Go on a chest farm hunt in silverwastes. It nets you bandit crests which you can use to buy OBI shards easily.

second this, plus obi shards drop from the chests sometimes too.

skill points appear on the map at level 13, vistas appear at level 10. World completion information shows at level 15 iirc. if you are below those levels, you will not see them.

go to the black lion armorsmith (there should be one near the trading post), with the character who had the outfit, the npc should give you the outfit back.

it happened because town clothes were taken out, but your outfit is still there, you just can’t see it or access it without visiting that npc.

do you have all the new hearts added with the NPE in September? if you haven’t that could be why it is at 99% even though you have world completion rewards.

If a character has attained map completion for a zone, and that zone at a later date has new items added, those new items need to be discovered in order to unlock the world completion medal and achievement, but not in order to get the world completion reward chest.

posting this just in case

if the song doesn’t play on character select, then close the game, right click the playlist and select open with. notepad might not show on the list, so click select default program.

in the box that opens, click the little arrow next to Other Programs, scroll through them and select notepad. make sure you untick the box next to always use the selected program and click ok.

what opens will look something like this:

you need to edit the file location so it is the full path, like this:

after that, save and open the game again. it should now play on the character select screen. then close and rename as above.

oh, I didn’t realise you were putting an mp3 in the folder.

you need to create a playlist using winamp or mediaplayer. you can have a playlist with only one song in it. save the playlist into the folder in C:\Users\ME\Documents\Guild Wars 2\Music

name the playlist MainMenu, then open the game. if the song plays on the character select screen then all is good, and you don’t need to edit it.

close the game and rename the playlist depending on where you want the song to play
Ambient – Default playlist when no other criteria are met
Battle – “Large” fights involving many foes (~5 or more enemies); some personal story steps; PvP
BossBattle – World bosses and some Dungeon bosses; some personal story steps; some Activities
City – When inside one of the main cities, such as The Black Citadel, but not always
Defeated – Upon being Defeated
MainMenu – At the character select screen
NightTime – When in some explorable areas and it is nighttime (the moon is out)
Underwater – Any time the breathing apparatus is equipped. Overrides most other playlists

creating the folder usually does work, however the way playlists are created sometimes means they don’t fully work with GW2.

try editing the playlist in notepad (or something similar), and making sure the song has the full location path in it. this usually helps GW2 to find the song properly.

I think it is intended, but I’m not sure, it’s been a while for me since I first installed. try selecting a world, and then, if you still can’t select anything or exit, I’d suggest contacting support.

the puzzle has been bugged for a while, however, if you have gone through the portal with the buff you get (even if you got teleported with it telling you it was wrong), you can go back to the start of the puzzle, find the golem assistant by the gate and select the next region, as if you did go there.

for example if you’ve gone through the chilly part, with the tuned buff and the portal throws you back to the start, you can jump off the edge and select Goemm’s Lab from the golem assistant at the start of the puzzle.

the reason this is coming up is because when you login for the first time the game wants you to choose a home world. you can’t do anything until you have done that.

Edit to add: a home world is the server you will play on.

The gloves also from the first time you complete Tangled Paths but you have to open the box from the Master of Peace.

what level are you (yes that’s a big thing)? if you’re below level 13 (or 15, I forget which), that will be why they’re missing.

in the map screen (press m) look for the little eye icon at the bottom left. click that and make sure everything is ticked.

try guesting to another server, it sometimes helps.

that is true, but the boots, gloves and chest piece are not awarded through story.

it is rewarded for doing the story once (the achievement). doing the story on other characters won’t award the box, as it is an achievement reward, not a story reward, but you can purchase it for bandit crests or get it as a rare drop from bandit chests and the greater nightmare pod.

sounds like the heal skill on your asura is on auto attack, you can change this by holding ctrl and right-clicking a different skill (the first skill on the bar is usually best).

1 .Right/ctrl-click GuildWars2.app and choose ShowPackageContent
2. Find Contents>Resources>CiderSettings.plist
3. Using TextEdit find this line:

you have to do the achievements to get it.

when swapping armor pieces, from one piece to another (not transmuting), dye colours applied to the first armor are not always saved and applied to the second. this sounds like what happened to you Syntaek. just re-dye your armor using the dye tab in the hero panel if you want the ebony colour again

Unless you have Ebony unlocked in your Dye Wardrobe, that color will not carry over to different armor you equip. Same with any dye, really.

you will have a long wait I think, it can be purchased with bandit crests already, but only when you have finished the achievements… because of that, it seems unlikely that they will add it in there normally.

Gigameister, try clicking and holding the mouse button first, then pressing down the alt key before dragging. Mac can be a bit wonky sometimes, but it is still the alt key that is used.

no Armorsmiths can’t do what you want for your ranger. the info you saw is correct that they can only craft heavy armor. only Leatherworkers can craft medium armor, which is what you need for crafting armor for your ranger.

if you are on the same map, going from one side to the other, it uses (consumes) the item (I have used one).

wasted, to me, implies that the item is still used, but you go nowhere.

you can stop it from sending you towards the story. just press f11, on the first tab you see find where it says Content Guide. in the drop down menu next to it select ‘Disable Personal Story’ that will stop the guide from directing you towards personal story, and instead focus on events, hearts, etc.

open up your contacts list (y). by your name you will see a drop down menu, this sets your status (online, invisible, and away). make sure it is set to online. hope that helps

edit: there have been times where I have forgotten to reset my status to online, and logged in invisible, that’s why I’m suggesting this. there was a change sometime recently that made it so that your last status is what you log in as.

if they are masterwork, then they will be account bound, including the back skins. skins bought for tokens usually are account bound anyway, regardless of rarity.

this isn’t a bug. skill challenges now unlock at level 13, so if your friend is below that, they won’t be able to do the skill challenge.

I had this problem too, with this one and the one in No Refuge. after trying guesting, ignoring the NPCs, logging in and out (which was annoying, and the other things never worked), I tried quitting the story section (by selecting to start a different one) and then re-selecting to replay the section I was having problems with. it was a last ditch attempt, and it surprisingly worked.

map information, like your friends have, gets unlocked at around level 15 if I remember right. after that, it is permanently unlocked across your account for all other characters.

when I did WvW for map completion I didn’t have much of a problem, but then I didn’t just go there for map completion. okay that was my main goal, but instead of focusing on that, I just played WvW. the map completion came naturally, and I actually enjoyed the experience. it made me try something different, and I’m glad that I did.

I don’t think this is a bug. selling things on the trading post has always sent out the pigeon, so it makes sense that when you change your mail carrier, that would change too.

you don’t have to click the letter, it only shows you where your home instance is. you can go into your home instance and start the quest without even opening the mail, or getting the letter.
