Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
How do you even remember those xahjfegrnja names?
They all look more or less the same to me.
To be fair they have sold new unlimited tools since this, and it had no special ability.
I’ve prepared myself to be underwhelmed, sick of being disappointed to be frank. I don’t trust the spin anymore, Anet is fast becoming the new Fox or CNN news of MMO’s.
You can’t really blame ArenaNet for what others hype up though.
ArenaNet themselves have said nothing at all about any information coming soon, it is strictly MMORPG.com that has been hyping up this new information.
Most likely information about the coming six months, coming in combination with Colins blog-post.
Well, to be fair since the shoutcasters are selected by ArenaNet, and thus they need to take responsibility for what they say, and therefore it is quite logical to not allow people that are known to behave badly into such a position.
I think you didn’t get my point – all I want to do is transmute norn ascended gear to charr, do you get it now?
Stats are not bound to armor.
So yes, you will be able to transmute the Ascended stats to a none-norn cultural armor and use it on your charr.
The lock-out is for the current match-up and the match-up the week after.
So if you transferred last week, you should be able to join regular at the start of the new match-up tomorrow.
It ends on May 30.

Yes, you can request a refund after the 15th.
Will Allie buy an account and play with us as a normal mortal player?
She already have an account, which she plays on.
The ArenaNet accounts on the live servers are basically the same as the user-made account, they just have access to the ArenaNet guild.
Believe me, I was VERY close to not getting GW2 when the Engineer was revealed and that steampunk and magi-tech elements were in the game. :P I stuck with it and don’t regret my decision since GW2 is still an awesome game, but yes, I HATE technology in my fantasy. Even stuff like blasting powder used for mining is something I’d rather not see in fantasy games.
So basically you just want yet another generic medieval fantasy game?
Even though it has been 250 years since those things started appearing in Tyria? And in 250 years in the real world technology advanced massively?
It is very unlikely that a world would stand completely still, especially if said world have magic.
Anet hates berserker gear yet makes the fights time based, meaning if you ain’t zerker, you ain’t killing it fast enough. Sort of a weird implementation if you asked me. I woulda made it so half pvt and half condition peeps could complete it in time.
If you are dead you won’t kill stuff fast enough either
Just a thought that came to me.
No-one begrudges people who played GW1 for getting their achievements. They worked hard for them. So why are people begrudging people from getting their achievements in GW2, through this cap?
Oh, but they did. We had rather much complaints about that back in the days.
But they don’t even delete the Zone-Chat, so why the Guild-Chat ?
Because you can be part of multiple guilds, but only chat in one at a time. Thus the guild most likely doesn’t load until you are logged in, and thus the chat for said guild won’t show up.
It is already possible to have the same tag as a guild on your server, so if it wasn’t an issue before I don’t really see why it would suddenly become one now.
Since they have not announced any of those three, it is very unlikely that they will have a general (public-ready) timeline.
Basing arguments on potential future stuff is usually not a good idea though. We have no information about if there will be additional chests and thus we can’t base our arguments around the fact that there might be.
Yes I know but that’s not the point. What I’m saying is, once I have reached that cap then it will take me longer each time to get each succeeding achievement chest. I might be only getting 6 to 8 points a day but that’s 180 to 240 points a month out of the 500 points needed for each chest. It’s going to take that much longer to reach each set of 500 points. If the reason for the achievement points is to work towards the rewards and to reward you for playing the game and logging on each day then the cap is counterproductive.
It is however quite unlikely that you would not have already gotten (or at least close) to the last available chest by the time you cap out on your dailies.
I currently have 11671 AP. Out of those 3511 comes from daily and 1139 comes from monthly.
That means that the vast majority of the points (7021) comes from other sources, which would suggest that I will most likely get more than enough points for the highest chest before I cap my dailies or monthlies.
And I couldn’t care less about how many points I have. If they reset them to zero after each achievement chest I earn, as long as I can still work towards the next one in line, I would be perfectly indifferent. Why should I and others like me have to be capped (and make my progress towards the next set of rewards slowed) because some people think it’s a race or worry about losing out forever or those who fret about some leaderboard.
You can currently get chests as far up as 24,500 AP. With the cap on dailies and monthlies you will be able to get 15 000 of those points from doing only dailies and monthlies.
And dailies and monthlies are far from the main source of APs in this game.
Isn’t this an instance though where they are basically loading you into a different map anyway?
