To be fair you probably have just as high chance to get an Ascended chest from the Champion Boxes as you have from the Maisma events, and thus it is most likely a higher chance to get it by doing the Knights (which gives 6 of the boxes if you succeed).

How is it destroyed?

I have personally seen and completed Scarlet at least one time after each patch (with exception of the first, due to the fields not spawning), and twice today.

So clearly it is still fully possible to complete it.

Actually they do.

It takes much longer for 40 people to down a Knight than it takes 20 people, due to it having much higher health when there are 40 people nearby.

There are many game breaking issues in wvw that do not get patched up immediately. Instead, they are pushed back until normal updates are released.

In the past, players were able to go to certain spots on a tower/keep and be able to jump inside. There were issues with orbs and certain pve items doing insane damage. All of these glitches/bugs were not patched up immediately.

Most recently, there is a bug with a necro heal skill that would allow 1 necro to do as much damage as a ram. Fully upgraded gates were taken down in matter of seconds with a group of necros abusing this glitch. Some servers that abused this glitched saw their scores skyrocketed when the glitch was made public. Anet developers found out about the glitch, and instead of patching it immediately, the fix was put in an update that wouldn’t be pushed out until like a week later.

As you can see, not all game-breaking bugs are prioritized the same..

You are assuming that everything is as easy to fix. Which is quite clearly not the case.

Another thing is that knee-jerked reactions to PvP-type content is usually not a good idea, and thus they spend a bit extra time to find a good fix for it instead of just doing something superfast that might potentially break stuff even more.

People sees what they want to see clearly.
Sad that some parts of the world still haven’t evolved enough to stop seeing homosexuality as an issue.

Hotfixes are released when they are ready, due to fixing issues that needs fixing.

Or would you be just as keen to have them wait a few days extra with a patch that fixed an issue that made lords permanently immortal in WvW?

It’s actually two months (four teams with two weeks per update). But you are making a big mistake here. You are assuming they have more than one QA team testing the updates as they’re rolled out. That’s a baseless assumption. You shouldn’t hang your argument on baseless assumptions.

Each team works on two releases in a row, thus one months worth of Living Story, thus the other teams have 4 months time to work on their own content.

You are making a big mistake here.
You are assuming they only work on stuff for 2 weeks and then releases it.

That is not the case. They have closer to four months for each update (due to having multiple teams working at the same time on different releases).

You are also very selective when it comes to your memory of GW1, there were quite a bit of bugs there as well, some that took years to fix, and some that still aren’t fixed.

The main thing is that no matter how long time you develop and/or test something, there is always a risk of something slipping through. Especially considering the fact that a test environment is not identical to a live one.

The thing is, no matter how much you test something things might (and will) slip through. You can never get a test environment to be 100% identical to a live environment, and thus you always risk running into issues not present on the test one, but on the live one.

I have played quite a few games with player-tests before release (both PTRs and NDA-protected betas) and they STILL have bugs and issues when released, so adding those doesn’t really make something issue-free. It just costs time, money, resources and hurts the game by spilling out information before it is ready to be revealed. There is always some kittens that can’t respect NDAs after all.

Making it get a sudden massive influx of magic would very likely wake it up, simple because they are “programmed” to wake up in order to consume magic when the amount in the world is high enough.

Mordy most likely assumed that this sudden influx meant that its “services” were needed once more.

What I do find a bit scary about that though, is the fact that it might mean it will wake up quite a bit more powerful than the rest of the Elder Dragons, due to that massive power-boost.

I really don’t see all the issues people have with the kiss.

If you had a relationship with someone, and you thought that your partner was dead, would you not kiss him/her/it when he/she/it turns out to be alive? I don’t know about you, but I would say that is a very realistic and logical reaction.

Exactly. Except that if they added 1v1 mode it would most likely increase massively, simply due to the fact that the game now “supports a 1v1 mode and thus should be balanced around it”.

That would possible have had some merit, if not for the fact that the backdoor have been there since the update went live. Not something they added in order to bypass “bugged content”.

