It’s not any better on mobile.
It’s vastly better on a mobile than these forums.
Have you ever thought that you’re the source of your loses? You taking scepter in a power Mesmer build says a lot.
It really just sounds like you’re playing classes you like but aren’t very good at and the results are as such.
You don’t need to play meta builds to win/carry matches, I run staff GS mesmer and win most my matches in plat 2. However the match quality is so lo that some teams have such bad people they are seemingly predetermined to win. I’ve barely played this season because of the boring matches.
Sure you don’t but having an optimal setup sure does help.
Axe certainly didn’t feel right. I think it was skill 2 with its huge wind up and ridiculously short range.
kitten and Arken are very good players they could beat 99% of the scrubs left playing with just about any guardian build that isn’t complete rubbish. I wouldn’t recommend Hammer or GS builds for your average player. They really weren’t good in the past im not sure what changed to make them particularly good now.
What makes them decent now in PvP was the change in the Radiance line. You can now take Retribution and Righteous Instincts in Radiance and then use Valykrie amulet.
They’re kind of yolo builds but if you have a good supporting team, you can 100-0 unsuspecting players rather quickly.
If you want fancy legendary armor effects then go raid.
The means and effort of acquiring pvp legendary is fine and doesn’t deserve anything else.
Mirage: 5/10. It’s been mentioned so many times but Mirage Mirror and Ambush skills need some serious love.
Firebrand: 3/10: A frontline support with cast times to enter tomes, small frontal cone with utilities, no recharge system on pages, lackluster abilities and… too much to continue on.
New elites will be available in PvP when PoF hits.

This post seems massively trollish and should be deleted in everyone’s opinion.
You’re full of kitten that you went from 13k-0 in 3 seconds just from retaliation damage.
Retal is a counter to fast attacking players so if you’re getting off 6 unloads then expect some counter play.
We have 2 1/2 weeks before we see the elite spec changes. Here’s to those who are holding their breath.
1m damage with 6 kills?
What’s the officer, problem?
Not necessary in an expansion with mounts, tbh.
Probably thinking more PvP/WvW but with access to superspeed, don’t count on it.
I’ll use Overwatch as an example as it’s the only other game I play that has this. But they have active nodes where you can wheel over it to defend that point or push the payload, etc. Having something like that would be great because not everyone reads chat.
What I really want is the Junkrat emote that goes, “BRRRRRNNNNGGGGG” so I can spam it until my fingers fall off.
You get 3 pips for losing (4 for play, 5 for legendary) and 1 additional pip for top stats.
If you’re put on a team that has lackluster players but you do all the right things from rotating, reviving, supporting, and dealing damage, and get 5 top stats, that’ll mean you’ll get 8 pips for a loss.
To say that the effort you put in carrying a team goes unrewarded in a game is ridiculous. The pip reward system is a linear track that is meant to incentivize winning because you get gold and ascended shards quicker.
What should matter most is your rank as you gain for winning and right now it doesn’t feel rewarding when you do win and gain rank. But the pip system is nothing more than an experience bar that fills up for winning or losing which is perfectly fine.
High risk, high reward, super fun to play (credit goes to Arken):
You can run scepter/shield and greatsword effectively in PvP.
You had me sold on using the new weapon even if you don’t have the elite traitline selected.
But the utilities need to be locked behind the elites.
DH is really getting on my nerve sometimes…any hard counter?
Dodge the big F1 windup pull.
Don’t run at them if they’re standing still (traps).
They have two stationary attacks with longbow – easy to dodge.
After they Renewed Focus, focus them because they’ll drop pretty quick.
I don’t expect much to be honest.
You were going up 2v1’s constantly.
Don’t be the victim when you are part of the problem.
Take some responsibility for your actions and gameplay and realize that the world isn’t out against you.
The problem is the OP. I’ve played against him a few times and he was feeding far (our home) all match and kept dying.
You want to know where 99% of the problems come from? Look in the mirror.
