Natural Stride is also 33%.
And I don’t think it stacks with Signet of the Hunt.

Could you please move the electric wyvern & tiger pets to more accessible locations?
Gating them behind an event chain that can take 2 hours & may or may not succeed is bad design.
I don’t mind pets being hard to find.
I do mind them being locked behind content.
And ours is the only class this affects.

Having to go through a 2 hour event chain JUST for a pet is a bit on the ridiculous side.
So both the tiger & electric wyvern are gated behind that 2 hour event chain.

While I appreciate that he fixed AF decay out of combat, I’ll be REALLY pleased if he can adjust AF gain off of weapons besides staff.
And reverse the Smokescale change.

I really don’t see why it can’t be made to function like death shroud.
At this point, I’ll be happy with ANYthing (besides spamming staff 1) reliably generating AF at a decent rate.

Hey all,
I’m looking into the combat degen resulting in too heavy a gating of Celestial Avatar in PvE situations; from what I saw over the weekend it seemed overly restrictive in open world battles. If this continues it then the degeneration when out of combat is likely to be removed.
Yes, please remove the degen.
Also, can we get the Smokescale’s F2 swapped back to the smoke field?

Alright, so I succeeded in killing the dragon. But in the time available could not find my way to the hero point .. (9 minutes) Someone suggested that without ley line gliding it won’t be possible..
you’ll probably need full gliding, and 9 billion more xp worth of crap to do it.
stock up on XP potions and go find yourself a good botting program and AFK the zone….yes there are thousands doing this already. Followed a pack of 5 bots around last night for nearly an hour.
That’s a good way to get your account banned.
And yes, they’ll find/ban those bots.
I do disagree with gating some of our pets behind zone events.

They’ve already removed our elite spec. Why not the sounds, too?
Just make it a clean sweep & delete us altogether.
It is just bait and switch, I am surprised that people are surprised.
1) Druid was not ready for release nor have the pets been.
2) BWE3 druid version was a fake version to make the druid appealing so that rangers would buy the expansion. New pets were overpowered and actually useful.
3) After release, nerf everything to the ground, because people got the expansion out of hype already.This has happened a hundred times before in MMO releases. ANet just adapted to the common standards.
Logic fail. If that’s the case, then why was Ranger the only class that this happened to?
And how does only doing it to one class benefit them?
We have now our very own dev, so I’m positive, especially since HoT just launched and they need to keep track of the balance, that this thread will be read by the devs.

Smokescale will drop it’s smoke field as soon as it’s off cooldown. And almost every time as it’s opening attack. What good is this to anyone in any game mode?

Ranger is the only class that gets IMMEDIATE attention EVERY time we get something good/useful. Druid in BWE3 was very close to awesome. Just needed some tweaking as others have said.
HoT launches and it’s gutted.
Smokescale’s original F2 gave us a variety of ways to be useful in pve/pvp/wvw.
Nerfed/swapped 24 hours later.
And let’s not talk about the WHaO fiasco.
But they’re not reading any of this, or caring if they do.

I have talked to Irenio a lot, and I’ll continue to talk to him. And I’ll talk to, wave my hands in the air, and natter with any other dev who wants to get the feedback of a not-very-good-but-absolutely-passionate Ranger.
I’m sorry to dredge this up like this, but I can’t help but comment on it. I want to believe this. The problem is that the Druid, in its HoT launch state, is a crushing disappointment. I have yet to be able to use the Celestial Avatar Form even twice during a single PvP match. Not only is the Druid’s performance far below its BWE3 level (which was already far below such heavy hitters as the Reaper, Chronomancer, and Herald), our best new pet is being gutted. Not nerfed, gutted. 50% damage reduction is bad, too heavy handed in fact, but I can see the point. Removing our control of its smoke field is appalling. That is already one of the major issues with the ranger: we have little control over our own fields, finishers, and cc. All of this came without a discussion, and without an explanation. Not to sound like a broken record, but Roy keeps his Revenant players appraised of changes to the profession, and has ensured that the profession itself is strong (overpowered, if we’re being frank). Meanwhile, the Druid’s entire mechanic has become all but useless in 95% of the game, and is both nearly inaccessible and underperforming (due to the lack of stability which was brought up repeatedly over Beta Weekend) in sPvP.
Basically, we really, really need an explanation and a constructive discussion about how to salvage this train wreck.

I am so happy. Player-owned minions will now take 95% reduced damage and condition duration from nonplayer attacks that do not specifically target them. When the attack specifically targets the minion, then it will deal full damage and condition duration.
This is making pets not useless anymore!

Honestly, at this point, it feels like the CA & Smokescale nerfs were done “Because They Can.”
- Celestial Avatar Form: Skills that heal have had their base heals reduced by 15-25% and increased their healing coefficients from 100-145%. This should leave base heals solid while really rewarding players who elect to use healing power stats.
This is a lie…
And it’s far from the only one.
It’s changes like this one that really reinforce the belief among ranger players that the class is a joke to the dev team.

Anything as strong (or inconvenient) as a smoke field must have better control than might stacking. You can’t just use smoke fields all willy nilly and get good results
Even if they use it most of the time after such and such skill, I’m tired of trying to plan around the AI decisions.
the smoke field is controllable, that’s what I’m telling u guys. it comes right after the Smoke Assault. test it out for yourself. if you don’t want the smoke field there and then, don’t cast Smoke Assault. it’s very easy for people to pick up on this as they start seeing more smokescales in pvp.
No, it isn’t. It’s dependent on the Smokescale’s AI. And for a skill like this, that’s horrible.

personally, id prefer to have the on-demand might stacks and extra burst. I know u wanted the smoke field for your opener, but try to see the bright side – good for might-stacking (theyre practically giving us easy access to 25 stacks), and for on-demand burst. if your smokescale has 25 stacks (very easy), he hits for 8k. that’s easy for me to argue though, because I don’t have a team depending on me for the smoke field. I prefer the extra offense over the tactical.
we can still use the smoke tactically when the pet drops it. almost always, he’ll drop it right after u cast Smoke Assault. so it’s still kind of on-demand. again I know ure highly biased because u wanted to have it for your “team’s” opener, but you’ll just have to use the thief. or maybe this change is wrecking your guys’ comp? i feel the change is overall better for the profession.
again, I’m asking the devs (voting) to leave the smokescale as it is now. I will say that you also have to be a little bit more sensitive toward the ranger community. you keep taking things away from people, without buffing other aspecs and fixing our bugs. this is making for a ton of extremely unhappy customers…so just be careful here.
