Yeah but you always look weird when you start dancing in the middle of a match. Some people are so edgy that they believe you are not taking the match seriously because you did that…
It can be explained if people in your team don’t know the bug. I’m sure a little misunderstanding would be appreciated more than a team mate stuck in place the whole match.
It’s a fairly common bug, if you use an emote like /sit it fixes it.
Why compromise? Anet’s in the weak negotiating position. They’re obviously under immense pressure and very desperate right now as evidenced by their apparent interest in WvW (and management shakeup). Now is the time to push for the changes you really want.
I think it was meant as a compromise between the 2 different player groups (one that wants the Alpine maps back and the other that wants to keep the Desert one) rather than a compromise with Anet.
See I think they have already introduced to us the idea that a side can begin in a somewhat fortified position at reset so having the lowest ranked server in a more dominate position at start could help balance the start of a week out.
The problem is that some matchups can have all 3 servers fairly equally balanced so having a map advantage could affect that matchup greatly.
Since Anet are trying implement a fix to balance matchups, the likelihood of having 3 “equal” servers will be higher so relying on a map for an advantage over skill and effort could create some friction.
The compromise will eventually be a rotation, though I sincerely hope that EotM is never included in that rotation.
Agreed. Though in fairness, EotM (with a little reworking, minus the transformations and a castle placed at the centre) could make a decent EB rotation candidate but between how sacred EB has become since the desert map was introduced and how tainted EotM has become since it basically became a large PvE karmatrain, it might be a seriously difficult sell.
Condescension has no bearing on the merit of a comment, just on how well it might be perceived. I was actually trying to be nicer to you than some of the others but I guess I failed. Sorry.
Anyway, you said there were barriers blocking the most direct path. There are not—unless there’s some condition you didn’t stipulate.
You also said that on Alpine there were no hard blocks or cliffs between NWT and SET. There were.
If no condescension was intended then I apologize for reading it as such.
There was a slight condition I didn’t stipulate and that was my mistake, I was so focused on recalling the Alpine maps layout that I forgot that there was a back door to the southern towers and was including the barricades adjacent to them as the blockages which increases the travel time considerably if you can’t dps them down.
As for the Alpine blocks, assuming you own Garrison (as I assumed you owned Rampart in the DBL), then there are no blocks or cliffs between the two towers.
The Borderlands currently only really work if all 3 servers have the same map, otherwise one or more servers could be at a distinct tactical disadvantage.
If the Borderlands were made to be a proper 3-way map similar to EB and EotM then it could work, but not the way it is now.
psizoneTry running from the NW Tower to the SE Tower (assuming you only own Rampart), there are numerous paths and barriers blocking the most direct path so it takes ages.
On the old map you could walk what was essentially a straight line, no hard blocks or cliffs barring the path.
It’s not that the Desert map is ‘hard’ to traverse, it’s just irritating – especially if you accidentally take a wrong turn. Hell, some of it can be pretty maze-like.
1.) Head south into the canyon and follow the straight, flat road to the Oasis. Cross diagonally to the southeast and take the unobstructed path that leads directly to the backdoor of SE tower. For this path, you encounter 0 barricades no matter what you own. If you own Rampart, you also won’t encounter any earth walls.
2.) If on home BL, take WP to Rampart and exit to the south into the Oasis. Cross to the southeast corner and take the path that leads directly to the backdoor of SE tower.
Maybe I’m missing something? That was really, really easy. It’s actually not that different from Alpine considering the huge cliffs near NWT there and the embankment to the north of SE tower. Going through the Oasis is about the same as going through the ruins.
I didn’t ask for directions, nor did I state that it was hard to get there. It just takes longer and has more chances for errors. Maybe be a little less condescending next time and your comments might hold more merit.
I don’t understand why people keep saying the Desert BL is hard to run around. I played it a few times and don’t the shrines give you a speed buff that’s better than Swiftness? Also, I think people misperceive the map as being bigger than it is. I remember running from the west side to the south in only a few minutes.

The only thing I can think of is that a Guardian is giving me that trait that allows allies to apply burning. But as I’d said in the OP, it has also happened with no one around and as far as I could tell, nothing to influence such a condition.
It happened a few times in EOTM last night too but in that case, I had plenty of people nearby so it’s absolutely possible someone was giving me that benefit like a Sun Spirit for example. Still, being somewhat apart from the group and attacking a sentry, every few hits I would apply burning for seemingly no reason.
