The spirit weapons are very easy to side step. For downed players it provides good cleave (sword) but with how often players are moving, it fails to hit more than it would compared to ToF.

Yes I’ve been playing since beta and I understand that we know what we have. I can even understand people’s points when they say they see a bunch of glaring issues. With all that said…I still don’t think we can make such confident claims of the spec being totally useless without some testing.

It may well turn out to be bad…it doesn’t look great. However, claiming that it is bad as an irrefutable fact this early on is a bit much for me.

Ppl were shouting DH and traps were bad before hot, ppl tested it and it was garbage but they buffed it later cause US (not whiteknights) shouting how bad it is. Same here long cds, big casting times trash traits, no movement trait as a condi brawler, … As someone said I dont need to press buttons to see how bad this spec is. Its just look flashy with those animations but 0 usability.

Pretty much this. The Firebrand gimmick on keeping Quickness up to cast the long skills just isn’t feasible and just reeks of odd and bad design. We’re also stuck in melee range with no movement modifiers with a pull on axe3 (if I recall).

Unless we see some sweeping changes with core and right after the preview play this weekend, it’s DH all over again.

Meditrapper is still fine in platinum.

TF2 has overhealing and Overwatch has Lucio ult that provides additional health that decays.

Mesmers get 25% movement speed increase in a Chrono minor trait and now get superspeed with Mirage.

Firebrand looks good on paper attacking stationary targets (read, PvE) but I’m having an extremely hard time seeing this doing well at any level of PvP.

The item listed after “Transmuted” is considered the original item. If your “Transmuted” item says “Ardent Glorious Plate Helm” it means you only changed the skin on the item, not reforged it in the Mystic Forge and it will be upgradable. When you reforge the stats in the MF, that item name changes to like “Transmuted: Yassith’s Breastplate” and that would not be upgradable.

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve reforged probably 1.5 sets of ardent glorious into standard ascended armor. I cried a little as I was making the recipes for the PvP versions.

I took Kiera into the way back to start and let all of the NPCs die. Then she just auto attacked and I just ran our until around 4:30 when all NPCs died and I stealthed, revived all of the downed NPCs and that’s that.

Like usual wave events, the next wave only spawns when the previous is killed.

Precision Blade is a simple DPS race. By the time she escapes, you should be on your last wave, which is super powered. You only need to zerk them down before they kill off all your helpers.

Hold the Line is a joke. Don’t bother killing them and just stall. Let all the NPCs die and only Kiera (Anise) will survive, because she’s immortal. Hide in the back and let her agro the full wave, tanking it for as long as you want.

I’ve been attempting this cheeve and standing in the back doesn’t work. The mobs teleport to you and it’s game over from there. I’ve been stuck at 4:30 with using Mesmer stealths for as long as I can. Still going at it…

Voice is the last thing that’s keeping pvp down. Did we all forget about the balance and specs as being the absolute main thing to look into?

Unfortunately, a lot of things that sound neat are precluded by design decisions made when the game was in the planning stages. Ostensibly, the barriers to this idea include dyes not behaving the same way on different materials and the need to do 200% more clipping checks on each piece of armor. There’s also the profession recognition argument in WvW, but I don’t get that one as one can wear outfits there.

I’d love to see it. I have seen no discussion by ANet that indicates this could happen. I don’t think it’s likely.

But professions don’t have different character models maybe other than the off ability. I just don’t see the necessity to keep it as it is today.

I’ve never understood for the restriction when armor weight doesn’t provide any benefit at all.

Any plans on removing the class armor restriction and opening up all armor pieces to any class? I’m not a huge fan of the heavy armor and would love to use light armor on my Guardian.

I feel like other wvw issues should’ve been addressed because this is so slow on what would reinvigorate wvw.

Pretty disappointing spec really if you find the condi meta boring. I like playing power shatter. With mes you have to choose power or condi. There is no effective in-between like with some classes. On top of that if this new spec follows Chrono it’ll get nerfed into the ground, while they buff Warr and Guard even more. Also screw going back to traveler runes.

I don’t see anything I like about this spec at all.

100% “ranged” power DPS weapon/elite.

You have more sustain with Chronophantasma Shatter build but its not necessarily spike damage. Power Shatter has the high spike damage that some like to play.

You can almost play any build in ranked and do well. Meta builds exist for meta comps playing in tournaments but for ranked, it’s not mandatory.

Seriously what did the 5 players do wrong? They entered a tournament, lets just say as charity work for the community. They brought excitement to PvP by playing with 5 PvE players accounts to bring the hype. The won the tournament fair and square, seriously S1- S4 gave out Legendary titles to many players who play ion Silver league.

Yes its Jebros tournament but the short man syndrome is getting really bad.

You can’t understand what the players for Abj did “wrong” by taking money and playing other peoples accounts that goes against GW2s TOS?

Just because ANet is lax about the integrity of PvP doesn’t mean other tournaments need to follow suit.

There really are no surprises in PvP as to who is good, which teams are playing at the current top tier, and getting a sense as to who will be in the finals.

Not saying that Jeff and his team is the be all end all but going up against these completely rando’s is highly suspect in itself. Obviously at this point, nothing is 100% but adding to the pile of “stuff” with Ben’s announcement and Jeff’s video, and Abj/random pvers not defending themselves with at least one post has that needle pointing hard at guilty.

I have no hand in this whatsoever as I don’t participate in the ATs but if they’re just handing out dishonor to these people then they have every incentive to do this next time. Hell, I’ll take $400 to play on someone’s account and win if it meant useless game dishonor.

It’s also rumoured and I had a source confirm over a year ago it was going to be condi dps with buffing our phantasms which is probably where the strange change to iSwordsman came from. Could have changed since my source last played the alpha/beta but yeah we will see soon no doubt.

I heard the same and that it was eventually morphed into a more traditional dps spec but who knows at this point. I just want a dps elite. :-|
