Other than the fact that we know that Scarlet’s story is going to end on March 4th? Without Scarlet leading them, her alliances are probably going to flee the field, and Lion’s Arch is going to be easily retaken afterwards. It wouldn’t make any sense to not move back, repair, and rebuild.

The Captain’s Council is going to have to reestablish Lion’s Arch after all this. Without Lion’s Arch, being a member of said council would be meaningless. The writers would have never held a major election to put a member on it, as well as promising future changes and ramifications regarding the victor, if they were doing away with the whole thing in less than a year. Unless, of course, the writers were hoping to have a kitten storm on their hands.

We destroyed the Tower of Nightmares months ago, and yet I still see parts of it effecting Kessex Hills.

Just because Scarlet’s story is coming to an end doesn’t mean there will be no trace of her after she is gone.

What if her attack on Lion’s Arch attracts the attention of Mordremoth which then decides to wake up and crush LA? Should we remove it and leave it forever then just because Scarlet’s story is over?

And why assume the Council will survive at all? And if they do, do you really think they would be able to keep ruling after failing completely with their task of defending Lion’s Arch?

It is quite possible that they were suppose to be Dragon Minions but managed to break free before their Dragon woke up. That would explain the fact that the voice in Scarlets head seems to be something that existed all along rather than got into her when she used the machine.

As for them, as a whole race, being minions of a Dragon it seems quite unlikely, since that would make them impossible to have as a playable race.

Most of the important stuff seems to move to Vigil Keep for now, so I suppose people will start hanging out there. Otherwise they will probably end up in one of the other big cities.

This is a rather complex thing to fix though.
Removing the debuff due to disconnecting will simply mean people will disconnect their internet instead of leaving and thus not getting the debuff even if they do leave.

To be fair there seems to be several different levels of Champions.

Morgus Lethe for one seemed quite a bit more powerful than Svanir for one. Or TGD for that matter.

And since we don’t know anything about Mordremoth we can’t really know how much its corruption would effect the target.

This might have had some merit some time ago.
But not now since we got Edge of the Mists, which gives you both WXP and Badges, and thus even if your server never play WvW you can get a rather big group in EotM and get your rank.

I am rather sure they DID comment on it, when this was brought up soon after release.
And they basically said something along the lines that they wanted it to feel more epic, and thus made it require a group instead of going in solo.

I’ll see if I can find the post again, but I seem to recall that it was something like that.

There is nothing there that confirms (or even hints at for that matter) that they will move back to Lion’s Arch though.
It is fully possible that they will move to Vigil Keep for now, but later on will be moved to a new hub, that may or may not be a rebuilt Lion’s Arch.

People are already complaining about how anti-climatic it is that 5 players “easily” can take down an Elder Dragon.

How much more of that wouldn’t we get if we could suddenly do it on our own?

You might disagree, but everytime something that resembles PvE have been added in WvW there have been a rather big outrage on these forums.
So clearly quite a large group of people don’t want more of it.

If you got into GW2 with the expectations that WvW would be PvE with a chance of PvP I get the feeling you didn’t really read up on it at all.

I don’t really think people want more PvE in WvW to be honest.
Many WvW:ers seems to be very adamant against even the slightest addition of PvE.

And based on what they have said they will deliver more or less everything via the Living Story.

It is very unlikely that the Living World teams made Edge of the Mists after all.

Just because a small part of ArenaNet is working on the Living World team doesn’t mean that the other projects have nothing at all to do with the Living World.

I might remember incorrectly (I haven’t played for about 2 hours) but I am rather sure that we got a new map as late as last Tuesday that is still available in-game and will stay that way.

New PvP modes are in the works that have already been confirmed.
Precursor crafting is in the works, this has also been confirmed.
We have gotten rather many QoL updates the last few months, the last of them as late as last Tuesday.

I am still thinking new Dragon and new maps coming soon. Possibly sooner than we think.

You will simply enter the LA Personal story part from another entrance, as confirmed here:

Personal story steps will be accessible through a new entrance. Hwang’s team has taken steps to ensure that the city will remain fully explorable for map completion, although if you’re especially fond of a particular view…well, you might want to grab screenshots while you can. We were also warned that exploration isn’t exactly going to be as safe as it currently is.

And seeing as Personal Story is basically locked in time there should be no issues with LA appearing in its former state for those missions.

There are two different kinds of full.
One is a soft-cap. That have a set number of people being able to join it the regular way (just entering the map). Then there is the hard-cap which is higher, but until that is full you are able to join people in that overflow if you are in their party.
When the hard-cap is reached however, no one can join the overflow.

