in the right place at the right time
The new trait system for characters under level 80 is ridiculous! You did have a hard time joining a dungeongroup not being 80 before, but honestly, not even I, who is very tolerant if it comes to dungeons and the min. level to have, would not take such a weak lowbe along. Did you even TEST it? 6 Traitpoints on Level 60! (Equals 30 points before the patch) where you had 50(!) before. It is enough that you have to gather your traits in the open world or buy it, but the new arrangement of points is… well… blargh!
Townclothes tonics are a weak compensation. Not even dyeable. What was so hard to add a 2nd slot next to each piece of gear, to have town clothes in there, so that you could stil wear a whole set? I really don’t get it!
Dailies! Why do you split PvP and PvE dailies, and individualize them, just to destroy the whole system again and put it back to the way it has been before?

I really like the wardrobe… but beautiful skins do NOT make a game playable, and they do not stand alone. What is left, other than beautiful skins and toys? Exactly nothing special. Scedules are for school not for a game. Everything feels like fading out. And the feeling that we could beg and talk and ask for anything, and it won’t even be recognized spreads. I am still so shocked with how this ended up, I can’t even cry or something… Just take the megaservers back or at least give us certain maps for GER/EN/FR/SP people, even RP would be NICE! TO choose from. ANd if the system really has to come for every map sooner or later give us language based mapchat-channels, with an option to globally switch to the desired one automatically by marking it.

Well… I logged in standing in the grove on what I thought was Riverside (GER) and guess what? Everyone spoke English… So much for being sorted with your server’s people AND language.

Yeah, the cities are full again, yeah we did indeed have some fun. But No, RP isn’t possible anymore. The good point is, that people will eventually stop using the /em for RP (it really hurts my eyes xD Should have a brighter color imho) because everyone is spaming random emotes in it, the worse is, well… there hardly aren’t any RPers on these random-worse-than-overflow maps…

So server and subcomunities ARE divided randomly… This hurts the most, really. I’ll check the 13:30 Tequatl out today, but I’m expectiing the worst, really… So Bosskills may be exclusive to large guilds and their friends plus a few lucky ones that were there on accident in the future…

I really don’t get why people who (like they say themselves) are not even affected by the changes, or the concerns we might have step in here and try to convince us to just suck it up because everything’s gonna be all right and stuff…

No one knows. We do have the same right to voice our concerns as PvEers, WvWers or sPvPers. And we usually do not enter a thread about WvW ‘whining’ or whatever to tell you to cool down and just suck it up because it doesn’t affect us in any way.

Plus, a lot of peope hardly seem to read more than the thread’s name or a few lines of text, before they start writing. Some things have been said so many times before. Go watch it, read it. Then coment, or leave it.

A simple addition to the system, that would be able to sort RPers would not even hurt anyone. Or are you that roleplayphobic that you fear to have a bunch of RPers on the map you are sorted in? O.o

We’re not asking for an official Roleplay Server. We’re not asking for a Roleplaybase in WvW (lol) we’re not asking for a Roleplay-Arena in sPvP. We’re not even asking to get visual tags, that lets us stand out of the crowd. No one wants that, no one needs that. We’re just asking to be considered an existing part of the comunity, that has a few little needs just like all the others too, we just ask to be heard like everyone else too. Antd there’s no one that could make us stay silent, just because he isn’t affected and thinks that’s the reasion we shouldn’t be concerned.

WvW’ers cry for accountbound WEP, they get it. PvEers cry for accountbound Fractal levels. they get it. sPvPers cry for the end of glory, for easier sPvP ranking, they get it. They even get PvE themed rewards for sPvPing now. So who’d be hurt if we got a stupid little tag, that isn’t even visible other than to the Megaserversystem itself?

And before the “gtfo and guild up!”-thingy starts over and over again, go read the whole thread before you go on.

