I like my original idea of making Staff 1 1200 range, 360 degree.

It’s much easier to maximize condition damage because you can essentially just stack one stat: Condition Damage.

With power, you have to get power, ferocity, and precision. Marauder does help bridge that gap but with Dire, you get condition damage, toughness, and vitality which helps so much in survivability through attrition.

Guys if the mesmer with all its blinks, portals and stealth gets movement speed, Guardian should get it too. End of the story.

Mesmer has 1 blink ability, portals are useless for personal speed and stealth only helps with movement if you have PU traited. Dragonhunters have 2 leaps (gs #3 & f2), 2 targeted teleports (sword #2 600 range, and a 1200 range meditation) and probably the easiest access to swiftness of any profession.
Also you could potentially argue to get anything on a profession by comparing it to another.

Mesmer has Continuum Split where blink can be used twice.
Phase Retreat on staff 2 which can be used while stunned/kd/cc.
Illusionary Leap which is a swap at 600 units teleports you to the target.
And of course, Portal.

The best part about all of this is that you cannot get cc’d while performing those actions other than Illusionary Leap. And Blink doesn’t require a target. And lastly, it has access to 25% movement speed increase without having to take a utility or weapon.

I doubt we’ll get the patch today More like in the next week or so.

Magic Find is like religion – when you find something good you praise it but when you don’t, you cast it aside.

The real problem is not knowing exactly how it modifies the loot (other than adding a flat percent increase… to what, though?) roll because we just don’t know how loot is determined.

no way will it be DH, because everyone at ANET thinks DH is in a good place and even as it is currently, all the scrubs whine that they are getting owned by Trap DH.

They don’t really balance for the low level population though…. I know it’s a higher percentage of the population but in the upper tiers dhs are garbage and we didn’t see any? (Could be wrong) in recent tourneys.

They do balance mainly for the average, most populated player base. They’re the one’s who keep the game going so I don’t know why you would say that… DH is a really good class when going up against Amber rated players so they need to walk a fine line with buffs/nerfs.

You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. Go ahead and look at the nerfs and changes to these classes and you will clearly see that they don’t. Competitive play revolves around the common factor and that is the every day player who doesn’t play in PvP competitive. The pool of competitive players is so small compared to others. You need to think outside of your thought vacuum.

The reason (speculating of course) you won’t see it is because it goes against their vision of pvp.

I don’t see how it would improve the game but I don’t see it hurting it to an extent. As of today, we have many posts about nerfing x,y,z class – can you imagine the garbage posts we’ll get when you introduce a 2v2 or 3v3 game mode?

I’d much rather they improve upon the current 5v5 game mode than introducing 2v2/3v3.

What do you mean sword 3 root is “great flavor”? There’s no need for it whatsoever.

Except Mesmerd have blink and forward phase retreat. And don’t forget that blink doesn’t require a target.

What’s wrong with profession switching in its current state?

Start solo queuing instead of 3 manning if you want to pvp more often.

And at the very least, you should have already known that by season 1 the rewards were crap for getting to legendary.

My response was to a poster or two above merely stating that your spec is highly irrelevant in gaining rank.

With that said, elite specs are, unequivocally, better than the core specs and rightfully so. Everything you’ve stated can be used as a framework topic for every other class. But as I mentioned, these specs exist for a reason and are labeled as such – meta.

You can play whatever spec you want and be viable but being optimal, classes are pigeonholed.

I made it to Legendary primarily with DH. And DH is pure trash.

Meta builds exist for a reason – they’re the optimal build setup coupled with certain classes but not solely reliant on them.

There’s optimal and viable. Most choose optimal because they want to win.

Solo queue does work and has worked. The entry is based on MMR, available players and within a variance of yours.

Forced 5 man groups is just a ridiculous way of going about fixing the core problem with GW2 pvp. You really run a high risk of dwindling the population down even more.

I don’t really care what they do to other classes but for DH/Guardian needs some serious sweet ol’ fashion love.

It still baffles me that they came up with the DH longbow and only included one unblockable ability while the amount of projectile reflects exponentially increased.

Add to the fact that Guardians have a crap ton of projectiles, even on their melee weapons, it adds to many frustrating matches and skirmishes.

I’ve pretty much given up on any type of remediation other than the wishful thinking that our next elite spec doesn’t have to deal with this nonsense.

I hope they add something that deals with the massive projectile hate.

Individuals, only Helseth and ROM are worth watching because:

1) Persona’s – they keep it interesting
2) Quality game play – you always know you’re going to get quality game play… when they get queue pops
3) I’m 100% certain ROM is legit crazy

Yeah at times I lose my mouse in the middle of fighting but before I cast an aoe ability, I just make sure I know where it is. I also use quick cast so at times I’ve completed fubar’d the ability location.

Yep, solo queued my way with 117 games, 78 wins. I Just hit Legendary rank last game about 10 minutes ago.

No one is leaving the game due to solo queue. You’re just spitting out purely anecdotal garbage because you want this game to be a certain way.

I agree 10000% in removing solo queue from ranked PvP. If will make it easier to find a group since you will NEED one to be able to do the content, just like needing a group for fractals/raids means more people are looking for one.

It’s not mathematically possible to create a system that creates proper matches with good matchmaking queueing 10 random people together, so the only real solution is to make it ranked only. A proper matchmaking system can EASILY match a 5 man premade team against another equally skilled premade team based on MMR alone.

This is the only solution to making matchmaking good.

This will overall create a better PvP experience for almost everyone.

When you create these hard barriers of entry you significantly reduce the amount of people playing your game.

Your narrow-minded view on thinking this is the only good solution restricts you from seeing how detrimental this really is. This is a play at your own pace game in all aspects – pvp, pve, except raids. Options are good, very good – forcing players down a path leads to nothing but lost interest and that’s not good for business.

If ANet actually showed player MMR and the average MMR of your group during PvP you would see if you have a good matchup or a bad matchup. Yes there will be +- variances but that’s a good thing. If they offered better rewards for winning against a higher MMR team and you lost less for losing against them, this would be a much better solution.

If you can’t see that PvP is essentially a life force for ANet then stop coming up with this ridiculous ideas and claims. Think beyond your narrow scope of what PvP should be and see how it impacts everyone.

It’s irrelevant what weapon they give as they’ve shown that they’ll create a typical melee weapon and turn it into a ranged one. For instance, Mesmer greatsword.

We won’t see double shield. I doubt we’ll see land spears as well.

I imagine we’ll get an axe or another melee weapon.

I disagree, the skill cap on the class has def being increased. There is some great DH out there, especially the trappers you can’t (as a power warrior) focus them… because they always stealth away. As a power warrior, i rathe duel a rev/ engi/ thief/ ranger/ ele than a DH.

That game I did 1.3m direct damage too! Certainly having an ele around you will work wonders.

GW2 already had separate wallets and a personal gold bank. They got rid of it and used a merged approach which, if I recall, the vast majority of the players wanted. There were a few outliers who wanted things separate but in the end, they learned to be careful in their spending/browsing endeavors.

You’re comparing apples and oranges here. One is an elite spec that grants access to a new set and two different class types.

Leagues need solo queue back, even from duo.
