Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
Knowing about a problem does not mean it will magically get solved.
They still need to actually find a working solution for it.
Hehe indeed, nice one from that_shaman ^^
Server time does decide what it prime time. Everything exceeding 1am is not prime time for those who SHOULD play on that server.
So basically everyone not living in the US are playing outside of prime-time?
Wouldn’t that go pretty much against what prime-time actually is?
Indeed, rather nice one from that_shaman ^^ Even though it feels a bit early for most of us ^^
You are not getting punished, you can play whenever you want, but the concept is good the prime time should reward more than the offpeak hours, which are easier and therefore should reward less
But again, this is not a competitive mode and there should be no season nor graduatory.
You get punished. You don’t contribute as much as others simply due to the fact that you happen to be living in a place with a different time-zone (or simply work during the days).
And who are you to decide that your time is prime-time?
What is prime time for you might not be prime-time for other players.
Only a couple days left to see if the party size will be increased to six or eight with the April feature pack.
I just don’t see how re-balancing for one more slot is so difficult. It feels like they scaled down to 5 just to emulate WoW and LoL. It’s just sad that I have to revert back to GW1 if I want 6-8 party sizes.
There’s no denying from a pure entertainment standpoint, 6-8 would be more enjoyable than 5. I highly doubt there would be an outcry to go back to 5 if the limits were increased.
It might not be difficult. But it will take a rather large amount of time and resources, since they will basically need to rework more or less every single path of every dungeon in the game.
There is also the issue with the AoE-cap, which is 5 atm. If you could suddenly run around with more people than that in Dungeons you would be able to basically ignore AoE completely if you were the lucky one.
Depending on server zone [NA or EU], after given times [1:00am or so], all structures tick for half the points.
That way people who can’t sleep or just happen to be in daytime when the vast majority is in nightime can still play, and have an impact on the score, but it can’t be the same impact as daytimers because it just isn’t the same effort.
It makes no sense for the majority to run around killing each other during the day, just so that some come later and conquer everthing with Walk toggled on.
So basically just because people don’t live at the same place you do, they should be punished?
The game is international, thus everyone should have the same right and ability to play.
Well, there are some companies like wargaming, the devs of which told and shown what what they will add tomorrow in world of tanks. So I’m still waiting for Anet.
You mean those missions that will run for a month, which just happens to start on April 1st and most likely have nothing at all to do with April Fools?
They have also done exactly the same thing at the last of every month.
Or am I missing something?
There is no issue.
There is never a time where there is nightwatch everywhere.
The mini pack is not a return, it’s just the last day it’s available. But of all the things to be on the last day, BL keys? Really?
No matter what they had for sale people would complain about it though. So doesn’t really matter much.
They most likely have numbers and stuff that helps them set good dates for sales and so on.
But why would they?
I have yet to see any big game that have blatantly stated that they will have a April Fools joke, seeing as that would make the joke pointless.
Ah, @arena.net is most likely the correct one yes.
exploits@arenanet.com is the place for these kind of reports.
If we assume that a match at average takes about 10 minutes, that means 10940 minutes for those tPvP matches, which is about 7,5 DAYS constant playing. I would say that is absolutely enough.
3) Team communication. You can do amazing voice chat, like in DoTA or CS, or some stuff like in LoL. Or at least something.
I have yet to find a single MMO that have a decent built-in voice chat. Loads of them have the voice chat part, but most of them are also quite useless and people uses external programs instead.
People didn’t really pay attention did they?
ArenaNet did say multiple times, that what we would get in this patch is what would otherwise have been spread out among the Living Story patches earlier this year.
I would say they did make it very clear that they were not going to release an expansion or anything along those lines.
April Fools stuff usually loses their point if we know about them before they happen.
Have there actually been any major lore and story stuff hidden behind “raid content” though?
The vast majority (if not all) of the lore in the last Scarlet release came from the solo-instance after the hologram. Which could be accessed without ever fighting the Knights and Hologram.
We very clearly follows the Leyline. And it goes towards Magus Falls.
The cutscene after we defeat Scarlet, does however quite clearly show us the ley-lines rushing towards Maguuma passing Thaumanova reactor and going into the jungle (which would seem to be around Magus Falls).
A few questions.
- Can you use PvP skins for PvE? I hope so.
- Do you have to buy basic weapons/armor everytime you change your look in PvP?
- Can you only change your appearance when you have (expensive gem bought) transmutation stones?
1: Yes.
2: Nope, skins can be applied to any weapon/armor.
3: You do need to have transmutations charges in order to change a skin yes. These are however obtainable for free in sPvP and quite possible also in PvE.
https://guildwars.zendesk.com/home would probably be the best place for this, since that is the GW1 support, while this is the GW2 forums.
I’m really happy with any suggestion that they make the tone darker.
The game’s rating is one consideration, but a great number of players are older, and an entirely lighthearted story doesn’t feel so rewarding. Heck, I bet even the younger players would agree. Look at Courage the Cowardly Dog, Invader Zim, or any number of other dark kids shows that are popular. Kids can deal with dark sometimes.
There are elements that point in the right direction— the mourning citizens of Lion’s Arch are a good start.
The age of the players is completely irrelevant though. A rating is a rating, no matter if older people play it.
we dont really know if this will continue to be the case. Time will tell
I have gotten transmutations stones as late as yesterday for doing map-completion.