And, to mention it AGAIN. (uff… 5th time already xD) There are actually 3 unofficial Roleplayservers. 2 for EU (EU one and GER one) and 1 for NA. (There might even be a 4th, but I’m not informed about French activity )

I was really hoping to come back and at least see another dev post at least acknowledging that our posts were read. :/ This is disheartening. I know we have Anet employees who have roleplayed on TC! I’ve (quite literally) run into them before. Someone over there knows, without a doubt, that we exist. That sort of makes the thought of us getting the shaft here even more bitter.

Maybe they did quit their job already? ^^

I’d like to see some more encouraging words other than “Guild up!” too.
Some changes the new patch will bring (accountbound ascended stuff etc) gives us a lot more time besides farming mats, time we could spend on RP, IF we could. Otherwise it’d become very boring…

An RP tag (and those for other ideas) is a great idea, and one I support.

The downside to this is still not really knowing where you’ve actually landed. Are you on the shard with a bunch of TC people, or did you get shuffled somewhere else because that one was full?

A better solution to me is the aforementioned ability to SELECT which instance you are in once you arrive at a map. I would take this a little farther so that:

When you arrive at a map, you can check which instances/shards which are currently running. When you look at them, they will also list the number of players from each home server in each shard. This way, players can make sure they are in the shard with most of their fellows, or at least queue for it.

Furthermore, this allows people outside TC to track down the TC population without guesting. As an extra measure – the population from each server could be shown based on “effective server” which would list you as the server you are currently guesting to.

And finally, this allows for large events whether RP or PvE based to manually pick a shard with a low population.

Seems to fix a lot of issues really.

Very nice idea. That could help a lot, not only for roleplayers but for people who seek to kill Teq or the Worm or whatsoever.

Feedback/Questions: The Megaserver System: World Bosses and Events

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: kuscheldrow.6415

kuscheldrow.6415

Uhm… why is the three headed jungle worm only ~40 minutes after Tequatl’s death (given that the event is successful)? And why is that the case thrice a day?

Karka Queen is just as farmeable as The Shatterer or the Claw of Jormag, so the times is not THAT important, but…

You need preparations for Tequatl as well as for the three headed jungle worm. Given the fact that you want, and – said by Anet – still ARE able to play with people from your server (or the people from TS who can join you via rightclick and taxis) you STILL need preparation time. This will either end in a hussle, or in: Well… Tequatl OR the Worm… the Wurm should at least be 2hrs after Tequatl, if not even to guarantee people can kill both if they can only play at a specific time of day.

(And the Guild Boss Event is no excuse here, it will probably be used by massive kill-guilds for themselves only anyway) You know, gathering on TS, gathering on a map copie until it’s full and then start the neat private event…

I, for myself are in a normal sized PvE guild. We wouldn’t be enough to kill a world boss on our own, so we are basically bound to the ‘official’ times, which ar, in my oppinion not that convenient.

Thanks for the quick answer!
That gives belonging to a specific homeworld as non-WvWler at least some little sense. ^^

WvW Worldbuffs on Mega-Server maps?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: kuscheldrow.6415

kuscheldrow.6415

Hi!

Just when I read the new blogpost where WvW was mentioned, as well as the already known fact, that the megaserver system will come to the whole game eventually, just how are WvW buffs handled then?

Will they be based on the population of a specific server on one map, or will they count for people from different servers based on their homeworlds WvW achievements? Or will they disappear completely?

For example, if you play on Riverside and you come to an overflow or guest elswhere, your WvW buffs are gone. If you’re back home, your buffs are back as well.
So if the megaserver system is launched, and you move to queensdale to do the champion train. Will you only have the WvW buffs if you’re on a map copie that has a majority of Riverside players, or will they even stay if you happen to find yourself on a map with… let’s say a majority of Elona Reach players?

I think that question might be essential, especially for players who spend a lot time on WvW.

Third, a question: Do you think your suggestion regarding home instance expanding and whatnot would take less time to code, implement and test, than a single manual RP tag put into the many automatic variables this new system handles? I would love to see how it would be simpler.

