One could question why you would even want/need Dragonite, if you are as casual as you say, seeing as the gear is only needed in high-level Fractals which you basically don’t have enough time to do anyway.

Yes, if the game flops in China it is indeed quite possible that it will have lasting effects on GW2 and especially ArenaNet as a whole, and therefore anyone that actually cares about GW2 should be happy that they do everything they can in order to make sure it is as much of a success as possible.

What I meant was that if you have issues with your connection, playing sPvP might not be a good idea until the issue is solved. It is not you that get hit the worst when you disconnect, it is your team-mates and your enemies that gets a boring and uneven match.

I would be willing to bet that the second phase of the Living story will be a filler developed by a minimal part of their team while the majority of them work on a new game.

While this could be disappointing, because of the unfulfilled potential of GW2, if we were in their shoes it’s probably what we would all do considering the fast pace at which moves the industry.

They didn’t just acquire the Unreal 4 Engine for their future project to sit on it a few years developing content for their old GW2 engine. The merging of servers to manage low population issues also hint at the fact that they are looking ahead beyond GW2. The Chinese release will give them a fresh cash income for the development of their future project.

NCSoft (whom the article is about) have a rather large number of other games under their banner, so assuming it means GW3 seems rather far-fetched.

So you are basically claiming that Gaile is blatantly lying when she states that there have not been a massive increase in tickets about hacked accounts?

If there was a security breach, they it is extremely unlikely that they would not inform the player-base and tell them to change passwords and so on.

I might have missed something somewhere, but how can you know for sure that your email account isn’t compromised? As far as I know I am completely unable to see if any other IPs than my own is connected, at least with and hotmail and gmail.

There are two possible scenarios here:
1: ArenaNet have a security breach.
2: You have a security breach.

If 1 was the case we would have seen a massive influx of reports, which Gaile claim that there have not been, and why would she lie about that?

If your email authentication was turned off it sounds very much like your email is compromised, which would mean that no matter how many times you change password or whatever, they will still get access to your account.

The thing is, they won’t do anything other than giving your account back after the first restoration, since that is their policy. If they start going against said policy it would create a massive kitten-storm with people demanding the same special treatment and so on.

Be happy that they help you get back your account at all, seeing as they would have all right in the world to simply ban the account when it is repeatedly hacked and used for rule-breaking things.

Not all PvE-players are bad at WvW nor are all WvW-players doing only WvW.

But if they give consideration to some people, they would have to do it to EVERYONE at ALL TIME, and that WILL effect the economy quite a bit. And therefore they simply don’t do it for anyone.

To be fair if there actually was something that had infiltrated ArenaNets account-servers I would say that it would be WAY more people losing their accounts, and also losing it repeatedly.

And if that happened (not everyone posts about it on the forums, so we don’t know the actual numbers) I am rather sure that ArenaNet would check up on the security and make sure there was nothing spreading information from their servers.

They are not a bunch of kids in a basement, they are a experienced company with loads of experience people.

I have played since Headstart and I have yet to have a single unauthorized connection on my account. The fact that it has happened twice for you would suggest that the security is not high enough. Might be keyloggers or something on your computer, or a hacker with access to your email.

No, your restoration personally might very well not effect the economy. But if they allow it for you, they have to allow it for everyone.
And what happens when a couple of accounts with 1000s of gold get hacked and said gold spread, and then restored? Then we would suddenly have added 1000s of gold out of thin air, and that WOULD effect the economy of the game.

You are aware that the hackers aren’t effected at all by a rollback of your account right?
Since the stuff that is gone is already gone and thus the hackers have already gained what they want to gain from it.

The fact that you have been hacked two times would also suggest that you need to take a look at your security, seeing as there is quite clearly something missing there.

I also added a second sigil to a greatsword, and I would say it was rather clear where it was going to be placed (you had to actively select the slot).

Content is content even if it is no longer available. And there are quite a bit of permanent stuff added as well.
Such as a couple of JPs, Fractals, more Fractals, Southsun Cove, Guild Missions. Edge of the Mists.

GW1 had very few content updates. Most of them were actually stand-alone games, rather than just simple updates, so not really a fair comparison, but if you really want to compare I would say that we have gotten about as much stuff as Factions and Nightfall added.

Yes I did.
As a matter of fact I had one of my characters parked there during most of the festivals. And I have never had even close to 10 minutes loading time.

You are aware that they are actually losing money by doing this, right?
Every time a refund is issued (such as in this case with the extra gems) it costs them money. So it is extremely unlikely that they knowingly or willingly does this.

Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that it is rather usual for something to be charged multiple times if you try to process it during a short time despite getting errors.

Many check-outs informs about this and says that if you encounter an issue, wait and/or contact support rather than just trying to redo the same thing again.

If it takes 20 minutes to load I would question if your computer actually fulfills the minimum requirements for the game. Or if something in your computer is faulty.

Stuff can take some time yes, but 20 minutes is extreme, and while the loads have increased quite a bit since the MegaServers but I have yet to see any increase that is that massive.
It takes a minute or two at most for me, and I have a rather medium-range computer.

You can buy gems in the Gemstore (pressing O – Buy Gems).

Or if you don’t want to spend real money you can delete your characters and then transfer for free to the other server.

Based on what you have written it can very much be some sort of network issues from Paypals side (or more specifically the connection between Paypal and ArenaNet/Digital River).
The main thing here is that the issue itself is most likely not something that ArenaNet can solve, seeing as they are not the ones handling the transactions, but rather PayPal and Digital River.

There isn’t really anything to discuss based on this, so I don’t see the point at all.

It is indeed rather optimized, but it is optimized more towards low to medium-end computers rather than high-end, which would explain the different experiences.

The more tickets you open the more time it will take.
Every time you open a new ticket you are placed at the back of the line, and as such it will simply make it take longer.

Threatening them is most likely not a good way to get them to help you however, so I would suggest not doing that. You technically have no rights at all, since the ToS you sign clearly states that they can do whatever they want with your account, for whatever reason they want.

How long did you wait? The normal response-time is 72 hours, and it is probably a bit longer now due to all refund requests and such.

Regardless, I got infracted for my post. As they say the truth hurts and I think ANET realizes it and tried to hide it.

And when they did the CDI people had already been demanding a new map for a year, and the new map was most likely already way underway by then (I don’t fully remember, but I do seem to recall that the map was actually public knowledge before the CDI, but I might be mistaken).
