so that damage calculation for “Deathly Chill” is wrong . it needs to be toned down & I think it should scale up with power instead of condi make power chill build viable.

Nope, should stay as a condition since it’s a condition…

That said, I think the damage should be identical to burn and have it stack intensity instead of duration (only when using that trait). Basically create a slightly better burn exclusively for those that use the trait.

You have to cross divisions for a total of 1+2+3+4=10 times across 4 seasons. So 3+3 (2 rubies) + 2+2 (2 sapphires) is the minimum requirement.

People keep saying that but in my achievements list the next tier of “cross x divisions” is unlocked when you complete the previous one and includes divisions you’ve already crossed as long as it’s all within one season.

Quick, cry in the Warrior forums, Gunblaze hits too hard! A class mechanics can’t be one shotting zerker Thieves!

Same for Mesmer Shatters, if all clones hit then everything dies! What were they thinking about?! They can use it at range and still go dodge and run whilst they fight!

Bleh, nerfs like these annoy me. Pets are our kitten class mechanic, why the hell aren’t they allowed to hit for a large amount on a cooldown? Nevermind the fact that Bristlebacks F2 was completely avoidable.

Yes it does, but you need to cross 10 divisions total, getting ruby one season and diamond the next only totals 7 divisions crossed

I’m not seeing the achievement locked behind crossing 10 divisions.

Season 1, cross 3 divisions – completes the achievements for parts 1,2 and 3.
Season 2, cross 4 divisions – completes the achievement for part 4.

Then we are just at bad game design then. There is no reason to take anything but defensive lines given how much damage our pets can do with their independent stats. Not to mention how much survivability/damage everything else has.

If you go full defensive traits then you lose a good chunk of your own damage. Yes our pets can put out a lot of damage but on the other side of that, if they die (and they die quite easily) then they’re out of the fight for nearly a minute and then you’re completely kitten for damage.

No the first tier needs one, second needs two ect.
So getting to ruby will leave you with the first 2 tiers done, so if you get diamond the second season you still have 3 more divisions to cross

But the achievements look like the third one unlocks when the second is completed (achievement, not meta) so you can cross 3 divisions and complete 3?

Edit: To clarify, I mean the prerequisite for unlocking the achievement for crossing divisions is unlocked by completing the previous tiers equivalent, not the meta, and it seems to accumulate across the different versions.

Do the math, its not the tickets, its crossing 10 divisions total.
If you got to legendary last season you have crossed 5 divisions, you need to cross 5 more which means getting legendary Twice in a row is the only possible way to finish it in 2 seasons

But I crossed one division and it completed the achievement in part 1 and unlocked half of part 2s achievement (I haven’t completed part 1 yet) so I’m assuming it’s cumulative and unlocks for all parts as long as it’s in one season?

If that’s the case you can cross 3 divisions in one season to complete 3 parts then the second season would only require you to cross 4 divisions.

If I’m right in that then you’d only need Ruby in one season and Diamond in the second season and not have to touch Legendary at all.

Yes, move condi clear to either marksmanship or skirmishing to promote build diversity is what I am saying. Even if we moved Empathic Bond to Nature Magic, despite having people having to choose between Protective Ward, they would still be picking Nature Magic. Yes, Nature Magic isn’t required! But its the best choice right now, adding Empathic Bond to it still makes it the best choice.

No, don’t move condi clear to those two lines. Maskmanship is the dps line and Skirmishing is the condition line. Adding condition cleanses to those lines would kill build diversity since you wouldn’t have to choose between damage traitlines and defensive trait lines.

Wait, which part of getting it includes getting to that division twice?

I had a look at the other meta achievements and it looked like you can do 2 achievement bundles per season (15 days per bundle) as long as you play enough to fulfil the other requirements for the metas.

I didn’t play during the last league because I had no interest at the time but I’ve decided to give these achievements a bash this time around.

Casually looking at the achievements before starting I read ‘Complete 11 achievements’ and thought, “That doesn’t look too bad, it seems to reward being able to win whilst playing multiple classes. Should be easy enough with a bit of effort.”

After a mix of terrible and great matches I completed my chosen list of achievements, only to notice that some hadn’t counted. It was then that I had further investigated and noticed a list of achievements that needed to be done, that doesn’t include all of the ones on the page.

First off, why bother adding all of the other achievements on that page if they don’t contribute to the meta achievement?

Secondly, is the timegated achievement of 15 days worth of matches really needed? It seems to tedious considering it’s the first of a 4 part challenge.

BM is good as it is. IB is perfect for Nature Magic Since It is a support trait. If you move IB to BM, everyone will be forced to go BM too. That’s why it’s a good idea to spread the traits.