Still scratching my head over this, lol.
If allies were around it could be the Guardian trait you mentioned or the Sun Spirit, someone giving a Fire Aura or placing a Fire Field and you shooting your Longbow through it to proc the projectile finisher.
However if you’re completely alone, it really shouldn’t be happening with your build as is. Strange. I’m at a loss, too.
Can you post your build, weapons and pets just in case there’s something there you’re missing?
Fire aura is a lot less noticeable now, could you be applying that by accident and just missing it?
Removing eotm won’t improve wvw unfortunately or force players back into wvw.
WvW needs to stand on its own merits. You don’t kill a popular pvp game mode in hopes to get a handful back into wvw on your server.
WvW doesn’t appeal to everyone, just like eotm doesn’t appeal to everyone, so we don’t need to create more negative feelings toward the pvp side of the game by removing one for another.
Instead of thinking this way, we should look at the reasons why eotm has done so well and apply some of those elements to wvw.
People love EotM because it’s a karmatrain, you earn lots of loot, karma, experience. Occasionally a guild will run there just to run over a zerg of uplevels for a laugh. It’s essentially Queensdale train 2.0.
If we leave EotM as is and Anet apply their population balance fix before the reward system then people will flock from EotM to normal WvW and cause another imbalance, possibly destroying the fix they had just applied. People will go wherever the rewards are handed out.
Granted, they could implement the new rewards before the population fix and give enough time for players to swap over themselves but in the end, EotM will end up a ghost town. And if they allow you to earn the rewards in EotM then more players will flock there since you’ll be able to earn them faster there which could make WvW lose even more players.
Remove EotM.
There are more players playing EoTM (especially on the green side) 24/7 than there are on a few servers entirely.
We need those players integrated back into the normal maps before whatever you have planned for a population balance fix.
I’d make the following changes:
-PPT is only active in EB, make it tick over every hour instead of every 15 minutes and make it so upgraded Towers and Keeps are worth more to encourage holding things.
-Buff PPK a bit to make fighting servers more viable for scoring.
-Make it so that losing your Towers and Keeps in your Borderlands removes points from your server (more points per tier) to encourage defending your home Border and attacking enemy ones to lower their score. Recapping adds points back but only the equivalent of a paper Tower or Keep so losing a T2 or T3 position hurts a lot more (say you lose 10 points for a T1 Tower and 30 points for a T3 Tower, recapping would add 10 points regardless of what Tier it was when you lost it).
With fewer points from PPT with the removal of Borderlands PPT means losing a zerg fight or a Tower or Keep on your home border actually has consequences.
This also means servers that are great at defense would be able to keep their scores from dropping and servers with fighting guilds can gain points through killing enemy zergs and pug zergs can contribute by lowering the enemy score by capping their Borderlands or any mix of the three.
You’d sometimes need to make a choice of defending your Borderland and prevent points from dropping at the risk of losing your EB area and your PPT dropping.
I’d be fine with them being soulbound if it was at all viable to unlock an Elite spec with them.
I farmed EotM on a new character with a birthday booster on to see how long it would take to fully unlock the Elite spec that way and it took around 10 hours (took off a few hours of running a poor map).
Now, a typical run on the HoT maps (only doing 100% Verdant Brink, 80% Auric Basin and then whatever that third map was until completing (around 40-50% if I remember correctly) would take me just over an hour to fully unlock an Elite spec from scratch.
It takes around 10x longer doing it in WvW (EotM, too, so it would take longer in normal WvW), it’s not viable.
Who does it affect if someone unlocks their Elite spec using another character to farm the Heroics? Nobody. They could be unlocking it as they have fun and play instead of grinding on a character they don’t enjoy without the Elite spec.
It was a huge step backwards for alt-friendliness when they made them soulbound.
Partial.
I would love to see Desert BL made into Desert BG. But I don’t want to get even more maps active than we already got. Who are going to fill them ?
Remove EoTM. Seriously, there are more people that play on that map than there are active on some servers.
One of the reasons for EoTM was to give people a place to play when waiting for queues to pop, now it’s a huge karmatrain for anyone that rolls green that week.
People that want to continue to play WvW will slide back into the normal maps, populations will grow a bit, added onto whatever Anet is planning for their population balance fix (my money is on merging some servers) and we might have a chance of getting enough players per server to play on all 5 maps.
