Krall Peterson – Warrior
Piken Square
They do make mistakes and they don’t admit to them. Like Inculpatus, I received a permanent ban for gold selling because 3 of us guildies loaned each other money to get the Golden title. They reinstated my account the next day after I made a ticket but never admitted that they made a mistake.
So, it’s best just to take the reinstatement and go on.
To be fair the fact that they removed the permanent ban is basically the exact same thing as admitting they made a mistake.
Always assume that the things added with an update will be removed with the next update (as in two weeks later) unless you hear a more concrete date.
Aye, don’t think the permanent one drops.
It is however fully possible that they will sell the permanent one again in the future.

It goes in waves.
Sometimes you get loads of them, sometimes none at all.
I have personally got these kinds of mails from “Blizzard”, “ArenaNet”, and countless others, even though I only really play games from ArenaNet.
They send mails at random, and hope that the targets happen to play said game.
They might also do it less random by using mails found at pages that are discussing MMOs and/or specific games.
In what way is it bugged?
It won’t really help anyone just stating something is bugged without saying what is bugged and preferably post examples.
Haven’t we had more or less the exactly same thread every single time they have had a sale on the BLKs?
To be fair Zhaitan and Kralkatorrik also lived underground before they awoke.
And I don’t think she might necessarily be digging specifically for a dragon, but rather for the Leylines, which on the other hand CAN make a dragon stir somewhere due to the sudden influx of magic.
And the most logical choice for that would be Mordremoth, since Primordus is already active.
And the Tengu have been having Destroyer problems since before release.

And it is just these kinds of assumptions that make people shout about ArenaNet lying about how long something will be available.
It is always better to assume that it will only be available for two weeks.
And considering how these two updates are built I would say it is unlikely that the first part will continue after tomorrow. Seeing as starting tomorrow we will work towards retaking Lions Arch rather than evacuating.
I really don’t get why people are assuming Grapes will be used for the recipe.
We already have actual wine in the game, it is much more likely that it will require those than a couple of Grapes.
Taxes.
Simple as that.
well.. we don’t.
Seriously …how can u say they have the same background and stories when u just learn the background from few chats with Taimi as compared to the whole personal storyline with those iconics?
So what did Logan do before joining Destiny’s Edge?
How about Eir?
And Rytlock?
Not to mention Zojja and Caithe?
Well to be fair: What could he do?
He does not have an army.
He hold no power to organize the defense of Lion’s Arch. All he could do would be to alert the Council, which he did and they ignored him.,
Not everyone gets a Wyld Hunt. In fact it is the complete opposite. The vast majority of the Sylvari does NOT get a Wyld Hunt.
Is Scarlet 100% evil?
Are the Dragons?
Are DE 100% good?
None of those are (as far as we know, Scarlet is still a bit unexplained) 100% one way or another.
The fact that they do indeed have your serial number would more or less make it impossible to protect against it. Seeing as they have all the information they need in order to “regain” access to “their” account should you change password.
The best thing you can do is contact support and explain the situation and hope for the best.
Anyway in GW1 everything was translated. I know, in GW2 voice exists but we don’t need dubbing because it’s different thing. You think Arena Net need cash? What about Gem Store? In GW1 they had money without it…
I am 100% certain that GW1 was NOT translated into all 80 languages used in Europe (and definitely not all 6900 languages used worldwide.)
They are getting enough cash right now.
But what you are suggesting would increase there costs MASSIVELY, which would most likely mean that the current income would not be enough, nor would the few potential new players be enough to warrant spending those kind of monies.
GW1 also had an in-game store actually, but for some reason people do seem to ignore that.
EDIT: I just logged into GW1 to get the exact amount.
10 (or 11 if you count Bork Bork Bork) languages for the written parts.
6 languages included audio.
That is rather far from all languages in Europe or the world for that matter.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
As you see I don’t have a problem with English which I already said. I want PL in GW2 because Arena Net developed this game in all Europe, not a little bit of it.
And yet you are unwilling to pay the money needed for it.
There are about 80 different languages spoken in Europe. The amount of work needed to translate all that would be extreme.
And then they also would need to translate it to the rest of those thousand other languages for the rest of the world where the game is available.
The overall LW story doesn’t have to mean season one of the Living Story.
It is quite possible that season two might have more focus on Elder Dragons, and thus explain it there.
I am almost completely sure that the item is no longer available in the gem-store.
At least it should have been removed about a month ago according to the Patch-notes.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-January-21-2014/
EDIT: Yep, just logged in and checked and it is not available in the gem-store.
So why does solo queue get half the rewards again? Why do you keep giving double the rewards to the people who team join and farm solo joiners?