GW2 matchmaking isn’t perfect but to make some outrageous claims like you’re being singled out is pure lunacy.
Aetherblade armor. It feel like forever ago since it was last available.
I’m not a fan of conjured weapons.
No ticket.
Please trash the match when someone has been disconnected for 90 seconds at the start. That way there’s no frustration on the outnumbered team and the other team doesn’t get a cheap free win.
Why do people waste their time putting these together?
Look out guys, we’ve got a kitten over here. In response, why do people waste their time posting these responses on threads they don’t agree with?
Back on topic: It appears I may have placed this in the wrong thread. Should this be moved to Community Creations instead? (So we don’t offend any more people who would want to voice their one sentence copy/paste opinion).
A simple question when you can do this for fun by yourself. But hey, you do you to make yourself feel better.
Why do people waste their time putting these together?
I thought it was pretty comical when he (Chris) said, “There seems to have been some impression that these players and all their accounts would forever be prevented from participating in PvP in any fashion forever. That was never stated…”
And Ben originally stated,
“ima kong fu ninja.3052: permanent dishonor meaning just this season? Or For all seasons to come?
Ben: All seasons.”
They can’t even get their story straight and they expect people to play by the rules? I don’t even know what to say at this point.
Take what WP says about anything balanced related and throw it out the window.
He’s a GW2 pve lore content creator and nothing else.
He should’ve relogged then.
I level reward tracks faster in pvp than I do in WvW.
With how they match players, I just go in play, and that’s about it. You’re either going to win or lose by a wide margin so it doesn’t really matter much to me.
Really I’d like to see more transparency with pvp. Let me see my team and my opponents team average MMR.
We’ve spent a quite of bit of time on Firebrand during the demo weekend and Tomes missed the mark on having 3/4 cast times along with 3/4+ cast times on abilities.
And they’re locked behind long cooldowns and non-regenerating pages. So we are then essentially locked out of the basis of Firebrand until the cooldowns are refreshed (including RF).
Firebrand has the potential to be a great elite spec but in its current state, it needs a few adjustments.
I have the Mistforged Heros Torch.
You’re*
No thanks, though. Fractal sword still amazing along with Bolt.
Whether or not you agree with the implementation, I do think it was intended this way and it is how I read it. The Mirage Cloak trait causes your dodge key to lose its normal function, it now grants the Mirage Cloak status effect. Mirage Mirrors also grant the Mirage Cloak status effect. Elusive Mind insinuates activation of the trait based on the dodge key, not based on gaining the Mirage Cloak status nor evading attacks.
What this guy said.
So let’s change staff 1 to be 1200 range 360 radius.
That sounds reasonable to me.
Ummm… what?
I wouldn’t mind seeing the scepter 1 orbs doing a small splash damage around the target it hits.
We won’t lose weapon swap.
Jaunt needs to be 600, retain its 3 charges.
Axe 2 needs to have an evade frame tied to it.
Overall I felt like you spent way more time setting up your combos to do damage unlike base Mesmer/chrono.
OP can’t be for real because people have two days playing a brand new elite compared to people who’ve been playing an elite class for two years.
It’s truly astonishing the thought process of some people.
Wait until the new elites settle down with changes.
It’s almost like there are multiple ways to play the game, and the individual player can choose the one they enjoy the most.
It’s almost as if DH has been around for two years and gone through tweaks and updates and Firebrand is brand new…
Firebrand is in a bad spot but wait to see what changes they make (in two years ).
Go to a dueling server? There are a few of them out there.
It’d be nice to have the new weapons added to baseline.
You don’t notice you’re fighting Firebrands or Renegades because they don’t exist in PvP for a reason.
Sword/Focus
Scepter/Shield
If you’re going FB, you’re going to need the defensive options because any form of focus and you’re just going to melt.
FB works well in a vacuum but practical application it fails quite hard. After this weekend, we’ll see what changes are made to this elite.
I honestly think the majority of these elites were rushed through.
It’s worked like this forever.
