I dont understand them then as there are many good players out there, and a pug turns into an organized one with ts when they know tacs. Sure they could do that if it only could be achieved in a soloq where u had to end in legendary league in three seasons with a minimum required active participants (that should somehow match the time and difficulty of raids).

None seem to know this answer, esp the last part. My take is that druid can top off any competent raid party, as the tempest, so from a healing pov it currently doesnt matter as everyone has their supportive skills to bring. Good teams dont need more heals over time than the burst healing druid provide due to raid mechanics.
But if the overall raid damage druid provides through gotl and utilities surpasses the overall damage tempest provides, then id say druid is still best, as competent teams can kill bosses faster and doesnt relay as much on heals due to player mistakes. This is something all raid groups wants to aim for in order to beat the bosses.

I was just looking over the collection achis for the legendary pvp backitem, and I was wondering, must one focus on the same 2 classes in each tier? Or once u finish 2 classes in tier one and advance to the next, can u pick up 2 new classes and advance in tier 2 to 3? (would be boring if one had to follow the same two classes all the way to 1 to tier 4).

I havent looked that much indept, but this whole precursor collection looks like just a time gate, u arnt locked into having to reach a certain league?

Asperger syndrome is a condition that means i don’t have the ability to interact or communicate with people.I do not expect anet to design content around my or anyone else s needs.
But up until now they have been able to provide choices and different ways to get to ones goals.This unfortunate change in direction by anet now excludes a lot of players.

Then that is indeed unfortunate. Despite this i do believe there is such an open guild out there that would take u in and treat u right. One can only hope that as time goes by pugs can easier clear it without ts. The only reason a player wouldnt be able to do the raids would be due to not knowing the know how, but if u got that the rest shouldnt stop u so keep trying n dont give up.

I like having a group content that is more organized with actual roles. The problem with the first raid is it’s not accessible to everyone. You basically can’t pug it.

The guild i usually raid with had to few members on so I had to pug yesterday (as I wanted to explore more), and the pug beat gorseval. So raids are puggable, it all depends if you’re good enough. As weeks goes by more and more people will have a clear understanding of how each raid boss works, making it easier to pug.

There’s a lot of people siting on a lot of gold.I saved up 11k just for legendary armor just to find out im locked out of getting it as it behind raids.And im not one of the chosen few in a guild running raids.Seems crazy to lock the vast majority of players out of legendary armor.

Let me help you then since evil Anet doesnt have a system implemented for people in your unfortunate position.
If your guild doesnt want to raid with you, find out why. If you have the insight you should be able to evaluate your own performance, like ‘do i need to get better at x to reach this goal’. Or maybe your guild doesnt have enough people to make another raid, the possibilities are endless. Luckily you can easily find other guilds, i recommend large community ones as they often have several raids while many guilds in general take those that respond the fastest in chat.
You can also pug raids, check the lfg often, myself beat gorseval yday in a pug granted i was quite lucky to find skilled people – but its all about being aware and making sure u end up in true organized groups.

All it takes for u is to begin somewhere, make new friends and slowly built up a network.

Legendary armor has the potential to be truly legendary as one cannot solely buy their way to awesome skins, which unfortunately has been the past of gw2.

Forming a team is easy, building it up and making sure every1 contributes to a common competitive goal is something else. Yeah thats not hard at all.

Or why not ask the same question again, why no soloq. There r good soloers hindered by the design decision in having both team and solo in same ranked q. This is competitve at a whole new level.

The Gor fight is anti Spirits as adds go to them hurting the pull. Tempest could absolutely heal tank that fight with a good raid team. I’d want one or 2 of the others dropping an occasional heal to take some of the pressure off the Tempest but that’s more piece of mind than necessity.

I make sure to time spirits for the dps phases, but if overall dmg is still in druids favor or equal i dont see myself swapping

It’s actually extremely obvious to tell who is performing poorly at Gorseval, you don’t need ALERTS saying Paul Butler Balls is underperforming you can evidently see him failing to immobilize, clear orbs, tank and so on.

More importantly raids aren’t supposed to be pug friendly, it was explicitly mentioned that you require an organized team to complete them.

If you were competent enough to find a decent team to raid with you wouldn’t have any issues.

When ppl say pug in gorseval then it should be an organized run if u want to have a shot. It is completely random whether its a guild run or a pug joining in, there is no real indicator to meassure their DPS. A player can play mechanics well, but still do poorly in the DPS dept. Ofc lots factors into this, just wanted to chime in as performance among guild members can vary alot, while ive had success most of the time when lf a pug or two.

Their wording make it sound almost as if u need to be pretty good, above mediocre, to get it, even with more time. We’ll see how it pans out. But this item, the legendary, should be very hard to get, as leg armor is since it too locks out many players that doesnt invest into high end pve (tho thats an entire set)

The raids are puggable, u just gotta show some initiative and add the good players to friendslist and slowly build up a base of 10 players. Raids are all about having people who know how to do several things at once and understand the mechanics.

