I do it on both my necro and mesmer.

Necro is actually a bit easier.

Of course, if i saw 1 necro in the keep trying to find me, i’d simply retrait myself out of condi (with equipment) while in stealth, and shatter your necro into oblivion in about 5 secs. I suspect your little necro has a field day on the mesmers that stubbornly stay in condi mode, only to implode when the condis are transferred back on them.

the only thing that nails me in a keep is either my own stupidity, or 3+ engs with lock-on. And even then i know how to locate enough to either frustrate them enough to leave me alone or withdraw myself and follow their blob to the next keep and do it again..

its the stealth thats the issue. I think they should alter all stealth skills so none are over 5 secs in duration and don’t let them stack. Especially for a mesmer, who already has clones and evades. When a mesmer has time, while in stealth, to completely retrait and reequip, thats too long (talking WvW here obviously).

In PvP, the issue is the balancing algoritm. I played 6 matches yesterday. 4 of them had 3 mesmers on one time, 2 on the other (i was on the 3 mez time). Granted it was mez daily day, but still, its just ridiculus.

In fact, they get more fields than we do, and a lot more blasts on top of that. If “field generator” is a class aspect, why isn’t it applied universally? If it’s just a matter of your classes (as the class dev for specific professions) getting this design orientation, wouldn’t it be better to give up that design goal when other profession devs (like the ele dev) don’t want to play ball, and are just content giving their class all the toys?

Using this logic, I would be happy, as a d/d or even staff ele, to give you 2 of my blasts in exchange for a stealth skill. Or make our teleport like blink and be a stun breaker with alot more range. Would make the ele alot more diverse, don’t you think?

I’m not sure what the outrage over this is. If someone elects to leave the mists by using the ‘B’ button, they lose all guard stacks, they lose all sigil stacks, and more importantly, they are off the enemy team for a period of time.

This to me is even a greater win for your server/self than getting some leather strap drop. The only thing i can see where this would be unacceptable is if people want to humiliate folks they beat. In which case maybe that portion of the game should be removed.

Why not just make it so when bosses have RI they grant all npcs within the keep a reveal perk? When RI expires, itthe ability goes away. That way, when you capture a keep npcs will be able to assist in revealling any leftovers, but when RI runs off, its fair game… hidden mesmers would have to avoid players and npcs during the ri duration, and give defenders less area to lay stealth traps and aoes. Would also not hurt mesmers trying to sneak in to portal bomb, assuming the boss doesnt have RI…

if i’m condi, i can kill the entire camp (non upgraded) in about 10secs. The camps in the borderlands anyway. EB camps are more open and tougher to ball up. And you don’t have to attack the mobs to ball them up, just move close enough to them to aggro. yuo keep you out of combat speed until you get hit.

if i get them balled up properly (which is easy), IP+bt+rb toolbelt+fT 1 on supervisor. Boom, everyone is completely dead. Use FT 5 to prevent the kb from guard. If i mess up the ballup and a scout blinds my bt, i get my other condis on him and exlir x them. ifs its tornado, they imploded with the condis and kb. it its rampage it takes a few secs longer.

An upgraded camp takes me about ~45-60secs or so. I still ball them up, but a cabalist always seems to get the pull at the wrong time.. If too many camps are upgraded, i just switch to my condi ranger, who can drop those turkeys more easily…

Engineer has some good viability in the focus squad of a 20+ GvG/Raid. This is because of the trait ‘Lock On!’ which is very deadly for the opponent’s focus squad (specifically Thieves). For solo roaming we are very solid roamers, I’d say 2nd or 3rd of all the professions with Thief being number one of course.

2nd or 3rd for roaming? Thief, mesmer and condi ranger are pretty much solid clad top 3. d/d ele a bit ahead of eng for soloing as well.

its not a matter of not spotting the hacking/exploiting. Its a matter that they don’t care. Between the obvious Blacktide hackers (with videos), to the golem exploiters during that week long event..to a necro flying through the air today in EoTM, to a warrior teleporting around…. they do not care about WvW in the slightest.