Yes, I do. Why? Because Anet would have to figure out how to weight such a tag for starters. Does it take primary precedence? Secondary? Tertiary? Or does it come aaaaaaaall the way at the end as an afterthought (yes the dig is intentional)? Oh, and then they’d have to track all of that information on god knows how many characters. It isnt as simple as adding the flag either. The server databases would need that flag added into them first. Plus it’d be far easier to allow players to use the “join in” feature with players in your guild (if repping) as well as your friend list (if mutually listed), not just your party. Yes, it means you actually need to do work, not ask for anet to implement an easy button.

Converting home instances would take less time to implement or test because they’d essentially recycle code from other zones. It would not surprise me if there’s a specific isolated (relatively speaking) block of code for each server to dictate how zones are created, their capacity, and how the zone will recycle. As it stands now, home instances are ALREADY a zone. They’re simply capped at 5 players (I’m making an assumption as I’ve never seen another player in a home instance), and the zone collapses once the last person leaves.

I’m not saying anet should ignore the RP community, though I cant exactly blame them if they do. It’s simply that asking for you to get a group-targeted function before you actually SEE how this change affects you is kinda…..playing chicken little. Think about it for a moment. RP communities arent the only group affected by this. The TTS Community spans TWELVE GUILDS. At max capacity, that’s 6 thousand people who participate in large-scale raid content. How do you think we feel with this change? You think you’ll have a hard time getting 50-60 people onto the same map just to RP? Imagine trying to get a FULL MAP to do raid content.

Think of it. “your” maps like Bloodtide Coast or Sparkfly Fen aren’t changed on April 15th. They’ll only be if the Megaserver system works as intended. As a roleplayer who kills Tequatl at least once per day, I can perfectly understand your concerns. I do have the same. Buuuut…

As Anet is starting with the starting areas AND cities, which are each highly populated by RP’ers for reasons that have already been mentioned, we’re the first ones to be thrown into cold water.

I can only hope that this systems produces that much server crashes and disconnects that it has to be taken off again, because I don’t even want to know HOW you’re supposed to organize a Worm-Kill, if you can’t produce an overflow on purpose to gather your people on TS there. I wonder how this will end up if there are 3 servers that get posted and 15 Comanders of 3 guilds, each one wants to lead etc… Not to mention potentionally different languages, if map copies are full. Yes, that won’t be funny too, but this will only happen if the system is marked “working as intended” after the TEST. And we roleplayers are the first who suffer from ‘testing’.

Might be a little off-topic but…
If everyone ever wanted to know how much we can scale up queensdale champions, and how much time it takes if 80+ people are after them to kill only one of them, how much people are kicked from the game because of older computers and massive effectshows in an starting area, and how much people will still find that funny, here’s our chance to find out.

Might as well be some little fun in all of this… And no one can tell people with older or weaker PCs to leave game, the because their frames are down to zero because of a massive train. After all, it is a starting area, and things like this are no good advertisement for starters after all.

We could as well take it as granted to have champions that are harder than actual worldbosses like Behe or the great Jungle Worm, or quit farming them because the reward we get would never pay off the effort. May also be just another way to stop people from farming champs. XD

Roleplay in a MMORPG (which namely IS a Role Playing Game) should be just as much respected as PvE, WvW, or sPvP. (PvPvE / RvR whatever else for other games)
It is just as essential as all the other playing styles. And this does not have anything to do with wanting a server for kitten-lovers, one for dog-lovers or Mommies and Daddies…

We only ask to be seen and being handled just as any other type of player, regardless of WHICH type he is (PvE, PvP, both… Some are even WvW#ers AND RPers.) We don’t want our own server, we don’t want special rules or benefits, we just want RP to be accepted as the 4th style next to PvE, WvW and PvP as it should be considering that kind of systems like the mega server.

