How do you feel cheated exactly? There’s only 200 extra cogs given and that’s because of those who lost cogs due to diminishing returns in the dungeon. You can still ONLY craft 2 minis, not 3. So I fail to see how you or anyone got cheated in this.

Patch up and log in, a second compensation was sent out last night that gave 250 cogs along with the PvE and PvP rewards from the Tixx chest, as a surefire way to make sure people got the rewards.

Ah have not been in since Thursday so will have to.

Ah that it does not, the Wintersday gifts do not drop Foostivoo.

If I am not mistake it does have a very very small chance to drop, however the other minis have a much higher chance and all you need is 3 of them (which ones doesn’t matter) + 50 stuffing and poof, baby quaggan. Such is a much, much easier way to acquire the baby quaggan. Also the patch notes do state it can drop, but again…very very very small chance.

I do have to agree I wish the holiday minis where not bound in any form. This would allow players to be able to share, or sell, their excess minis so other players could collect them as well.

Griffon and Princess are my favs. Ventari was great too but I just had to have the others first. As for the Soldier and Golem…well, just not my style.

Dude seriously? What’s your malfunction here, you don’t have to buy anything to get anything. People wanting the gem store minis have a good chance to get them. People who want to get the 2 possible minis for the options. All you have to do is the Tixx dungeon once a day to get those mini’s and the mats to make them. Missed a day? There will be repeats that should allow you to get the ones you missed. But as for this claim that only the rich can have fun, seriously? I spent $20 on boxes and got 4 minis, kept the snowman and used the rest for Foostivoo. That was by choice.

As for mats being “ridiculous amounts of gold” that’s the playerbase setting those prices. And as I said above, do the run each day you have the mats to make 2 minis. Also there was no promise that each gift location would have a gift but that it had the potential to have a gift. The tonics are optional. The minis, optional. Is it a let down to not get an optional item? No. Its part of the game.

Overall the only scrooge I can tell around here is you. You’re just mad because you can’t get every little thing your way and as result you’re throwing a tantrum and degrading a wonderful Wintersday. The events are fun and frankly can’t wait to see what’s next.

Okay one thing that I find odd is you can be in Hoelbrak, for example, and move to Wayfarer Highlands. The zones are connected, side by side, thus should be the exact same time of day. However it can be the middle of the night in Hoelbrak and the middle the day in Wayfarer. This is…well…weird.

So with that, please sync up the ‘time of day’ between zones.

Personally all Legendary weapons are now is the ‘fluff’ of endgame. I would rather just craft pearls and transmute them to what I’d like. Sure I’d love Eternity or the not so legendary Jormag’s Breath, but the way mats drop and what not I’ll be happy with my 2g Exotics. Either that, or I’ll do some dungeon runs and get my weapons there. No they don’t have “legendary” stats but they’re just as good in my honest opinion.

I agree I’d like to see this as well. This way we can save those hats we get for festivals to be saved. As for costumes…I’d like to see these become account wide unlocks instead of individual buys, but ony ‘town’ costumes. As they are now is one reason I haven’t bothered buying them.

I’d also love to see the ability to use town costumes during combat at some point, outside the costume brawl.

If it’s BLC I’ll pass. If it’s a seperate chest…depends entirely on what the items are.

1) Vitalilty. It isn’t counted equally with each class. My ranger has 1.1k and 18k HP, my guardian 1.1k 13k HP. Not fair.

2) Guardians sometimes feel like ‘paper’…meaning if I get in a bind against 3 or more foes my guard goes down faster than my ranger. My toughness is 1.7k and I still drop like a rock in some cases.

Those two are my only issues with the guardian class. I finally built mine to a point where I like to be, high crit chance with high crit dmg. That plus my chance of burning every few seconds adds a nice touch.

Okay I’ve been working between two different builds on my lvl 80. The current one I’m finding only a bit ‘okish’ but not that great. I deal dmg, can keep VoJ up almost constantly, but overall dmg is still a little low.

Shelter // Smite Condition / Purging Flames / Sig of Wrath

This build allows me to keep VoJ if the kills are fast enough. The major factor is having three forms of heals. One, my main heal…two, meditations…three, VoR. I still have issues killing really fast one on one so I’m considering updating to a higher crit build as follows:

Traits:
0 / 30 / 30 / 0 / 10

Raidiance : VI / X / XI
Valor : I / IX / XII
Virtue : VI

This build gives the 15% crit and a stable 5% dmg boost. I’m running 5x Sup Rune of Flame Legion so I still get burn bonuses. The one thing both builds have is blind + vulnerability. With addition to Aegis I can on occasion drop a foe before they do any dmg if they are in lower level zones. In level 60+ zones killing slows down even with massive burning. So with the change I’m hoping that increasing my Condition dmg + Crit Chance will allow higher dmg output overall.