The downside is that its so kitten time consuming lol, especially if u have a party that wipes often due to mistakes and its clear some ppl wont improve themselves. If we could only know when next raid wing is out so we wouldnt have to rush it that much in the start. By the looks of the legendary Collection one must kill gorseval 5 times, and sab 1, and then thats perhaps it for Spirit Vale?

I do agree with OP on the fact that it can be very frustrating if some of your raid members arnt up to par. Ive spent hrs every night wiping, often cuz others do mistakes, and it burns me out but gotta get that leg armor. A solo raid would be nice, liadri style only harder :P

Ive always felt sorry for my aussie brothers in mmorpgs. If i had 250 400 ping i wouldnt bother with the genre

Id prefer having less clunky-stuck in animation abilities, forcing the warr to swing away while enemy is actively engaged (loosen abilities up, like instead of GS #5 being a charge line give us superspeed for some secs and on 2nd press u deal its damage), and generally make us more able to stay on target.

All these comments made me log onto my ele and yes the fireball is indeed a peanut, to the extreme lol. It reminds me of when i first tried my juggernaut legendary on the Warrior, it lacks real meaty weight like any other true hammer.

It gave me an epic feel killing Voldemorth, cuz of the 2 warmup fights earlier as well. Fights were challenging, and then the scene after with Trehearne, I liked it. It was a different “ending” that was different from zhaitan, Im glad there wasnt a party, why would there.

I’d like to add the frustration that we lose our map participation % when taxing. Often when you do events the map you’re on turns out to be empty/ppl leave to other maps for metas. And if u manage to get into a taxi via lfg you lose all ur %, giving u much less rewards. That is broken, and yet devs do nuthin. I keep throwing G’s at the gemstore but nothing is happening either.

Wow, didn’t think this would blow up like this (I am the OP) I just kinda was really depressed that particular night (after leaving the guild that was excluding me, well and others) and decided to just kinda rant on here.

I have enjoyed reading the responses here, and I guess I didn’t put a lot of clarification in my original post. No I was not excluded for my lack of skill, which btw, no one had any good skill at this raid going into it, well maybe except for DnT but that doesn’t count. Even the most hardcore among you had to practice the raid encounters until you got it down. I am skilled, I want to spend hours every night raiding, but my guild was flat out excluding others.

I asked every single night for a spot, if they had an opening, they would fill it with another Officer, over me, it was just absolutely disheartening, and yeah, was overall a terrible guild. But I have moved on and have found a guild that I hope to be raiding with very soon

I guess the point I was trying to make is that if people WANT to learn it in a guild, then the leaders shouldn’t be uber selfish and exlude others cause they want to do it and well, screw the rest of the guild. Why even be part of guild leadership if you don’t want to, idk, lead your guild? Help them improve if they want to?

Oh and about forming my own group, yeah, tried that, with a few guildies and pugs…. Pugs and raids don’t really mix, I want a fully dedicated guild group, not some pugs, every attempt never ended well.

U find pugs and the good ones u keep, u dont go find new ones every day

As people progress and become more competent (less mistakes), it is also nice to have a healer who can aid in finishing the fight faster – druid raid damage trait and utilities

If ur asking for complexity then warr isnt really any better. Both rev n warr have their cds to time, so since warr was used as an example ill have to disagree.

I’ve played enough PvP that’s being plagued by this what I see as unbalanced specialization and frankly its ruining the fun for me. Its Tough, It does a lot of damage, and its got the crowd control to make sure it can get it off. Fighting against them seems to be like fighting against a brick wall where no amount of effort will make a difference. The only Reapers I’ve seen be beaten often seem inexperienced and simply ‘bad’ at PvP and even then it usually takes 2 or more people just to down and finish them in a timely manner. In all honesty I think the Reaper is a bloody cool specialization but I don’t think it’s fair in PvP right now. So I’m asking: Will Reapers be getting a nerf? and How can we do it without ruining the fun of the class?

No offense but this is nothing but a fairytale with pretty words. Nothing u say describe any specific that makes a reaper op, for what i could gather is the almighty reaper that has +1200 amu in all stats with 5 specializations with reaper ES aka every other ES that is out there (as all classes part from berserker) are quite stronk.
Also, since we r being so vague here, just cuz 1 class build beats ur one main class doesnt make it OP.