I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

Megaservers and RP

Tarnished and Piken, you are not alone! There’s a German inofficial RP server called Drakkar-Lake too! And the comunity is huge too, as worth to mention as all the others…

While I agree to something written somewhere above. Keeping the major cities tied to the original server they belong to. This would not only help RPers, but would keep the specific server comunities together somehow. If the Mega Server System had been running from the start, comunity development would have taken another way.

Forcing another direction of comunity development by adding such a system later on leaves a sour taste imo. It somhow feels like being labor-rats for a very late beta test… A lot of poeple loved GW2 for what it was. Changing the whole game while it is already running feels like… well… “Nothing is for sure, if the devs decide that they don’t like this or that anymore… be prepared, it’ll be gone or changed for good…” I don’t think that this is a way to keep players.

Oh yes and again, roleplaying should be as much respected and being seen as activity than running dungeons, doing champtrains, casual exploration, AP hunting, PvP and whatever else, and thus should as much be respected in the algorythm of the mega server system. The easiest way to not consider 24/7 chatters as RPers would be a tag option. It would really feel good to see Anet doing something about it. Otherwise my motivation falls continousely.

Why would you want anything but Glowing Red eyes ?
Im prob gonna get this one on my charr.

Because my eyes are in a bright green. My Sylvari (main) glows in a bright green, his weapons glow in a bright green, his armor and backpiece does. PLUS his hair is RED… It would look a loooot better if the glowing and these clolored portion of the skin would match hins glowing and tattoo color. (which is green, who’d have guessed?)

Then theres another good point: Individuality!
If everyone has it in red… weeell… reminds me of Aion Asmodians in rage mode… xD

New Race

Eeew Hylek… xD We should export them to France to give them a reason.

I’d be in for Largos if there was a new race.

I don’t like playing a boring human, nor a norn. Asura ar all right but to small for my taste. I hate not being able to see other’s names or more than the knees of a norn. Nyeh… Charr… Well… Whoever likes them shall do so. Some Charr NPCs are quite cool but still… To me, human/animal mixtures, creatures or whatever are VERY STRANGE. I’m very strict if it comes to furries or anything that comes near to that term, and Charr are. I’d never condider playing something like that, and I’d never do so with Kodan or some eagleheads.

Yes, Largos are humanoid too, but they seem very intresting too. They could even have a whole realm unterwater, a whole starting area that’s mostly underwater, some reagions that finally gives the abillity to fight underwater some sense. I mean… there is ONE fractal that is under water, ONE dungeon path that is partially under water. A few hearts that are, and off course the underwater killer daily… Pretty much too less for such a great feature imho.

Adding all of this together, I only play Sylvari. Sylvari were the reason I actually considered playing GW2, and I got totally tied to it during the beta. (In fact I’ve been greatly dissappointed that I HAD to play a human in the first beta) They are unique, and I LOVE plant themed creatures. <3 (No I’m not from GREENPEACE xD) I even wish there was more racial clothings (for all races)

To sum it up: I still think Tengu are the most likely race to ever make it into the game. There’s a gate in Caledon Forest, and another one in Lion’s Arch. They clearly lead to the realms of the wind (or however it is called) and there’s a huuuge place on the map, where the starting area could go, and right south of it there’d be enough space for a city too. Plus, the Tengu are often mentioned, you see them ingame, you can intract with some, and there’s still the statement that they’ll show up and interact with the rest of Tyria if they see the time is right for them to do so…

Dont want to divert the topic of the Megaservers effect to RP too much, but i have to say. Its long past due that the RP community gets something without two other things taken away from them. Still waiting to hear hopelessly about any solution to that fateful decision about blocking off uninstanced Salma for example, and that was almost a year ago now, even though there was a show of dev understanding of the issue it caused.

Just saying that looking at this thread, i have a dreadful deja-vu.

Salma isn’t blocked.
There’s still a way to get in, even without any class specific buffs or any tools. There were two ways before they started blocking. One of these two still works, although you have to be careful and use the exact spot.