You are aware that Team-queue and Solo-queue does not fight each other, right?
When you go for Solo-queue, you fight other from the solo-queue.
As for why they get the double reward that is most likely due to the fact that it is more organized and thus most likely more challenging.
Have you forgotten that they later stated that they would give it to us after Season 1 of Living Story was over?
I haven’t.
Why me? Updates are free… :P
You are the one demanding that they push money into something a very small part of the player-base MIGHT like (not everyone wants games translated after all).
What you are demanding is not an update, it is basically a rewrite of the whole game (with constant updates that needs to be translated as well).
Are you willing to pay extra for keeping those translators paid?
Translation does not necessarily mean dubbing. Those things are different.
I know, I have never claimed they are the same (quite the opposite actually in the post you quoted), but translation also takes time and resources. It requires more than just pressing a button.
They would still need to pay those translators for translating stuff more or less constantly, due to the release schedule, so it will still be a rather big cost.
And if they do this, we will simply see posts about how people feel like second rate players for not having the voice-overs translated and we are back on square one with people demanding translation.
In fact, at relase day they knew what they takes. Arena Net shouldn’t made GW2 in Africa, EU etc If it isn’t translated, but they made that. Now – consequences
By the way could you tell me from where they took money to translate GW1 into Polish etc?
Or maybe people should accept that most (if not all) games don’t translate to every single language? If you don’t want to play a game that is not available in your language, maybe you shouldn’t buy it without checking if it is available in your language?
GW1 was a much smaller game with WAY less voice-work (in fact, I don’t even think the voice-overs were translated to all the written translated languages), and much fewer (and farther between) releases.
Are you going to give them a couple of million dollars then? I mean, to finance the whole thing, and then also give them a rather high amount of money monthly in order to pay the salaries of all those thousands of new employees?
If GW2 will be available for example in Africa they sould translate GW2 to their languages. Look! It isn’t! Right now except NA it’s only available in EU. Because of this they should translate GW2 into more EU languages. I don’t know how to say it easier. They need to translate GW2 into more EU langauges because ANet developed it also in EU. No need Africa languages If GW2 isn’t availabe in this continent.
Actually GW2 is available more or less world-wide. Asia being the exception (for now.)
It is fully buyable and playable in Africa, in South-America and in Oceania, so going buy your logic they should they need to translate it for all those languages as well.
You can’t say it is worth french and German but not Polish. Polish has Germanic roots and would not be that big of a stretch. I am sure as time goes on the will have many more translations. It is not coming soon though.. sorry man. No Czech for me ever prob.
There is a rather major difference between German and Polish. For one the Polish language is NOT germanic, it is slavic.
There is not enough people in the world speaking Polish in order to warrant hiring several new full-time employees and voice-actors.
With the release schedule for the game they would need to have the translators available more or less at all time, even after the main game is translated, due to them adding new stuff every two weeks.
There is about 6900 different languages in the world.
Are you really suggesting that they should translate the game into every single one of those languages?
They have translated the game to the languages that are big enough to warrant the money, resources and time to translate it for. Simple as that.
Every new language they need to translate it for would require a rather large amount of money, including hiring full-time translators for them seeing as they release new stuff quite often.
You are aware that PvP:ers were quite annoyed and complained about being unable to get Living Story stuff before they added them as rewards for wins, right?
We had more or less a thread per week about how they were “forced” to play PvE in order to get access to certain rewards.
Now we don’t need to do PvE in order to get said stuff, and if you don’t want them simply throw away the bags. Not really much of an issue.
The Alliance Supply Bags have a bunch of (potentially) nice rewards, including a mini and items needed for the new back-piece.
The most important thing to note is most likely the Quaggan Tonics though.
LOL Anet is starve for MONEY after April with 3 AAA mmo being release Anet need to milk all they can get :P
So I am pretty sure everything will be in Gem Store sooner than later :p
Funny, people have been claiming the exact same things since release. And yet we still have not seen any of those skins in the gemstore.
I am also interested in which 3 those would be. Since the only one I can think of is ESO (which most likely won’t really take many people from GW2 anyway). I suppose the others might be Wildstar and EverQuest, but none of those two have actual release dates, so it is quite unlikely that we will see them in April.
I guess I’ll save my 10 g and wait for it to be available in Gem store :P
I wouldn’t assume they would end up there.
As far as I know nothing obtainable strictly from the game have later on been made obtainable via gems.
Well they did make it quite clear that they were going to spend some of the live-stream playing WvW, so I don’t really see why you are suprised.
They usually have a bit of gameplay in their live-streams, which is quite nice, since just sitting around listening to a bunch of people talking might be boring for some people.