It’s a pet trait though, you’re saying to spread out traits but your way would force people to run Natures Magic.

And with my other proposed swaps, you could go with a shout build to support allies without having to run BM.

I’d say the fused trait should be placed in the Beastmaster line, it’s a pet trait. It should swap places with Honed Axes as it feels more like a Wilderness Survival trait.

Whilst that’s freeing up a trait in Nature Magic, change Natures Vengeance to “Spirits take no damage and periodically give boons to allies” and add Spirits Unbound back in “Spirits have increased health and follow you”

Man so many traits are messed up and in lines that make no sense.

Swap Two-Handed Training with Expertise Training
Vigorous Training with Resounding Timbre
Merge Companions Might and Sharpened Edges since they’re very similar traits

They have waypoints at spawn, too, so if you’re saying you led him away them ported back then he probably did the same.

what is point of gliding in wvw? really? give me a good point besides its fun to glide and why we need to glide in wvw. How much that will change the game mode?

One point would be since newer players that haven’t tried WvW would be used to gliding since it’s all over the place now they could be turned off of playing WvW because of that lack of freedom.

It could provide new tactics for players to use. Other than escaping enemies (to which I think shooting them out of the sky would be fun), if you’re having a standoff fight with an enemy zerg and they’ve built siege to bolster their attack, you could send someone to glide down from a higher point and, provided they aren’t shot out of the skies, disable their siege from behind.

With the new maps, it could provide a shortcut through the maze-like lower end of the map.

Provided Anet makes it so that gliding couldn’t be abused to get into towers and keeps somehow, I don’t see any reason not to have it included other than some people not liking change.

Because calling someone a kid and insulting their intelligence is a great way to start off an argument. How very “adult” of you. I’m not even going to link your comment since it’ll probably get deleted.

Just a heads up, BB have players active throughout the day and last time we were matched with them their prime time started not too long after ours in Piken. But I could have said the same thing about any of the top tier servers, their populations vastly outnumber the lower tiered servers.

If Anet don’t do anything to promote players to transfer to servers like RoS then it’ll continue to wallow.

Yes, players just want bags and karma and unless Anet do something to balance it all out then WvW will continue to lose players and continue to have stale matchups.

Last we fought Ruins of Surmia they did not have zerg for an hour. Their max was 5-6 players for an hour. And max 1 player for all the other times.

I get it, I was on FoW back when it was at its lowest point and saw how scarce the player base down in that tier can be.

It’s even worse when you take into account that the Green side of EoTM has enough players there all day to fill 2-3 silver tiered servers at least.

Population imbalance…. – _-. As long as there is a decent commander leading, providing fun karma and bags there will always be players to follow it.

And no i do not QQ cause i cannot take any objective i want, i QQ because there are less and less enemyes every day, cause www is just not entertaining at the moment…. Tactics supperior upgrades , just make it worse

I don’t think you understand what the population imbalance is…

For example, Baruch Bay is top in the EU and can probably maintain a zerg or two throughout the day and maxing out at 2 or so queued maps during prime times.

On the other hand, Ruins of Surmia is currently the lowest populated server and could probably manage to maintain a zerg for an hour or two a day and still never manage to make a queue.

Population imbalance isn’t just “Oh we’re against that server and they outnumber us!” it’s “Oh we have enough numbers to defend all 4 maps and if we somehow fought that server down there, they’d have enough to maybe defend a Sentry”

There are 27 servers on the EU side and without a population balance, many of those servers are forced to fight the same 2 servers for months instead of having 26 different servers to swap around and fight weekly.

Without dedicated in game GMs it can take them ages to get around to banning them.

Most of them have multiple accounts and even with video proof it can sometimes take Anet months to ban them. (back in my old server we had all 3 servers in the matchups report a group of hackers for months before they got banned, video proof and all)

Fixing the current pets before adding new ones. They need a bump because Ranger as a whole relies on pets for situational battles. Many of them are bad or need a tune up to the current pets.

Agreed, if the original pets were at the level of the HoT ones then we’d be in a much better place.

They did not add gliding yet because of “play for free” players. It’s going to happen sooner or later because you can’t treat your paying players like this.

Personally I don’t care if someone is at a disadvantage, they can play the ground troops while the rest of us who support the game glide around the maps.

Lets not forget that Elite specs aren’t given to free players either and they give a straight-up upgrade to most builds, giving expansion owners an advantage.