An RP flag (that would be visible to others, and also determine which megaserver you end up on) would be great.

And a RP chat, which will hold all emotes and messages if you’re in “RP mode”.
It should function like the normal /say chat and emote messages, just with the difference that you can either hide this chat or any other chat.

All together with a different chatcolor than plain white it would be perfect, yes. , But obviousely never going to happen as anet ignores RPers strictly…

But it can’t be a goal to have rpers filling their friendlists with non-friends, joining guilds for the server-purpose only or always ask around if they just want to dive into RP as they’re used to. This will only make bubble and group RP even worse…

Well not to mention that most RP guilds have their own story and purpose and aren’t open to people who don’t belong there at all. :S

That appears to be the solution they’re expecting, yes. I really don’t think considerations were made, the system was developed more for general PVErs in mind. It sounds like it works just fine when you’re running dungeons. Dungeon runners get paired with more dungeon runners, map completionists get paired with more people doing hearts and dynamic events, champ train people will likely get paired with more champ train people, and people who regularily do world bosses will get paired with people who do the same. But there’s no in-game representation for RPers. So the only thing we can do is “cheat” the system by friending as many fellow RPers as possible, joining guilds for the sole purpose of staying on the same server, and hoping that doing any sort of other activity won’t push us more in another priority in the system’s eyes. I personally don’t want to spend a night fighting world bosses and Orr Temple events, only to find that I’m now prioritized for that over being paired with RPers. That’s why I suggested having an RP flag that we can set. It’d be the only method we have of properly marking ourselves as RPers in the Megaserver’s eyes.

But that really kills my motivation. I always guest on Drakkar-Lake (Don’t always forget about DL! It’s the unofficial GER RP server! It counts too!) for RP. I switched to riverside some time ago. For PvE and Worldboss reasons…

I do a lot of PvE (Asc mat farming, Tequatl, other bosses, dungeons etc pp) I am in a HUGE guild of Drakkar-Lake. (PvE guild), and I am in a huge guild of Riverside. I run my own tiny account guild, am in a 3-man RP guild from Drakkar… so what does this flag me for, if guesting isn’t possible anymore? I could as well quit RPing unless there is a “highest priority of all”-RP-Flag or an option for this somewhere.

Anet never listend to us RPers, they could do it at least ONCE in a lifetime…

To maximize your odds of running into other RP players more often, you’ll want to make sure you’re on the same world (generally TC is viewed as the RP world), and in guilds with other RP members also on that same world. For example, everyone from TC currently will be set to high priority to sort together, same thing goes with people from RP guilds who are from TC.

We’ll continue to monitor, adapt and update the system as we go forward as well, for now I’d suggest seeing how it works once we enable the mega server system across all maps and then giving comments and feedback when you see it in action!

What about guesting?
Drakkar-Lake is the GER unofficial RP Server, I always guested there, as I (wasted?) 1800 Gems to change to Riverside for some reasons. What about us guesters now?
Guesting was such a good thing to NOT have the RPers spread amongst the winds.
Will it still be possible to guest, and will guesting change the priority of our homeserver to the one of our current guestserver?

My friend just got his FOURTH Sunless weapon chest! In no time! While he kills Tequatl far less than me.

Contacted support, because my account sucks if it comes to luck… They can’t help me. (Obviousely they didn’t even read what I was typing… yeh thanks for that one…)

This is getting worse than just frustrating, really… I just need ONE chest for that SKIN!
I don’t even NEED Asc stuff anymore… but I’m not getting ANYTHING while others… yeah got their 4th chest. This isn’t even funny anymore.

Either these chests should be tradeable, or we NEED a decent token system, if even only for the SKIN…

I really don’t believe in just having ‘bad luck’ anymore…

I don’t think anyone would be carefree enough to change its color ever again after doing so if that means losing any infusion applied to it, just for changing the color, as the MF always gives you a new and clean item, without any infusion applied to it.