Go hate elsewhere , that’s your opinion and I don’t happen to agree with it
If you can’t handle reading differing opinions then maybe you shouldn’t be posting in an online forum. You don’t have to agree with other people but they’re allowed to express their views.
They don’t need to scrap the borderlands, but they do need to modify it. Being pretty doesn’t mean it works perfectly as a borderland map, but a few tweaks here and there would make it ideal to be put into a rotation with the Alpine maps.
-I’d like them to shrink it down in size a bit
-Don’t reinstate the Oasis event
-Flatten some of it out, it’s too vertical right now (they built it as if they had gliders in mind and it makes no sense currently)
-Tone down the npc gimmicks. Too much CCs and teleports (It’s not difficult, it’s just annoying)
-Revert the waypoints back to how they used to be (everyone can use them if they own the keep), it takes so much longer to traverse the map without the side waypoints.
-Don’t waste time on silly things (If you’re low on time for shipping WvW overhauls then don’t spend your time making a hidden Quaggan cave behind a waterfall)
As we said in the AMA, our top internal priorities have been population balance and rewards. From this thread, your top five priorities are, in order:
1. Stability & skill balance
2. Fix or revert DBL
3. Rewards
4. Population balance
5. Scoring
I’d like a fix to the Desert maps or to play on the old maps as much as the next guy but I’m really disappointed they’re prioritising that over population balance and rewards.
The map changes might appeal to a portion of the current WvW playerbase (not all, but a sizeable chunk) but is it seriously worth prioritising surface happiness for that group rather than enticing the return of players (and influx of new players) with better matchmaking via population balance and actual rewards for playing the game mode?
Once the initial happiness of the changes wears off, we’ll all be left with the same problems we’ve been facing for years, stale matchups and watching PvE and PvP players getting nice shinies for their time. I can guarantee that the same players that are actively campaigning for the old maps back are dedicated enough to be there to complain (complaining isn’t always a bad thing so don’t take offense to that) about the other problems we’re facing.
Usually I lose when the enemy has a better composition that my team or they’re just plain better collectively.
Rarely, though it happens enough to make note of, is it someones fault specifically. When that happens it’s usually someone is just bad at the game mode(including not rotating when needed or not retreating when low on health), or they leave/go AFK, or they start arguing and cussing out team members and killing morale.
Leagues are not a reward track. Not everyone is entitled to progress past ruby.
Except they kind of are. Like someone said above, you progress by earning pips, not beating good teams.
With luck or time you can progress through it all and get just as far as someone playing with a skilled team.
Am at last tier in ruby. Sapphire was a lot harder for me. Got matched up with braindead people 99% of the time.
I’m also on last tier ruby and hate blaming team mates for losses but sometimes, dear god.
Just had a match and we were losing and noticed the Warrior in our team kept going down so I asked him to swap and hold close (somehow I ended up holding close despite being the S&R Druid, noone else defended it the whole time) and I got ignored. Then I noticed the Mesmer kept dying and the rest of the team raging at him so I asked him to swap with me so we can change it up and bring the match back and his response was “That’s not my job” and when we lost he said “l2Rotate noobs”.
Bit of a rant, but I’m annoyed by the stubborn nature of some players sometimes. It’s a team game, adapt and play around your team. Don’t tell people that defending isn’t your job or that it’s pointless to keep playing, comebacks are always a possibility.
That said, running into people like that is fairly rare for me and I’m pretty kitten happy with how the majority of people I get paired with act.
Tl;dr Some players need to drop their ego and play for the team and/or stop giving up mid match.
Stop playing power Necro problem solved
I kid, looks like you’re just unlucky, you’ll get decent matches eventually I guess.
That said, Thieves do get used a fair bit this season and I’ve seen more than a few that have pulled their weight and more in a match.
If I were really bored I’d search for one of my posts which I made directly after the last patch “The bunker meta isn’t over, btw” and tell you: I told you so.
.
It’s funny, I remember almost a month ago someone posted on reddit saying something like “Since the bunker meta is over, what do you think people will play this upcoming season?” and I got downvoted to hell for suggesting that people will latch onto the tankiest builds they can find or a few instakill classes and that some classes can have great sustain whilst running dps Amulets.
Oh, that’s good news! It gives everybody a chance to kitten how better/worse the game is now whilst giving Arenanet the option of re-implementing it should the players prefer the game that way. I think it would be prudent to look at metrics rather than forumwarrior feedback, though.