It is indeed an instance, but it is using the already existing map for it. Otherwise they would have to store multiple versions of the Lions Arch map on the servers.
I have seen devs multiple times on the EU servers.
It would make sense that there are less of them though, seeing as they live across the pond and most likely can’t play much during EU prime-time.
poor Tybalt indeed…
if the LS is supposed to be after the PS, i cannot fathom why on earth they decided to use the current map of LA for all the PS quests set it in… it makes no sense at all
Because they currently don’t have the technology/resources to use multiple versions of the same map up on the servers and thus the Personal Story uses the currently live map.
Actually the only other repeatable achievement I can think of is the Salvage one, and guess what? It is capped.
Also keep in mind that no one is even close to hitting the cap yet, so it is not really that much of an issue.
Most likely yes.
The same way as if I buy a car for x currency and z months later it will cost y currency instead.
I’d have put it more politely, but I kind of agree with Kurrilino. I’m not really a fan of steampunk or sci-fi elements in my fantasy games, and would prefer not to see it completely take over GW2. (The sci-fi elements were getting more and more pervasive as the Living Story progressed, going from steam tech to magi-tech to finally holomancy, and it culminated in a giant flying spaceship/drill that even had computer consoles!)
You mean just like those computer consoles that have been in the game since release?
Just like how Airships have been in the game since release.
Does this explain how so many bugs make it through to live patches?
The bugs that come through are such bugs that would potentially be caught in Beta-testing (if at all), so don’t really see what alpha-testing have to do with it.
But then again, there will always be bugs in every thing released ever.
There is nothing that is released completely bug-free. And it is also more or less impossible to get something 100% bug-free without testing it on a live environment.
Why would you need to be rewarded for it in the first place?
Alpha-testing something would suggest you actually care and like the product, and thus making the product better would be more than enough reward.
Good luck, and thanks for your work for the game.
I hope you have found a work with less blatant hate for everything.
Take care, and have fun!
GW2 got the name as squeal of GW1.
I always loved GW1 because of magic and sword n board.
From what i heard is GW2 not called a cyborg or scifi game.
I woudl love to hear your defense when they introduce Nascar racing, laser guns
and space suits into a new Harry Potter well…. if there would be one.
Indeed.
And GW1 ended 250 years before GW2 started.
250 years ago on Earth was around 1764.
Now compare Earth 1764 with Earth today.
Does it look exactly the same? Do we still ride around on horses with swords and very basic rifles?
You also seems to blatantly ignore that there were sci-fi elements in GW1 as well. Such as the G.O.L.E.M and the Asura-gates.
Nascar racing very much exists in the Harry Potter world. So does space suits. It does take place quite recently after all (last book takes place 1997-1998).
Good luck, and thanks for your work for the game.
I hope you have found a work with less blatant hate for everything.
Take care, and have fun!
It’s an exploit because then you sell Eternity to get most of your money back, whilst keeping both the skins.
Since people get legendaries mainly for the skin, you basically just got 2 legendaries next to free.
Not supposed to happen.
But you have made those two weapons with those two skins and thus you should have them unlocked.
Just because you can get your money back for something doesn’t mean you haven’t made it.
What if I make something tomorrow, get the skin for it, and then in 1 year that item itself is worth way more than it costed me to make it? Should I lose that skin then if I decided to sell it?
Wouldn’t that invalidate the whole purpose of the Wardrobe?
You might not like it, but calling it an exploit is quite silly.
How is it an exploit though?
You need to build them both in order to get Eternity (unless you buy it outright from the TP, and to be fair, how many does that?)
what servers do they play on? are any devs on the EU side?
makes me sad to never see them/not be able to.
I have seen devs on EU-servers multiple times.
for god sake please let this not to be true.
Aetherblades have no space in GW2. I hope they are gone forever.
And before someone asks…. Space ships and laser guns have no place in a fantasy game.
If i want to play Borgs i play Star Trek
Oh?
I was under the impression that nothing forced a fantasy story to be based on medieval times.
There are many kinds of fantasy in the world.
Harry Potter is one, it is about magic, but they still have trains, cars, firearms and so on.
Science-fiction is technically also a sort of fantasy and at least one fantasy author (JK Rowlings) have won the Hugo Award, which is basically the coolest thing you can get in the Sci-fi world.
I am also rather sure that airships are not space-ships, and to be fair airships did exist (at least in theory) several hundred years ago.