If this was sPvP, they would be all over it….Thats really all they care about, aside from gem store and living story…

in my opinion, base movement is a bit slow. If each class had a signet that increased base movement speed to 25% (passive) AND its active improved vitality +xx% and was a stun breaker, then choosing this signet for most folks would be easier.

But some classes do not have a signet. Others have such a crappy active that its not worth taking.

This is a bit unfair. The condi eng has one, and only one shot at killing the necro. and thats the moa. They have very little non condi dmg or condi clear and if a necro gets the transfer, the eng implodes.

no. The problem isnt conditions. The problem lies in the fact that the majority of players are stuck in the ‘power’ syndrome, where they try to squeeze every single once of power dmg out of their spec. To do this, they sacrifice condi-clear.

Its their own fault they don’t bring condi-clear. This is why you do not see an uproar in spvp, as folks there will bring condi-clear…

The main reason people hate condis is because they don’t like having to bring condi cleanse which isn’t as useful when not fighting condi builds. And when they take a risk by not bring condi cleanse and get matched against condi builds, they rage.

Problem is, you get one necro, and and its over. he’ll transfer the condis back on yuo and you’ll implode. And a condi engi has no other dmg other than condi (if p/p), do the best you can hope for is to nail him with the ip-bt-rb-ft and then immediately moa him when he shrouds

personally, i liked the heroes. It gave us options. I played GW1 from release, and quite frankly the majority of the time my heroes out performed most pug groups.

Call it anti-social or whatever, but its nice to go your own speed at times. Stop, smell the roses, sip a coffee, answer a phone. Heroes never got ticked off if you stepped away or were just being slow and meticulous.

In todays game, all you see are speed runs, people wanting an AP>xxx, gotta be on teamspeak, gotta do x amount of dmg or get kicked, or even get to the end of the dungeon and get kicked for no reason other than the leader wants a friend to get credit on the last boss.

people are just upset that they cant run Zerk or cele armor with no condi-removal traits anymore. If they nerf condi, they should take every power skill/trait and nerf it by about 20%…

In my opinion Best Condi Classes = Necro, Ranger, Engie. Mesmer likes to tell itself that it’s good but it really isn’t.

you’ve got to be kidding. A PU mesmer using perpex runes is the best condi spec, bar none. (well, for roaming anyway, not for spvp). After that, I’d have to say Eng beats up a trap ranger slightly, but its very close. Out of those, the engi is much more engaging and fun, but thats a personal preference. I don’t have any experience with a burn guard (mine is power atm) or necro (i’m power necro all the way) so others may be able to chime in on those specs.

Warrior condi spec intrigues me a bit. Anyone have any success with that?

My preference is to make a utility slot solely for racial skills. (another f6 perhaps).
Each race has one skill that gives a speed boost out of combat.
Each race gives has one skill that gives a soft cc.
etc.

Make them more or less equal in power/function across all races, so one (like asura now) is not above and beyond the others.

Define Irony: If this bug would have resulted in folks getting a title, it would have been fixed in a day. But since it only deals with competitive advantages, and their gem store is not affected, they wont even comment on it.

Which begs the question: if anet doesnt comment on this issue at all, should we all just use the golem bug, as Anet doesnt care about it? I’m not one to use exploits, but if its the only way to be on a level field and still play WvW, perhaps its time to consider…

i really do not understand Anet’s aversion for posting videos. If the claim of cheating is confirmed, there is your proof. If the ‘cheat’ is not really a cheat, the community (or devs) can use the video as a reference to point out why it isnt cheating.

But this crap of protecting the guilty is concerning. Punish the folks that point out cheating, but not the cheaters themselves…cool move..

Well I hardly believe anyone was having fun in hotjoin except from farmers maybe.