The only reason I added 5 into Nature Magic was for the regen @ 75%. I’ve found this does come in very handy in a tough fight and procs ever so often while under 75% HP.

Afaik, it triggers once when you get below 75%??

I’d drop the 5 i nature magic, and put them into BM for natural healing. Constant ‘regen’ for both you and your pet.

Took your advice here and reworked a bit. Found the opening strike wasn’t all that much to my liking. Current build:

Skills are still the same, so with this I can keep bleeding going easy, pets heal themselves when they crit, plus they heal more with the trait spec from both natural and crit heals. Now just to test it out in Frostgorge and see what happens.

Ok figured I’d put my build in for critiquing :

As for the skills I’ve tried multiple build types from spirits to traps. I found both quite lacking to my taste. This build I find allows me to add various forms of damage to my enemies, including burning from my FDS and bleeding. Also the skills work great with bow dmg & piercing arrows.

The downside to my current build is I chose Knights gear (Pow/Pre/Tough). As such my condition dmg is lacking, but my abiltity to crit is at a decent level (around 35%).

Heavy on bleeds. The cat bleeds ’em, the crits bleed ’em, and under 75% regular hits bleed ’em. Might work out a few kinks to make it a little better as than this.

Overall I have very similar specs, the only big diff is my Phenom II 945 @ 3GHz. I also have 8GB DDR2 800 OCZ and a Sapphire 6870. I get 25-30 FPS standard, and that is standing in the middle of a crowded LA, no event. The only time I’ve seen less than 20 FPS was 1) the halloween event 2) the one time Karka attack on LA 3) the Ancient Karka event. All three had hundreds of players in one place, so its understandable.

With that I’ll share my setup on my CCC – AA, AF, Vert Sync – all App Control — Morphological Filtering off – Tesselation AMD optimized – AI Standard – Mipmap High Quality – Tri Filtering High Performance. If anything this may help some out there with FPS issues on AMD rigs. Also I will point out my overall system stays extremely cool with 4x 120mm intakes, 2x 120mm exhaust, 2x 140mm exhaust. My CPU full load stays around 35-40*C, my GPU around 50*C. So cooling may also be what helps me out.

Sadly its the overall game’s utilization of hardware. It is more CPU dependent than GPU dependent at the moment. If you are getting 20+ FPS that is good in this game, the max I’ve seen so far with my current build was 60 FPS while facing a wall in LA. Also remember that the number of players in the area you are affects FPS as it takes more power to draw them, you can lower this by disabling the High Res PCs option, but then you’ll only see other chars in low res.

I’ll be honest with you, if you are getting the level of power out of your current system you really do not need an upgrade. Although upgrades are always nice, your system is still very powerful for what it is.

To be honest it sounds like there is a possibility you have a bad install. You can check under support and find the way to repair your game files if you haven’t already. Also try running temp monitor in the background to see if by chance you have a piece of hardware overheating, as such is very similar to either a GPU or CPU overheat failsafe. Also when you crash do you ever get any kind of error message, if so which ones?

To but it blunt, the #1 skill on most weapons hits up to 3 enemies, but not on scepters. I’d like to see these skills, especially on Ele’s, be able to hit 3 enemies.

What’s everyone’s thoughts here?

turn Vertical Sync off, also if enabled turn off AA and AF in your Nvidia Control Panel…this should help with performance

Although 2GB isn’t really enough for WvWvW or any PVP matches I will say that it is known by ArenaNet that there is an optimization error causing a lot of mid range to high end rigs to get lower FPS. They are in progress of working things out but it can be a while before we see a final optimization patch.

…and a sad note to what Gaile mentioned…all of this is perfectly legal in China, in fact is supported and funded by the Chinese government in some cases. Its like the Chinese jails which make inmates play stolen accounts on WoW and other games to farm gold and advertise for these companies. Pathetically sad really…shows how low some go to make money.

Seriously sounds like you where speed hacked. And, hate to say, they have stated they are unable to restore individual characters, items, etc at the moment. They have also stated that it is in the works but will take time to create a system to restore individual data.

Also, just out of curiosity sake…what in the 6 gods is a pg? It kinda makes no sense as an acronym as not a single class or race in GW2 starts with a p. The g I’d take as a guardian, but pg just makes no sense to me.

The only thing I can come up with that may help is if you go into your Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings and turn the following to ‘application controlled’ – AA, AF, Vertical Sync. This may or may not help, personally I hope it does.