Tyria is a world of magic, but you take issue with them having access to somewhat “modern”-time stuff?
The domain themselves yes. But if the servers are not hosted in the US (which not all .com sites are) the US can’t really do much about it.
The site in question is about 8 years old and if there was actually something anyone could do about it, it would already have been done.
Technically they are not really doing anything illegal, and thus you can’t really do much against them sadly.
After the feature patch have launched seems like a good guess for S2 news.
They can’t really do much against the sites themselves, since they are most likely not hosted in the US.
This is HUGE, especially for light armor wearers. Now I can finally deck out my necro with some kitten armor and something with legs… LEGS… instead of those ballroom gowns. Ready and waiting!
Hm?
If you can’t do it now you can’t do it in this patch either.
The restrictions still apply.
I still don’t see the point of splitting it into a hero’s weapon+gift when you can buy it directly for 300 tickets…
Because the same prizes will be available from the next Tournament, and thus if you don’t have enough for it after this one, you can still buy part of it and then complete it after the next Tournament.
This is why they are changes for their own custom arena, and not to the game.
And thus it would be more or less pointless as a method of balancing the game, which I assumed was the whole point of the OP.
Leaving balancing to players is most of the time not a good idea.
Sure the devs can be biased as well, but not even close to on the same level as the players.
Not to mention the whole kneejerk reaction we see on these forums for every single little thing changed. Those kind of people shouldn’t make decisions.
Of course.
But if not, what would be the point of fighting at all? Winning but still getting the same rewards as the losing teams wouldn’t really make people interested in playing now, would it?
That is how real-life work. If your team is good, you get better rewards.
I thought that more achievements = more tickets. Either way, kinda sucks for the ones that are in bad WvW servers
Why?
You can get enough of the achievements done in Edge of the Mists, which are not server-specific.
Yep, you need to finish the meta, which means completing 10 achievements.
Which makes sense. It is a reward for WvWing after all, and therefore you should be required to WvW in order to get it.
Maybe people should take into consideration that when talked about EotM in the CDI many players were against the idea of blobbing servers together for the real matches.
And maybe the plan was for them to do just that, but due to the feedback from the players they decided to scrap it, and thus they are now back at the drawing board, and thus they don’t have anything they can share with us yet?
Seeing as they most likely haven’t announced every single change they are going to make in the blog posts I would say wait.
But based on what we know, I would say success. They are after all adding stuff based on what people have demanded for quite some time.
New races are content, not features.
The patch on the 15th is a feature patch not a content patch. Thus there would be no reason to assume that there would be a new race in that patch.
Overly hyped, should have been implemented with launch. Will be disapointing. Nobody really shouted about ‘’mega-servers’’ or the other useless stuff.
1year and 7 months after release where is the so much wanted expansion?
1year and 7 months after release where is a single piece of meaningfull content?
1year and 7 month after release Tyria is still almost exactly the same as it was during launch(aside from the LOLdestruction of LA)
Nothing has changed and gw2 is now on life support. With so many new exciting games coming this year oh man guess whos gonna stop doing his dailys
Oh? I am rather sure that we had threads more or less weekly about empty maps and demands that ArenaNet did something about it. And guess what? The megaservers is doing something about it.
We have gotten expansion. But instead of getting it in a blob and finish it in a week or two we have had it spread out over the year(s) and thus having it “work” for much longer.
I have seen multiple meaningful content releases. Such as updated Tequatl, Wurms, WXP, Edge of the Mists, Fractals of the Mists and so on.
Not to mention all those other things released with Living Story, such as Kessex Hills change, or Lion’s Arch invasion and destruction.
Tyria is quite different from release.
You seem to forget quite a bit of things in your raging, but I suppose it might be hard to actually validate a complain if you actually talk about everything rather than ignoring half of it.
Which change is that then? I’m fairly certain you misread something.
Accountbound WXP.
And to be fair, I made a mistake in the earlier post, WXP haven’t been in the game since release, so it haven’t been asked for since release. My bad.
They should, because what is coming is not enough yet – just a first step.
Your list was about features that “players” wants but that aren’t coming, and the two I marked are confirmed to be coming in the next patch, thus they shouldn’t be on the list
Features that players want, but won’t still be here:
- New PvP’s game modes;
- Improved guild systems;
These two are already confirmed for the patch coming on the 15th though. So shouldn’t really be on the list.