I see this change as a real blow to sPVP actually. The folks that do HotJoin primarily are:

1. ones that just want to do their dailies quickly
2. ones that want to pop in, try new builds, pop out.
3. don’t take sPvP seriously
4. know they rage alot and can leave anytime they want…
5. Dont have much time and want to get some pvp in

Now you take the above folks and force them into unranked. One of two things will happen. These folks will join a match and either quit, afk, etc when things do not go well and they are stuck in there for awhile or they wont join at all.

Yeah, it may populate the unranked queue for a short time. But these folks played HJ for a reason, and when those reasons are not fulfilled in unranked, then they will stop queing (or become toxic)..

Personally, I liked to pop in HJ, pretty much ignore the win/loss and just kill people. I got burnt out of the unranked/ranked queues, with all the nonsensable jibber-jabber, elitism, unbalanced teams, premade crap, and time commitents. At least HJ allowed folks to leave these types of environment and still have fun in pvp..

They just need to undo their AA nerf on SB they made a year or so ago. When they slowed down the AA, it killed SBs dmg (non condi dmg anyw2ay) and made it less fluid..

Still use nades, they haven’t become worse since the patch dps wise. They still stack vuln better than anything else and they still deal great damage. I don’t know what this is all about … just because some obviously buggy trait has been disableded, everyone loses their minds?

i agree. The only difference is, that grenade barrage doesnt one shot anything anymore, which is good. Still does great damage, still get alot of kills. Only lost the crappy ‘oh-crap—time-for-you-die’ button

The biggest problem with this now, is people leaving early when it looks hopeless. No reason to waste 15 minutes when the first few minutes go a tad rough.

IMHO, rather than change the bosses HP, they should have collected data on how fast the world bosses were dropping with the new trait changes, then use this data to adjust the timers on the bosses. eg. If TQ is getting downed 75% of the time under 7 minutes, make his timer 7 minutes.

People are more likely to hang around for 10 minutes even if it looks bad. But 15+ minutes people tend to say ‘not worth the effort’ when the slightest thing goes bad.

This whole system will just get exploited. Here is how it will play out: Guild ‘X’ will gather all their members and get their guild hall/upgrades. Once thats done, Guild ‘x’ will represent each of their individual members ‘personal’ guilds, and these members 1-man guilds will get their halls/upgrades.

So basically, the big guilds will get their hall, and indirectly get their members their personal 1-man storage guilds their halls too. The only thing this change affects are the casual people who have their own guild or in a small guild.

Not sure why the influence is being changed so drastically. If they want to prevent small guilds and/or 1-man storage guilds, they should prevent you from having a guild with just one person in it. If they want to promote more guild activities, thats great, but they are other ways to go about it rather than alienating a large group of players. Casual players already get the short end of the stick (eg. fractals, dungeons, etc require a decent guild ‘usually’.)

with both GftE and WS enabled, it only shows weakness when mousing over the F2 skill. In testing, it seems the weakness is applied but the blind is not. tried different pets as well (eagle, drake, etc)..

For the female asura, I really like the exclusive double ponytails from the hair style kit. Dunno why, but it seems to fit when making a decent looking asura.

So, this thread was opened a while ago. People were hoping to see something from Guild Wars 1. Maybe get to explore parts of the world that are lost in the mist of time because we are unable to cross the crystal desert to elona or sail to cantha.

Now we have HoT. It’s the first expansion that we have seen in Guild Wars 2. Alot of debates going on over it right now. Not gonna touch on those with a ten foot pole, (oddly I know what that phase means now).

But I want Anet to remember this thread. I want them to think about the stuff we have been asking for since day one. There is alot of world out there yet. I want to explore it, my boots need new paths to roam and lets face it. I don’t know if HoT is gonna be enough.

i’d prefer Cantha. Those silly little scarabs things from elona still tick me off when i think about them…

imho, to make ascend armor ‘mean more’, they could have left the stats alone, make a NPC in each city that allows you to change the stats on each ascend piece for a small fee.

