At level 27 you don’t even have your elite skill unlocked yet. You aren’t contributing as much to the group as a level 80 would. What I got from your OP was that you wanted to get level 80 gear (yellows to sell mainly) at level 27 in a dungeon designed to be tougher then your average dungeon. That sounds like you wanting to be carried though a dungeon, get hella exp for it, and make a decent chunk of silver off higher then your level rares.
If a group wants to take you at 27 then that’s completely up to them. However, you want your cake and you want to eat it too. Not that it matters, you can make decent money grinding out a zone to 100% and vendoring any blues/greens you find along the way.
yeh I get it that that’d be too much, but at this point, doing fotm is inferior to simply grinding the whole map then doing fotm at 80. and they let low lvls in so obviously this is not “just an 80 area”

well I can SELL the high level gear so it’s not like I did this kitten that’s harder on my low toon and I even get crap for it coz at that point I might as well do it on my main.
why so offensive? not like level 1 fractals is that hard or anything. all I’m saying is that MAYBE it would be a good idea to let low levels do it for fun and leveling perhaps the first 10 levels would be doable. since I find every other form of pve or wvw dull, I thought I might ask.
I tried to do fractals today with a lvl27 ele, only leveled once, the loot was my level sooo…. it’d be nice if this was a viable way to level and I wouldn’t miss out on lvl 80 loot

If they teleport or become downed, they will drop the Orb.” well they CAN be dropped. now whether that means it’s destroyed or can be picked up is debatable. they said it’s ctf so it might disappear, and that’d make sense too.
explain that to me
on the new map, you get roughly the same reward for delivering an orb. 30 pts or 15 pts + a neutralization. what stops a team from downing a player very close to a point then picking the orb up and just immediately scoring? this is like playing soccer with one gate…
also points can change ownership, why not just make people deliver it to their bases?

the game is just mindless spamming of skills. proof: you can’t 1v2 ever. desperately needs a casting resource.
The rewards absolutely suck for the Ticket Tournaments. It’s unbelievable that first place is awarded only 360 Glory. The Gems are a nice touch but it doesn’t make up for the missing Glory. You should get 360 Glory for making it to round 2 in a Ticketed event.
2k for winning, 800 for second place, 300 for third and fourth.
atm, you get less glory by winning all free tournies you enter than zerging around in 8v8.

In MY opinion, I think bug fixes and balance between class is more important.
But that’s MY opinion. So I don’t expect many people to care or be seen by anyone as constructive. But I don’t go around pontificating my opinions like they are facts. Now that’s just silly.
except nobody plays spvp anymore and it’s because there is no competition. so my “opinion” is a fact.
Sadly, i think there is a lot of work that requires on balance and bugs. When we start to seen necros/rangers/eles with differents builds (for example) then i think we should start to thinking ranks and all things the game MUST have… but until the game works as intended i dont think we are going to see nothing like that, and thats “OK” i think?
no. ranking is THE single most important aspect of ANY competitive game. if nobody knows who’s the best, who’s popular and who to watch then nobody is gonna give two kitten about the pvp really. paid tournaments are just useless fodder. I seriously can’t believe they released like this.
Oh and playing against complete noobs sucks too. not entirely sure if paid tourneys are gonna solve that.

This might be going a bit far. I am sure there are many people attracted to this game for the story and creating a beautiful character in a rich world and are not even thinking about how they are going to be challenged at level 80.
There should be a broad range of difficulties. Getting to polarized in either direction will exclude people for no good reason.
The explorable dungeons were supposed to be the “hard” stuff for ppl that wanted a challange, with storymode as a casual alternative.
But what we are seeing is the casual crowd going “why do they get special content when I cant?, nerf explorable dungeons to suit everyone please”
This is exactly what ruined WoW and will eventually ruin GW2 aswell.. Anet will bow down to the demands of the many and nerf everything to suit “everyone”