Those stones can be transformed into Charges.
And thus I get loads of free Charges.
Maybe file a support ticket. You’re not the only NA player who interprets “start of the tournament” as NA reset.
Well how could it be NA reset, when people from EU can transfer to NA?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to have it at the earliest reset when there are multiple?
Looks like only people who pvp gets rewarded. First you get free charges acording to your rank and now unique skins aswell if this is gonna be true. This seems a bit unfair to people who don’t like to pvp.
You mean just like how PvE:ers get free charges for completing maps?
Indeed, reading clear instructions can be quite hard some times.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/get-ready-for-wvw-spring-tournament-2014/
It does very clearly state very exact dates as to when the sales take place.
And how long have they been working on the precursor quest/hunt? And how far along on that are they?
Having a couple of people working on something when they’re not being told to do something “more important” for the LS or whatever seems to be the way ANet works. And yes, I do believe they realized they had a potential problem headed their way, and finally started to focus on these things they’d been “working on” for so long.
Not especially long, and not with many people. As far as we know they have had a grand total of ONE person checking out ideas for it, and now put it on hold until they have released the new reward system.
So Sky hammer being deleted soon, lots of qq’ing about that map and Spirit Watch gets some stick too, lets delete those as well.
Not as if there is loads of maps to choose from in sPvP.
But are those maps unpopular based on actual game-stats? Or are you just assuming it because a vocal minority is shouting about it on the forums?
Skyhammer is very much played more or less constantly by loads of player for one.
Yes it takes time to develop content. No, they didn’t just start working on it “yesterday”. Guess what? They didn’t just find out about these games “yesterday” either. These are games that are years in the making.
No, but the OP seems to assume that they released it now because of the release date of TESO and Wildstar, which is quite silly. Since those dates have not been known long enough for all the changes to be made.
Hm?
I might be mistaken, but I am rather sure that Season two started several hours before you made your post OP, which would explain why there are extra people online.
The PvE:ers want to get the achievements done asap.
What’s to say?
Its sad, I loved underwater combat too.
Anet have as usual caved into the negative/QQ brigade:-
Or maybe, just maybe, they actually had numbers that showed how many people actually played the map and how many simply left when they saw it?
Ah yes. Because all these changes have been worked on only since the release date of ESO and Wildstar was announced……
We even know for a fact that the wardrobe have been worked on since the account-bound wallet was released at least.
In a log-file somewhere on ArenaNets servers.
They do have to limit what is shown somehow after all, especially when there are people that have bought 100+ things in the gemstore.
So sPvP is pay to win now. Hopefully this will work so are important for ANet and get patches sooner.
In what way is it pay to win?
Can you somehow buy skills that are not available to other players with real money?
And yet those 600 votes are still a very small part of the WvW playerbase.
Way too small sample.
And stating that the “1/2 of the population” does something is very faulty based on that very low number.
There are over 3 million accounts for the game. 600 of those is basically nothing at all.
@Arenanet: Could you kindly offer some examples of unlocks for dyes, please?
What?
How you will get dyes to unlock after the patch?
1: Buy on tp.
2: Get as rewards.
3: Buy from gemstore.
4: Craft them yourself.
It was not the real GW2 login site, it just looks like it.
Had you put your information in your account would have been lost.
I wonder why couldn’t they reply in here after all the kittenstorm they were getting, instead of saving “the big reveal” for a blog post. I can’t even get happy/excited, that’s how much angst I got piled up.
Because if they did people would have whined about them hiding it away on the forums?
It is a FEATURE build, not a content build.
Don’t expect to get much (if any) content with it.
But then again, we also have the new grandmaster traits to hunt for.
Nope, not racist, but it did break other parts of the naming policy, which has already been explained.
Middle of the season? 2 weeks after start and 7 weeks until season 2 ends. Thats not middle. Thats right after PvE players will have all achivements completed.
sigh
I should have been clearer: “During the ongoing season”.
Better?
The point still remains that it will be released during the season, and thus the comment about not “making major changes to WvW during season” invalid for this season.
That was not actually what was said.
What was said was to hold on to your blade shards.
And soon after a post about spending your Heirlooms and Belongings before March 18th, since they would remove the vendors by then.
As for the trader, it does not seems to have appeared yet.
So.. because they said that they won’t do any major changes for WvW during the seasons, is it then safe to assume that account bound WxP is coming AFTER season 2?
Nope, seeing as the Feature Patch is coming in the middle of the Season and it includes some major professions changes I would say it is fully possible that they will release it during the season if ready.
For all you that wants it to be completely free:
What do you suggest ArenaNet adds to the game that will replace the most likely major stream of revenue that they are getting from Transmutation?
Or are you simply thinking that they should not replace it and somehow make the game survive with a major cut in revenue?
That was because Back to School wasn’t a April Fools release.
We had no news about SAB (or anything) before last April Fools either.
They never announce April Fools things.
Since that would defeat the whole point of them.
And yet if they have done the sales after the announcements, people would have complained about how they conveniently added skins into the store so soon after they announced a way to duplicate them.
No matter what way they had chosen people would have complained about it.
Because it is not ready.
Except data mining has revealed that it is.
Data mining have often revealed stuffs months before release, and even revealed stuff that wasn’t released at all.
Just because parts of it is in the code doesn’t mean it is ready.
And if it was ready back when it was first found (several months ago btw) why haven’t they released it yet?