The thing is some people want to be able to experience the story, but would be unable to do so due to having lag/too bad computers/whatever, and now ArenaNet decided that they should still be able to see the end without having to move/upgrade/whatever.

People have been complaining about story being locked behind group-encounters since the start of the LS more or less, so I really don’t see the issue with ArenaNet adding an alternate route.

But then again, if there is something that can be complained about, people will complain.

That is the real world. Homosexuality exists, and in most parts of the civilized world it is fully acceptable and considered normal. It has nothing at all to do with politics.

Actually I would say that the new change is something you should like.
Seeing as it “forces” people to split up, and thus makes completing the achievements (when not bugged) much easier.

Getting the Knightfall achievement by zerging them down one by one is (or well was) more or less impossible, due to having to move around between different spots.

Your memory is quite faulty.

The in-game store in GW1 was added in 2006, about 1 year after release of Prophecies and just a couple of months after Factions.

Adding a system like that WILL lead to people whining about how everything is unbalanced (this already happens when people try to fight 1v1 btw) and that will fill up the forums with threads demanding nerfs, which will take time from the devs that could be used for something useful instead.

Try logging in with your email instead (and if you use the account-name make sure to include the numbers).

The big reward for defeating Scarlet is one time per account.

There is a very good reason as to why there is no dueling in the game.

The game is balanced around 5v5 not 1v1.
Dueling would lead to massive amounts of threads with people whining about how X is much better than Y and how it is impossible to defeat A with B and so on.

But it is not a matter of opinions.
It is a matter of facts.

People can stop playing for a year and then come back. Thus they can’t just delete their character or remove the name because someone else want it.

A way to remedy this situation though, is to simply not use “standard names” that everyone else is using as well.
I made a character quite recently, and had no trouble getting the name I wanted for it.
Same with all other characters (have made 8 in total).

But what if someone with name X have taken a break for a year or so and then decides to come back?
Should he/she/it suddenly have lost the name they used on their character just because they didn’t log in for a certain amount of time.

GW2 is build in such as way so that you can leave for long periods of times but then just log right back in when you feel like it.
Characters and accounts don’t “die” or go inactive, unless they are banned.

It does however seem quite legit when they 1: are followed by several ArenaNet employees and 2: posts images before they are available anywhere else.

IT-support != Customer Service though. So you can’t really compare them.

You also have to keep in mind that they have several million accounts, and it is most likely more people than you that are currently contacting them. And they are only human, they can’t work at unlimited speed.

In normal cases it can take up to 72 hours for a reply unless I remember incorrectly.

To be fair most (if not all) of the council have shown rather major inability to rule and protect their city.

Changing said achievements might very well require redoing content.

It is very likely that this release were more or less already completed (or close to at least) when Marionette was released.

There is also this thing about achievements actually requiring people to achieve something, which is after all the whole point. Be it on your own or together in groups.
You don’t NEED to complete all achievements after all. You can complete the meta-event without doing all of the specific achievements by doing dailies, which are usually very easy to complete.

But okay, to be fair we should also count DE and the Pact.
That accounts for 2 Sylvari (Caithe and Traherne) while it includes one more of each of the other races + Human, Asura and Charr (as leaders of the Orders).

My math is not the best, but unless I miscalculate something I would say that there were way more non-Sylvari involved in the defeat of Zhaitan than there were Sylvari.

So you are basically demanding that ArenaNet does something because you can’t control yourself?

And yes, there will be mistakes made (or people changing their minds and then demanding that ArenaNet recreates the account), no matter how many confirmations people get.

There is also the issue with someone getting hold of your account details and would thus be able to delete your account.

I would say it was quite the opposite.
We knew that there were (at least) 6 dragons, but we only ever heard and/or saw effects (as far as we know) of 5 of them.

I would say it was simply a red herring.

There is no such option, since no such options is needed.

You might want to quit now, but GW2 is built in such a way so you can change your mind and come back in 3 years without doing anything other than logging in.

There is also the issue with such an option that people might use it by mistake, and thus lose out on an account forever.

The player’s and, as far as I remember, Caithe’s Wyld hunt is to destroy Zhaitan.