Neither in GW1 or in GW2 have you ever been able to create your own district/overflow, and definitely not locking it specifically for your guild. And it is unlikely that this will ever happen.

You are aware that new overflows are created when the first one is full, right?
So “3 underpopulated overflows” wouldn’t be able to somehow join a single overflow, unless a rather big amount of people rage-quit due to being put in overflow (in which case new players logging in would be added to that overflow anyway, and thus there wouldn’t really change anything).

You also seem to either not recall or simply ignore the fact that you couldn’t join full districts in GW1 either.

And people seem to have issues with overflows overall, not specifically the part that you can’t decide which one to join.

True, but they did build massive airships, tanks and bases which most likely rival (if not surpass) the amount of stuff needed for the Marionette and the Tower.

It was far from “most of Kryta’s forests”, and people DID notice it quite a bit before the Tower was revealed.

Keep in mind that this is not the last patch for the season. So bigger things still might await in the last patch.

How did the Pact get all those resources to build hundreds of massive airships, tanks, artillery and bases?

Well to be fair it was quite many people on these forums whining about the holidays being more or less the same. So maybe they scrapped that idea?

There’s only one dragon that has the rank “Shatterer” at a time. He gets it when the previous dragon who had this rank was killed.

I would say that is rather conclusive evidence that the Shatterer is not a specific dragon but rather a title, which is also referenced by the wiki:

The Shatterer, also called the Beast by some Sentinels, is a rank given to a champion of Kralkatorrik. At any given time, there’s only a single dragon of this rank. Once a Shatterer dies, the title moves on to a different dragon

But we ARE facing multiple Shatterer.
In lore the Shatterer is not a specific dragon, it is a rank. And thus everytime we face the Shatterer we are facing a new dragon.

As for Zhaitan in Arah Story mode that is easily explained by the fact that Dungeons are time-locked. And as such is not effected at all by the world progressing.

They did make a rather big point of moving all the LA-only things to the Vigil Keep however. Which would suggest that it will, at least temporarily, be rather much destroyed.

Personal Story missions are locked in time.

Most explorable areas are not (Orr being the exception).

You will simply have to enter the Personal story from another way.

And to be fair the Personal Story itself is “locked in time” so the Personal story can still take place in LA even if the current LA would be destroyed,

As stated in the article linked they have already fixed that.
The Personal Story is “locked in time” after all, so it can very much still take place in Lion’s Arch even if present Lion’s Arch is destroyed.

They are not removing the area, they are changing it.
It will still be explorable (although not as safe as now).

And people HAVE been shouting about the Living World having no real consequences and changing nothing for about a year now.

I have a feeling it wont be destroyed, besides it wont even be the first time the city has been attacked. It has been attacked before in some of our personal stories which I might add was one the most memorable parts of any of the stories I have done on all 8 chars.

I just hope this turns out to be more than what I expect it to be.

ArenaNet is destroying the most convenient hub in the game to craft and congregate so they can push more royal terrace passes and tradesman packages in the gem store.

I would say that there are many places more useful when it comes to Crafting than Lion’s Arch.
Personally I tend to use Rata Sum, it have close connection between TP and crafting and you don’t get all that pointless spam that you see in Lions Arch.

And adding on the information from massively it does indeed seem that LA WILL get destroyed.

Well actually this is the first MMO where I’ve seen this vast differences, I’ve played several USA based games and never saw before that the usd was equal to the euro even if the VAT would be an issue, but since I would buy it in game it would never even reach my hands(basically it’s an electronical service not an good and Vat can only be issued over goods) so it would still all stay on USA soil. I kinda wish Anet would react themselves, it’s not that hard, just press reply and type the answer, and if the answer is “because we can.” then be honest and say so ;o But then don’t be surprised if people find a way around it, because we can do that as well.

Being able to destroy your own bridge is very much a tactical ability. They should however consider removing the achievements for destroying and/or repairing them.

Zergs are not bugs. And they will most likely become smaller when the map is getting older.

Zhaitan is talking with you quite a few times during the Personal Story.

Kralkatorrik also had rather clear thoughts during the Edge of Destiny.

Ah. Might be the case.

I don’t recall them self-destructing though.

At most dual professions would cause players to think and that has no place in a casual mmo.

I am fully aware of that.

But if I have a warrior character, I can basically use that professions stats and use the abilities of the thief. And thus the issue I talked about still exists.

You have gotten your answer though.
It is because of VAT. And instead of changing the price every single day (which would be impossible due to gem-cards and such) they set a specific value and stick to that. Simple as that.

VAT and such are included in the Euro-prices.