As a healer u will be sitting in staff nonstop, without it u cant build astral force fast enough to use caf off cd constant. Since i have the coin i use full zealot and put some clerics on when tanking 2nd boss. In any event our dmg doesnt make all that big dif when we are heal and staff focused, if the raid worry about ur dps then some of their 9 members arnt doing their dps role (or u can improve on spreading gotl, frost spirit, sun spirit, empowerment glyph)

Just wanted to give my two cents. I went to a TD map 35 mins before the meta started, and one commander started organizing, he was by himself. Eventually more people came that was already in the map + taxis in and we finished the meta, no organized guilds/ts used.

Prep 30 mins before start, have commanders split members evenly, and of course individual skill counts as it seemes like we had people spread out that knew their thang. Of course this is known to many by now, just wanted to repeat it, it’s doable and def seemes easier than tripple trouble.

Itll never be 10%, thatll have an impact on market. Even if u fail in raids u can still obtain asc boxes in there at least every 2nd week from mag shards so theres nothing stopping u

Adding my vote for this, it is a visual clutter and something quickly thrown together.. make em look like floating crystals instead n then were onto somerhing

Or join big community guilds and start raiding or use the lfg. As u start raiding ull join many fail groups but theres always a few good ones in it, whisper them and expand ur friendslist.. eventually ull have 9 other good players for a raid, ive done it and so has others. Yes it takes time in the start, but look at it as an investment, itll pay off in the future and save u alot of time and frustration

I wear full zealot on all bosses, but mix in clerics for tank role on second. But truth is the different is really not that big, because most of the time we will be doing staff AA which is doing quite low damage anyway. If ur worried and see that the raid needs your damage difference with zealot compared to a less damage orientated healing gear, it simply means that someone among your other 9 raid members arnt doing their job at dealing damage. And that’s okay cuz raids are still new for so many players, it can be stressful to dish out optimal rotation when having to pay attention to everything else.
As damage dealers gets more competent, the “damage pressure” some druids feel will lighten up. We provide great burst heals and raid damage, the rest is up to the other raid members. But of course, if you have the coin, it doesnt hurt using zealot gear, and sadly many pug groups out there want druids with zealot, pugs are picky as theyre risky.

i totally agree! I remember when the game came out and sold it like a different MMO, saying that it was about skill and esthetics, meant to have fun and no farming! Now i have to stop playing because i dont have much time to play, and the time i have i want to spend it playing! ,not farming in old zones killing the same mobs and crafting unending components just to get 1 piece of gear…

The problem (at least mine) is that for Exotic gear, you just had to play in the end zones and do some dungeons and you could craft it really fast and enjoy the game. For ascended gear, i open the crafting panel and when i look at all the things i need … i end up closing it and doing pvp… i mean , you need a lot of gold to buy everything or you have to spend your time farming, which ruins the spirit of the game!

Now its just like any other mmo in wich you play 5 hours a day or dont even bother in loging in

I’ve gained sets of ascended armor by doing the content you just described. Of course it happened over one and a half year of play, but still I didnt have to craft it. I gained weapon chests from tequatl, armor from tripple trouble, from pvp, from fractals, basically content we were playing before Heart of Thorns. You could and can even swap the stats on ascended in the mystic forge, preventing the need to craft new, which is expensive.

If you have a problem with this, then you either need to rethink if you can enjoy content at a slower phase or if mmorpgs are for you. Level 80 is max, ascended is max.. if you get that then you’re go, unlike other mmos they dont increase Level and gear stats. Sure we have to get some masteries tied to the zones from now that u want to play in, but thats the only progression we get.. without this then what else is there to progress in?

Aside from raids, theres still a huge game out there to be enjoyed. Often I come across players who are a bit salty cuz they cant raid, but in the end it’s on their end because they didnt prep for raids, they didnt try to get into groups, they didnt understand that they had gameplay issues they needed to improve on. Raids are here to stay, either adapt or dont play it, the stats on gear in them are the same as the ascended you can gain by playing your normal type of content.

Anet really lost focus and just tried imitating other mmos. Truth is it’s a huge disappointment, it’s just been made hard to hide the tiny amount of endgame instanced content HoT came with.

Everyone I know was about to give up on GW2 because they were tired of doing easy and tedious content.

No previous skin was worth spending hours to obtain because the game offered no alternative progression, after mashing your face against a wall 20 times for an hour or two without worrying about your rotation/build people started quitting.

Anet really regained focus by opening up the game to more playertypes by looking at other mmos. Truth is it’s a huge improvement as we now have the chance to better ourselves as players and work towards skins that cant be bought or gained without strategy, a nice addition to the tiny amount of endgame instanced content HoT came with.

If only OP could play in ESL then he wouldn’t have to deal with those pesky dragonhunters

Organized communities are doing it, but its very hard to get in as taxis fills up so fast. One could stay in a map the full 1 2 hrs till meta starts and hope itll be an organized map, but the chances r so slim with the amount of map ips we got. It’s also frustrating to see all our map contribution % goes away when forced to change maps.