So if it’s true that they’re not implementing it for that reason, then they’re really selective about how they view player base equality.

even if they did move they won;t make it through the first line of Red circles so it won’t make a difference unless they jacked up the toughness of spirits or Removed the HP bars but then we would have to nurf the Abilities to the level of Banners or worse.

Worked fine before, so much so that calls for nerfs were rampant.

Not every build or mechanic works great in zergs, but as a roaming or small scale build, Spirits were great when they moved.

If you make Nature’s Vengeance baseline and change it to a trait that allows movement then it could be optional and be a win-win for both situations.

I use them now in fractals all the time. frost and sun have a short enough CD that I can drop them at each fight, and I drop SoN when we get to the boss fights, or if people are seriously struggling (pugs mostly).

Just make them mobile again, the games balance is completely different now and almost every class has had several builds come out that are stronger than that build ever was, all that would happen if it was added back in would be to give people another viable build to use.

i’ve seen some screenshots of invisible walls in pve land that have mining nodes on other sides of them that players can’t get to.. so no thanks.. rather not have more things that may end up breaking wvw.

I don’t think they’d work regardless since they’d probably block people from jumping off the side of the walls, unless they can create a one way wall.

I still like the idea of adding automated anti-air guns with the T1 upgrades to shoot down any aerial attackers. (T1 because I think there should be more emphasis on having real players defending towers and keeps, especially at the lower tiers)

Rubbish, most true wvwers could possibly manage a week of it. But full time… No way…

Another trash idea likely to get a developer excited and stick us with even more ridiculous glitchy mechanics. At this rate Oasis event will turn into kittening quidditch…..

Look at it this way, either think of ideas that keep the game mode interesting and fun that Anet could work on and implement for the long term betterment of the game mode else risk it getting stale as it has been for years.

I’d rather they worked on adding gliding than risk Anet adding more pointless mechanics like the Oasis event in a lame attempt at getting PvE players to play the game mode.

Good luck getting new players involved in the game mode to keep our overall population healthy:
“Oh, we added gliding to the game, come play it! Oh, but you can’t glide in that one game mode with open areas, huge drops and large-scale combat because some people didn’t like to pan their mouse up.”

We want less mechanics to foul up when we play, not more. I do also feel it’s coming whether we want it or not. Then we can have orbs back as you no longer need to hack to fly…

Essentially we still want the WvW from 2 years ago with LESS pve, LESS gimmicks, LESS ridiculous mechanics. We want a basic war simulator so we can play war.

Wars have used aerial combat for a hundred years IRL, it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine gliders being used in our fantasy war simulator.

Gliders aren’t as much of a gimmick as they are a different way to traverse or create new ways to fight. Shooting a zerg out of the air with a wall placed ballista 2 sounds like a lot of fun.

What we don’t need are teleporting npcs, lasers that destroy all gates on the map and (from the old maps) Siegerazer style npcs. Those are all gimmicks, gliding could at least create a new way to fight, and I like fighting.

What? I thought ancient seeds make you immobilize a foe, when you aa them when they are cced (they are dazed, you attack them with anything and they get immobilized). It doesn’t work that way?

It does (thought it doesn’t need to specifically be an auto attack), he just didn’t notice your 2 CC skills that allow you to utilise it.

Were bad idea, keep PVe things to PVE maps, we need less pve focus and more PVP focus.

I wouldn’t class gliding as PvE.

It would be fine in WvW as long as it was easy to shoot them out of the skies.

High risk, high reward game play is fun. You can try to glide to evade enemies but you risk being shot out of the sky and taking fall damage.

Gliding could be a fun mechanic for WvW but only if it was done right, if they do it badly it could be a disaster.

People losing their kitten over smokescales will never stop being hilarious, considering their stats are basically identical to the much-maligned bear family. They just have non-terrible skills that allow them to hit things.

Pretty much, if every other pet hit as consistently as Smokescale then they’d be used just as much if not more considering how useful some of the other pets F2 are.

Never going to happen. Forget about it.

They’re already redesigning the Alpine maps so I’d hope they’re taking the possibility that they might include gliding in the future into account when updating that map. I’d rather we didn’t have another “Omg Druid can jump into Towers” moment. Even if they don’t implement the gliding, it’s always better being safe than sorry.

As for EB, keep gliding out of there until they release “EB 2.0”, the current map just wouldn’t work.

Keeps shouldn’t be easy takes period. There has to be some risk involved not just an easy cap, otherwise they may as well just be camps.

Trust me, my guild has suffered more than you know in taking these keeps, from Keep Lord bugs to tactivator Hell but I still think taking a keep should not be easy.

No, they shouldn’t be easy. But the difficulty shouldn’t be in the form of gimmicks.

