*Lattice and other T4 Trader decorations — let us buy them from the scribe merchant please

I have a 275+ scribe and can’t make items that require lattice because my guild is only lvl 28 without a T4 Trader.

No need to worry about Lion’s Arch getting decorated…just ask Ho Ho Tron 2.0…he mentions that Wintersday is held in DR because of the tons of mon..err donations made by its people….of course all of those gift dolyaks aren’t carrying what we think they are…they are really loaded with the goodies that they take down to the lowest levels of the Pavilion.

I had that issue with yahoo mail, switched to gmail and it fixed the email authentication issues…the issue is some email groups like yahoo, which is an att partner, like to block arenanet emails in their spam guard for some reason

Sadly everyone who attempts 4k runs across this…I have my system connected to a 43" 4K tv and anything above 1440p is too small to deal with.

Personally I like getting BL Chests every now and then. Last night I opened 30, got Braham’s new outfit, 39 of the shards (3e + 250 unbound magic = 1 exotic weapon), plus I got 6 account unlocks, 4 of which are BL weapon skins.

It isn’t that bad in the long run. Personally I’d like to see more season items like the current instead of ToT bags, Wintersday Gifts, etc. I would love to see Tomes of Knowledge removed though…they are useless…unless they want to allow us to use them to buy mastery points…like 25 Tomes = 1 Tyrian MP, 40 for 1 HOT MP.

Well, since the changes I have gotten 3 guarantee unlocks. The first two were meh unlocks, in game stuff/minis…the 3rd unlock I got was the wide-rimmed glasses, which cost more to buy from the gem store than the cost of the key.

Overall, I see most items in the chests to be valued higher than the cost of 1 key…even more so if you get that elusive 4th item. However some items, like the Tomes of Knowledge, need to be tossed out of circulation.

LWS3 is incredible, however you will not have access to part 1 unless you logged in while it was running. Since part 2 is still the current, you will get it for free.

Other than that, there have been small tweaks and added events throughout core Tyria as well. The 80 boost does not expire, but it is a one shot deal.

Over all I have found going back and playing through core story and revisiting HoT maps for loot and such.

The only things I wish they would do with the BLCs is revert to adding festival bags as a fourth item during the festivals only and remove those Tomes of Experience.

Losing 1 item slot to a useless ToT Bag, Wintersday Gift, or the like is for the birds, but getting 2 Tomes of Experience when you have stacks of them in your bank is even worse.

Based on the notes there should be 4 drops. 1 seasonal, 1 guaranteed uncommon or higher, 1 convenience item, 1 progression item. However, it seems to be bugged at 3 items.

I wish the seasonal item, ie ToT bag, was a 4th slot like it was in years past. As it is now, it cheats people out of 1 item.

PS Please remove Tomes…we get them from daily logins, pvp tracks, and wvw tracks…we don’t need them in the BL Chests anymore lol.

The mini drops from Trick or Treat bags…and it is extremely rare…only a few have been lucky enough to get them. RNG strikes again!

If you want something fun that your entire guild can enjoy, and are a scribe, you can work towards some of the great Halloween and Wintersday recipes. For 100 candy corn you can get 1 pumpkin to add to the guild decoration bank, pumpkins then can be used by scribes to make a wide variety of other decorations…some decorations do take up to 250 pumpkins so its best if the entire guild pitches in.

Other than that, the RNG ToT bags have new minis that are not account bound, a mini feline familiar that is account bound, new exotic necklaces and the like. As for Gwynefrydd, based on the last 2-3 Halloweens, minis drop in price each year for CCCs. So, I’d say convert some candy corn over, but wait and watch…also, I’ve noticed the Halloween vendor is selling the Mini Bloody Prince for 10ccc whereas the festival vendor sells him for 6…so it is possible the festival vendor may pick up a few other minis over time.

I really do not see how this is considered an exploit. If you are on map A and it finishes successfully very quickly, you open your chests below, then relog and find map B is still in progress I say go for it! But then, I’m that player who is scrapping rares and exotics for mats, dumping the ecto into the Guild Treasury for upgrades, and making a small profit off the greens and garbage I choose not to salvage…and by small I mean usually under 1g.

As for the ecto rate, this has happened before. The TP market is a basic supply / demand economic standing. You have players who are willing to sell all the time, but then you also have players who play the market by removing supply from circulation, then they wait for the price to increase, then sell small enough quantities to ensure they do not break the market. That is how economics works plain and simple.

Based on the specs I pulled for your system, yes that would be about right. Your i7 taps out 3.5GHz with turbo on, 2.6GHz stock. GW2 is heavily CPU reliant, GPU and RAM make a marginal difference.

What may be happening, if your laptop has a secondary GPU (nvidia or AMD), is it may be trying to utilize the intel GPU instead. Does any of this happen in any other games?