They’ll need to view the forums/reddit for feedback on gameplay without the event though. Without a replacement event to compare it to, they won’t be able to compare in game metrics.
1. Remove Clerics Amulet, too many bunkers using it. Fights last forever if you run into 1 or 2 people using it.
2. Remove boon duration runes and Amulets. Only a few classes can boonstack to a large degree and creates an unfair balance.
3. Remove condition duration Runes and Amulets. Conditions are still pretty rampant, lowering the durations will help a lot.
4. Add new Runes that are similar to Trooper runes but for different skills (-1 condition per second on allies in Wells. -1 condition per 10 Energy or 5 Initiative used. And so on) to counter conditions easier.
5. More class balance updates but this isn’t quite specific to PvP.
My replies to each in bold.
Change WvW loot systems to not give incentives to blobs and instead reward people based on how outnumbered they are while getting kills or how few people are in the area from their server. Right now roaming and small group combat gets you less loot for more work and blobs get more loot even though it is still like 1/6th what you make in pve. Might be difficult to implement but it might be an alright idea
Give all WvW SKILL group players a precursor (expensive one like spark or dusk or let them choose, not for PPT guilds cause they are pve players not WvW players, give them a smaller gift if you want) as a gift for having played a dead game mode without rewards for a long period of time on faith that you will save it. Nope, I’d rather they left precursors as random loot or purchase from the TP. You’re alienating a portion of the playerbase because you don’t like that style of play, that won’t get people to agree with your opinions. WvW is in essense a PPT game mode.
Then remove large amounts of siege or cap it heavily. If not removing siege make it deal minimal damage for minima l effort vs groups of player’s because right now cannons are roaming meta and it is stupid. WvW is a siege based game mode, we don’t want PvDoor
Make all gear standardised build editor selection with any option of food and gear using your equipped armor skins but full ascended stats so this game mode is not a PvE extension. People will still want money to get skins. No thanks, I like WvW because it rewards players for earning their gear and mix/maxing their stats. Though I’d like them to add WvW specific food equivalents to save on costs, have them purchasable with Badges of Honor or Proofs of Heroics
Make the rewards into WvW specific titles, miniatures, and skins. These would be good, also a WvW Legendary backpiece like we have in PvE and PvP
Make supported roaming guild tourneys, video contests etc… with gem rewards to encourage real skilled group gameplay for reasons other then fun. Another good idea, it will create a nice community atmosphere
Remove pve b.s. from WvW through the guild system and make any remaining WvW guild hall features take WvW rewards not silence farming nonsense. Agreed, I hate that I lost all of my guild upgrades with this new system and it costs thousands of gold to get back to where I was
Issue a public apology for having incompetent WvW testers and asking PvE guilds for advice. A nice gesture but I don’t think it will happen.
Change WvW scoring system to be equal parts kills and ppt because objective based fights should still exist as they offer Interesting strategies when you remove siege hugging and make kills matter so people don’t just ppt train and siege up towers. Could be problematic as some servers may farm each other in order to prevent the third server from winningAnd make transfers free once every 2 months for minimal spying, lots will happen because of F2P and other stuff already, and still allowing guilds to move to a server that fits their goals. Agreed, it costs too much for a transfer and until the servers populations are balanced I don’t see why people should pay for a shoddy service
Until all of these occurs WvW as a system can never reach its full potential.
Then fix balance among classes and elite specs which is a more general change and is not specific to the WvW system. Yup, more balance is needed
Just to be clear anet is stupid to not realise that population imbalance is far beyond their ability to fix and they will never achieve that balance until there is a WvW community beyond EBG which means fixing these system wide issues and the problems with specific maps (or just adding better graphics to the map that already worked and never adding PvE b.s. to it). I still think they can fix it relatively easily but the easy options might anger some players
Decent team of moderators ? Also aren’t you discussing their actions which I have been infracted for multiple times? They could do that you know. It says so in that document they link all the time.
From what I’ve seen they tend to cull messages that are against the forum rules pretty quickly and reinstate posts that they delete mistakenly. On that front they’re pretty efficient.
Yes, people get infracted. I’m not sure what you were infracted for but I know for sure I’ve been infracted many times before.
I’m fairly certain if they hopped in to the middle of the storm of “why are you killing WvW” posts it would degenerate into Dev vs Forum in a hurry.
They are reading the suggestions and ignoring histrionic outbursts.
Of course it would, but what I’m saying is that after a week or so those kinds of posts will die down. They have pretty decent moderators at work here to counter the influx of petty posts.