Keep in mind that the ability to upgrade the backpack will most likely remain even after the event itself is over. So even if you don’t see people doing the stuff giving you ore at the moment, there will be in the future.
And thus, this is no issue whatsoever.
(edited by lordkrall.7241)
Personally I like “Our PvP team will go into more details on these systems once they are further along.” - apparently half a year later, they still are not further along.
Did you miss: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/player-vs-player-rewards-roadmap/ ?
I wouldn’t really say that “a little bit” after 4th March can be considered 2015+ though.
Unless they have very big little bits over there in the US.
And the main difference between this and the 18th March is simply the fact that they blatantly stated that it wouldn’t be the Feature update when they first mentioned the date.
When [Living World Season One] ends [on 4th March], we’re going to take a break for a little bit and then we’re going to do one really big feature patch that is more akin to what people see from some of our [MMO] competitors,
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-01-14-you-thought-that-was-it-for-guild-wars-2
Due to the size and scope of the final four story releases in season one, the next round of major features will be bundled together into a large “feature only” release that will come after the first season of the Living World 2014 has finished.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/living-world-2013-the-year-in-review/
Well, since they have never even suggested that it would come out at March 18th it wouldn’t really make sense to have it there, since it doesn’t exist
They have however stated that it will come “soon after season 1 finale” after a short break.
And that would suggest that it would be coming within a month or so after release of the last part. I’ll see if I can find the quote.
You claimed there were no time-frame, I proved you wrong. Nothing more, nothing less. I didn’t put any specific opinion on information.
I would love for weeklies to replace dailies. Not everyone can play every day. We have lives.
Don’t do anything fancy. Just multiply the rewards x7 and tasks x7 (gather 140 items instead of 20 items, 7 dgns instead of 1 dgn, ect) and change the duration from 24 hrs to 168 hrs. It would drastically improve my enjoyment of the game, and most other life livers out there I’d imagine.
This would allow you to open up the dailys to have all possible ones available. This would truly allow us to play the game how we like.
So “not everyone can play every day” due to having lives.
But they can somehow do the same things * 7?
And claiming that people that spend about 30 minutes (doesn’t really take more than that) to get dailies have no lives is both silly and rather offensive.
“A specified period in which something is planned to take place”.
I would say after March 18th is very much inline with that definition. Especially if one consider that they have confirmed that it will be released this year.
Which would make the planned time-frame between 14/3-31/12.
Gentlemen, this is a public relations debacle on Anet’s part. Yet they defend themselves instead of being forthright with the community. C’mon Anet! Your goose is cooked! What’s wrong with giving us an expected time range for the upcoming feature release? The community is in a uproar and hiding behind the veil won’t help. The mob must be appeased. If only Anet can offer clear, transparent communication instead of cloak and dagger terminology (“maintenance build,” “after living story”).
Yeah, because everyone will be totally forgiving and understanding if they give us a date that they later need to push back due to unforeseen circumstances…
They have giving us a time-frame.
After a short break between after the Living Story S1 end.
Any more precise than that would be silly before everything is 100% set in stone.
No.
But blatantly lying in order to attack ArenaNet is just silly.
Well clearly talking doesn’t work either, seeing as people seems to be incapable of understanding what they are being told.
They’re literally separating the 2 modes when it goes in their favor but when it doesn’t, the PvP team takes a break from creating living story.
You might have missed the last months or so but they are actually going to make it less and less separated.
You are also completely ignoring the fact that the Feature Patch is not strictly a PvP patch, it will also include PvE changes and additions.
They DID say that AFTER the living story season one was finished (which is on 4th of march) there will be a BIG feature patch that will have everything they’ve promised. So you’re telling me since they didn’t give an exact date I should understand it like this: After 4th of march could mean even the december of 2014?
They also said that there would be a break between finale of Living Story Season 1 and Feature Patch.
18th is two weeks after the finale. Thus it would be just like a regular time between patches.
Having a break between the two would suggest that it would not be released two weeks after, and thus not released on the 18th.
Actually no.
They have never, in any way or form, even IMPLIED that the Feature patch would go live on the 18th.
They even made a point of calling it a maintenance patch in order to avoid confusion.
But clearly they overestimated the players.
And the first time we ever heard a date was in the same sentence as they called it a MAINTENANCE patch. Maintenance != Feature
No, Taimi simply states that because based on the information she have gathered from the refugees no one have seen Scarlet.
WE (as players) saw Scarlet at top of the Drill during the cutscene. The NPCs (or our characters) did not. Thus we as player knows she is there, but none of the NPCs would.
