Wells needed to have their cooldowns shaved after they nerfed them last patch so this was a much needed update. They just need to stop trying to make scepter happen but nonetheless, good changes to it.

Engineer nerfs were definitely needed but I’m not sure slick shoes change was. With the change to stability, I’d expect to see it go untouched. Hammer 3 still leaps three times but only gives two leap finishers which is fine – I don’t think I’ve seen 3 leap finishers hit with it anyways. But good change by making it go in a straight line.

DH changes are baffling to say the least.

Overall I’m happy with the changes but I think they missed the mark on a few classes/abilities but looks to be more of the same now.

The balance in S2 I think was worse than S1 but that’s just my opinion.

The matchmaking was definitely better but could still use improvement. The only caveat to this is that with such a small pvp population, if they were to completely match up players, queue times would be much longer.

Dodge (it has an easy to tell wind up), blind, block… yep, no counter.

If you do get transformed into a moa, use skill 5, followed by skill 2 and you can also dodge.

My very small change request to put DH on more of an even playing ground:

Smite Condition applies resistance when it clears a condition
Focus 5 – provides continue blocking for 3 seconds, not just 3 attacks; cooldown from 36 seconds to 30 seconds
Sword – shave off cooldowns on 2 and 3; 7s/12s respectively
Meditation/shouts cooldowns shaved across the board – seem too high today with the amount of damage/cc/conditions floating around

I did read his post. Did you read mine? The link? Anet has secure servers. That’s all they need to do. If someone is truly causing him lag, then it is a DDoS, which is a fault on his end, not Anets.

IR was already nerfed and I don’t see it requiring any sort of ICD or additional change to it.

Just a vent thread but before the game starts, game crashed three times so I restarted my machine. Came back and we were winning 120-80 or something and I stayed the whole game. We wind up winning 500-494 but I get a pip loss due to deserter.

There needs a better mechanism to not be penalized a pip for when the game crashes on you.

He’s not going to go to the balance team and instruct them to balance better, just like he isn’t going to go to the raid team and tell them that they need to make the sloth arena a bit bigger. Improving class balance doesn’t require more people, it requires smarter people.

I work in software development for a very large firm and the CEO/Partner would literally dictate every direction of software development. Time will certainly tell and so far he’s already telling us what he’ll do but there’s a lot to be desired from the so called balance team.

You hit the nail right on the head – we need smarter people directing the balance in this game. Right now, I feel like they have the wrong people making the wrong decisions.

There’s literally nothing you can do to prevent it, only mitigate the attack. But I guess if someone really wanted to, they’d restrict all inbound requests and only leave open GW2/voice comms traffic when they play.

Mesmer has been the single most broken class for two seasons in a row. It is obvious that Mesmer will get nerfed. No surprise there.

It’s the self-deprecating Mesmer “mains” who for some unknown reason ask for nerfs.

Moa is fine at 10 seconds and with the large wind up and blatant tell and how easily it is avoided, there needs to be risk/reward when using it.

Moa is such an easily avoidable skill that a lot of the complaints is just an l2p issue. Duration is fine at 10 seconds as you can still dodge and use skill 5 to easily disengage. But I feel like they’ll nerf the duration to 7-8 seconds instead.

Illusionary Reversion was already nerfed and fine where it is today.

Chronophantasma is fine as it is as the phantasm is dazed for 1 1/2 seconds that can be easily killed with cleave/aoe.

The reality of all of this is that Mesmers get nerfed with every patch (as it seems) so I’m not holding my breath on anything different.

Dom/Dueling/Chrono is going to be your standard DPS build.

Dueling is going to be interchangeable but only to Inspiration if you need reflects.

Talking to Mattis at Shipwreck Peak Waypoint gave me the glider.

Yeah it is showing. I even tried unequipping and equipping it but no luck.

I haven’t played much HoT but I saw that the black wings is now a glider skin. Upon hovering my mouse over it, it says to visit a scout to unlock it.

I went to Verdant Brink, did a transmute of my backpack to the black wings, talked to a scout (labeled [Scout]) but it didn’t unlock the glider skin.

Is there something I’m doing wrong?

It’s not a problem. What would be a problem would have the shield massively clip the backpack.

iWarlock does more damage when the target has more conditions on it. I’d say it goes extremely well with Staff.
