What are your system specs? CPU / RAM / Vid / OS ?
Okay below are the build options I have in mind.
The following parts that will be the same:
XFX RX 470 4GB
16 (2×8) DDR4 3000 Corsair Vengeance RAM
2x Samsung Evo 840 250GB, 1x Samsung Evo 850 500GB
Asus H20 620 Khuler
Option 1: Ryzen
Ryzen 1600x / ASRock x370 Taichi MB
Option 2: Kaby Lake
Intel i5 7600k / ASRock z270 Taichi MB
Guild Wars 2 is the most taxing game I play, and I have seen the Ryzen 1700 videos on youtube. I did notice that the Ryzen was paired with a R9 290 which is a little dated compared to the 470. I did see the average FPS at Teq and Claw was around 15-20, also with first release BIOS for the MB which means a 2133 RAM speed cap. The current BIOS for ASRock confirms the Corsair RAM will run at 3000 (2966).
As for the i5 7600k, I have not found many GW2 videos at all. I have seen the i5 6600k in action, but it shows 20-25fps avg in world bosses.
Does anyone know of a good video with the 7600k in action in GW2 or have one themselves?

SweetFX is acceptable. I use the SweetFX Overwolf App. It helps add a little extra sparkle to the game.
The thing to remember is just because a person is dual-boxing using a shared keyboard control does not mean they are botting. Wrongfully accusing someone of being a bot does hurt the search for real ones. As for “odd movement” that is a symptom of key sharing (using 1 keyboard to control 2 units). Plus they could have a higher ping or lag issue that causes the occasional hiccup.
When you do a report, take a screenshot of the player as well, this way ArenaNet can validate the account from the reports. And multiple reports from the same player against the same player only makes that validation take longer.
When they look at your account and the input calculations they can usually tell if it is a bot program or valid user. Personally I think in issue like this, people who continuously report the same player falsely should be punished.
One thing, is your computer a branded build (ie Dell, Acer, etc) or a custom build? If it is branded, you need to check your Power Supply to make sure it has 6 or 8 pin connectors and is around 500 watts minimum. Also, you need to take into account the case size and motherboard’s x16 slot’s capability.
If you do not have the connectors on the PSU, enough wattage, a case that is too small, or a board that is unable to handle the card it would be a waste of money.
I would love to see LC as a Guild Hall in the future. Or as an outpost or base for when we go after Kral.
I had 13 keys saved from a few months and used them…no sword.
I bought 25 keys, got 1 on box 7 and another on box 11 or so. One thing to remind everyone, if you get an Account skin like this, bind it immediately. This way if you get that skin again it will give 2 keys instead.
One game I know that did this in an okay way is Star Trek Online. You can play in DX9c or DX11. But one thing I remember from Guild Wars 1, before Sorrow’s Furnace was added we had only DX9. That update enabled DX9c for better shaders and reflective armor.
Most people I believe are playing on a DX11 or higher capable machine…unless you are using Windows 7 which only goes as a high as DX10. Adding higher DirectX or even Vulcan support would be great, but it would take time to iron out any potential bugs before it can go live.
I was in que for a match, the map got selected and I ended up sitting in the PvP lobby for 10 minutes before it loaded me in. Result…dishonor for desertion in a game that loaded not even 1 minute before ending.

With GW1 or 2, if you are not prompted for a serial key when installing, it means all you need to do is enter your account information at login as normal. The keys are tied directly to your account and usually are not asked for to install the client itself.
Personally I love that ArenaNet is bringing skins from GW1 to GW2. I’d love to see the Glacial Blade, Vampiric Dragon Sword, Rose Focus and Exalted Aegis return as well.
As for complaining…I just don’t get it really. If you don’t like a skin that is added, fine. If you do, great. But why complain about it?
My guess is Elona is hiding behind Big K, which may be our target after the J-P beat down. Bubbles will probably lead us somewhere…as to that somewhere being Cantha, who knows.
I like the newer system better, but then as a GW1 player it is more to what I was used to. The cinematic system always bugged out weird, showing bald characters and stuff.
You know I still cannot understand how people say HoT is impossible to solo. With H&M I understand it is harder, but I soloed every single step of the way up to Hearts and Minds multiple times without issues.
HoT was a cakewalk, but then I have always had a different play style than most.
If the UI and Resolution were disassociated like GW1’s UI was, the issue would be without worry. However, in all realism, to do so could take months if not years to complete. We’re talking a complete re-write of the majority of the baseline program, a huge chance that it will cause serious issues with other parts of the code, and then, if it gets that far, the testing in a separate environment so that it does not damage the base game would also be required.
Essentially, programming isn’t as easy as many people think it is. We’re talking the current build of GW2 could easily have more than one billion lines of code, all of which would have to be validated and checked for conflict if you change even one character in a random line.
The biggest drawback to Ryzen right now is the Windows Scheduling conflicts with SMT. I have seen users posting videos out where they are keeping 15+ FPS in world events like Teq and Claw without issue.
The second drawback is the lack of support AMD gave MB Manufacturers when it comes to hardware compatibility (ie: RAM Speed limitations and other faults that lie with the BIOS intergration).
Once these are addressed, I believe the Ryzen with be a viable option for GW2.
I play 1440p on an FX 6300. I only see issues in major zergfests – ie: WvW, World Bosses, etc
LW3E4 — Farm those centaur! After about 15 minutes I had about 20 hardened plus lots of other leather.
…you know, I heard Chuck Norris quit WoW to play GW2 as a Warrior. If you see that one war wipe out a zerg of 100 in WvW, it’d be Chuck still trying to find a battle worthy of his OPness.
I’m very much looking forward to the 1600x after reading up on it today. Sure you lose 2 cores and 2 threads, but it should be about on par with the 1700 in the long run.
I am waiting though until the Rev2 / updated bios boards hit the market and the Windows 10 Scheduler Update is live.
What is your network speed and in game settings? These can have a huge impact on performance.
I am Bronze T2 and I have noticed I am getting opponents of much higher skill rating than myself. Frankly I find it very painful but still fun.
So we know the Ryzen 1700 performs well, and the 1800x even better. I’m betting once the SMT issues are fixed to allow the Cores proper access to their Threads we may see even better performance.
Right now I’m watching and debating…1700 or 1700x + ASRock x370 Taichi + 8-16G DDR4 and my RX470 should be a decent match up for the next 4-5 years…hopefully at least.
I have a FX 6300 and RX 470. I think getting a R7 1700 or even waiting for the R5 would be worth while.
The major change I’ve seen comes with the Marks required…which require crafting. The good news on marks is you have 2 options to choose from to get them…10 Tickets or 10 Pristine Fractal Relics.
I managed to get a full set of ascended on my ranger last season by only playing 3-4 games per day.
Looks like Ryzen isn’t that bad at all…especially if you are using the lowest end 7 series. To hold 15+ FPS without stuttering shows a lot of potential.
Like the title says, anyone out there have a Ryzen setup in the works? I’m really looking forward to seeing its results in GW2 before I make my final decision on which route to go in the future.