Sounds like your antivirus is bugging out and removing it. Which Antivirus are you running, and which OS are you running? Also, download malwarebytes antimalware from malwarebytes.org and run a detailed scan by going to scan → custom → check rootkits and your main drive(s). This part takes hours but will find any potential malware on your system in usually 1 to 2 runs (depending on if you have any malware that protects other malware).

F2P – want access? pay for it or consume time earning it in game
P2P – access to content.
gw2 – pay to pay to play.

They shouldn’t have to advertise that they aren’t going to double charge you for content. Not double charging for content should be the norm. This is true for most other games. I say most because if I said all some rules lawyer would find the one other game double charging happens in and ignore the other couple thousand it doesn’t happen in while fully defending this practice.

gw2 is advertised as a buy to play game, not a buy to buy to play game.

Before LWS2 they announced that to unlock each episode you had to simply log into the game while it was running. Same with LWS3. If you did not have the game at the time, the Living World Seasons may be purchased for Gems. I do not see how you believe this is double-charging for content, as it additional content outside of the game and expansion…in truth it can be viewed as an Adventure Pack or the like, much like is offered by many other MMOs for a fee and not given freely to those who log in while the season is running.

I am a 1/3 co-lead of my guild, and what I did was take about an hour or so to refine ranks. I set them as MIA, Allies (friends who are in and out), Recruits, T1-3 Members, Leaders. The MIA rank is given upon 6 months of inactivity. After 1 year, a message is sent to their account and they are removed.

Sadly, when i first did this roughly 40% of the guild was set to MIA. A few came back, others still have not. It does take time, but it also opens the doors to newer, more active players.

I have a nice 4k TV that is capable of 4K @ 60Hz, I play at 1440p because of this. Funny enough, at 1440 with Normal interface it is absolutely perfect. Hopefully they will disconnect the Interface from the Resolution, but I know that does take a lot of work on the back end.

Prediction of two things that will happen….1) the baby dragon will grow as more elders die, 2) Lazarus will absorb some magic himself, and finally 3) more baby dragons will be born to properly divide the magics. So we could see a baby Zhaithan…or something…maybe…

I still do not understand the overrated desire for Mystic Coins as it is. Sure you use them in the Mystic Forge, but the items you can acquire that way can be obtained other ways as well. I have around 100 Clovers and none came from the Forge, all from the Week 4 Login reward and PVP reward tracks by only doing the dailies. And now you have WvW reward tracks so you can get even more.

I guess the point I’m trying to figure out is why people are still stuck on the Mystic Toilet…

I’d love to see a ‘Send to Guild Hall’ option on them if you feed them on a different character lol.

I was looking over the patch notes and I can hardly wait to get started on Part 2 of LWS3. The one thing that really caught my eye was the latest Guild Hall update with cloth and leather nodes. These are AWESOME!

The Revive orb update is also great, it finally makes them more viable.

They did bring Fused Weapons back about 1 year ago for 2 Tickets each if I remember correctly. It lasted 2 weeks. They do this on occasion, you just have to watch the announcements for such.

Go into your Crimson Game Settings and turn Anti-Aliasing to either ‘Use Game Settings’ or ‘Enhance Game Settings’. Override is bugged. Also in game set your AA to a lower level or off.

Sadly the 16.7.3 and following drivers do have issues, even more so with the new RX 400 cards.

You may want to run CPUID and GPUZ to verify all components are running at peak performance. If you notice your GPUz read x16 @ x1/x4 it means you need to reseat your cards. Also, SLI and Crossfire sometimes have adverse reactions to GW2 as it is a more CPU reliant game.

Sadly with the limited staff ArenaNet has, GW1 has become more of a very distant side project. One thing I would absolutely love to see would be the addition of a GW1 forum section on these forums.

Anyone know if it is possible to use the -img command like we could in GW1?

I’m looking at upgrading my GPU for better 1440/4k support. I know my FX 6300 is a bottle neck in games like GW2, however I do play other games that require more GPU than CPU. I currently have a R9 270x 2GB so I know either will be a huge improvement, but I question is which will I gain more from?

The price point on a RX 470 from XFX is roughly $220, the Rx 480 is expected around $260 but is mostly MIA. As for the GTX 980, BestBuy has the GeForce GTX 980 on sale for around $250, but only for a few more days.

The number one thing I want is HDMI 2.0 or better so I can get 120Hz @ 1440 and 60Hz @ 4k. The 270x only has HDMI 1.4 which does not support higher than 30Hz @ 1440/4k. My display does have HDMI 2.0 already.

Another option could be the 1060, as it also falls in the $250 range.

Personally I kinda liked the glowing chaos look with swirling lightning, but this…it looks pretty awesome as well. I just wonder what the effects will look like.

The major issue I’ve found in GW2 is the UI is directly linked to the resolution. In other games it is stand alone and can be modified separately.

I will say that though I have a 4k TV I run at 1440p because of the UI issue. That and my R9 270x can only do 24Hz @ 4k. Still watching those RX 480s…and still not convinced they actually exist. I may stick with 1440 since it is a 43", but it has HDMI 2.0b so 1440 supported @ 240Hz easy and this thing has 120Hz native.