There could be more “mini objectives”, maybe, on Forest mostly, since i find Khylo and Legacy to be really well designed maps, but I don’t know how would that affect the flow of Objective Capturing and positional control, if it would turn it to a random zerg of “MUST TAEK ALL THE OBJECTIVES, EVERY1 RALLY 2 MEH!”
that surely wouldn’t be the case with tournaments, and that’s all there is to care about really..
even on kyhlo and legacy, you must have bunkers standing on your captured points all game long or else they’ll just get neutralized instantly. It might be worth a shot for anet to try and increase neutralization times imo.. They said that they wanted to make it easier to turn games around doing this but that makes absolutely zero sense to me, especially in tournaments. If you’ve kittened up the first 3 minutes, just trying really hard because “oh we can still win this” won’t magically win you the game. In pvp what you need is perfect execution.
more objectives on forest sounds nice. or maybe more frequent respawns with slightly less points awarded.
I’m sorry didn’t know it went by that name (it’s actually pretty obvious I just never thought of it).
I think it’s the best mode for the way this game was created, position, displacement skills, and bursting key targets are pretty much everything in terms of fighting, so a stationary point that if controlled gives points to your team seems the best option to me. If you compare it to capture the flag for instance it would either tanks with stability broken for capping or make knockbacks wayyyy too good for defending.
I find that it takes away a lot of excitement for me :| You can come back sure, but it’s just points.. I like the foefire map the best because of the guild lord mechanic which was pretty much what made gvg interesting in gw1(flagging also added an element of tactics into it)
The way it is currently (people just bunkering up and little skirmishes) I don’t particularly find fun.. Though that may just be because there is no competition yet..

+1, you should only get points for actually making your team get points or denying enemies’ points. Wtf is objective assaulter or skirmisher? It’s also ridiculous to see 8 people standing on one point for 10 seconds to get points for it…

Basically the LoL model, and they took forever to get another game mode in and even then dominion is barely played compared to classic.

ok I really like the jumping puzzles, but the general questing is a bit boring for me..
what I’m really looking for I guess is something similar to the perma uwsc in gw1 3 years ago. I loved that, especially pugging it. The constant failures and doing other people’s stuff with your build and improvising and the specific knowledge that it required and basically the chillness of it was really amazing. If you got bored of one area, you could easily just watch a vid of another one and try it.
I have tried dungeons and found them pretty mindless :/

the direction is Esports and competitive PvP play thats there goal but it will not happen overnight the game could of been in beta for another year and you would still have all these things needing to be ironed out a game of this magnitude wil never be perfect and you have to accept that.
I’m pretty sure that 1 more year of beta would’ve helped it immensely. Like we wouldn’t have it launch WITHOUT A LADDER SYSTEM LOL
I always end up finding myself the person defending points, but then I don’t get anything from it.
It’s always the people running around farming kills that get double my points. IMHO, you should get 5 or 10 points every 15s for defending a point or something.
that promotes AFKers. I would suggest they give x amount of points/glory for the time the cap point has been contested for and if you defend or neutralize it.
right? they could give you points for something that actually makes you win, yet they throw in bullkitten like “objective assaulter”……..
the map is not necessarily bad, the sharks are not the best design for a map that isn’t even in tournaments but the main problem is that underwater combat is worse than rotten garbage tbh
agreed with some form of energy mechanism, despite what you all wanna believe, cooldowns only are not good enough. everything else you suggested is crap.
actually what we need is points rewarded for how long you PREVENT the enemy player from neutralizing your point ;D and get proper points for killing s1 on neutral point too XD coz you get 5 for it atm and it’s kitten ridiculous tbh.. why.. XD get rid of that shiet and give 15 uniformly for kills. also respawn is WAAAAAAAY too short. at least 30 secs, or change it to 20 always in tourneys…. kitten that spawning in groups kitten, ppl should be organized enough in tourneys for that to be unnecessary

They are unhealthy for the game, they discourage just doing random stuff, going around, having fun, being with your friends etc etc. I’m sure people also sometimes go mists->la->la teleports->main city->wp to cut costs which isn’t good for them(pretty boring) or you(unnecessary server stress). Figure some other goldsink out, this is just bad.
Dungeons suck bigtime at the moment, here is a list of things you(Anet) might want to consider if you want your players doing them instead of crying on forums about how much your game sucks.
1, make wipes kick you out
it’s laughable that you can just respawn and respawn and respawn till you finally somehow complete it, doesn’t promote skillful play or thinking and doesn’t allow for proper rewards.. you shouldn’t be able to just buy your way through a dungeon with repairs and slowly chip away at mobs.. it’s not fun either
2, lower difficulty of story mode
pretty self explanatory, it’s ridiculously hard to pug at the moment for most people
will also need to happen if you remove rez(point 1.), which is a must.
3, take no armor damage from dying in dungeons
goes well with 1st, you don’t want to punish players for experimenting and dying in your dungeon – their time will be enough if they don’t complete it – you don’t want them giving up before they have a chance to understand it and you don’t want to punish melee either.
4, increase explorable rewards FIVEfold at END chest
with wipes in there it will be even harder which is a good thing if that is the only thing keeping players from getting the rewards fast. don’t kid yourselves, nobody will complete your dungeons 200 times(that’s flawed too by the way, nobody wants to do the same dungeon for his entire armor set forever), they might do it 40 times if it’s not just dumb grind..
not talking about redesigns here…