The Lords should be like the SM lord, tonne of health that increases with more players with large damaging AoE attacks designed. Something to soak up damage until defending players arrive.

My post a few comments ago explains what I don’t like about the current Lords, right now we’re fighting gimmicks, all of which you can exploit in order to cheese the fights. We need a solid tanky figure that doesn’t move, can’t be cheesed and actually buys time without using annoyances like teleports and unlimited CCs.

I hate the lords. They’re so kitten annoying and inconsistent.

Undercroft Lord – Knockbacks and fears for days, hope your class has stability stacks, lots of them.

Palace Lord – Stand outside the circle and range spike him, if you go inside then prepare to move a lot because the lord will just teleport for years until you eventually kill him.

Rampart Lord – Wall of reflections? Oh he’s dead.

Tower Champs are just as bad.

Lords should just be a tank that spits out large aoe damage until defenders come to save the keep or tower, SM Lord being the best example. I want to fight players when attacking keeps, not mechanics.

These new mechanics aren’t fun, they’re boring and time consuming in the worst way.

Whilst I agree with you, I still don’t believe that a now repeating stream of complaints will speed things up.

It’s the internet, you can’t really stop a steady stream of complaints unless you address them. Yes there will still be complaints but right now instead of plunging the clogged up toilet, they’re just continuing to let people take a dump in it.

The problem is Anet decided that since the forums were venomous years ago, they’d stop all communication on it, not considering the fact that many that were venomous then have left and because they are continuing to ignore the forums, they’re breeding a new wave of venomous forum users.

On an earlier point you made. We have been waiting for this overhaul for years. Yes, it was only announced before HoTs release but we’ve been asking, pleading, begging for an overhaul such as this for years – it’s desperately needed and now that it’s in the wind they keep delaying it and leading us on.

“Hey that whole population imbalance thing? Fixin’ it reeeal soon” – ‘Soon’ is a pinprick of uncertainty that’s being made more redundant by the constant delays and lack of clear communication.

It’s beyond the point of patience, this kitten ed overhaul was meant to ship with HoT and when it was delayed originally they said it’d be their main priority and they keep delaying and saying “soon”.

HoT came out 4 months ago, 1/3rd of a year. How in the hell did something get delayed that badly? The games been out for 3 and a half years, there’s no excuse for screwing up that badly at this stage.

If they’d said why it was delayed, what they’re planning and when they reckon it’ll release, sure, patience can be found. But this bullkitten of “soon” after 4 months is a whole load of crap.

If my department at work failed to push out something this big and it was delayed for 4 months (and counting) you’d be sure as hell someone would be getting flogged.

Even without the pet, you can output a tonne of damage as a longbow Ranger.

Go full zerkers or near enough (new marauder stat is also pretty good), and run with Signet of Stone for emergencies and you’ll be set. Pick your targets well and rain your longbow 5 in the middle of the enemy zerg for extra lootbag goodness.

No, conditions just don’t work in a zerg environment unless they can keep the application up constantly (since zergs tend to run with masses of condi removal) and shortbow Rangers only really excel in single target condition application.

Rangers work great in WvW, even in zergs – but only with the right builds.

OP, for backline go for Necro with Wells or Elementalist with Staff (you don’t need to place your water, just focus on your damage and drip the water if you feel like it).

Alternitively:

In regards to the function gyro, IMO all it really need is 1 stack of stability on activation.

It used to, at least when traited, it was one of the things they changed with the kitten balance patch they released recently.

They already have a tool for doing additional rewards in HoT, they just choose not to implement it anywhere else (especially not WvW) – meta event rewards. IE stay on a map for say 30 minutes, then get a reward based on your participation.

Of course this will lead to karma training – but that’s what what brings activity to WvW. Blobs karma train. Guilds fight them. Blobs fight back or call on their own guilds. Simple as that.

Well they could modify it to a personal equivalent of this. Instead of a map meta, it’s a player meta.

Defending, attacking, repairing, killing etc all contributes to an ongoing meta reward as you play and you get rewarded periodically, including a unique currency to buy WvW specific food, oils, skins etc.

The longer you play, the better reward. Cap it at maybe 4 upgrade tiers and each tick after that gives you the 4th tier reward so that players that play an hour or so can get the 4th tier rewards and any game time afterwards is just additional rather than trying to pressure people into playing longer than an hour at a time.

It would be a step in the right direction for getting more players into the game mode, but they’d still need to figure out how to stop players stacking to specific servers just to farm rewards.

Though all this should have been implemented years ago, the game is 4 years old this year and it feels like a crappy beta compared to the rest of the game.