And then… If you chose the right profession (leatherworks that is…) you can easily make a few of these if you have some vision cristals left. You can even make them a little later too, you get enough blade shards and stuff to save.

I wouldn’t try on another one, even if I like the uncolored version or red too, but being a 500 Tailor… well,.. no thanks… x_X

New "HUB"? What did I change server for? ~.~

in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

kuscheldrow.6415

Everyone is scattered around the world now,

I dunno, I kinda like the idea of everyone spread out throughout Tyria and not just posting up in LA chatting and not playing.

No, a central player hub is necissary to organize events, find parties for dungeons and fractals, to simply have a place where the community can get together and interact. regardless of whether this is in LA, a cultural city, or some new place all together, a centeral hub is needed

Exactly that’s my point.
The LFG system does have a space for world events, BUT it doesn’t allow more than 5 people or longer texts, plus it isn’t used other than for dungeons or fractals, PLUS… if you want to stick to your own server or language you’re lost anyway if you use it. People don’t seem to read what exactly you are looking for, they just click on a group and join, which is really disappointing sometimes. And you just can’t fill up a squad by using the LFG system, but you can do so easily if you have a certain place to gather and advertize for your favour.

As for the mini, it is tradeable, so I think it isn’t too bad. Off course it’s more fun to actually drop it, but people who really really need one could easily effort it on TP.
Everything else isn’t. And if it comes to the wurm… well I couldn’t care less.
It doesn’t even drop anything worth standing around for a few hours on the map to make sure to get the kill… x_X"

I mean it might be a great challenge, but to what costs? I’m tired of overflowing at the monent anyway. Teq is quite allright. Trying to get things sorted and organized is a good timekiller. Even begging people to help is… xD

Tequatls Weapon Chest...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: kuscheldrow.6415

I think it’s still some achievement to kill Teq often enough to deserve a rare item. It’s not that you wouldn’t have done anything for it. Maybe for some people it is: Coming before he spawns, if they’re lucky enough to be able to join the server, kill him and go away again. For others like me, it is: being on the map a GOOD bunch of time BEFORE he spawns, trying to gather the people and encourage them to join the teams, getting my own team up and running, bringing the people to TS for some advice and for emergency calls whatever… this is not just 15 minutes of ‘fun’ – although killing Teq IS fun, otherwise I wouldn’t do it at all.

However, it seems that you rather suffer doing this day by day, and are rewarded if you just… ‘step in’ to loot and run away again, which is sad… So I decided to stop killing him daily. I don’t see a reason anymore. Trying it once or twice a week must do, I think. I WOULD like to kill him daily, I really do, and I think I’d go on doing that as soon as I got that stupid chest (if I will EVER get one)

I mean… I’ve played since the beta… I haven’t seen a precursor from far, I haven’t EVER dropped anything ascended other than the usual material stuff or the Grenth/Dwayna receipes from boxes. (I’ve bought over 10.000 of them, just to mention that)

So my faith in ever getting the chest is low nonetheless.

Teq is a boss that like the Worm needs a lot of people. So if one half is fed up with hoping for nothing and doesn’t join the fight anymore, 10 percent got their stuff and are simply done, and the others left kill him for fun it’ll get hard to get the people you need together some day.

A token system would bring benefit to both sides. Those who are just unlucky in dropping, but see a chance to succeed anyway, even if they have to come back over and over again, but with a certain goal, those who kill him for fun, as there are always people who are collecting tokens, and well… those who are done for good doesn’t count anyway.

I, for myself would go on killing him as I love the event once I got what I wanted. I even have to stop myself from going there every day because I hope to finally get the stupid scepter if I only go twice a week. Although I really feel sorry for the others who are STILL organizing the kill 4-5 or more times DAILY! And this is really hard enough to REALLY deserve a reward.

I mean face it, you’re standing there for at least one hour BEGGING for people to join and fill the defence and canon teams for the event not to fail because most of them just want to grap the stupid loot and have an easy job.