This would :

1. People would only need one ascended set per character
2. help people gear up alts
3. allow people to switch between builds
4. people would want to craft ascended for the convenience.
5. competitive balance in game modes (eg. WvW especially) remains somewhat normal.

Right now, with the time gated nonsense and the extreme cost in materials, you have to be sure what stats you want on the armor. And then if you want to switch between say zerk and condition, you would need a whole other set.

I really do not think the $50 is what most people are really upset about. Its the most obvious and easiest thing to use as a scapegoat.

The real issue is the nickle and diming. Had Anet included a character slot and perhaps a unique account bound item (bank slot? inventory bag? etc) for the $50, people might have hemmed and hawed a bit, but at least they could point to the price and say they got something tangible for value.

I really hope HoT has alot of content. the backlash will be immense if there is only one Silverwaste-like area, one pvp map and one LS, all of which will be completed in 2-3 days.

If the intent was to make more people craft ascended armor, while not upsetting the folks who already crafted it and devalue their existing armor, they should have:

1. left the stats alone (ascended is 5% more than exotic)
2. create a npc in each city and guild hall that allows a user to change the stats on their ascended armor.

So it is now a 4%-8% one. Well great. So it’s no longer optional. Well done, ANet.

All content that could be completed without it before can still be completed without it after, thus it is optional.

That may be true now, but I reckon going forward the HoT content will be more difficult. If Silverwastes is any indication, Anet is getting smarter about coding the mobs. But hey, enjoy your advantage. But i will not be one of the sheep that will pay an exorbant amount of gold for the mats because everyone now is jacking the prices up 900%.

With this change, and the trait/skills changes, its almost paying a completely new game. The more frustrating Anet makes this process, with armor, skills or whatever, people will start thinking ‘if i have to start over anyway, mind as well start over in a new game..’

What they should have done with ascended is leave the stats alone (eg. straight 5% increase over exotic), but make the stats on it user changeable.

That way, there would be a drive for most players to get the armor and invest in it, and the players that already have it dont have to worry about it not being worth their initial investment.

As it is now, you got 2 types of folks that like this change: the ones that have the gear and will have the advantage in WvW/pve, etc. And the ones that have damask all saved up that will net them a landfall in money. The rich get richer basically.

I’m monitoring this carefully though. Of all the changes, this one has me concerned the most. If the new HoT content requires ascended armor, then i’m out. With 9+ characters that I play equally, theres no way i can gear them all up (not to mention the time sink in there) to play the new content. Again, assuming the difficulty level is balanced around the new ascended stats.

how about a simple way to save your builds?

On the topic of sub verus f2p, we cannot say which model is the best financially for the companies involved. However, in my experience with both types, I’ve found that the upkeep/patches/balancing/new content is VASTLY better in a sub game than in a f2p game.

The f2p companies, right or wrong, give me the vibe that its just ‘maintaining to shut up their character base, and lure then into cash transactions’. Whereas the sub companies have to pump out the content/updates to keep the subs (and money) rolling in…

I feel like a lot of people misunderstood OP. What he(/she) asks doesn’t increase the value of bag slots; he simply asks that you should have the ability to move already purchased bag slot expansions between characters, this way if you want to delete a character with expanded invectory that doesn’t go to waste.

i agree with this. Though I would prefer Anet implement a build saving/swapping mechanism similar to gw1, where you can save armor sets into a build ‘wardrobe’ and keep them out of your inventory. I’d pay gems for an account-wide number of build saves that would store armor sets on that build in a special wardrobe.

if its going to take this long (we are already months in), why not just reenable the HoM rewards, fix the bug at your leisure and when implemented take away all HoM titles/rewards from everyone and force everyone to revisit the HoM to get them back.

That way, folks that didnt do the work in GW1 wouldnt be able to get these rewards back, and in the meantime folks who did earn the rewards can use the items now and when fixed with the minor inconvience of revisitng EotN.
