Aye, the issue with this is the fact that it would make actually doing content in order to get the rewards basically pointless, since anyone can just buy it half a year later.

And lets be honest, most people do play for the rewards rather than the story.

Today i had a very bad experience during the Tequatl the Sunless fight. After fighting for 10 minutes on really organised server we brought the boss down to ~30% hp, but a sudden dc forced me to reconnect. And immagine my reaction once i found myself in an instance where the boss had over 95% health with <5 minutes before the event ends…
Needless to say that i recieved no reward for my attempt, which left a bad aftertaste of the “oh-so-fancy” megaserver feature.

Would it really be so hard to make ~2-3 minute long “spot reservation” so that players who loose connection or have their game turned off can reconnect and still recieve the reward for their hard work? (don’t mistake with people who move to other map)

You are aware that the exact same thing happened before MegaServers as well, right?
If you disconnected from an organized try on one of the big bosses you would almost certainly be put in an overflow when you got back in, so that have literally nothing at all to do with the MegaServer changes.

They have never given us an actual time-line for the roll-out though.

It was basically: We will roll-out it over time in order to not crash the system.

Nowhere did they even suggest that it would not happen to certain maps before the end of 2014.

Alright then. Stop doing SoloQ then. The organized groups do TeamQ, since there they will meet equally organized groups, while any kitten can join a fight in SoloQ.

No it simply means that the already existing story for the zone might potentially match a bit with the upcoming Living Story.

Many of the events for that zone have to do with said alliance, and have been since release.
It is rather unlikely that they built all that specifically for a potential Living Story arc.

I keep wondering about all these people with guilds that are trying to do guild missions together with 150 players.

Was that possible before the megaservers?
Because I am rather sure the map limit is somewhere around that number, and in those cases it would require a completely empty map in order to fit everyone in.

It is not a mistake though.
It is simply the fact that they can’t/won’t store multiple versions of the same map on the server, and as such the personal story uses the “live” maps for there missions.

They have commented on this earlier and said something about it being explained in the future.

You can always buy a Upgrade Extractor and get the rune that way.
But is probably cheaper to just buy another rune.

This is a wording bug not a content issue. The design behind the dungeon tracks was that players would need to run the track multiple times to get the entire set of weapons and armor.

19 – weapons
18 – pieces of armor (6 light, 6 medium, and 6 heavy)

Upon completing a track you will get 3 weapons and 1 piece of armor all your choice including stat combo. Upon running the track multiple times you are able to either save tokens for legendary or use tokens to speed the process up of getting the full weapons/armor set you are working towards.

The fact the text says “set” is a mistake that we are going to update soon. Any other questions just let me know.

That is true there are more issues now but I would still like this issue responded too.

They did respond.
They removed potential other bonuses from permanent tools released after this one, which would suggest that their response was: “Okay, players don’t like it, so we won’t add it to any more tools”.

It is quite funny that people complain about this fix, seeing as people have been suggesting this very fix for a very long time (even before MegaServers), but now all of a sudden it is the worst fix ever.

Do you actually get the chests though? Or is it just a visual bug?

To be fair right now the exclusive PvP skins are tradable, and thus they aren’t really exclusive to PvP.

First of Anet is a bunch of liars. They said that the role out of the Megaserver would be slow. Yet now half of all the maps are now the megaserver.

Third, Anet is liars again. I remember an article or maybe it was the manifesto video but I remember a quote that went something along the lines of “You will not have to wait about for timers.” The megaserver has done just that.

Based on the look, it is likely that it will be added somewhere around Dragon Bash/Dragon Festival (June/July), since it looks rather asian-inspired.

Well to be fair, the drop-rate for Ascended items seems rather high from the new sPvP reward tracks.
I have personally gotten two rings, without even fully completing one, and there are people talking about getting armor-boxes and such as well.

You got one charge per rank in sPvP.
You also get charges from doing the reward tracks (which basically means doing PvP).

I am still waiting for an alternative way for ArenaNet to make the same amount of income if transmutation was free.

I would assume they simply added it to the patch-notes in order to tell people that it will happen, so they don’t throw away their stuff and then whine about not being told about a merchant coming.

My guess is that it will turn up at the start of Season 2.

They have NEVER compared their story to Game of Thrones.

What they did was that they wanted people to DISCUSS and SPECULATE about what would happen next, as in Game of Thrones.

This have been the case since release.
The only difference now is the name more or less. You can still get loads of free transmutations charges by playing the game as well.

Because that is basically the options that exist. Either it is cosmetic, or it is stats.

As far as we know, no.

So I would suggest doing the Story Modes of the dungeons now, when people are rushing to do them in order to have them unlocked.

The Arah unlock seems to be bugged at the moment though, so I would suggest skipping that until it is fixed.

Personally I unlocked all of them (except Arah) by playing a couple of hours yesterday, so they are rather fast to complete. Especially now with loads of people doing them.

People also have to keep in mind that server-merges in this game can be rather hard, due to the 3-server match-ups in WvW.

That means that everytime they merge servers they need to merge 3, 6, 9, 12 etc servers, and that might create rather big issues, especially with languages.

And yet with these ones you completely bypass the RNG that people have been whining about since release.
Now you are GUARANTEED two of these every time you complete a track that have them (the regional seems to have them and they are repeatable).

These are for PvP players, not for PvE-players that want a faster/easier way.

They explicitly state 5v6 in the game since release, which would very much suggest that five races managed to survive 6 dragons back in the days, and thus 5 races should be able to do it again today.

They most likely won’t give us a road-map seeing as the moment they do people rage every single week about the tings mentioned in the road-map not being implemented yet.
Or if they figure out that a potential change wouldn’t work as well as they had though and thus removes/changes it from the road-map, people would rages as well.

It is basically a lose whatever they do.

If they don’t tell us, we get threads like this.
If they do tell us, we get threads demanding stuff right now, and rage as soon as something changes.

And pathetically enough it is often the SAME people that said both of these things.
I suppose complaining for the sake of complaining is something we just have to get used to here.

Go play nightfall, you get the best gear just before getting on the ship off the tutorial island. The store was only pvp unlocks for people who wanted to only play pvp and not go through pve to get skills for pvp. There was no grind to do the main story in the first gw.

I wouldn’t consider the whole of Istan as tutorial though, and even so I don’t recall being able to get the max statted stuff from there, but I might remember wrongly.

Ah yes, and the storage, and the runes, and the skills that could be learned by PvE-characters as well due to trainers and/or skill books, and Mercernaries, and bonus mission pack and other upgraders (such as the rather OP Imp summoning stone.)

There were grind in order to advance both Factions and Nightfalls story line at places.

The issue lies at your end.

GW1 was far more horizontal than this game is. GW1 you were max level with the best gear before leaving the tutorial area. Gw1 had no subscription and no micro transactions at all yet still got some free content updates every now and then. A single months worth of gem store stuff they add to this game cost more than gw1 and all the expansions combined.

The last few months of gw1 before gw2 came out had some pretty decent free content updates and i think had a couple after gw2 came out. The only added minor micro transactions to gw1 not long before gw2 came out and from what i remember it was only bank slots which in that game were not needed at all and character slots.

Your memory is quite faulty.

It was 100% impossible to get the best gear in the Tutorial Area in GW1. You are also ignoring the rather big grind required in order to even do the main story or the rather massive grind needed for certain rather important skills.

They also had an in-game store, which was released quite early in the games life. Which sold skills and stuff like that.