Right now the main concern of WvW players is that this overhaul might ruin WvW somehow, the devs addressing those concerns and interacting openly could alleviate that considerably.
A week of potentially crap posts and hurt feelings is worth it if we can get some decent direct involvement in the progression of this overhaul.
A decently involved CDI thread for each of the pieces of the overhaul that they’re closest to being able to release will contain in in specific places and avoid duplicate posts.
Why are there no devs posting it on this subforum?
Given the tone of the posts in this subformum would you want to respond to any of it. I think that people have a right to air their grievances, but don’t expect a dev to show up so you can tell them personally how crappy a job they are doing.
I’m confident they are reading it but there is no value in commenting on anything at this point.
They shouldn’t shy away from posting because of a few bad seeds. One of the main reasons for the majority of the negative posts is the lack of communication.
They’ll need a strong backbone to get through the first week or so of openly communicating but once the angrier posters are satiated (and mods delete the actual insult posts) then progress can be made.
“There’s no point in posting because people will say negative things” is a terrible attitude to have and will get us all nowhere.
Read the follow up post. Here’s the best part of it:
Rather than making many players suffer longer under the performance issues while we continue to look for a fix that works, the decision was made as a team to disable the event. And as the guild mission was tied to this event and had been experiencing issues, we took it out of the rotations till both our teams (WvW and Guilds) can see to it being fixed. I cannot offer an eta for a fix at this time.
So they disabled it and are working on fixing the lag and bugged guild mission. Right now, they’re planning on bringing it back once they’ve fixed those problems…

Please, please, please if that means they’re working on fixing and re-releasing the Oasis event, ask them to reconsider that. Rather than working on and potentially wasting time on this feature that the majority of the players seem to loathe, ask them to instead focus on other aspects of the game mode.
The lag issue was only half the problem with the event, it offered nothing fun or good to the game mode.
They are at least going to make changes to the desert BL.
And reducing line of sight blockers. Both of which will make me quite happy.
Opening a line of communication was a step in the right direction, though doing so on the official forums would have been more appropriate.
If they had given more solid information I’d have been happier, they mostly just reiterated what they’ve said in the past, though the information of the open live beta starting some time after the April update is good to know. But again, it’s a lot of “soon” and “when we can”. A general idea of when the blog post will go up would have been enough to satiate many people.
I agree that troll posts were a terrible idea, spamming them with useful, polite questions might have given more answers but to be fair, it has been a long time since any communications were open so people will vent their anger and impatience regardless. I’m not saying it’s right, but completely understandable.
Here’s another few: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/48zlyd/im_mike_obrien_here_with_gw2_dev_team_ama/d0nxqbt
Another post about this: They’ve said they’ll be more open when answering questions about the overhaul once they release the blog post about it.
Umm…. how are they “locked”? Can’t anyone buy them off the TP? Aren’t they available from the Siege Master for Badges or silver?
If I’m not mistaken, it’s a trait line that’s hidden.[/quote]
Yup, this. At least it was last time I looked.
Thats ridiculous. Slapping siege on top of siege to prevent siege from destroying siege is not good, especially not if your answer is “get HoT or kitten off” when it comes to siegeing in addition to killing roaming and encouraging yet another power creep. Catas against the wall may not give an impressive siege, but being able to build them anywhere in range is a vital part to handle the current siege design.
Why? It makes sense to defend your siege.
Shield Generators shouldn’t be locked behind buying HoT, that was a stupid decision by Anet and one I hope they change.
didn’t we hav this kind of thread before
Almost every day has a new one, but until Anet releases information about this overhaul, we don’t have much more to talk about.
1. Don’t allow catapults built next to wall.
Then how the kitten are you supposed to siege with catas? Place them further away and a single ballista bolt kill them, arrowcarts will still reach and shield generators completely block the user from firing.
If catas had the range of trebs I’d agree with you. But they dont.
A well placed Shield Generator or two.
Once the core issues of WvW are fixed I’d kinda like siege to have a purpose and consequences like this with more emphasis on good placement and coverage of shields to increase effectiveness.
How is this okay? Or is there something im missing? Because from the little I know about this it seems liek their sustain is infinite and their skill floor is about as low as it can get. Like TURRET engi low.
I also disagree with this, the priority of a Druid running this build should always be reviving allies, you need to constantly make sure you’re in the right position to revive allies that are struggling. Constantly bouncing between points.