Yeah if you want to craft the 5 ascended Caladbolg’s it is expensive…if you just want the skins it is 1k Unbound Magic.
I’d like to see them used for currency or something. Like, 2 tomes = random T6 or ascended material. Or maybe have it where we can merge them into scrolls of knowledge (10 tomes = 1 lvl 10 scroll, 20 tomes = 1 lvl 20 scroll, etc). Or better yet..both options!
I ran up that hill on my Guardian without Stability. Used Meditation skills for burst heals, plus the Elite Signet for heals every few seconds. Made it up there with little trouble. Shield is good to have as #5 absorbs projectiles.
So far I’m finding Ep4 very interesting. And, through following Woodenpotatoes, took the liberty of entering the new Raid just to see what was there.
As for the leather farm…I found the centaurs to be a welcome open world challenge. I mean, I look at it more like an opportunity to get a squad together and raid a centaur stronghold instead of them raiding ours for a change. Got knocked into down state twice on my POI run, but found it very exciting.
The lore throwback to GW1 is awesome, as always. And the tidbit clues from E’s correspondence just adds to the level of mystery. Personally, I’m looking forward to where all of this goes in the end.
One thing about necromancers is when you hit 80 and if you have Heart of Thorns, you can become a Reaper. Greatsword + Chilling & Minion shouts + life siphoning = FUN!
Well it is an Elite skill. Like most elite skills it is there for that extra boost…if you are lucky enough to land it you get a few seconds to take the upper hand, if it misses you could find yourself face down in the mud.
I play after 6pm EST, ranked solo, and still do pretty decent. I will point out, I am not playing ranked for rank, but the rewards instead. I’m only t2 bronze, I know I’m not a Platinum grade PVPer, I don’t pretend to be.
If anything I’m happy that this season rank and rewards are separated, as it means players like myself can still have fun.
I have found that in many cases of inbalance, not all mind you, it is a case of player skill and play style. Though there isn’t a huge option of skills and builds, some players spend hours, days, even weeks to perfect their spvp builds for each season.
Again, one can only acquire 8 Mastery Points from the Personal Story; one per Level Arc. The Wiki is accurate.

In a sense, you only truly get one mastery per Chapter of the Personal Story. There are a total of 8 chapters in the personal story so only 8 Mastery points. I still find it odd that there are 67 total obtainable points, but only 49 needed to max the current mastery tracks.
I’d like to see a follow up on this. But I’d also like to see Logan get Magdaer as well. After all, Eir did take it to have it repaired for him.
Patches are the worst addition to this game for armor crafting. Before we just had to make the Insignia, now we need 5 patches per insignia…that’s ridiculous.
I still wish they’d remove Tomes of Knowledge from BLCs, PvP, and WvW tracks. We get 10 per month, plus plenty of Writs of Experience. No more needed.
At 80 you can hit up Dry Top and Silverwastes, finish up the Personal Story if you haven’t yet, and if you have Heart of Thorns, you can enter the Heart of Maguuma and start working on your mastery lines to drive towards Mordremoth.
Also, there is a three wing raid area in the jungle, Fractals of the Mists, and achievements to work towards. Just because you’ve hit 80 doesn’t mean you’ve run out of options.
Also, if you aren’t part of one, you may want to find a guild or two. Guilds get weekly mission options to work towards, plus Guild Halls that you can help build up and expand.

My biggest issue is I had transmuted the Wanderer’s Auric bow into a Stormbow, then got my Yaldir and wanted to salvage out my sigils for my ascended bow…had 4g worth of sigils that I lost because I couldn’t extract them. But then, 4g is a drop in the bucket as 2 days of dailies covers it 100%.
I too would love to see an increase in the local decoration limits.
Title says it. We can salvage armor and Chak weapons but we cannot salvage the Auric weapons we get as rewards for the story. Please fix. Thank you.
The only issue I have is that Superior Mischief and Snowfall runes do not drop this year. Well that and getting 10k drinks is taking forever lol