Think its out of hand in GW2? Go sit in LA, Kamadan, or the Shing Jea Monastery for a few minutes. They use the WTS feature to advertise!

If you are running Windows Vista or 7, remove AVG and download Microsoft Security Essentials. If you have 8, 8.1, or 10, remove AVG and turn Windows Defender on. Both are much better than AVG.

I have noticed others pointing out the Bus Link is showing 0% on your GPUZ. On tab 1 does your GPU show x16 @ x16 or is it x16 @ x8/x4/x1? If it is showing under x16, you will need to pull your GPU and reseat it.

On the other hand, the sad news is the entire Bulldozer family line have absolutely horrible single core performance. Even AMD called themselves out on it. As sirsquishy stated, the FX 4k series is not a true quad core, but rather 2 physical cores, each with 2 logic processors. In essence, an over-hyped dual core. My FX 6300 is the same and I pull about the same FPS with my build.

A few things you may want to try would 1) reseat your RAM and 2) monitor your temps – CPUZ and GPUZ are decent for monitoring temp levels.

If temps are normal, how much RAM do you have installed and in what size DIMMS? If reseating them does not work, try removing 1 DIMM at a time to see if the problem persists. It is possible one may have an issue.

How much RAM do you have installed? Also, have you checked your current network speed? You can check it @ speedtest.net, and if it shows slower than you normally get with a high ping, try resetting your modem/router and disable your NIC to flush it out good. This usually fixes speed/communication issues on the net side.

As for the RAM, if you have >8GB, how much does your system show used when idle & how much with GW2 running? Normal should be 2-3/8 depending on your OS, up to 3-5 with GW2 running depending on settings. Also check for processes in the Task Manager that may be using abnormal CPU and RAM %.

Simple answer…never really cared too much for them. Some look good, others not so much, but I never had a real ‘need’ to obtain one.

Added throwing spears. Upon equipping said spears, warriors lose their pants and run around shouting at strangers. Yes this sounds like your typical Norn after a moot, but Norn are the only race that cannot use throwing spears…that’s what the bottomless bag of kegs is for.

All in all I agree a lot with WP mentions in his video. Mike did put his head on the chopping block with his announcement, but it is indeed much better than some other companies that silently terminate planned updates. ArenaNet is still much smaller than most MMO companies. Some members are moving on, reshuffling, etc…that’s how the industry works. I know very little about programing and coding, but I do know how working on a team is. Sometimes, you find someone who has the exact skill set needed to help with Project A, but you have them on the side working on Project M. Every decision made when working on multiple projects is a double edged sword…no matter what decision is made, you will have both a positive and negative outcome.

I think the primary thing here is, if we (the community) rip into Mike and the devs too much, it will send the wrong message. I for one want them to communicate things like this to us with actual standings on what is happening instead of sugar coated comments that do nothing. However, if the negativity reaches a high enough point, it may result in less communication down the line.

With that, to Mike and all of the dev team…what we in Guild Wars 2 so far is incredible…thank you for all of your hard work.

I agree on that 100%. The point of any and all MMOs is not to play just like everyone else…that makes the game boring and stale in my personal opinion and experience. Yeah a lot of people follow base meta builds for big events…but each one differs slightly from the next, and no 2 players play exactly the same way all the time. This builds synergy through diversity, and that is what makes this game a success.

As for the talk about the dev team and all, personally I think they are doing one heck of a job as the team at ArenaNet is much smaller than most other big named MMOs GW2 is in league with. The fact that their team brought so much to the table with GW2 is incredible.

So yeah, to the OP…sometimes you have to think outside of the box…unless it is the Tardis in which you do want to think inside of it…after all, it is smaller on the outside.

…I really like all of the HoT maps…
The thing is, they aren’t designed to be solo maps like most of core maps. They are more like Dry Top and Silverwastes, where each player contributes towards the overall progression during the events.

I will not argue that they are labyrinths in which one wrong turn may result in death, but I will say that is what makes them so intriguing to me. The challenge, not only to work towards completing the events, but just to stay alive.

the way I got the dive was to stand on the ledge just below the goggles where you can still put them on…this allows you to get a better look at where you are jumping

The R7 240 will hold you back some. Overall you should be able to get Medium-High settings without an issue, but I will tell you that FPS wise you’ll find the FX line of AMD CPUs is the bane of a gamer’s existence. With my setup, FX 6300 (the Six Core variant of the 770K), 16GB DDR3, 990FX, R9 270x I get 30-40 FPS max in most of the game. World bosses are the real killer, I get 5-10 FPS max.

Depending on the price that is being asked, it could be a decent investment for now.

Just need to restock some mats to get the inscriptions made to regear. I want to see what, if anything, will happen to celestial gear before I dispose of it.

Tried zerker, and I felt like a glass cannon. Pet wise, bear is for solo. He’s bait.

I’ve considered moving to Marauder or Wanderer’s, for a higher base power rating.