Whilst doing this you also need to do what other people are doing, killing enemies, decapping or holding points as is necessary.
A standard bunker Druid may have a low skill level but it’s far from a low skill floor as they have the potential to make or break a team depending on skill and awareness.
Kill the pet.
The reason Druids have that much damage and sustain is because of the pet and the fact that so few players pay attention to them.
Killing the pet makes them inactive for the better part of a minute, they swap and you kill the second one and that’s it, they’ll have to fall back or rely on mediocre damage.
Once the pets are out of the way, focus the Druid in close combat and you can burst them down pretty quickly, if they’re evading your attacks when they’re in that state then it’s down to their skill and luck, not so much the class.
Engineers have enough CC and sustain to force Druids to play defensively whether they use power or conditions.
Necromancers can run conditions to shut them down.
Warriors can stunlock them and render them useless.
Thieves can burst them down quickly or run conditions and shut them down.
Elementalists can burst them down with heavy AoE pressure. Or if you’re running a burn build, you win.
Guardians traps can be a pain for them because of the CC but if they stay at range with a longbow then they’ll lose, get in close to get the upper hand. Or run a burn build, you win.
Mesmers can CC them then apply heavy burst damage to take them down, but running conditions is more effective.
Revenants power attacks hit like a truck and can burst them down if they stay in melee range, or run conditions to shut them down.
Rangers…prepare for a long fight.
tl;dr : Take down the pets, stay in melee range.
Do reapers really need both great boon corruption and great condi transfer in one build?
Wouldnt it be more balanced if it was great boon corruption with little to none condi transfer or great condi transfer with little to none boon corruption?
Probably, but the game needs a lot more to even consider it balanced. If you just nerfed Necro boon corruption without applying an overall fix then you’ll just have the game overrun by boon-stacking builds instead.
All classes need ready access to condition cleanses and boon removals (or corruption).
Self-entitled? How exactly? o.O
Well…these parts don’t sound great.
Matching me with weaker than me players makes me indifferent to my team and this in term affects my gameplay.
Another phrase I could use in this case i guess would be that even though I’m mechanically correct with the toons I play, I’m more likely to make a bullkitten call for a team that I don’t care about one bit.
- Ranger: Animal companions scales with the base stats of the ranger.
- Ranger: Search and Rescue: Teleport range down to 600
- Ranger: Ancestral Grace: distance traveled down to 900
No to all of these.
1. If they scale off the Rangers stats then condition Rangers can’t use power pets and vice-versa.
2. That would kill it and make it ‘Search and oh here I’ll place you on the other side but still within that AoE skill that downed you and try to res you…’
3. No, we’re supposed to be a mobile class.
then u still have look out for other damaging attacks
That’s the whole point of sPvP or WvW, being competent enough to look out for attacks and choose which ones to dodge.
Fact is, this attack is easily avoidable and well telegraphed if you’re looking at your enemies.
5k is unacceptable.
2-3k is acceptable.
End of Story.
2k? In WvW I can go on a full Nomad Guardian and fart out higher damage than that.
F2 ability does 5,000+ damage.
Other classes have been addressed stating they had “slightly too much burst”
This is one of those cases and needs to be addressed.
It already got nerfed because of complaints. The kitten attack is avoidable, requires all of the projectiles to hit to do decent damage, and requires direct line of sight. Let’s not even mention how easy it is to kill pets or the fact that the pet is rooted in place when it’s using that skill.
Can you tell us your desired class so that if this gets nerfed again we can complain about a random skill you have that deals insane damage? Because kitten near every class has a skill that deals heavy damage, some that are tied with the class mechanic skills like the Rangers pet. You don’t see Mesmers Shatters constantly getting complaints and they can hit considerably harder on a lower cooldown.

I really hope this is a joke post, it’s hard to tell online.
On the off chance it’s serious, no. It’s definitely a pay2win aspect, it would remove any risk involved in losing and remove any challenge involved in going through the leagues.
This is what I’m running right now on my Longbow Ranger. I use him to roam, do smallscale stuff and occasionally pew pew things with pug zerg.
I used to have him tankier but found the extra toughness pretty useless against enemies now that everything hits harder (thanks HoT) but LB4 and Ancient Seeds helps keep targets rooted enough to hit them with LB2 and you can generally kill enemies before they kill you, if not then Signet of Stone will buy you time to get more damage into them or run away if you can’t win.
